I’ve only done CVS deals once (it went great, but I just never went back), so I’m a bit lost! If the ECB limit for a deal is more than 1, can those be done all in the same transaction, or does each ECB deal need to be a separate transaction?

Ex: The Easter Candy ECB has a limit of 2/household. Can I earn both of these in one transaction with a $20 candy purchase?

    Thanks for the help!

    • Tara says:

you can do them all in one trans or separate….some choose to do separate because you get separate tickets for your ecbs……so you would get two tickets for 3.00 in ecbs instead of one ticket for 6.00 in ecbs…..hth

  • Gracie says:

To those of you who do both CVS and Walgreens deals, which store do you feel is better for deals, availability of sale merchandise, ameniable cashiers, and ease of use of their rewards programs? I have done Walgreens, and now have a new CVS opening nearby in April. I have pretty much found using Target deals so much better than Walgreens, but thought I might give CVS a try. I have made so many wasted trips to Walgreens because they are usually out of their super good deals, unless you go on Sunday, which I choose not to do. Also, the RR are not so good unless I buy milk on sale, or can roll them into another good deal, which isn’t always there before the expiration on the RR. Walgreens is so rediculously high-priced it is a waste of my $RR to just buy anything at their everyday high price. I find Target $5 gift cards to be so much more valuable than a $5 RR. Thanks for your input.

    • fuzzymitten says:

CVS ECB’s last longer usually a least a month. It can be hit or miss at CVS too. Sometimes, you can find stuff if you go on Sunday, but I had a raincheck that I had to wait like 3 weeks before two different CVS stores re-stocked. The sales can be good, but normally the items not on sale are expensive. You need to have and Extra Care card to get the sale prices.
Personally, I liked it better when the stores were Long’s Drugs, they had more inventory and the prices were lower, even without sales. You didn’t need a card to get sales either. If you can find clearance at CVS, though, you can find some bargains, just watch out for the food, some of it is over 2 years old.

    • Okay I do not shop at Walgreens, but that is because when I first started couponing CVS looked better to me and I knew that I would not need Rite-Aid, CVS, AND Walgreens and that if I tried to keep up with ECBs and RR that I would probably have a lot that expired or had to get spent on expensive not on sale items. I am still to this day partial to CVS, just because I have seen so many good deals at CVS… and our CVS cashiers are really nice.

Of course Rite-Aid rocks even more than CVS IMO!!!

    • Lacey says:

I started out last year doing Walgreens. I loved it the first couple of months. Then, they got real nasty about coupons and even would try to limit me to one of an item. It was just a pain in the rear to deal with. I even went all the way to the District Manager twice. He never would call me back as he said he would after each time we talked. The problems never got resolved. I LOVE CVS!!!!!!!!!! My store is awesome. Everyone there is super nice. We had our first manager for almost all of last year. She was great. Since her, we are on our 2nd manager. I was really worried, but they are all great. CVS is much easier to work with coupons. At Wags, if you have a Manuf. coupon for each item you are buying and want to pay the difference with a Register Reward, you have to grab a filler item (basically buy something you don’t need or want) just so the coupon to product ratio is even. It is ridiculous!!!! It may not seem like a big deal, but you can really end up with a bunch of junk you don’t want. A few times I would pack up all that junk w/ receipts in hand and go return it….which I had every right to do. I didn’t want that extra stuff. CVS is so not like that. I was scared of CVS at first and the prices looked so high. You have to learn how to do CVS. It is like playing a game! : )

      • Amanda says:

I just started doing CVS and WAGs this year… so only 3 months in, and I am loving CVS! For the last 3 weeks, they have actually paid me to shop there by earning more ECBs than what I spent OOP! Walgreens RR’s expire too soon for me so it seems like every week I have to make another trip and this week, there wasn’t anything that I thought was a good deal buy hey its use it or lose it…. I am lucky and have 3 CVS’s and 3 WAG’s all within a 10 mile radius of my house so if one is out of a really good deal, I have other options. My CVS does run out a lot, but I took one of their surveys and make sure I took off points for this and left a comment about it so hopefully that will change soon. But if I had to pick, I would go with CVS… Good Luck!

        • crystal says:

I started using coupons at the begining of 2010, while walgreens have some good deals and i have about 3 within 5 miles from home i just love cvs i know the managers i know the shift supervisor they are great ,the manager even shows be deals that i don’t even know about..so yes CVS rocks for me…not just because of the coupons but i love getting back BUCKS even sweeter with coupons… Thanks to Collin and my savior Jesus for all the savings!!

    • Shimla says:

I shopped at CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid. I found that CVS corporate is stronger than other two stores because they solve any issues immediately by calling the stores most of the time. Some stores take expired extra bucks upto 1-3 weeks. Their rainchecks never expired. You can use many extra bucks to pay your total. They take return usually within two months, sometimes they allow additional time to take return like 15-30 days more (earlier they allowed 6 months even the receipt show 2 months for return) and give money card. But all of these features are absent in walgreens. So, I stopped shopping at walgreens. They offer different kinds of store coupons but it takes lots of time to find all those coupons, such as, coloring books, diabetes magazines etc. Savings at walgreens is very time consuming. u must have to use rr, raincheck and do return within 1 month. Most of the times they do not want to take return if you use rr. also, they do not want to issue rr from rainchecks. But if you want to use many coupons and buy many products, and if you have enough time to calculate every deals correctly, walgreen is good and there is a possibility of huge savings. rarely, some stores honor raincheck upto 2 months and issue rr in a store card. On the other hand, I found,if the cashier is nice, Rite Aid is the best. Their single check rebate program is perfect for me because I don’t have to go to any store to use my expiring extra bucks or rr.

      • Laura says:

I shop at Rite Aid, WAGS, and CVS (although I’m new to CVS shopping)

I’ve gotten the best deals at Rite Aid : ) Walgreens is usually my go to store, since theres tons of 24 hrs ones near me and I’ve scored some killer clearance deals w/o coupons. I also find the cashiers and mngrs at the WAGS in my area to be WAYYYYYYYYY more coupon friendly! Everytime I go into CVS I have to fight for my coupon. Last time I went in the manager refused to let me use the Herbal Essence FREE styler w/ purch coupon when buying the travel size. : (

  • Tammy says:

The SC Johnson rebate link is not working. Would there be another way to get the form?

  • Nicole says:

I’m excited about the excedrin on sale starting tomorrow. I have 3 free excedrin coupons for the product. I hope the extra strength is included in the sale, since my free coupons are for that product. The coupons i have are valued at free up to $5.99 so it’s a great deal, and i have to use them a.s.a.p since they expire on the 25th! Super excited to get my sunday paper tomorrow! Can’t wait. ;)

    • Nicole says:

Nevermind it looks like they have a better deal for this at walgreens for the 250ct, after the in ad coupon, the march coupon, & then my free coupon, it will be FREE! ;) COOL!

  • Stacy says:

Cant Wait to the Do the Pampers Deal Tomorrow!!

    • Anonymous says:

My daughter is expecting her first child in May. It has been a very long time since I have shopped for diapers. What is a good price to stock up on diapers?

      • couponlovingmommy says:

I generally try to get Pampers/Huggies diapers for around 15 cents a diaper and less than that if I can! My baby is in size 3 diapers, so newborn ones are probably gonna be a little cheaper, but that’s how I figure out if it’s a good diaper sale!

      • This diaper deal is a really good one! I generally pay between $2-$5 for Jumbo packs… have gotten them as cheap as a dollar before but that was only once at Rite-Aid.

Also, I am hearing rumors that the Pampers ECBs are actually running as limit 3. Check your receipt after buying two to see if it says limit reached… you may be able to get 3 pampers jumbo packs with the $3 ECBs.

  • Anna says:

There’s also a 1.00 coupon in All You for the All Bran cereal, which makes it 97 cents.

    • collin says:

Thanks Anna…I added that to the deal scenario!

      • Roxy says:

I have a question, I am new to cvsing…..If I use my $4 ecb on colgate this week and I have a $1 dollar off man coupon, what happens to my $1? Do I get back or does it print one ecb for colgate and one for the overage of the ecb? This sounds confusing but if anyone understands please let me know.

Example….already have $4 ecb…going to use it on colgate 3.99 but have $1 off man coupon so it will be 2.99 but I am using my $4 ecb….what happens to that $1ecb I did not use?

  • Gery says:

Ok here is a little more to save but u must go tomorrow. Publix (@ least mine here in Doral, FL) has this for $12.99 but u can add the $2 cpn from the publix Stock Piling and u can get it for $6.99. But this cpn expires tomorrow..So hurry up…good luck!

There’s a $1 Q for the any Ivory soap product that came in the P&G Rouge magazine last month. It will make the 3-pack of soap free.

  • Kay Borkowski says:

A heads up for the Simpsonville/Greenville SC area. We went into our CVS on Fairview and Harrison Bridge tonight to finish our Dove deal. I checked for the grass and filler eggs…..NONE and they had not received any! The manager called 4 other stores, one on Wade Hampton, none had them. I am doing a Lenten egg project with my class at church tomorrow and will have to pay RETAIL at walmart:( …..a buck a dozen was the cheapest I saw them. But I will definitely see if I can get a rain check, even though this is only a 3 day sale

  • April R. says:

For the Easter candy deal you can get Snickers and use the $.50/2

  • Salina says:

The Pampers deal IS a limit of 3 instead of 2 as it states. I did this deal myself yesterday and was able to do it 3 times before my receipt said I reached my limit. Awesome deal!!!

  • Tammy says:

For the Pampers deal, are you able to roll the ECBs? Meaning, can I buy 1 pkg, get my $3 ECB and then use that to buy another pkg of diapers?

  • Stacy says:

I went this morning in easley, sc to do the diapper deal I bought 3 packs got my $9 ECBs and it still says print limit not reached. I went to another CVS and did the same deal on my husbands card and his also says print limit not reached! werid!

  • SusanD says:

I’m so disappointed. Went to CVS here in Michigan this morning with coupons in hand for lots of the deals posted and was shocked. Our ad is not the same as the one everyone’s using for posting deals. What’s up with that?? I’m new and I’ve learned Walgreens has 2 different ads weekly (depending on area here). Does CVS have different ads for different areas or is this something new??? On a good note our ad had Dawn 2/$2 get $1ECB back. Thanks!

    • kim says:

I’m in Florida and was going to do the Easter Candy deal (spend $10.00 get $3.00ECB) but my CVS circular doesn’t show this. I’m going to try it but not sure if the ecb’s will print.

      • Lacey says:

I believe the candy deal may actually be a monthly deal b/c it has showed up on my receipt for a few weeks now. If I have to buy a small M&Ms for filler, it adds it to the running total towards my $3 EBs. You might try it. I know it can be a pain, but if it doesn’t work, return the stuff. I love CVS, but one complaint about my store and others is they don’t have monthly deals tagged or posted in the stores I shop at. You just have to wing it and hope you get the EB. If not, I sit there and return it. Usually it goes fine for me.

    • Craig says:

Aaagh man! your right! Im in West MI and did a quick scan and dont see any of these deals listed either. Next.

    • kim says:

Not a monthly deal in South Florida. I did buy over $20.00 dollars of easter candy and there was no ECB’s. The weekly ad is different in my circular than the one shown on iheartcvs.com. This has never happened before with CVS regional ads. Might need to keep a closer eye as not to make unnecessary trips if you don’t see something in your ad that is being posted. Oh well, got free toothpaste and dawn liquid soap.

      • Amanda says:

I just tried the Diapers and the candy deals. And neither gave me back bucks. I was able to get back 6 for 2 packs of diapers, but not for the third. As well as the candy, there was not bucks back. Not sure why?

        • Amanda says:

Ok- so I was wrong, the pampers said it on my reciept. That I could do 1 more! I am very excited to do this one! Can anyone tell me were it is advertised that the candy is giving back 3 EWB?

  • Nicki says:

I wanted to purchase the Crest ProHealth Rinse but at my store the larger size (which the $2 off coupon specified) was not on sale, only the smaller size. I ended up getting the Scope with my $1 coupon for 99 cents after ECBs. I just wondered if anyone else had the same issue?

    • Anna says:

Did you have the correct coupon? In the 2/7 P&G there’s a $2 coupon for the smaller size. But, in the 3/7 P&G the $2 coupon is for the larger size.

  • michelle says:

    Hi all,
Just got a GREAT deal on mens deodorant and body wash at my CVS (asheville NC):

Found Gilette deodorant clearanced at $2.25 – had $2/1 MQ – paid $.25
Had a MQ for “buy 1 Gilette deo, get 1 Free body wash” – so got body wash free

Found Old Spice deo (ever clear) clearanced at $1.37 – bought 2 – paid $2.74 for 2
Had MQ for $1/2 – making it $1.74 for 2
Had MQ for “buy 1 Old Spice deo, get 1 body wash free” – got body wash free
Did the Old Spice transaction (above) twice.

Overall, walked out with 5 deo’s and 3 body washes for a grand total of $1.99! And of course I had some ECB’s so it was all free. YAY!!

My CVS would not let me use my manufacturer’s coupon on clearance items. Last week I bought a Right Guard deodorant that was on clearance for $2.35 and I had a manufacturer’s coupon for $1.50 off, but the cashier refused to take it.

      What is their policy?

The CVS stores in Michigan have changed that ad format and alot less things are in it. It’s irritating to read cause everything has been enlarged and some pages only have 3 items on them, Additionally – alot of the items highlighted on these match up are not in the ad in my market. This week none of it was in my ad and my entire ad blowed.

$10 easter candy=$3 ecbs is not on for Hershey’s easter bagged candy here in Northern CA. The ecb did not print and I had a knowledgeable manager try to find the event number so he could force the ecb to print and he only found the Brown and Haley almond roca for easter that would print.

I went to my CVS in Dayton, Ohio today and bought the Mr. Potato Head on sale from $9.99 down to $4.99 and then used a $2.00 off coupon from Playskool for a bargain price of $2.99. I believe the coupon came from coupon.com website that I linked to from here some time back.

My CVS here in Texas told me that the ECB’s never expire?? Is that true? I don’t want to chance it, but that is what I was told the other day. Also, there was a $5 off coupon ( I can’t remember which paper, but I think in 3/7 PG) for the Airwick i motions that are 4.99 this week. I had 9 coupons and I bought the last 8 that they had. All Free!!! WoooHooo! That was fun!
