Isn’t it actually fun to get the mail now?? LOL! I think our Postman doesn’t mind anymore b/c we are keeping them in business!!! Maybe they won’t have as many layoffs b/c we are all getting our rebates checks, free magazines & free samples thanks to Collin!!!

That’s Right! I used to think the mail man was going to dread delivering my mail but then I realized that the more I get delivered the more job security he has. Now I think the opposite. He must be glad there are people like us who gets lots of mail!

My hubby’s a carrier too!!! With all the chaos going on with the USPS I’m THRILLED to be able to support my hubby and fellow USPS employees.

I keep waiting for the postman to leave a note asking that I keep my incoming samples and mail to a minimum. I live in a condo and we have community style mailboxes. We have 2 large ones where if it won’t fit in yours they put the key in yours and your mail in the big box. I am quickly learning most the time when the key to the big box is missing, it means it is in my mail box. O well I am sure he is not as mad as our mail man was when he had to deliver 2- 200 pound giant army boxes and 6 duffle bags my husband had mailed to himself from germany to Texas. That mail man actually told me he had to fill his truck up with my hubbys stuff, deliver it then go back for his usual mail.

I asked my mailman if I should get a bigger mailbox (it is usually so full he can barely get it closed
) He said no way he will just bring it to the door. I think he just has fun cramming everything to see if he can make it fit. I heart my mailbox. LOL!!!

I had a mail carrier that liked to cram things in my box a little too much. He actually bent a hardcover children’s book that I had bought on eBay in order to shove it in the box – and it was an out of print book, oh I was so mad!!!

I got that shampoo yesterday! It smells so good – I’ve got to use up my Renpure (still havent gotten my rebate from them)…and I’ve got a bunch of Dove shampoo from another deal and I dont really like it either, LOL! Ugh! I do love the aveeno shampoo/conditioner and am excited to try this pantene stuff, hope i like it! With all my free samples of hair smoothing serums – my hair has been looking pretty decent lately

I’ve been getting lots of freebies lately too- it’s soooo fun! This week I got my free Heluva Good coupon (I bought a pound of cheese!), I got a sample of Olay shower gel, I got a hair care sample, the Burt’s Bee toothpaste, 2 pens, and a free LeapFrog Book (from buying sooo much YoBaby yogurt). I think that’s all. I wish I was getting some free giftcards in the mail- that would be great. I did get a free $10 iTunes gift card this week for being part of another group and I got a $10 Overstock giftcard for doing a survey. I’ve also been racking up the Amazon giftcards from Swagbucks and I think I can get a $10.00 giftcard from MyPoints to a place I choose. Exciting!

I found the onion dip at Schnucks grocery stores in St Louis, MO, but they said they didn’t carry the cheese. My whole family loved the dip. Good luck!

I was just thinking the other day that the postal people must be jealous seeing all of the samples in the mail and low and behold one of my Uni-ball pen packages was empty and the strong tape removed from one end of the package (sticky part still there). We had received 4 Uni-ball packages in one day. My husband and kids wanted to do it too. Three packages had a pen in it and the one didn’t.
HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD TAMPERED MAIL?

YES i have had tampered mail more then a few times. Like when i get my free samples or coupons, the boxes will be torn open or the envelopes will be torn, like they someone was trying to steal it or see what was inside. It annoys me, cuz i know someone was trying to steal the contents. I have received an envelope for a free coupon before, and the letter inside stated their was a coupon enclosed, but their was no coupon, since someone opened it & took it. I don’t know why ppl do this, exspecially when your exciting about receiving it. But yes it has happened to me a few times. I’m not sure if i can do anything about it or fill a complaint with the post office. I just hope it stops happening cuz i love getting my mail.

I had a soap sample that arrived only as an empty box. The post office put a sticker on it saying the box arrived to them empty. I find that hard to believe unless they had opened it and looked in.

My boyfriend was laughing at me today when he brought in the mail because I was excited we got a box. I opened it to find a Wear Ever wooden recipe box with all the index cards. Nice Freebie! I have also had freebies taken. One of the goofiest ones was a pack of gum. I opened it to find an empty envelope and boy were my girls mad. LOL I told them obviously someone needed it more than they did. I mean gum? Really?

Yeah I agree, Collin is fantastic!!! My hubby and the maiman both say we need a bigger mail box now. I thought i was big as it is but maybe they are right. Just got a full size shampoo from vocal point along with three magazines, rebate checks and regular bills and it was stuffed. Darn, guess she will just have to come to the front door to deliver from now on….. thanks

I have the mailbox problem too but our homeowners association requires everyone to have the same mailbox… ugh! So, we can’t get a bigger one. I bet if they got a letter from my postal carrier they would change the restrictions. hahaha.

I use to completely hate getting the mail—-who likes getting bills??? (not very exciting)…..now it’s so fun to see what’s in the mail, whether it’s a rebate check, samples, some awesome coupons…I guess it’s the little things in life…these things help perk up my day!!!! (I love getting free snack foods–nice little afternoon treat…yum)

oh, I forgot–that turtle ring was like the cutest thing !!! I was completely blown away and couldn’t believe it was made out of beads and sequins….even my tween daughter thought is was pretty cool…(it takes a lot to impress kids this age…lol)

My mailcarrier does really dislike me between being an online seller and getting these samples – and making sure the gate is closed to keep the bunny and dog in…poor guy!

FYI, sign up for as many free items as possible because the post office is talking about not delivering mail on saturdays no more due to people using there computers more and more to paying bills and other things online. I asked our friend which is a mailman and he said its all the junk mail that is helping them keep there job right now.

I also receive alot of JUNK mail. Since I do not recycle, I am canceling all mag subscriptions with the exception of ALL YOU…too many coupons to miss that one, anyway I am feeling guilty about the land fills I am filling and hoping that all this paper in my trash can is being picked out by someone somewhere. I wish there was a recycling truck in my community.

Lisa, I’m not sure where you live but our Walmart has a bin for plastic bottles, another one for glass, and another one for newspapers. I am there every weekend anyway getting meat and produce so I just take all my weekly recycling with me and stop by the bins before I go in the store. They are located at the very end of the parking lot so its super easy to just toss the stuff in my trunk before I leave and unload it before I go in. They also have a box inside to recycle plastic shopping bags. We are a family of 4 and before we started recycling last year, we threw away a bag of “trash” every single day, now its only 2-3 times a week. HTH!
