I also scored a good deal on Bic pens at walmart. There are some $1 coupons in a bunch of magazines and at Walmart a lot of Bic variety packaged pens were $1 making them free.

I had a ‘jedi’ cashier at Walmart yesterday and used the $5/3 reach floss coupon from Weight Watchers magazine plus the $4 off Knox gelatin coupon and ended up with about $4.50 in overage! I had plenty other items to soak that up but it was so nice not to get hassled for using coupons at Walmart for once.

For those of you who are new, look for a good cashier…it makes all the difference with coupons! Mine was a sweet teenage girl yesterday. Just a heads up!

I would never try the knox coupon at my walmart. No cute teen cashiers there, only very savey coupon police, but at my Publix I have used the knox coupon 4 times with the overages. So what do I do with Knox gelatin lol?

Did Walmart change their coupon policy?
My cashier said they had a meeting & were instructed to only accept 1 internet coupon!
I had 2 items & 2 internet coupons (from coupons.com) everything was legit & she wouldn’t accept my 2nd coupon. She said their policy has changed. Have any of you encountered the same issue?

I asked for a supervisor & the supervisor told her to take both of my coupons & that she’ll double check the info from the “meeting” (since I was holding up a LONG line) =/

FYI… (i’m asian myself so this isn’t meant to be a racist comment) but WTH old asian lady cashiers are sooo anal about coupons! She triple checked my items… the coupon…expiration dates… and even after she realized they were legit she still wouldn’t take them! WTH?!?! I’m sticking to the young cashiers from now on *sigh*

It’s just old cashiers, got for the young ones. Teenage boys are best, they don’t care and know how to push them through, teenage girls usually don’t care but if it beeps they don’t know what to do.

Collin ~ I have been following you for about a year now. You have saved me so much $$$. Love the website. I had a horrible day @ Wally World today. The cashier read every coupon word for word OUT LOUD. It took her 45 minutes to get through my coupons. Needless to say everyone behind me hated me. She then proceeded to call management over to tell me that they would not accept my “free” coupons. My BOGO were fine and so were the ones that rang up w/an overage, but not the Stacey Pita Chips or the 200 Calorie Pizza. No biggie —I will just use them at Target. Even though the prices are the lowest, the hassle is a bummer!

I was at Walmart the other day and had a pleasant coupon experience.. (for once)… I was able to use a Publix coupon there. I was told they will take anything but $x off $xx coupons and starting Feb 1st they will no longer be taking BOGO coupons. Its nice when you have a cashier who realizes the work we put into our coupons to save our families money. FYI this was in Crawfordville, FL. Oh and a side note Publix lets me use my RR there! Which is wonderful. I used $20 in RR last night on groceries!

I wonder why they wouldn’t accept the pizza or the stacy’s. Those coupons are for real. Even the Stacy’s…I mean it has silver on it.

I don’t think that Knox Gelatine coupon is meant to be used on regular gelatin in a box. It’s supposed to be used on the gelatine for joints. C’mon people $4 off regular gelatin is too good to be true and would def. raise the red flag among the coupon nazi clerks. It even has a picture of the joint gelatine on the coupon and in the ad from the insert. That’s way too much overage and I don’t think the company meant for the coupon to be used on regular gelatine.

I get what you’re saying. We all know it’s not meant for it, but we’re getting them on a technicality. I doubt I’ll try it. Like you said, waay to much overage for an item.

I had a great experience with coupons in Portland, Or. My best tip PDX shoppers…go to the lady with the glittery hair. She is an older woman who sprays an entire can of gold glitter spray into her hair because “the customers love it.” Nicest, most coupon friendly cashier I’ve met to date!

I have come to hate using coupons at Wal-Mart! The other day my cashier wouldn’t let me use a Target coupon that said manufacturer coupon at the top (it just had a target logo) for Lean Pockets. She even scanned the coupon and it didn’t beep but then she looked at it and voided it off and handed back. I told her even though it had a target logo it was still a manufacturer coupon, so she huffed and went and asked a manager and came back and said no i still couldn’t use it. I mean to me as long as the computer takes the coupon with no beeps it should be legit. Wal-Mart is such a pain. They have all of those old grouchy ladies working there with those button pins on their jackets that say 15 years of dedicated service who HUFF AND PUFF with every coupon they scan. LOL. NO offense to older ladies out there!! Just the ones that work at Wal-Mart lol.

    Sara,
Where is the Walmart in Portland Oregon that you are talking about? And I wonder how I might find out what days/hours she works! The Walmart in Vancouver has a lot of coupon Nazis. I think there are more than one Walmarts in Portland. Thanks!

Our local Walmart is great with coupons it’s the small, local Target that is just awful. They just glare at me – and I coupon very ethically. I avoid that Target and drive another 30 miles to a Super Target that is much more pleasant. That said, my policy regarding clerks is not only go to the check out aisle with college men – but the more body piercings they have the better for coupon acceptance!!!

Just came back from my Wal-Mart and they said they are no longer taking internet cooupons. I got upset and put back all the items I had printed coupons for.

I had a coupon for 0.75 cents off any size tide. no sizes were excluded. so i picked up a travel size tide and the cashier at walmart refused it because the register beeped. i explained it does not specify a size so i should be able to use it. she still refused. anyone else have this problem on travel sizes?

    • 20.1

      Megan K says:

I had this problem at target! I had a $1.50 off ANY size tide and igot the travel size for .97 to get my overage and she wouldnt let me use it.. so i went over to Wal Mart and it beeped but she pushed it through anyways…

      • 20.1.1

        Craig says:

HUnh, never heard that you could use a $1.50 q on an item for .97. Unless they were to reduce the value down to .97 like the $1q. Never used that high of value before to attempt that.

    • 20.2

      Craig says:

You should have got a manager! or told her by her not accepting it, she was commiting coupon fraud. -Especially if said it was good for ANY size. This cashier obviously did not know her job and how to do it!!!!!. Now this was not expired was it? Im sure you had that covered too. And it was for the exact item stated right? IF so, then read my fist sentence. LOL

I went there tonight and got the Blue Ray dvd of Surrogates (had man $10q!) and that beeped several times/attempts. But when this happened, the lady just manually entered it in and all was good.

Yup, Wal-mart has lost my business for the most part because of customer service/coupon issues.

I saw the Scotch lint rollers for .99 at CVS today!

Oh sweet ya did?! Will go there instead.

        Craig says:

IDK if anybody else notice, but at least my WM, these lint rollers were NOT Scotch 3M, they were by a EVERCARE and did not state anywhere they were a 3M co. So how the heck would this q. work on those?. Unless by some crazy thing, WM has Scotch at some stores and not others. This bin was full of Evercare and I looked all over for the Scotch ones.
I did see some Scotch ones (1 only) at Target but it scanned at $1.49 for their Travel Size.

Uuugh. Off to CVS next week to use my very first ECB!!!!!
