  • CHRISTINA says:

There are two lip care items (the one at the top of the list and the one at the bottom) that both say “vitamin” and are both Free after a 2RR, are these the same thing? If not, can they be rolled between?

    Thanks Collin! :)

    -Christina

  • Lisa says:

Lypsyl is actually a moneymaking. There was arebate for $2 on the same page as the coupon. It also needs to be purchased by January 31st. I have it so I’ll definitely be doing this deal!! I like the stuff almost as much as Burts Bee’s. Form has to be postmarked by 2-28-10

  • Lucy says:

anyone else having issues combining a manufacturer and Walgreens coupon? The last twice I’ve had to cancel my transaction because they refuse to use both coupons – at 2 different Walgreens too

  • laurie says:

Looks like a good week at Wags. Thanks!!!

  • Velvet says:

Hellow Hip2Save Readers, So last night I went to Walgreens and did this scenario only to be told that my $10 RR did not print because I used manufacture’s coupons which brought the price below $30. I was FROSTED after getting nowhere with the store manager
After putting away my other great deals from RiteAid & CVS-teehee I sent Walgreens an email telling them about my issue and how I’ve done it countless times before and have never had this problem and so forth & so on. I will share Walgreens reply with ya’ll as soon as I hear back from them. Now please don’t get me wrong, if this is something new then Walgreens should make their valued customers aware. Or did I do the transaction wrong, tell me so that I’ll be in the “know” the next time. Ok, so I’m broken up about my $10RR, I’ll get over it somehow (picture me with my head down low singing The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow-ROTFLMBO, but really I’m broken up about it. Wondering if any of you have had any issues :) What did I do wrong?
    Deal Scenario :
    Purchased 2 Dulcolax Balance @ $10 for $20
    Purchased 2 Tums @ $4 for $8
    Purchased 1 Benefiber for $5
    Total=$33
    Use the $3/2 Dulcolax coupons
    Use the $2/1 Benefiber coupon
    Use the $2/2 Tums coupons
    Paid $21
    Did not get my $10RR
I will submit my Dulcolax rebate today :)

    • Tara says:

i dont remember what was included in the deal, the tums were right? if so then was the machine’s green light on? if this happens to me, i make them re-ring it with no coupons and 99.9% no rr comes out and i tell them HA! so they either give me cash or put it on a gift card or the other day they gave me back my rr to use again. walgreens is iffy sometimes, good deals but sometimes a hassel. hth

    • Amanda says:

You know, Walgreens is kind of weird sometimes. Today, I was doing the Huggies wipes deal. I was purchasing ten boxes of wipes and I had ten 50 cent off manufacturer coupons. The scanner took six of my identical coupons, then wouldn’t scan anything else!!! I had equal items to coupons, so the cashier just manually overrides everything. I am so blessed to have wonderful cashiers in my town! At CVS, the cashiers actually COACH me on how to get the best deals with my Extra Care bucks and multiple transactions! They actually clip my extra care bucks off my reciepts for me and everything!

    • hala says:

You right the other day I did a transaction for the huggies pull ups mor than 25 $ and they didn’t get the 1$ coupon from the coloring book. I said okay then after the transaction done they didn’t give me the 5$ RR . I called the manager and he redo it again for me and still NO RR . he said that because I usend coupons I wasn’t spose to use any ………….. Hello………….!!!! is this new I asked ? I asked if he shop in walgreen he said that he never did and he dosen’t know how it’s work . That’s why he couldn’t help me !!!! I returen my stuff after long argument getting no where. I don’t like walgreen any more like before my favorite store is CVS ..go CVS
      ]

      • LeeAnn says:

I’m so glad I wasn’t the only person that had this happen with the huggies & the coloring book coupon. Manf. coupons went fine but the coloring book one kept beeping so she manually entered it but she was taking the $1 off the price of the diapers not my ending total so it was falling short of the $25 needed for the RR. I held my ground, she ended up calling the manager who finally said just scan the diapers 3 times give her the RR & then void the transaction.

      • LJ says:

I had a similar situation this week with the Huggies…won’t get into it here b/c I did a rant on iheartwags website. They wouldn’t let me use the coloring book coupon either. But even when I called corp about it, they started telling me that I cannot use more than one LIKE coupon per transaction. (So, if I get 3 diapers, I can only use one diaper coupon.) I KNOW that is NOT correct, and I tried explaining it to the lady but she got all snotty and told me I am committing coupon fraud and don’t know anything about coupon policies! WHAT! Anyway, the next guy at corp admits he doesn’t know anything about coupons and puts me on hold THREE times to go figure it out. OMG! If Corp doesn’t even know what they are talking about, no wonder WAGS is all messed up. (He eventually said I couldn’t use the coloring book Q – which he had no idea what I was talking about first – because it can’t be combined with any other offer which meant a RR deal.) Okay, yeah, whatever. I know that’s not true, because I used the neosporin coupon just fine…. Anyway, yea. WAGS is waste of time!

      • Amanda M says:

I have been told that you can’t use the coupons from the coloring book when the item is on sale because it says on the coupon only off regular price or something to that effect. So that is probably why they won’t let you use them. Hope that helps.

    • Velvet…the exact same thing happened to me and the manager tried to tell me it was because I used mfr Qs (wrong!). I came back later and the cosmetic counter cashier (who’s my bud) said it sounded a little fishy to her too, so after I left she rang up the whole deal again without using any Qs and it still did not print a RR. I KNEW IT!! Something is wrong with the catalina and the manager then spent the next 2 hours on the phone with them. Not sure if she ever got anywhere with them…Anyway! It’s not you or your Qs…it’s them! If that ever happens again, just have them do a return immediately! That’s what I did.

      • Me says:

I’ve done 5 of the Spend 30 get 10 deals. I’ve only bought benefiber. Each transaction was 3 of the powder and 3 of the sugar free sticks. I got 4 of my RRs, but one didn’t print. They too told me it was because of coupons, but I used coupons on all 5 transactions so of course that isn’t true. I called Catalina and they had me scan my receipt and e-mail it to them. I haven’t heard back from them…. I hate not having a $10.00 RR in my hands!

        • Sadie says:

Make sure the cashier gives you a grand total before coupons. This should trigger the RR. And always have an item number equal or greater than your coupon total. This usually keeps my rewards printing. And ask questions so you know how your Walgreens works. They will respect you more if you know how to use the coupon process at their store.

          • Jennifer says:

I agree. Today at Wags I had four items four coupons. I tried to use register rewards to pay and it beeped. She said you have 4 items and 4 coupons. The register views register rewards as coupons. I just kept them for later and paid cash. I also did a Pepsi deal two weeks ago and wanted to use my $10 RR on the chip one I did today. Pepsi is doing the Lays deal so she she said don’t use that now or it wont print the $10 one you want, so again I saved it. She did help me know when to use what. My point is I agree that 4 items 4 coupons gets ya through the line.

    • Ellie says:

I wonder if I’ll have this same problem with the Dr. Scholls deal. I was going to try it tomorrow, but it looks like the two items plus coupons will end up being 9.98 – 2 cents short of the $10.00 required for the $5 rr.

      • Velvet says:

Thanks everyone! This is why I love Hip2Save, I can ask a question and receive great advice. You all ROCK!

      • Michelle Ottley says:

I bought some Dr. Scholls gel inserts today for $10.99 – $2 coupon. The $5 RR didn’t print out. Any ideas as to why the RR didn’t print out?

    • Anonymous says:

    • Melanie says:

I had a problem with last weeks Pert Plus for Men deal. One day it went through and I got the $2 RR. The next day it wouldn’t work. The manager said that there was a big dispute between The company that makes Pert Plus and Walgreens.

  • laurie says:

Lisa – what page are you talking about for the coupon and the rebate for the Lypsyl?

  • Jessica says:

Any one else having issues printing 2 of the Thermacare coupons? It only let me do it 1 time! Darn – my hubby loves when I score these for him for free or practically free! :)

    • Jaime says:

I was only able to get one too. We’ll probably need access to another computer to get another one. :(

    • LeeAnn says:

I was able to enter my husbands name, same home address but used a different email address to receive a second coupon. Hope this helps!

    • Shannon says:

YES! I only was able to print one… I’m going to do 1 Thermacare (2-3 ct) for 5.99-3Q, and then 1 Advil 40ct (4.49)-1Q=6.48 Get a $5 RR=1.48 for BOTH! It says you can mix and match, but it sucks we cant print 2 of the thermacare q’s

  • Pam says:

I have a question about a RIte Aid deal, but not sure where to ask. I have 2 BOGO qs for reach toothpaste and floss. They have them at 2.99 each now. And I just got a weight watchers mag q that says buy 3 products and get $5.00 off. Can I use all 3 coupons on 1 transaction? The $5.00 off q says”1 coupon per purchase specified.” Thanks!!

    • Tara says:

for the bogo coupons you would need to buy 4 items, ex two toothpastes and two floss. you will be paying for two items so 5.98. if it was a bogo sale you could buy 4 items use 2 bogo and pay nothing, but thats not the case here. and the 5.00 off weight watchers should be no problem if you buy 3 weight watchers items, the per purchase specified is the 3 items, so if you had two of those coupons you would need to buy 6 items to use two. hth

Thanks, but I wasn’t clear. The $5.00 off was on the weight watchers magazine but it was for reach toothpaste, floss and mouth wash. So I was wondering if I can use the BOGO and the 5 off on the same transaction. Basically pay for 2 items get 4 and use the 5 off of 3 reach toothpaste, floss and mouth wash coupon??

    • Pam…No you cannot use all 3 Qs. Picture it this way. Lay out all your items and place a coupon on each one. If you buy 4 toothpastes, 2 of them will have a coupon on them (the bogo ones). That only leaves 2 items without coupons, not 3. To get around this, just buy 5 toothpastes at $2.99 each. 2 of them will be free…that leaves you with $8.97, then use the $5.00/3 Q to get it down to $3.97 total. Not bad for 5 toothpastes (or floss)!

The Tostitos deal is only good in about 10 states! I was bummed after I printed out the form and read it.

    • Shannon says:

There should be 4 different MIR’s… you might be on one of the other ones.

    • Tresa says:

You’re right, I didn’t even look at the states! I sent mine in already & we live in MI, not an eligible state unless you buy the pepsi & beer. Bummer, I thought I got a really good deal too!!

Anyone have a good link for the Quaker Chewy Granola Bars 10 pack? The link provided is for ice cream!! Thanks!!

I know you say prices may vary at some stores, this is the only store for me where NONE of the deals are ever the same. They are usually on sale but not for the same price or the regular price is more. But I have no problems with matching deals at Target, Rite Aid, CVS, K-Mart or Walmart. I live in Canton Michigan…anyone else come across this problem? Like I went today and the Kleenx deal there are no Kleenx priced for 1.29…all of them were 1.49 or more and for their deal you had to purchase a $1.99 up to $2.49 box of Kleenex for the B1G1. The Mens Sure Deodorant was 2/$5 not 2/$3 BUT mine did come with 2 stickers that said TRY ME FREE on them…so Im curious to check that out. Thanks for all you do Collin, just bummed and wondering why only 1 store is WAY off for me on prices.

OK, I am a newbie and just finished my first shopping experience and I’m a little disappointed and would love some advice. I don’t feel like I saved much. I realize since I just started I do not have a huge collection of coupons, therefore I am limited to what deals are good and my printer broke while I was trying to print the online coupons so I didn’t get to many of those either. I went to the commissary and spent 110.00 and saved 40. What’s that, 35%. I was hoping for a lot more. Is it just going to take me some time to get the hang of it? Should I only, only use coupons when things are on sale or can stack them or double them? I din’t do any of these things, but remember I shopped at the commissary. I also feel like it took me forever. Should I make a list and just get the deals that others have posted? I could see in the future a list of what I need to stock up on would be good, but right now I need to stock up on everything. I am totally feeling disappointed right now, especially since most of my 40 bucks I save went to the babysitter…don’t ask, another story. Oh my goodness, please send advice this way!

    • Becky says:

Shopping at the commissary is a bit more difficult when you are trying to really save with coupons. At my store they will not stack coupons and they do not double. I use the commissary mainly for the things that don’t go on sale. Their prices are lower so you are still saving money and forty dollars is great there! Do you have a Publix nearby? Their BOGO sales are the best way to stock up and save lots at the same time. Just be proud that you saved and you are learning!

    • Janet says:

I think the best thing to do is to start out slow. It really does take time to learn what is best for you. Also it could be a waste of money if you go out and get the certain deals that others post that you normally don’t buy or use. Plus it’s great that you saved $40. It’s better than nothing! Good luck and stick to it!!

Vitamin Water Lip Care (Acai, Dragon Fruit, Fruit Punch, Lemonade is this a monthly? I was just looking at Iheartwags and Erica doesn’t have it posted are you confusing this with the Vitamin Schtick Lip care for 1.99 ?

    • Shannon says:

I believe the vitamin water lip care is the same as the vitamin schtick… its the vitamin water flavors. As far as is it a weekly or monthly…IDK

  • Amber says:

  • Nicki says:

Great deals Collin, thanks as always! I have to agree with some of you guys about Walgreens and their coupon/sale/RR issues. We have 3 Walgreens close to me and every time I go to one there is a problem. While they have the circulars up front with the sales listed, none of the items are labeled with the appropriate sale prices for the correct size/flavor. I end up having to open the store circular and hunt down the exact product so it will be the advertised price. Often times the price will ring up different than the circular so I have to show the cashier exactly what I’m referring to and the last few times I’ve gone they don’t even have any a particular item (like last week’s B1G1 Razors) that are advertising on sale. Despite all the issues…… I still go for the sales but geez!

    • Nicki says:

Lol….case in point…I went to Wags this morning for some of the Dole Fruit Cups that are 3 for $5 and the milk which is advertised on the front page of the ad. Half of the fruit cups the store had were 3 weeks past their expiration date and the cashier told me they do not carry the brand of milk that is advertised on the front page of the store paper.

  • CJ says:

I registered for the BOGO Joint Juice coupon and it said no more prints available. Has anyone gotten it to print?

  • Me says:

I did print the bogo Joint juice and then decided not to use them. My stores all only have about 3 boxes of these, so 1 shopper can almost wipe them out. I’m going to hit 4 stores, but only 1 box of Joint Juice at each. If your stores don’t carry many of these you might do the same. I know it’s nice to get 2 of them but remember all your coupon shopper friends!

The $5 off coupon found in the diabetes booklet states “….manufacturer coupon good only at walgreens”……so, just beware….sometimes it works when I stack this coupon with another manfacturer’s coupon and other times it doesn’t.

    • Valerie says:

I’m in CT and they don’t have the Diabetes Booklet here at Walgreens.

  • Anonymous says:

was anybody able to print the post cereal coupon? mine said the link is not found once i got the email

    • Valerie says:

I printed 2 of the coupons the other day and used them today at Shaws. It was great. Post Raisin Bran was $1.49 if you purchased 4 of them. So I grabbed 4 and 2 English Muffins which were B1G1 at $3.39. I had 2 – $2 coupons for Post plus 2 special DOUBLE COUPONS up to $3, so the total was $1.35. How awesome was that!

    COMMENTS WELCOMED-

So, I was in a rush this morning at Walgreens, which is always bad when I am trying to keep RR and coupons clear for seperate transactions. Lo and behold, I screwed up and didn’t get RR for Zicam and Vitamin Schtick. I figured it was because I wasn’t paying attention and tried to roll my RR from my first transaction which also had the Zicam and Vitamin Schtick. I acted like I didn’t know what was going on and asked the checker – she didn’t really understand RR and asked the manager. He said that really it shouldn’t have mattered that I rolled the same RR as what I wanted to get back because things with coupons and RR aren’t as corporation specific as what they used to be. He said the issue was that I had the same number of items (6) as the number of coupons I used in the transaction (6) so therefore it wouldn’t print the RR. I had never really heard this before about it not mattering whether you rolled over and used a RR on the same corporation’s product. I thought you couldn’t do that.

    • anonymous says:

You can’t use a RR on one transaction and get the same RR back on the next transaction. So basically, when you used the Zicam and Vitamin Schtick RR on the purchase where you were buying the products to get the same RR’s again, it was voided.

  • anonymous says:

Okay so I have a random question. I’m not sure if this is scenario is right, so correct me if I’m wrong… but I have 10 $30 off Bayer product coupons from the 10/25RP. So if I were to go to Walgreen’s and do 10 transactions just buying the $14.99 meter listed in the RR’s for the week. What would happen? I’d be buying just that, using the manufacturer coupon for $30 off, which would make the product free. Would I have to put in some small-value item like a piece of candy for $.30 to get the RR? I’ve used RR before so I know how they work… this deal just seems like too good to be true! If everything goes right, I’ll be making $100 in RR! Wow! :-)

    • Jennifer says:

I am in the same boat! Just got my q’s in the mail yesterday! :-) I think the way you and I are both thinking is correct… just go in, buy a meter and get $10RR. Just make sure to do 10 separate transactions. Now what would happen if I tried to return the products? Would I get $0 back or would I get $14.99 back? It doesn’t seem right for Walgreens to get my product back and then collect the $14.99 from the Bayer coupon. Stores are supposed to even out on coupon transactions, not lose money! How does returning things with coupons work at Walgreens?

Thanks in advance for your help, everyone!

      • hala says:

where or which website did you buy your coupn from,

      • Anon says:

You get zero dollars back if you took the meter back because you didn’t pay anything for it. You would not get your coupon back either. And you would need to give back your RR too.

      • Maria says:

Jennifer, my guess is YMMV. I think when I have returned stuff before that I have used coupons for (but not gotten RR’s for) they would refund the total amount of what you paid without the coupon. So if you returned the meter, you would be credited back 14.99 because they would be sending the coupon back for payment to Bayer. But, the manager may (if he/she is aware of the RR attached to it) make you return the RR too.

    • CA says:

Please post what happens if you do just try to get the RR from just the one product purchased. I think this was what the manager I dealt with today was referring to. He seemed to say that if you use equal amounts of coupons and products you don’t get a RR back. I’m curious to know your result. Thanks.

      • anonymous says:

I went into Walgreens today with my coupons and was able to do four separate transactions to get four Contour Meters for absolutely free (no tax). My total for all four transactions was $0.00. And then I got $40 in RR! (I only got four because that was all they had in stock apart from the one I left for someone who may need it).

  • Liz says:

The 1 dollar off keebler in the parade is definately on crackers. If yours says chili, as someone said above, then it must vary by region.

  • Erin says:

In case anyone else has trouble finding them…in my WAGS, the Vitamin Schticks are located at the checkout in a bin. My WAGS did not have them stocked anywhere else in the store.

  • Courtney says:

$2.98 didnt come off for me for tissues. They only took off $1.49.

  • Renee says:

The Keebler Clubs cracker coupon is for a 1.00 off of free chili when you buy a package of club crackres, so I don’t think that deal will work.
    :(

  • Renee says:

    I mean 1.00 chili….not free chili….oops

Anyone else have problems with the Post coupon? I enter my info. and it says “invalid email”. I have not printed this before and I’ve double checked my address….

  • Alessandra says:

A plea to all couponers alike:

I am sure you have all noticed the overwhelming confusion at Walgreens lately regarding combining coupons, & RR’s printing or not. I am sure you have all noticed the lack of deals compared to last year.
I have noticed at my local Walgreens their policy has been changing often. And the looks on the cashiers face every time I use coupons & RR isn’t pleasant.

I now spend my Sunday& Monday’s reading the comments of well known blogs after everyone rushed to the store just to see if a deal worked. I have come to the conclusion it is ‘the bad apples ruining the bunch’.
I’ve read A lot of people trying to do deals that clearly won’t work if they understood couponing. Or buying all the glucose meters at a store leaving nothing for people who actually need them or causing such a commotion at the registers, spending hours with managers with a copy of their cooperate policy in hand. Our attitudes toward employees & managers and even the Catalina company have been a bit hostile lately. Unfortunately, I do understand why they have to constantly change policy to accommodate the overwhelming demand.
I think of the people who really need the products we go out of our way to empty the shelves. Those people are also calling corporate to complain.

As a person who has very limited funds to take advantage of the RR’s on a weekly basis, I feel blessed that Walgreens would have such a program. I feel blessed for the blogs who taught me how to coupon properly. If it weren’t for them I wouldn’t have been able to stock my medicine cabinets or sometimes even buy diapers or milk for my twin girls.

My point is I fear one day there will be no more RR’s or BOGO at Pubix or Walmart will no longer accept internet coupons. Because of those people taking all the free publix flyers and selling the coupons on EBay. These deals were not intended for just one person to benefit but for all.
Remember that most of us are still suffering from the recession and we need these deals to survive. So please be kind to employees & managers. Let’s be grateful for what we do have instead of fighting over a $10 RR when you still have $80 worth. We are all judged as a whole so let’s restore the good name of couponing.

    Thank you for listening……………….

    • Tara says:

i have a suggestion for people who have a lot of meter coupons and wish to use them all at once. talk to the manager first. ask him/her to order you the amount that you wish to purchase (they can do this no problem) tell them you do not wish to clear shelves and would like them to be fully stocked. worse they can say is no. if they do ask for the district managers name and number and ask them. if your store has a strict 1 rr per deal per person per day rule then you must obide by that but it never hurts to ask. you could also buy one per store if you have walgreens close to you (example i have 3 within 1 mile on one road! obide by the rules of your store and try to use your coupons correctly. good luck to all and congrats to those who had a lot of bayer coupons! i had a lot of aviva but ALL my stores were out!

Congrats Collin for a great site!!! I’m writing because I got flustered today and wanted to know if there is a rule of thumb to help you in a pinch. Here is what happened, I always start with a plan (Q’s and ads are cut, deals are in place) but when I get to my WG, I can’t find everything. So I try to figure out what to buy, in what order, etc so I spend the least OOP. I still got some good deals today but spent more OOP then I should have. I would return it all but i don’t have the Qs to repeat the deals. Any tips for getting reorganized? Thanks!
