I got a email today stating this
Dear Melissa,
It has come to our attention that an expired offer featuring coasters was incorrectly added to your new account. We regret the error yet we’re pleased to tell you that the intended offer – a FREE 5″x 7″ greeting card – is waiting for you. Use the link in this email to log in to your account, create a card featuring your favorite photo, and get it FREE. We sincerely apologize for this situation and any inconvenience it may have caused you.*
I got that too! This stinks
Do we have any recourse on this? It wasn’t expired when I did it!!!! GRRRRR
Ditto here too, I contacted them expressing my extreme displeasure with their tactics. I was very firm with them saying that I expected a gift card in my email inbox. A silly greeting card was lame. They knew we had the right stuff for them – and it was NOT expired! I have my confirmation and everything. I’ll let you all know what they tell me in the next day.
I got the same email. coasters or a card? Give me a break! If it was already expired. why did our orders go thru?
I just received the same email stating the offer was expired. Does this mean it is being cancelled? Definitely not happy about that. If enough of us complain maybe we can get them to honor it.
Just received that email too and I am really mad. I plan on emailing them this morning although I am sure they will fail to care.
Oh and Collin we’re all still really grateful for you!
Ok. I just had a live chat with them. They said the coasters were expired just as the email said. My guess is the company that makes them freaked out about the number of orders. They credited my account for an item of the same cost. I picked the square wall calendar since it was also 24.99. When I am ready to order I just log back onto the chat and they will take care of the free shipping manually as well. That works for me I guess!
Here is the email that I just sent:
Dear Snapfish-
I decided to write to you in response to the message that I received this morning re: my order of Free Coasters. I am extremely disappointed that you are not standing behind your offer. There are many things about this email that bother me. First of all, I signed up for an account and had credits automatically in my account. I used the credits that were given to me. I was not using some random code that I found somewhere. This was a credit from you that showed no upcoming nor previous expiration.
The second thing that I find offensive is the offer of ONE free greeting card in return for 6 coasters. Surely you realize that this is not anywhere near a fair exchange for YOUR mistake. One greeting card costs what, $.25? The coasters were valued at $24.99 plus I received free shipping.
Finally, these were a birthday gift and now I have nothing for this birthday. I really do not think that offering said birthday boy one photo greeting card will make nearly the same impact as the beautiful photo coasters would have.
I trust that you will honor your previous offer. I made an order, my order was completed with no problem in your system, and I received a confirmation email that my order was being processed. There was obviously no issue and the code was not expired or it would not have worked to begin with. Please let me know how you plan to appropriately remedy this.
Sincerely,
Me
I also sent an email – I am not happy about this. What a bad decision to no honor these. I have never had issues before with this company, but will not trust them in the future. I like Shutterfly also, and will tend to lean toward that company and not this one.
Nicole
I hope Alison does not mind, I used some of her letter to compose the letter I just sent to Snapfish. I sent:
Dear Snapfish-
I am writing you in response to the message that I received re: my order of Free Coasters. I am extremely disappointed that you would attempt to get out of standing behind your offer. I signed up for an account and had credits automatically in my account. I used the credits that were given to me. This credit was from Snapfish. I did not ask for this credit, it was given to me. I find the offer of ONE free greeting card in return for 6 coasters offensive. Surely you realize that this is not anywhere near a fair exchange for YOUR mistake.
I spent quite a bit of time designing my coasters and am very excited to receive them!
I trust that you will honor your offer. I made an order, my order was completed with no problem in your system, and I received a confirmation email that my order was being processed. There was obviously no issue when I placed the order. I did not finagle your system. Please let me know how you plan to appropriately remedy this.
Sincerely,
Stacey Brister
I honestly think it is terrible of Snapfish to do this. I am also hoping that if enough of us let them know we expect them to stand behind their offer, they will. If they do not remedy this situation fairly, for all of us, I will not use or reccomend their company ever again.
I’m sure Collin knows it has nothing to do with her. Thank You Collin for all you do for us! You, Hip Girl, are the best! We all love you, Collin 🙂
I also sent them an email stating that I would no longer be using snapfish to order gifts or photos if they weren’t going to send me the coasters. I too explained that the order went through fine and if it was “expired” then the code for it to become free would have never worked. I’m waiting for a reply, and can’t wait to see what it says!
Mine finally worked!!
I joined Snapfish, saw the credit, and ordered the coasters. Like everyone else, Snapfish canceled my order. I complained, they refused.
I checked my account 2 weeks later and saw another credit for 6 free coasters. I ordered the coasters (I paid S&H) and they just arrived.
