Wow! I haven’t seen one of these test drive deals in a long time! Currently, Kia dealerships are offering up a FREE $25 gift card when you test drive the new 2011 Kia Sorento! To get in on this offer, you’ll need to hurry on over here and print the certificate. These certificates aren’t usually available for long, so I would recommend printing this while you have the chance. Once you’ve printed your certificate, plan a time on or before March 15th to head to the dealership and test drive the new 2011 Kia Sorento. After doing so, have the dealer fill out his unique Customer ID and signature, then mail it in and well, you’ll have scored yourself $25!

I’m curious to know how many of you take advantage of these test drive offers. I’d also love to hear any tips you may have regarding these offers. Let us know in the comment section!

(Thanks, ICouldUseADeal!)

AWESOME!! I cannot wait to try it – thanks for the heads up! Glad you had fun in Tampa!

  2. Lynne W

Thanks Collin! It helps to have an excuse like you have to pick up your kids from daycare so that they don’t keep you forever while they try to sell you the car.

  3. Trisha

Thanx!!! I just printed my form!!!

  4. fuzzymitten

I did this years ago for a $50 or $75 gc for amazon from Mercedes. Really nice cars, just say you’re still looking and haven’t decided yet, they don’t usually pressure you after you say that to the salesperson.

  5. missdeally

ohhh you’re killing me. LOL. pleasss post the FMM video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i can’t wait to see what you scored in publix!

    • Sakura

I’m with you. I keep running into my office and checking the site to see if the FMM has posted. I have printed out my form, I’ve never done this before but we have a great relationship with our local Kia Dealer. I purchased a Kia Rio for my daughter and she took it in there twice for warranty work. As a Thank You they sent me a $25 gift card! I’ll let you know how the test drive goes!

  6. Christine

great timing! We’ve been out mini-van shopping anyways and were going to look at the Kia–while we’re there, we might as well test drive a sorrento and. make $25.00

  7. Melissa

Yea! I’ve been waiting all day for the FMM video!

  8. Valerie

I did this for Ford years ago. The salesperson was so funny. He said, do you wish to purchase a car or just get the $$$? I of course said, I’m here for the gift card, so he just signed it. I was in and out within no time.

    • Craig

Oh thats awesome! No hassle, no nothing! too funny! Good for you!

    • Lisa

I did this a couple of years ago. It was for test driving the new Edge. While we were driving, we rolled down the sunroof and when we tried to roll it back up, it broke. That was an easy way to get out of the pressured sales. Um, looks like you have a few kinks to work out 😉

I drive a 2005 Hyundai & since Hyundai owns Kia, I can say that I’m sure anyone who test drivs this vehicle will likely be surprised at how nice the Sorento is. I’ve actually driven it before & it is a nice ride. I’ll take a test drive when my daughter is in PreK & make an easy $25! Thanks for the deal, Collin.

I just rented a new Hyundai Elantra for several days and wow! what a neat car!!

What kind of gift card is it? Something that can be used anywhere? Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t some kind of trick like a card that could only be used toward buying a car or anything. I couldn’t find any specifics about it!

Although this is a great freebie….. A few years ago I sold cars & wow the pressure & trouble you get in when someone doesn’t buy, then there’s all the follow up they want you to do. Just F.Y.I.

Having been in car sales… how do you suggest we go about this?
I would love the free GC, but would hate to see someone lose their Up/turn to really get a sale/commission/make money to feed their family.

Is their a “right” way to do this? =)

      • Mammafaus

I agree with you but unfortunately it depends on the dealership’s attitude toward these kinds of offers. I really think KIA wants to get people to try their cars but the lot manager can be the hardball toward the employee. I had to deal with a Free ski lift ticket in exchange for a test drive at the lot i worked at, my manager got so mad everytime that was all the customer came to do…and the management was the party that created the ad! SO DUMB!
I like the idea of bringing your kids with you for the test drive…afterall, you have to see if they all fit in the vehicle!! That will cut the sales time in half for sure !
ME? I wouldn’t do this deal unless KIA was actually a consideration at this time.

I totally agree. If you are HONESTLY considering purchasing a car (even if you hadn’t previously considered the Sorento) then this is a deal for you! If you’re seriously just in it for the money…think about the affect you could be having on another person’s life (i.e. the salesperson who loses their “up” and misses out on a chance to earn income to support their family.) I don’t think $25 is worth that, personally. I understand that car dealerships are the ones that create these promotions, but I highly doubt they are compensating the employees for the time that gets spent on people just wasting their time to get 25 bucks. Just be considerate, that’s all. Just my two cents. 🙂

    There*

  13. Lana

YAY! Hubby and I use these for fun money!

  14. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I think the only RIGHT way to do this is if you REALLY are car shopping.

  15. robyn

what’s the gift card for/from? a certain store? or is it like a prepaid visa? thanks

    • Emanuela

In the fine print it says “Visa Prepaid card issued by MetaBank,” so yeah I think its a visa card that you can use anywhere.

  16. ThriftyPuppy

I don’t agree with that statement. I liken this to coupons for a free grocery product or ‘try me free” rebates. They’re trying to get you in the car and, hopefully, you’ll like it and buy it. Even if you’re not in the market, you’ll probably tell 10 people about the experience. For them, it’s cheap marketing.

  17. Erin

my husband and i are actually looking at the Sorento to replace our 10 year old paid off mini van… does anyone know how much room is in the back seat?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I have the Kia Sedona and love it! I have had it for 3 years (since the new Model) and think it is so good. It is half the price of the Odyssey with all the bells and whistles! I want to go see how the Sorento compares in size to the ol’ minivan!

  18. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I agree that it’s to get you in the car. If a salesman is good at his/her job, they will work you and hopefully convince you to buy a car because they will present to you a “really good deal”. I also agree that word of mouth is the best form of advertising, so even though you may not buy the vehicle, you are likely to tell people about the vehicle….

  19. Kristin

I drive a 2007 Kia Sorento and I love Kia cars!!! I had a Spectra before my Sorento and will probably always buy Kia from now on. I am so excited about this deal. The 2011 is supposed to be pretty killer, based on what I read/saw in my monthly Kia magazine that I get. I have wanted to go look at/test drive one and now this gives me a good reason to do so. Maybe while I’m there I’ll get one of the voluntary recalls done on my current Kia and kill 2 birds with one $25 stone! ha ha

  20. Nancy

Hey, I printed this off last night. Then in my email from Kia, I received a $75 dollar test drive for the same kind Sorento 2011. Did you get the same thing? $25 expireson 3/15 but the $75 expires on 3/31. Do you think I can get them both?
