NO MLP at my store when the doors opened. This is the 3rd time in 2 weeks that they advertise a sale and have NOTHING in stock. I don’t understand how they can advertise and not have ANY on the shelves. At the toy story blu ray deal they had you pre order and didn’t even have ANY for us when the doors opened. I have a call into copropate. Either the employees are taking them before the store opens or they just don’t send any for the sale. THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT and i’m DONE with TRU.

    • Lacie

It’s actually not false advertisement, because the ad says at the bottom in tiny print that quantities are limited to on hand. So that means whatever they have is what they have and after that they are not responsible for the sale. Some stores are very kind to us and offer rain checks. I know it’s frustrating, but don’t get mad at the individual store, because they don’t order for themselves so whatever they get they get. And if the employees put them on hold before you have a chance to buy them, that’s what they get to do. It’s a perk of being an employee at any store.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I’m mad at corporate for not sending Any for the up coming sale. This is an on going issure at least at our store. At christmas time there was a big story on the news about employees taking all the product before the customers could get any. They got fined and all the employees got fired.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

also no rain checks from the store but they said corporate could issue me one. Waiting on a call back

      • Holly

I disagree I think it is very wrong for you to pre order something and then go to pick it up and they so too bad we don’t have it. Then you have to fill out paperwork for a refund on that preorder. They shouldn’t do preorders if they can’t back it up.

  2. Michelle

I called the TRU in Clarksville, TN about an hour ago and asked if they were accepting the BOGO coupon on the BOGO sale and the associate said that as long as it was a manu coupon and in date that I could use it. So I packed up my toddler and headed to the store. Got 4 ponies and 2 of the bigger toys and went to go and checkout. Told the cashier that I called ahead of time to ask if I could use the coupon and was told I could. She then told the associate that I spoke to that they were instructed not to take the coupon because an email went out saying that you had to purchase one to get the deal. I was extremely irritated being that the associate that I spoke to had already let another woman use the coupons and I had taken the time to call and make sure. I would call corporate and complain but I am assuming it would do no good!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The more of us that complaine to corporate maybe they will understand that they have problems and they better get their act together or they will be loosing a lot of costumers.

    • Brandyk

Hello fellow clarksvillian 🙂 – I went to the tru here once at Christmas and it was so filthy I swore I would never set foot in there again- no matter how good the deal, and I’ve stuck to that. It was so disgusting.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Michelle, I too am in Clarksville, TN and I think I found the ponies that you didn’t get in a cart up at the front of the store. So, here’s what happened to me…Got to the store and was told the same thing you were, even spoke with the asst. mgr. and he said the manager had told them all NO! So, after I left (a little frustrated, but with my Hasbro games in hand :o) and went on to run other errands (twin toddlers in toe), I decided to call a Nashville TRU. They were accepting the Qs and had been all day with no problems. So…I called my local TRU back and asked to speak with the manager. I explained what had occured, that I understood they are reimbursed from the manufacturer for my Q and that I really preferred to purchase them locally and not have to make the trip to Nashville. He said he wondered why he didn’t hear about this earlier when I was in the store??? And that no one had said anything to him. He would gladly accept my Qs and even hold my ponies until after I finished my day’s errands and made it back by the store (which wasn’t until 8pm this evening). He was so nice and I had no problems with the purchase when I went back in. On a sidenote, I did call corporate just to inquire about their Q policy and they said that stores are not to accept BOGO Qs with BOGO store promos, but that they do not override a store’s decision to accept or not accept. I’ve read where Collin says sometimes it is worth the extra effort to inquire further and educate (or in my case, just persist :o) and today, it was!!!

  3. Shelly I.

I stopped at our St. Cloud, MN, TRU store right after it opened and was able to use my BOGO. The cashier wasn’t going to let me use my coupon but the manager said to process it through. Yeah! I was so excited to get 2 free MLPs.

  4. Nicole Stuart

BOGO deal was a no-go in Escondido, CA. I was too tired to argue it – did get the two bigger MLP items and they took both $5 off coupon though. Bummer – I was hoping for a bunch of ponies. 🙂

    • TD

really? anyone try carlsbad/oceanside…i was going to head over later on.

  5. Alicia

Thank you so much for posting this deal! I went at about 11 am and got 4 ponies for free! I also got the ferris wheel and the convertible for 9.99. Also, bought 2 playmobil sets at BOGO half off. And got 3 games for 8.99. All told, I wound up saving about 35 bucks with all of my coupons~ I also got a $5 gift card and have 9 bucks worth of rebates!!! Whooo Hoooo!

  6. Felicia

It was a no go for the deal in my area… The cashier looked at my coupon and said that her manager instructed them not to take them! THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR CALLING UP ALL THE STORES!

  7. Tara

I tried to get the My Little Ponies. I got there about 5 minutes after the store opened. There was a lady in line already with about 10 ponies and about 10 of the cars and ferris wheels. The clerk let her use all the coupons. When I made it back to the shelves there was nothing left. I went to Target though and got Bop it and Monopoly Deal for $1.89.

  8. colleen

Went to the west mifflin, PA store and they wouldn’t accept the coupons. They said they are only accepting printables for the princess and the frog movie. I was able to get the bogo playsets and use the $5 coupon from the paper though. Thanks.

  9. mara

Thanks everyone for wiping out the shelves! just wanted 2 for my daughters bday, but 30 minutes after opening…no luck!

  10. Racquel

I am so frustrated with shelf clearers!!! Toys R Us…Walgreens. I swear I cannot get anywhere fast enough! Come on people, cant we all share????

  11. Courtney Weese

The Portland, OR area stores are NOT accepting any MLP coupons, they state since they are B1G1 it’s a promotion and it says “not to be used with any other promotion”. Um, that doesn’t include a store promotion. I was told the manufacturer would refuse to reimburse them. I tried to explain I have been using these coupons for a long time, and no store has refused a B1G1 (or a $ off coupon since I was trying to use the $5 off coupons). Of course it didn’t help. Ticked me off.

    • Bliss Baby Designs

The Beaverton one by WA square did accept them! I got a couple and there were people in front and behind of me at 9:20 a.m. this morning doing the same deal! They also had diaper genie 3 pack refills on sale for $16.99 with a 20% off coupon I got from them I felt like I scored! I was bummed I had used all my $3 off huggies coupons cause I had to buy night time diapers today too! When I went to the MLP there was still a TON left! AND you can use the little 2 pack of mini ponies with the same deal…they ended up being priced at $5.04 each!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My Eugene, Oregon store was not happy about the coupon! They will not accept it. As it is already a promotion item. UGH!!! So annoying!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

In St. Petersburg, FL they wouldn’t let me use one coupon two buy two (technically making them both free) – the register would not accept it. But I was able to buy four and essentially get three for free ($6-ish with tax).

  12. Megan

No little ponies left at my store. Still got 2 of the big MLP toys and had no problem using the (2) $5 off coupons. Also got 4 games and the free plush. Certainly not free, but a great deal. With all these good deals, I am going to be done with Christmas by June:)

  13. Janice

I guess I’m lucky, got to my store around 10am, no one else in there, the shelves were full.

    • Cindy

I didn’t make it to the store until 4 pm and was still greeted with full shelves. Maybe no one around here knows likes MLPs? Coupons beeped but they were pushed through. Got 6 ponies and my games for gifts.

  14. Maureen Ruble

All the ponies were already cleared out completely but I did get the Pony Convertible set and nursery for a total of $9.98. Thanks!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I asked about them since I didn’t see any of the single ponies on the shelf, and he brought down another case for me. Sometimes you have to ask if the shelves are empty!

  15. Johnisha

I actually had no problems at my Toys r us. I was able to score 4 mlp for free! There were very limited quanties so I had to get what was there, but that is okay. They will make for great presents or Christmas toy drives. : )

  16. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

TRU doesn’t seem much different then Walgreens to me. I remember on the Purex B1G1 deal some people were able to get the deal, some weren’t. That’s kind of how it goes with these deals, all YMMV. I get no deals at Walgreens, but my TRU seems to be OK. Win some lose some, all part of the coupon game! I don’t think we should get too worked up over this and start sending mass calls to corporate, they are just toys after all. Thank goodness we all have families and kids to get these deals for, that is what’s it’s all about at the end of the day.

    • Megan

      Great post;)

  17. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I got 28 ponies this morning. I was there at 11 am and no one was near the ponies. I live in Fairfax virginia and I guess not to many other couponers out here. More deals for me!

    • Anonymous

28 ponies???? That is just greedy!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Disgusting

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

why is that disgusting? The shelves were stocked the the brim! I always find all of the deals…i really don’t think there are many other couponers out here

    • Sharon T.

      Shelf clearing = not cool.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

wait…who said I cleared the shelf? Why did all of you jump to conclusions here without knowing all of the details?!?! I bought 28 ponies and paid the tax for them. There were about 20 left. Like I said, this store was packed with ponies. I think you all owe me an apology here.

        • Courious in Calif.

You bought 28 ponies for yourself, leaving only 20 for all the moms who have to come after work, and each person gets 2, which equals not too many others get to take advantage of the deal. Why the heck do you need 28 ponies?!

          • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Like I said, I don’t think there are too many couponers in my area because I always find full shelves. Also, why do you care why I need 28? I don’t need to answer that. Jealous much? If you stayed at home with your kids you would be able to go in the morning too.

        • Cindy

Yeah, come on….it does not matter if there were still 20 or so left on the shelves. That is just greedy. This is the type of thing that gives couponers a bad rap IMO. I hope you plan on donating at least some of those freebies….

          • Joe Money

            28 ponies….I’m scared !

        • SassyMom

I’m not going to be mean about it… But I will simply state it like this… We all want good deals, actually “GREAT DEALS” and it is in our human nature to want to hoard lots and lots! So I’m not yelling at you, you’re human! But I would like to kindly point out that everytime someone goes in and gets a large number of anything at a store for a great deal (and yes 28 is a very large number) it raises eyebrows…. and then they try to figure out a way to make sure that doesn’t happen again… Just like the people who went in to Walgreens and bought lots and lots of Dove…. when I went they had readjusted the computer so now it is no longer rolling! We’re all human, we all want to save… and we all want to stock up for ourselves, our family, even our church drives… But we need to remember to keep ourselves in check…. Not only for our future couponing… but also for those other people who may be going to the store later to buy MLP…. I truly hope you continue to get good deals, but I do hope you learn to limit yourself a little.. Thanks and God Bless!

          • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I got 12 Ponies today and don’t feel guilty one bit! There were more and NO couponers there…I actually handed out more coupons that I had to ladies that were looking around. It makes me sad if I go to the store and the shelves are clear but you have no right to judge people. MYOB!!! (Oh, and all my coupons went through just fine…got lots of board games & plushes for free too!)

    • Mini Joseph

How on earth were you able to access 14 coupons to get 28 free ponies. I just hope for the sake of all couponers out there that you didnt make copies. Or else soon Toys R Us will stop accepting coupons

      • Amy

DD i cant stand people like you. You do not deserve an apology, The people who live in Fairfax virginia deserve an apology from you for clearing more than half the shelf.

      • BrandyK

I had a bogo coupon in my inserts the week before last, so it didn’t have to be an ip. But if you work in a corporate setting, or go to a library, or are in a college with a computer lab you have access to loads of computers.

Also, Really guys? They’re plastic horses. I don’t know why everyone is getting so worked up. Some deals I miss out on and some I get.

        Move on.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

          Exactly Brandy K. 😉

          • chaney

            HERE HERE!

    • KellyJ

Too many people worrying about what Other people do. My lordy. DD.. Just ignore them all.

  18. Jen

I went to the Lawrenceville, NJ store today at 1:00pm. The pony supply was limited, about 10 total. I tried to get four and my coupons were turned down. If anyone else was successful in NJ, I would like to know where. Thanks.

    • Mini Joseph

      Hey Jen,
I also had gone to the Lawrenceville, NJ store and got turned down. They said that the coupon said cannot be combind with other offers, Oh well I guess I will hold on to the coupon for some other sale.

  19. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I went to my store this morning and they denied my coupons and there explanation was that most people had been coming in with photo copies of the coupons(they knew this for a fact because the codes on the coupons were all the same). They also knew they were “hip-to-save” bloggers because they had asked where they got the coupons from. Great! Now our name is ruined because of some selfish fraudsters. Makes me sad that amongst us are people who have copied these coupons to get many ponies fro free.

    • Anonymous

That is awful! Shame on the ones who are copying coupons and cleaning off the shelves. The store will NOT get reimbursed for copied coupons. There is a reason that there is a LIMIT to how many you can print!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

we can not copy this coupon? I copy 10 for me sister and me and we use this day to get the pony. Is this no good?

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Are you saying you took the coupon to a photocopy machine and photocopied 1 coupon 10 times? If that’s what you’re saying, then yes, it’s not allowed. It’s called coupon fraud. Each coupon that comes from online has a unique code number on it, with extensive restrictions, which is why they only allow 2 prints per computer.

        • Mini Joseph

Ya, that is really really really bad. There is a good reason why they limit 2 per computer. Each ONLINE coupon has a unique code and the store WILL NOT get reimbursed for duplicates. This is how we couponers get a bad name and the cashiers doubt us for fraud

        • Jennifer

You can go to jail for coupon fraud!!!! You can get three to five years in jail if you are caught…..

  20. Heather

I got all the way to the store and there were plenty of ponies. But I didn’t realize I had to go to the tru website to print out the deal of the day coupon. So, no ponies for my girls!!

    • April

There was no bar code for that deal of the day so you shouldn’t have needed it!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The registers were already programmed for the B1G1, there was no separate coupon you needed.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

the bogo coupon would give you 2 ponies for free :). Thats what the coupon was for

  21. Card

Idaho Falls TRU was fully stocked, however they had signs all over say no manufacturers coupons. I asked about it, and they blamed it on corporate.

  22. Janne'

waited with a couple of mothers outside for the store to open. TRU has 1 single assortment MLP left! Bless the hearts of the other ladies there….but they sort of made me feel like a Back Friday door buster shopper! My 2 $5 off Q worked for the only items I was able to get/purchase. I did ask a store employee if more were available in the back or boxed. He verified that more were coming tomorrow 🙁 I do wish corporate would ensure they were well-stocked for upcoming sales. Seems smart if they want the money/manu reimbursment.

  23. Linda

I went to Pinole TRU and worked perfectly!! I had a new cashier and she had the manager helping her out. I had the single ponies rung up on one transaction (because if you get two playsets and two ponies, the two ponies will come up free as the bogo always takes off the lowest items). The manager (named Jim if anyone is going to Pinole TRU today!) told the gal to punch in the amount for the ponies ($5.49) then he did that pause that happens a lit when you use the bogo coupons. I chimed in and said, “they’re basically all free cause the coupon pays…” then he nods his head! He nodded his head cause he KNEW about the deal!!! He KNEW how a bogo sale/bogo coupon deal works!!!! I was elated!! I’m writing an email to corporate when I get home to express my LOVE for Jim and my cashier!! I had some anxiety about even trying the deal as a lot of people have been denied, but so glad I tried!! I then got two playsets, used 2 $5/1 coupons for them and I also had a $3/$3 for my daughter’s birthday so I got 4 ponies for free ($1.07 for tax) and 2 playsets for $8.65 after tax! I’m stoked!!

    • April

      What is the $3/$3 Birthday?

      • Kimi

If you sign your child up for the TRU Birthday Club, they get a $3 gift card (valid on a $3+ purchase, hence the $3/3) on each birthday until they’re ten.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

hmmm my 2 young ones are signed up and I never got anything? May have to check on that! 🙂

          • Kim

            I got a coupon for $5 off a $25 purchase, that’s it.

  24. Rachel

I was able to get my ponies for just Tax! i went in got the ponies and the cashier told me i couldn’t do it and asked another manager and he said they werent aloud to push them through so i walked out sad got my son buckled up and the guy comes running out saying mam mam! He told me he went and asked the gm and right as they were talking about it a thing came up on the computer that the manu coupon is out there and to accept them! so i went back in and got the ponies!!

  25. Katie

I was there when they first opened and the shelf was almost empty with only 6 ponies available. When I got to the front they wouldn’t accept the coupon sighting an email they got from corporate. Why advertize a sale if you are only going to have 6 ponies to start?

  26. Susan

I got 4 ponies, using 2 coupons (which is allowed) and I got 2 sets of MLP dress up sets, marked at $11.98, . All MLP were marked BOGO on the shelf. They let me use the $5. off coupon for the sets, so I got all for $9.22 after tax. Thanks Collin, and the other readers who gave their testaments.

  27. Kimi

I got 10 ponies, the last ones in the store. Before anyone kills me for that, let me just say I have a lot of nieces and little girls in my life. 😉 I did have to argue a little bit with the employee (politely and pleasantly, explaining just what you told me — that one is from the store and one is from the manufacturer, who will pay them). She called up a manager, who said to take the coupons. Yay! Thanks for posting this deal, Collin & co!!

  28. Felicia

To the lady who bought 28 ponies… .Are you kidding me??? That is really greedy! To the lady who copied the coupons: are you stupid? That is the reason why us honest people who use coupons are having such a hard time being able to use our coupons! GEEZ!!!

    • Denise

      AGREE!

    • Brandyk

I don’t really think it’s necessary (or very nice) to call someone stupid because they don’t know the ip’s can’t be photocopied. I have seen SO many posts where people admit they didn’t know this. When you are first starting out there are a lot of rules to learn so let’s be nice. I’m sure you have made honest mistakes before too- at least she asked the honest question here so we could correct her. It is the people that knowingly commit coupon fraud that cause problems for the test of us.

And to the lady that got 28- I am jealous but good for you for getting a good deal! I could not make it to the store today so I will have to live vicariously through you 🙂

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Felicia…you should read my above post to the lady with the 28 ponies. MYOB.

    • Marissa

The lady who got 28 ponies is creeping me out. I keep picturing her house full of Ponies in every little corner, like on the show Hoarders only with Ponies. Either that or she bought them to re-sell them for profit, which is just very immoral.

  29. SassyMom

thank you so much for telling us about this deal…. I went around 3pm expecting there to be none left and also expecting them to say no to the coupon if there were any…. But to my surprise I got 4 ponies and 2 gumball playsets (they were out of the ferris wheels so the supervisor said go ahead and get the gumball and I’ll honor it for you….and that one was on clearance for 17.98) So I got all 6 for 7.98….. I then donated to the autism fund… Remember Karma can be good or bad… so send the right vibe out ladies! I am so thrilled to be getting all these deals but I am not going to complain if one or two don’t work… That’s life….. I know I said it before but I’ll say it again… Thanks Collin… You Rock!

  30. Holly

I went to the Christiana, DE TRU around noon today. Wanter to get 2 ponies for my twin nieces to put towards this birthday. Had my BOGO coupon. Was told that I couldn’t use it because “it beeps” and I “didn’t need it.” I told the cashier that I was using it to pay for the remaining pony since a coupon is the same as cash and asked her to to try it again. She did and said “See, it beeps.” I told her I used to work in retail and that I know for a fact that you can use a BOGO coupon on a a BOGO promotion. I was polite and so was she. She tried one more time and it still beeped. I still bought the ponies and took back the coupon, but I’m writing corporate. It seems a bit ridiculous that some stores/managers allowed it and some didn’t. I only wanted 2 ponies, not 10 or 28!! I wasn’t buying them to resell them or make a profit. I only wanted them to give them to my nieces for their birthday. I’m unemployed and every little bit helps, ya know?

  31. Jodi

Thanks for the great tip! My TRU had several styles of ponies and had both the ferris wheel and the car too. Thank you!

  32. jessica davis

Went to the TRU here in Knoxvile today. There were only 6 ponies left. They would not let me use the coupon. I would have argued about it, but I had my 2 year old neice and baby nephew with me who started crying so I just left. It blows though, cause I had to drive 30 minutes!

  33. Emily

TRU in Ocooe had signs up saying they would not accept any BOGO or $5 coupons for the MLP. Result? Shelves fully stocked – I don’t think anyone bought anything! When I tried to use my $5 coupon for Strawberry Shortcakes the cashier told me they weren’t accepting ANY coupons for ANYTHING that day. Really? Luckily she also kindly offered to get the manager for me and he set her straight and accepted the coupon. 🙂

  34. Jen

I had a great trip to TRU – got 4 ponies and the merry go round and car all for $12 something. The cashier was very nice and friendly about and was actually telling me about someone he seen on tv who was a coupon “pro” – he thought it was very cool! I thought it was even better!! Thanks for the tip!

  35. Jane

They took my coupons for the MLP and went in the back to get games that were not on the shelf in Anchorage, AK. I think they also restocked in the morning. It is a shame those stores that didn’t even have enough to serve most people who came early!
I think that you need to be reasonable about the amount of items you take advantage of on these deals. I am blessed to have Colin and other bloggers help save me money, and it would be nice if as many people as possible take advantage. If people abuse the system [and getting 28 for free is abusing it, in my opinion] … these corporate stores will issue policies that disallow things we normally do, [for example, what if they stop doing multiple transactions; and insisted that you go stand back in line for each transaction .. I was so happy to have my cashier work with me today and be fully supportive of making 3 separate transactions!] which will affect all of us who are coupon-ing to stretch our dollar.

  36. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

wahoo – got 2 ponies (actually 3, one was a double pack with 2 small ones), ferris wheel, and the convertable car all for 10.00 :).
Cashier called another cashier and she said no. It was obvious that others were trying to use them today ( I went late). She kept saying they are already on sale BOGO, so you cant use the coupon. I explained what Collin said about getting one free from store, and one free from manufacture, she still wasnt going for it, so the cashier called the manager, and I explained it to him again, and he put it through. No problems with the two 5.00 coupons for the larger items 🙂

Went to my TRU and they were wiped out of everything! I was so frustrated but then I decided to go ahead and ask if there was anymore ferris wheels/cars/so soft newborns. The guy came back with the LAST two ferris wheels so I grabbed them. Used 2 $5 off coupons with no problems at all! I love my TRU! Paid $11 for both and saved over $30 🙂 Thanks!

B1G1 coupons were a no go at the Evansville, IN TRU :/ per a manager who said the coupon could not be used w/ any other promotions. dang. I was so excited about this deal.

I am so tired of going to the stores and having none on the shelf. I wish stores would put a limit on these deals so people could not wipe out the entire stock. The cashier said one lady bought the entire stock. I know it was probably one of the people that hold regular “garage sales” and resale the items in our town.

I understand your frustration, but at the same time, you win some you lose some. If someone has enough coupons to go and get that many in a legit way, power to them. I’m not saying I don’t get frustrated too, but I’ve also been on the other end where I got the really great deal…like the .49 caterpillars last fall. I have 3 little boys under the age of 5 and I had my happy little butt WAITING at Target when they opened to get 6, which is how many coupons I had. I don’t think that’s unfair. I was willing to go through the hassle of getting there first so I could get the awesome deal. Those that aren’t willing shouldn’t expect the product to be there when they show up at noon and the doors opened at 9. You never know what that woman was doing with all those ponies…maybe she was donating them to a shelter…that’s what I used part of the caterpillars for, our Christmas Angels that we do each year. So don’t be a poor sport. Just look for the next great deal and bust your butt to get there quickly…that’s the name of the coupon game! 🙂

I’m sorry but I don’t understand this logic. I think it’s great that you take the initiative to get there at 6, but if you have 3 kids and will use 3 caterpillars, then by all means get 3 and leave those other 3 for moms with kids who will use them also. I’m not saying it’s nice of you to donate the toys, but by taking them to donate elsewhere, you’ve taken it away from someone else’s kids. And I also think it’s unfair to say, too bad for the people out there who can’t get to the store because we have to work. It’s great that you’re able to stay home with your kids, I hope when I have mine, I’m able to do so for a while as well.

Even still, I don’t think anyone needs 28 ponies. If she has 28 grandkids than great, but what do you think she’s going to do with them? If she wanted to donate them, why not get a few? 6 would make a great donation. I just think it’s wrong, it’s my opinion and my two cents. And to Toni, DD put it out there for everyone to read, so she opened it up for people to comment on. And, we’re all grown ups here.. we all have different opinions. I think we should be a bit respectful of that.

        • chaney

FYI…I wasn’t there at 6, I was there at 7. I KEPT 2 to donate, I picked up 2 for my sister, and 2 for 2 different friends. Grow up! I didn’t keep them all for myself and I didn’t ROB other moms of these toys. Hello! They are toys, not something we’ll die without. If I had gotten there and there wouldn’t have been any on the shelf, I would have been disappointed, but not angry or come back here and griped! I understand that you win some, you lose some, like I said. BWT, I WORK too…just not at a business. I never leave work. Having 3 kids, a husband, and a house to take care of is a HUGE job. Don’t downplay something unless you’ve been there. People who work outside the home could do as my friends and sister did, have someone else who’s going pick them up for them, or go before work if possible. What’s the difference between me picking them up for people and them going themselves?…and if I choose to donate them, good for me! We do Operation Chritmas Child each year and the ponies are perfect for that. So if I wanted to get 28 and hand them out to people at church to put in their shoeboxes for this, I don’t see what’s wrong with that. It’s sad that people get so worked up and jealous over the success of others. Collin is always saying, if you’ve got the coupons and it’s a rock-bottom price, you should stock up. I’m not advocating clearing out the shelves, but it’s really first come, first served. That’s life.

          • Stacy

I really do not think I am being a poor sport about being frustrated that one person clears the entire shelf. I think it is fine if people by more than one if they are going to use them or donate a few. That is not what happens in my town. Two different people wipe out the entire supplies at numerous stores for every deal and hold sales at there house as a business and resale the things they bought cheap or got for free. This is not right. The stores around here are just as frustrated as the shoppers.

I got two MLP for free using the BOGO coupon. I didn’t ask, just handed it to them like I knew what I was doing. They took it without any problem. I did have to pay .50 tax, but that’s it. However, I wanted to use the $5 gift card on a separate purchase (I also bought some seriously inexpensive games that qualified me for the gift card), and was told that I had to wait 6 hours to use the gift card. Sneaky, sneaky! Anyway, went back tonight to redeem the gift card, with no extra purchases! LOL! Thanks for posting these amazing deals, Collin! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  41. Amy

I really do think that stores should start putting limits out there. This is getting ridiculous. I only wanted two but I was too late. The lady before me cleared the whole shelf. The girl that was working said they just put them out this morning and within minutes the lady cleared the whole thing. I told the salesperson there should be limits and that was wrong. She didnt seem to care.

  42. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

bogo was a no go in Allen,TX they said we can not use coupons with the deal….so we called corp. and they said no way you can not combine offers…

  43. Carole

WOOHOO! THANKS COLLIN! I just got 4 of the small ponies, one convertible, and ferris wheel for $10.81!!! Thanks to you, Collin, between the board games at Target last week and this MLP deal, I’ve gotten a good deal of my Christmas shopping done already! Thank you so much!
Oh, and I guess TRU deals aren’t a big deal around here because even though I went in at 7PM everything was fully stocked… it looked like only 4-5 things had been bought and the same thing happened when I went for TS & TS2 last week.

  44. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The TRU I went to in PA had NO trouble accepting the coupon, but the register wouldn’t take it! Every time the cashier tried to scan it (she tried at least half a dozen times), it would make this loud beep. How did you guys manage to get it without the register beeping??

    • Andrea

The coupon “beeps” because its triggering the cashier to manually enter the price of the free item. A seasoned cashier should know this, but I guess too many don’t. Its like that with any free coupon so the register can keep track of what has been sold.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for your reply Andrew. I wish I had known that. 🙁

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So sorry. I meant to say Andrea…

i did not have time to read all posts but wanted to say this-i went to bridgewater nj store and they would not accept bogo coupons. the girl even tried to ring it thru several times but it wouldn’t work. i didn’t want to make a scene…so i left, but i did get several of the bigger items for gifts and used my $5 off coupons.

@ Toni 12 ponies is not even half of 28 that she got! If she is donating them or something like that then ok and for the lady who copied the coupons???? If it only lets you print 2 coupons per computer wouldn’t you have enough common sense to know not to copy them? Especially since each coupon has it’s own unique bar code?

  48. Linda B

I went to my Bloomingdale, Il. store this morning got 2 MLP’s and asked the asst. mgr. if the coupon was good since it is a mfg. he agreed and personally helped process the transaction. I told him that 1 was for me and 1 for charity. He said if I run into any problems in the future ask for him. It cost me $.40 for both. What a great little score……

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

For the moms that got 28 or 12 their is a reason their is a print limit, I understand that you may have one or two or even 3 computers in the house, but to get 14 coupons you would need 7 computers………… As a foster mom to 4 disabled foster kiddos I can not get their at the opening, doesnt matter if their are “no couponers” in the area or not, the limit is set to protect from this type of use.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I had like 20 of these coupons….they were not printed from the computer. I got them in the playsaver insert.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Me Too! Got all mine from the insert.

      • chaney

FYI…the coupons reset at least once during the print period, so if you have 2 computers, plus get several Sunday papers…you can easily and legitimately get 12 products. Who’s to say you don’t have family print some too?

  49. Joy

I went to the Springfield, Mo. store. They would not let me use any of my coupons for the pony stuff. Said that they would not combine offers.Said I could pay full price and use my coupons or get the deal of the day. Not a good day here for the My little ponies.
