I got some great deals at Walgreens today, but I think I’m giving up with them. I had a cashier today scrutinize each item I purchased making me feel as if I were stealing from them. But sometimes the deals are just too good to pass up! Love the deals, hate the hassle!

I would go to a different Walgreens if you can. Or contact a manager about the cashier. When you use coupons they get paid back for them, they are not losing anything.

I had this same problem today with the cereal and the vicks and puffs deal and when the manager came over she said that I was only allowed one coupon on my entire purchase that we had to choose either the vicks and not get the puffs or we had to buy the puffs and could use the the vicks and then when we refused to buy anything she told us to get out of her store. When contacting corporate they just say that they have to side with their managers.what a joke!!!!

Don’t let someone else get you down. Contact corporate & let them know how you were treated. Also try checking out at the cosmetic counter- I always have better luck there & you do not have the pressure of a long line forming behind you. Try to avoid that particular cashier! You have to get those deals! :P

This cereal deal (RR) is not in the ad and from what I have read, people are not sure what is making the rr. One person said she got a $4rr when she bought 8 boxes (7 Fruity Pebbles and 1 Grape Nuts), the ad says limit 4 though. I read another said she got $3 when she bought 4 Fruity Pebbles. I am not in the market for Fruity Pebbles so I am going to wait for more reports before I shop this deal.

The details and exp. date are posted on the original post for the additional deals at Walgreens buy 4 and get $3, buy more and get $4. I think it expires on the 23rd of the month. Hope that helps, it matches up with all the info you had posted.

I don’t see anywhere in the Walgreens ad that you get $3 rr when you buy 4 Post cereals. I also looked back at the older posts and don’t see it there either. Can you tell me where to find the Monthly RR on your site and also where you get the info from?

      Anna in VA says:

I think the max RR on the transaction you can get is a $4 RR. When I went there they had very few Post cereals that were included in the sale. My SS had 2 $1 coupons, one was for a bunch of different cereals and the other was for kids cereals. That’s probably why the person bought so many Fruity Pebbles. Honey Bunches of Oats was included in the sale. I did this transaction twice, once with 4 boxes, and once with 5 boxes. The 4 boxes generated a $3 RR and the 5 boxes generated a $4 RR.

The deal I did for the 5 boxes was:
Buy 4 boxes of Post Cereal $1.75 each = $8.75
Use the two $2/1 coupon from the Post website
Use 2 $1/2 coupons from the 2/28 SS
      Pay $4.75
      Get back a $4 RR
      Final cost $0.15 per box!

i got the coupons, but my Wags had no Fruity Pebbles left. The cashier told me their truck comes in on Fridays. I hate it when I get all excited about a deal scenario, then my Wags doesn’t have it in stock. Happens over 50% of the time. Bummer.

Last week, my 2 dollar stores were out of papers (regular price for our local papers is $2.00) so I just ordered my extras from a clipping service because there were some other coupons I wanted for some upcoming deals. Usually my region (the Northwest) is always left out of the great coupons – so frustrating when a good deal comes up and I never have the coupons. This time my 1 copy I got locally had the Post coupon and the 5 others I bought from a clipping service had NO post coupons.

I might check Ebay because we love grape nuts and shredded wheat.

The coupons are the same, but I notice the same things aren’t in the paper when you get it delivered versus when you buy it at the store. Strange. Meaning the store inserts.

  • 11

    Mary says:

Anon, are you buying the Oregonian?

  • 12

    Anon says:

Hey Mary – I’m in Coeur d’ Alene. So the CDA Press and Spokesman. I get 1 spokesman delivered and then usually buy 4 or 5 CDA Press at the Dollar store because they are 1/2 price. I usually want the Press because if our Albertsons has double coupons they will come in the Press on Sunday. It’s all a crap shoot I guess!

How do people find out about the RR that are not on the weekly circulars? I am always hesitant to try these deals that are not officially advertised by the stores so I was wondering where the source of the info is…
    Thanks!

    ALLISON says:

I have a funny coupon story…I went to Best Buy last week for the
Ponyo deal. They had a special if you bought 2 DVDs from the same director you would get 10 off. I also had 2 10 off each DVD manufacturers coupons. So I was paying at customer service and I started asking the girl if she gave me the 10 dollar discount and then the 2 man. coupons. She said “no you can’t use both deals YOU CAN’T DOUBLE DIP” So I said I’m not buying them. I went to leave and asked the guy at the front door. He said lets get the manager. So the manager isn’t sure what I’m explaining but finally figures it out and says the girl is wrong. So he walks me back to her and I pay. I get the 10 off and the 10 off for each man. coupon. I walked out of the store and my kids and I started singing ” I DOUBLE DIPPED” Chalk 1 up for the couponers!!!!! My new knowledge is always ask 2 people.

    Lisa says:

For the Kraft mac & cheese at wags, the in-ad coupon says limit 3. Anyone know if it will give you the $.69 price if you buy 5? Do you have to ask the cashier to scan the coupon twice?

off topic but a Walgreens find…I was at the Springdale, OH store and they had the Care Bear wipes for $5.00 it was a 300 count pkg.

    noreen says:

if the limit to print the $2/1 is only one, then how do you get 2 like the scenario says?

    • 18.1

      Chrissy says:

Noreen – For this particular one, I think you have to use another computer to print off a 2nd one. Sometimes you can hit the back button the browser to do it, but not on this one. :)

    Bethany says:

I bought 1 shredded wheat, 2 fruity pebbles and 1 grape nuts and got NO RRs. I think it’s probably buy the same kind sort of deal or maybe a certain size. What size box were you buying for the RR deal? I noticed there were two sizes on sale for the same price. Thanks!
