And I have a $10/$50 @ TRU to sweeten the deal…can we say Xmas shopping has started? πŸ™‚

  2. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

If you want to price match @ Target and do not have the TRU ad, Kmart has the Walk N Ride for the same price if you have that ad (I am doubting anyone actually wants to go to Kmart!)

  3. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Just picked up my TS 1 & 2 and bought Ratatouille all for just $15!! Such an awesome deal especially since they come with the free movie tickets!

    • Ann Dee

How did you do this deal?

      • Crystal

I went to Target this morning & price matched the toys r us price and paid $6.38 for both movies!!!!

  4. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I have a 20% off coupon that would sweeten the deal more for the walk n ride, just $7 πŸ™‚

    • MO

How did you obtain a 20% off coupon? Was it in their ad?

  5. Carrie

I picked up T1 and T2 but they came up at 16.99 each. A little more for me but I still can’t complain with 17.99 for two movies with free movie tickets.

    • Ana Mata

why didn’t you use the $10 off Qs to purchase them?

  6. sue

just got back from TRU and did the strawberry shortcake deal. They had several sets on clearance AND they have an extra promo of spend $15 and get a free strawberry shortcake doll in a purse! so i got 7 dolls for $17.32!

    • Olivia Smith

Woohoo– I snagged the same deal. I was so psyched to have these cute items for gifts– and you even get an extra one!!!! πŸ™‚

    • Julia

We got the $15 bonus deal also. We snagged the swimming pool set with a doll and then two double doll sets and the purse and doll for under $18. They also had a set with a doll together with a dvd on clearance for $4.98 at my toysrus in Springfield, MO.

  7. Jessica

I price matched to Walmart for the Toy Story movies and paid $13.98 oop! Great price- thanks Collin!!!

  8. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

is the walk & ride price only good today? if not, does anyone know when it ends?

    • Patty R

The walk & ride price is good until this Saturday 3/7/10

      • Patty R

Oopps..I mean good until Saturday 3/27/10

  9. Diana

Just got back from TRU, Went in to do the TS 1&2 deal. Upon checkout, I was told that I could only use one of the $10 coupons since it was a promotional deal (register already took off $10 for buying both). Manager came over to confirm as well. So, the total was $23.98 before tax for TS 1&2. Really bummed since I was expecting to be able to use both coupons! Anyone else having this issue???

    • clodyo

      Diana,
That stinks! I had such a nice cashier today at TRU- she made sure that I had every available coupon so I would get the best deal. I, of course did have TS1 and TS2 coupons as well as Strawberry Shortcake coupons. Maybe you should call TRU corporate and inquire.

    • danielle

i went this morning and had no issue…there was also a guy in front of me who did the deal twice…hmmm..i hate when stores change their minds, i will be wary of doing another movie deal there from now on.

    • Renee

Ugh! I am frustrated for you! I would second the motion to call TRU corporate – sounds like they were making up their own rules… πŸ™

    • christine w.

TRU in Dayton would not even let me use 1 coupon! They said they cannot accept printed coupons off the internet. Asked for manager and she agreed with the cashier. Gladly went to Target to give them my business…I like Target much better anyway!

      • Rachel

I went to the TRU in Dayton (the one near Dayton Mall) around 1 pm and was able to use both $10 coupons. I had preordered the movies last week, so I got The Princess and the Frog cheap. I walked out paying $5 today (paid $11.99 plus tax for preorder and TPATF last week). I asked a clerk before I picked up the movies and she said they were accepting this Disney coupon. Sorry they didn’t let you use the coupons.

    • Sandra

That is a bummer they wouldn’t let you use both coupons! That doesn’t seem right. I was able to use both of my $10.00 coupons this morning in Orlando, FL.

    • Diana

Hi again! Well, called corporate and she said she wasn’t sure if they could take 2 coupons and she would get back to me in a few days.Geez! I decided to call the manager because of all the feedback on here about most being able to use the coupon. Explained the situation to the supervisor (manager wasn’t available). He said that the DO accept more than 1 coupon and have been accepting 2 all day. He also said that the manager was new! So long story short, went back for a refund on the coupons. They ended up giving me $10 for the coupon plus $5 (extra for my time she said) + tax. Crazy story, but I just had to share that I actually had a nice ending with this deal!!!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Good for you. I did the deal this afternoon at Toys R Us, and she said people had been flooding the store all day with the Q’s, and she couldn’t believe how awesome of deals we were getting. I am betting Collin has a lot more followers in WV than I previously thought!

  10. Nicole

I got an email that Toys R Us was hiding eggs on their site to find. These eggs will then produce coupons. Anyone find any???? Reminds me of Old Navy.

  11. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

i just came back from tru and they are giving everyone problems with using both coupons if you reserved the movie. they only wanted to take one coupon and claimed they were loosing money. i finally got the manager to accept both of my coupons but he said they would not be accepting any more coupons from anyone.

    • Ann Dee

I would call corporate/customer service. It is not fair that some people are able to use both coupons and some aren’t ESPECIALLY once they have you locked in with the pre-order. Also, Target and Wal-Mart seem to be taking both coupons so let them know that you will shop elsewhere if they aren’t going to help.

If enough people let them know what’s going on I think we can make a difference.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sad! I had NO problems at all using both coupons, my total came to $5.66 and the cashier even asked me how I did it!

    • Anne

I haven’t gone to pick up my movies yet, but if anyone else runs into this problem I would direct them to the fine print on the coupon. When using a mfr coupon the store does NOT lose money. They are reimbursed the face value of the coupon, plus a small handling fee, by the mfr.

  12. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

thanks patty r! is it advertised in their flyer online?

  13. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My Target would not price match with the TRU ad. They said it was “on promotion through us already, so we can’t match it?” What!?

  14. Amanda

Hmm.. I dont see in the ad about the fisherprice being bogo, just the little tykes

    • MommySpendsLess

I agree! I looked at the Fisher Price toys on their website and they were not marked BOGO like the Little Tikes ones. I pulled up the weekly ad and it looks to me like the Fisher Price dollhouse accessory sets are BOGO, but NOT the rest of the Fisher Price toys.

      • Nicole

Agreed. Fisher Price toys are NOT buy one get one right now (in store or online).

  15. Irene Graves

Bought TS – 1 & 2 Blue Ray Combo at target this morning. A few dollars more than TRU, but I love to shop at Target and wanted to give them my business. Glad I did after hearing about problems with coupons at TRU. Also Got 2 monopoly games for 2.00 each and a rain check for Connect 4. I will definately have enough toys to share at Christmas time.

  16. Summer

Does anyone know if the B1G1 free for Fisher Price toys is today only? I only saw the Little Tikes in the ad, but would love to get a couple of FP items instead!

    • MommySpendsLess

From what I could tell it’s just the Fisher Price dollhouse accessories that are BOGO, and not the rest of the FP toys…

  17. mireille

Thank you, Collin for everything! I just came fromTRU, with TS 1& 2 deal. They accepted both my coupons, so I paid $10.36 yesterday and $5.42 today. Total: $15.78 ($13.98 before taxes) for 3 DVDs and a P&F jewelry box! And a movie ticket!
Thank you, again! I am a big fan of yours! God bless you!

  18. Angela

I price matched at my local Target and got both Toy Story 1 and 2 combo packs for a grand total of $4.22! Even better, I have someone buying the blu-rays from me for $5 each, so I actually will make money! That wasn’t the plan b/c I originally expected to pay $13.98, but I got such an awesome deal! πŸ™‚ THANK YOU for posting about it! I wouldn’t have even bothered if you hadn’t!!!

    • Ann Dee

How did you get both for $4.22?. I went today to Wal-Mart and price matched and my total was 16 something TOTAL for both.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

U had to do the deal at TRU for the PATF movie, and prebuy TS1 and TS2 to get this deal.

  19. Angela

That does not make sense to me because the coupons are for each movie so you should of been allowed to use them. I went there this morning and use both of my coupons at TRU and another lady behind me did the same thing

  20. Jennifer

OK I just got back from Target and I took the Toys R Us ad to Target and did the price compare. They matched the $16.99 for each movie (because I bought 2 movies) and then I gave the lady my coupons and she told me my total was $5.92 for BOTH!! So, I paid her $5.92. As I was walking out I was looking at receipt because I didn’t want to rip her off and not only did they price match for $16.99, they took a EXTRA 10,00 off for buying 2 (DVD/Blu Ray combo Promo) and then my 2 $10,00 coupons. For the grand total $5.92 πŸ™‚

    • Jennifer

BTW I’m in Las Vegas and I did 2 different tranactions at 2 different Target stores Decatur and Boca Park.

    • Laurie

NICE! Don’t you love it when things like that happen? I pre ordered at TRU and did that $15 off any $19.99 or higher Disney DVD thing. When I rang up, it took off the $15 AND another $5 for some unknown Disney promo…so my DVD was FREE! So exciting when things like that happen!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

        Same thing happened to me!

  21. Heidi

Heads up, the computer at my Toys R Us accepted both the $10 upgrade coupon for each bluray/dvd item AND the $5 bluray/dvd coupon for each title, making both $4.98 total + two free movie tickets! This is a YMMV as it may depend on the mood of the cashier, but at TRU, they cashier told the man checking out with them that they’ll accept the coupons if the computer accepts them….what a DEAL! I guess the coupons are registered as two separate promotional items (for now, at least!) Look closely at other DVD purchase deals, with offers for free items with purchase!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

What $5 coupon did you use?

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I printed out $5 coupons for both 1&2 a little while back on coupons.com. Though I can’t remember what zip code Collin posted. Might need to search her site for those posts in regards to Toy Story. HTH πŸ™‚

  22. Jennifer

Went to TRU this morning & got TS1 & TS2 and used both coupons. The cashier did check with the manager to make sure that they could take internet coupons, which the manager confirmed that they did. Even the cashier was in awe of the total. :o) These are 2 of my sons favorite movies and I was thrilled to be able to get them at such a great price. The free movie tickets were just an added bonus! Thanks Collin for all you do!

  23. Heidi

You have to go to the link and use the codes provided by Collin earlier at Disneymovierewards.com.

The $5 off coupons for bluray/DVD is below. I looked them up when I got home. IMPORTANT: be sure you print off the ones that are good for the US, not Canada….you can print each of all the coupons a total of two times using your back button.

    The link is here: https://disney.go.com/disneyvideos/disneymagicalsavings/?cmp=dmov_dvd_dmsave_url_toystorysave5

  24. Mitzi

Thanks for the Toy Story deal information. My WalMart price matched the TRU ad plus allowed the $10 coupons. What a deal! My DSs will be thrilled!!

  25. Laurie

I pre ordered TS 1 & 2 and got $15 off any Disney movie priced $19.99 or more. For some reason, it took off an EXTRA $5, so I got my $19.99 movie for free! I did this deal twice (gonna give the movies as gifts to my sister). The second time I pre ordered, they had the free Princess & Frog jewelry box with any Disney Princess DVD purchase. So the second time I did my pre order, grabbed Mulan (for free again), and got my free box. SO, my out of pocket expense, after taxes, was $32.16 for FOUR BLU RAY COMBO PACKS, MULAN DVD, DISNEY PRINCESS TALES DVD, JEWELRY BOX, AND FOUR MOVIE TICKETS. That is an awesome deal considering a Blu Ray combo pack is normally $29.

  26. Laurie

Oh, and my TRU had no problems using both $10 coupons on each order for me. I think it’s a YMMV sort of thing.

  27. Camille

To make the Strawberry Shortcake deal even better, they have a special right now (at least at my store they did) that if you purchase at least $14.99 in Strawberry Shortcake products, you get a free Strawberry Shortcake in a purse valued at $5.49 (and is super cute) for FREE! So, I purchased $20.00 worth of Strawberry Shortcake product and got the Shortcake in a purse for free. Plus I was able to use the $5.00 off of a $20.00 shortcake purchase coupon.

  28. Julie

Spokane Valley didn’t have any in stock when their doors opened this morning. Didn’t even have enough shipped for the pre-orders. They had no idea when more would arrive and wouldn’t give a raincheck. I don’t know about all of you, but I’m really sick of their “policies” and am now refusing to purchase anything from them. Every time I visit that store it ends in frustration.

  29. Julie

Oh, I went to Walmart (which I equally despise, lol) and they matched the deal.

  30. Amanda C.

I went and got both movies this morning at my TRU. Had no problems at all using the $10 coupons. The cashier even asked if I had them and when I told her yes, she said “Oh good, I printed mine this morning!”. And then we talked about what a great deal it was.

  31. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The Toys R Us in Brookfield, WI would not allow me to use the $10 coupons on the Toy Story Blu-Ray DVD’s – because I had already reserved them and got the credit towards my Princess and the Frog DVD I bought them anyway. Per other’s suggestions on this website I did call Toys R Us Corportate Guest Relations. The lady was very nice but couldn’t give me an answer and is sending it further up the chain in corporate. She said it could take up to 3 days to get an answer. I’m ok with that as long as if the answer is yes that Toys R Us will make good on my coupons. I’ll follow up when I hear more.

    • Paula

I just received my call from Toys R Us – all they could tell me is that the movies were on sale and they don’t accept coupons for sale items???? Anyways I nicely explained to the rep that I didn’t understand as others all over the country were getting the deals and that their competitors were price matching and accepting the coupons. I told her it made no sense to me that all the stores were different. The Rep repeated the same thing that they couldn’t take my coupons. I nicely asked what Toys R Us could do to rectify the situation as I was very disappointed, a rewards member, a good customer and I had spent over $100 the same day. She took my name/address and is mailing me a gift card – don’t know the value. The Rep then told me to remember they won’t take coupons for sale items in the future…..now I’m thinking – wait Strawberry Shortcake was a sale item and i had NO problem with my coupon for that….I got burned.

  32. andrea flannagan

i went to the toys r us by dayton mall..and the cashier took my 2 $10 coupons with no problem.. and i used the bogo little pony coupon!! fun day!

  33. crystal

I am so excited my child gift shelf is over flowing!!! I got the strawberry short cake deal and the free one in the purse, then my toystory deals X2 one for us and one set as gifts so for the toystory movies and princess and the frog i piad $18.60 then mailing in my $10 rebates for princes and the frog so really $8.60 for all 6 blue ray movies!!! and the strawberry short cake deal was $18 and change for $71.88 worth of dolls!!! thank you much collin!!!!

  34. Amanda

ugh, those 2 playskool toy are ones i’m planning on get my 8 month old for easter and i have the coupons, but the closest TRU is almost 45 minutes away. after spending the gas money it wouldn’t worth it πŸ™

    • texastot

Amanda, just wanted to let you know that if you have a Walmart by you, you should check there first, because the playskool step start walk n ride is on sale for $10 before coupon this week.

    • texastot

Amanda, also forgot to mention the ball popper is also on sale this week at walmart for $10 each, so with coupon -$5 you get for $5. So you can get both playskool items you want from walmart for total of $10 and save yourself the 45 min. drive to TRU

      • Karin

Thanks for the info. My TRU is over an hour away, and I just came from there today, and was kicking myself for not looking around. I just was telling hubby I wanted to get that ball popper. Guess I can now! WooHoo.

  35. Sara

Thanks so much for posting about the TRU deal for the TS1 and TS2. I went last night and pre-ordered them and i ended up getting the princess and the frog free. I went to pick up the movies today and had no problem using both $10 off coupons, so i ended up paying 5.90 for both movies. This was a great deal! Thanks Hip2Save

  36. Nathalie

I went this morning to get both movies. When I got there I was told they were already sold out! Thinking nothing of it, I let it go! Later on in the day i went to BRU and they had a bunch there. I got both movies for $6.99 each. To make my deal even better, i got a pair of $24.99 Nikes for my oldest daughter for $10.90 and a pair of $34.99 Sketchers for $13.70. With deals like this, my husband does not care if I go shopping!

  37. texastot

Playskool Step Start Walk N Ride – Just FYI Walmart, and maybe it is just local to mine, but have these on sale for $10 each this week. So, with the coupon -$5/1 you can get it for $5. I did and my 10 mo. littlest boy just loves it. I am so happy, because I have watched it since x-mas, and finally my patience paid off. Note, the coupon is only good for the one pictured in it, the boys one, at least that was the case at my Walmart. They would not take the coupon on the pink girls version when I tried to use that last week when only the girls one went on sale first. Thanks again for all your wonderful posts, keep up the good work πŸ™‚

  38. Cynthia

TRU was sold out on TS2 so I went across the street to Target and got them there. what a great deal!

  39. joycelyn

i missed out on the kissing frogs i had bought my princess and frog dvd combo and wasn’t aware of the bonus deal so today i bought in my reciepts and showed that i bought PAFD but wasn’t aware of the bonus jewerly box. they say no problem and scan my reciept i got the box for free and guess what it show up on their register they owed me $1.06 so they refunded it to my debit card. also i had pre-order toy story 1&2 pick them up today and my bill for that came to $4.23 included tax i also did the $15 off any disney with the pre-order what a deal thank you collin and the rest of the gang here. no more rediculos best buy 29.99 -34.99 movies for my kids.

  40. Nicole Z.

I just posted this comment under the TS1 and TS2 deals original post mistakenly.
    Any advice?

I am so mad. I did the pre-buy at TRU yesterday for both TS1 and TS2. By the time I got there today (11:30 AM). They had accidentally given away all of the pre-buys and of course, the regular Blu-ray/DVD combos were sold out. The tech. dept. mgr. said that he would call me again when they come in. BUT, what if they come in after Saturday? Is my price going to go up? If that’s the case, I am going to be flat-out furious. I already called another store in our area and they were sold-out. Can I get a rain-check or something? Any advice?

    • Cynthia

I would speak to the mgr again so you get a definite answer and take note of who you talk to. and they should have to honor the sale price after saturday for their own mistake. don’t take no for an answer.

      • Nicole Z.

Thanks, Cynthia. I will call the mgr. tomorrow.

  41. Sarah M

What a morning! Went to get the Toy Story movies but TRU was sold out, and Target was sold out, so I took the TRU ad to Walmart and price matched and used the 2 $10 coupons. Finally got the movies!!!

  42. Lynne W

I’m not too happy. I put down a $5 deposit on TS 1&2 Blu Ray combo last Friday. Went to TRU this afternoon and the manager told me that they only rec’d 5 copies and they were all gone! So much for putting down a presale deposit! I asked if I would be guaranteed the $16.99 price & was told only if they get more in before Saturday! I guess I may be getting my $10 deposit back and no movies?

    • fuzzymitten

I don’t understand why they would call it a pre-order if there aren’t enough copies of the Blu-rays for the people that ordered it. Isn’t that the reason a person pre-orders something? To guarantee a copy of the item is reserved for them? I would think the store would tally up the number of pre-orders and reserve that many for the customers. I would think they would honor the price since it’s the store’s fault the shipment didn’t arrive. There seems to be some kind of problem at TRU where many stores weren’t getting all their inventory. Some locations were hiding the Blu-rays from the customers, no these weren’t reserved for pre-orders either.
I’ve read on Slick Deals that some people were picking up their pre-sells orders at another store.

      • kristen

my TRU had about 8 of each. there was a line to get in this morning at opening. they did not set aside the preorders either. no problems with coupons etc…the cashier was really really nice and impressed we got such a great price. my kids watched both movies today and it has quickly become a favorite in this house. word to the wise though..print off your movie tickets soon, they say there is a limited quanity so better to be safe than sorry.

  43. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Just got back from TRU, they had plenty TS 1&2 combo packs. I had no problem using my coupons, after tax I paid $4.82. This TRU is located in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Boston. There was a lady before me buying…wait for it, The Kissing Frogs toy and Strawberry Shortcake toys FULL PRICE. I’m guessing this area could care less about coupons and deals! Sorry to hear so many having problems with TRU, definitely follow-up, call a manager and customer service.

  44. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

All in all I got PATF, TS1&2, Tiana Barbie doll and two movie tickets for $15. So excited!

  45. Jenn

Hubby got to TRU as they opened today. They took both coupons and we got TS1 and TS2 for I think about $7 each.

Then tonight I went back and I loved your idea for easter basket stuff. I have three little girls. So they were having a buy 2 get 1 free deal, so I got those little dolls in the purse. They had one of every kind (Strawberry shortcake, lemon merange, bluberry, raspberry, orange sherbert) So I bought four and got two free. THEN i noticed they had an extra deal of spend $15 get a free girl in a purse for free. So I ended up getting THREE free. Then I used my $5 off of $20 coupon… so my total for seven dolls was $19 including tax, which is like $2.70 each! Thanks so much for the idea, tip, and coupons!!!

    ~Jenn

  46. Karin

I have to share after seeing everyone’s comments. I actually got 3 movies (TS 1, TS 2 and Princess and the Frog) for a grand total of $6.60 for all three!!!! I had no trouble with TRU (which is far more than I can say for Target). I preordered the TS movies which gave me $15 off another Disney movie which the cashier was kind enough to tell me to go home and print the Princess and the Frog coupon for $10 off πŸ™‚ I love nice cashiers! So I paid 52 cents when I reserved the 2 movies because of their promotion and the coupon (where the extra $5 came off – I don’t know). Then today I used my 2 $10 off coupons and got the 2 TS movies πŸ™‚ Woohoo for $6.08. What a sweet deal!! I did this deal twice because of the movie tix inside πŸ™‚ I’m so excited and consider this my best deal so far! πŸ™‚ I hope it works out for everyone else!

    • Karin

Oh ya – plus I got a jewelry box with each princess and the frog πŸ™‚ Perfect present πŸ™‚
