CVS: Physicians Formula Moneymaker!
This Hip2Save.com Deal was hand-posted on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010 at 9:27 am.

As you may know from my CVS weekly deals post, Physicians Formula bamboo Wear products are generating a $5 Extra Care Buck with the purchase of one (limit 1)! The Bamboo Wear Compact, Mirror and Brush packs are priced at just $6.99. Plus, select varieties have Try Me Free peelies attached to them. If you can find one of these, then you’ll be able to turn this deal into a $5 moneymaker!
Let us know if you’re able to find these Try Me Free peelies at your local CVS!
(Thanks, FMCheapSkate!)

Jennifer says:
Yesterday I stopped in at CVS to check out the deal on Physicians Formula Bamboo Wear.
Here’s what I did:
Purchased 1 Physicians Choice Bamboo Wear Compact @ $6.99
Purchased 1 Physicians Choice Bamboo Silk Face Powder Refill @ $9.99
Total = $16.68 + tax
Used $5 off $15 CVS coupon that printed for me at the coupon printer Kiosk.
Total now is $11.98 + tax
Got back $5 in Extra Care Bucks for purchasing 1 PC Bamboo product
Now I am going to **mail in the rebate for $6.99 for the “try me free” compact.
Final Cost: paid only the tax on almost $17 worth of PC make-up and compact!!
**Notes about the rebate: make sure you have following:
- The TRY ME FREE LABEL which was affixed to your Physicians Formula product.
- Your original sales receipt with purchase price circled.
Rebate request without the TRY ME FREE LABEL will not be honored. These labels are affixed to specially marked products available in limited quantities while supplies last.
Tanya says:
The only products I found at CVS with the “Try Me Free” peelies say that the rebate needs to be postmarked by Jan. 2010. I was too afraid to try and send them in late.
Anonymous says:
It expires Dec 2010 and must be postmarked Jan 2011.
Lindy says:
Thanks for posting your scenario! I’m gonna check my new store tonight.
Theresa says:
Looks like I may be making another trip to CVS— I just came back from getting the wipes!!
Ashley says:
last time I did an order at cvs for some brand of naturals shampoo and paid with my ecb because I thought i was going to get the try me free money back to make up for “loosing” my ecb they said they would send me the money because I didn’t pay anything
Kari says:
I did this deal yesterday and I’m crossing my fingers they will honor my rebate since my total was $0.16 after I paid with ecbs. I also used a $5 off $15 to make my transaction a $9.82 moneymaker. More details are on my blog if anybody is interested.
Julie says:
What’s your blog address?
Kara says:
Looks like http://citysaver.blogspot.com/
Frugal Finds says:
Yes that’s exactly what I did. I paid nothing OOP because I knew I wanted to do the MIR. I am really hoping it works. Same thing with the bioluxe- I did bogo plus paid nothing OOP, but the ‘free’ one was the conditioner and the MIR is for the conditioner- I just circled the shampoo on my receipt in hopes they will see both are the same price and both are their products…we will see in a few weeks!
Bridget says:
Are the CVS extra care bucks the same as walgreens RR’s? When can you use them?? Do you have to aquire so many before using?
I rarely go there, but have few of them close by.
Savnformyzoo says:
extra care bucks are like cash – where wags RR is a manufacturer coupon – I like ECB and CVS better bug WAGS has more deals i need
supersaversarah says:
Plus, the other nice thing about ECB is that you have more time to use them. You typically have a month, whereas RR are two weeks.
Bridget says:
Thanks, I didnt even realize that you have to use RR’s with in 2 weeks. I always split my transaction and use them as soon as I get them. Good to know!
Still dont understand when I can use them? Can I split a transaction and use them same day?
Jaime says:
Yes, you can use ECBS the same way.
Ashley says:
So far I haven’t found any with try me free peelies. I did notice that many had $2 or $3 off peelies that had expired but were still affixed to the packages so I imagine the store would honor them.
Carrie says:
I gave up on WAGS a long time ago. The one in my town is not coupon friendly and their policy is difficult to understand. I prefer Rite Aid’s Single Check Rebate….bc they give cash back! But CVS is great too. Going to try and get the wipes today. Thanks Collin! I’ll have to look into the make up also.
Ashley says:
Same here! I don’t even bother with Walgreens anymore – lol I don’t even look at their ad because I don’t want to know the deals. Every time I would go in there something wouldn’t work out right. I love Rite Aid and CVS though, never have any problems!
Amanda says:
Got mine yesterday with a rebate peelie
My rebate dosen’t expire until 01/2011
tiffany says:
Looks like another trip to CVS is in store; gotta get some tuna too.
crystal says:
this sort of make up was not even at my cvs last night?? to bad
Frugal Finds says:
I noticed that the bamboo wear was NOT by the other physicians formula products at my CVS. It was out on its own stand along with some other products like Covergirl clean foundation…almost like a ‘highlight’ to the makeup section. If you are really interested in this deal, you may want to check again. HTH
Amy says:
I guess that would be why I couldn’t find it. Thanks!!
Gwen says:
this is wonderful ~ i got some of this yesterday~ now i am going to mail my rebate today! has anyone ever used this brand?? i love trying new products for FREE!!!
Lindy says:
Yes, I have tried several of their products. LOVE ALL their bronzers (some have SPF, brighteners! Not their liquid foundation (had to throw out, terrible smell). HTH!
Stephany says:
I found this one and the Shimmer Strips at Rite Aid.
michelle says:
I just got back from CVS…………….score!!! I’m very new to all this so I was excited.
I bought 7 refill packs of Huggies (all they had). I had a $4/$20 coupon so I still needed something else, and remembered right before I left reading the PF post so I also snagged the compact with a peelie on it and there was a $ 2 peelie coupon that was mentioned- it was expired but they honored it. so total for 7 bags of wipes, and the compact was $ 20.13, then I get to mail in for the 6.99 back and got a $5 ECB. This was only my 3rd time ever in a CVS. So excited.
Lindy says:
I did (3) Physican’s Formula Rebates last February, it took 3 MONTHS to get all three rebates back. I had done coupon deals at WAGS then when they were BOGO and used a $5 manufact. bronzer coupon (large pink and still VALID until 6/10)!! I DID get the price I listed on the receipt BEFORE coupons! Hope that helps and they are still doing their rebates this way. BTW, thanks for the CVS moneymaker deal, I LOVE many of the Physician’s Formula products and our 1ST CVS just opened Sunday!!!! WAHOO!!!
Carrie says:
I did this deal at CVS and then went to Target and found a $2 off peelie for any Physicians Formula product. It would have sweetened the deal more! But Target had some lip glosses on clearance for $3.47 so it wasn’t a total loss. This is such a great little compact; I opened it right away to use!
Randi says:
Thanks! I just got back from cvs… got 4 of the huggies wipes (and the $2 off coupon that came out of the cvs machine)…got the compact with the try me free peelie, got Renpure Organics conditioner with free peelie and organix conditioner with free peelie… lots of try me frees at my cvs…. had to do 3 transactions, but had 2 $3 of $15 coupons… I did pretty well, just hoping the rebates work out! no peelies on the bioluxe though…
Amanda says:
Thanks for the moneymaker Collin! I got the last compact with the peelie on it! The extra care bucks says on the sign that its on for the actual makeup but I got the compact and it printed out a $5 ECB!!!! Thanks for all your time you spend on this blog it really helps a lot of people out
Lisa says:
Has anyone had a problem getting the mail in rebate form? I can’t seem to locate it using the web address on the peelie.
Lisa says:
Disregard last post, I just need to learn how to spell.
Anonymous says:
I see….I like how the manufact. had a try me free. for this empty compact It probably was already free, they just want you to buy the product.
Chantelle says:
I got both the wipes and the physicians formula make up with the try me free peelie and used my $5 off of $15. Woo-hoo!!!
