i’m a college student and every semester i have to print out pages and pages of stuff for my classes. i also get a lot of flyers for events around campus and stuff. but once the semester is over all that paper is outdated and I don’t need it anymore. So, I use the back of those papers to print all my coupons~!

saves $ and saves the environment! ^__^

Does anyone know if this deal can be done online and still earn the rewards? Thanks.

How does staple rewards work? .. How long does it take to get the rewards and can you only use it for staples products?

    • MA says:

Just got my staples rewards in the mail yesterday. It states: Staples rewards are issued montly when the value of the Reward is at least $10. Monthly balances of less than $10 will roll over each month until the minimum is met for that calendar quarter. If the $10 minimum for the quarter has not been met, the balance will expire at the end of the quarter.

And yes, the Rewards are used for items in the Staples store, or online purchases-but they also have cleaning products, food items, office items, etc. hth

I got mine delivered Thursday. I have enough paper to last years!!

Does anyone know if you use a Staple Rewards certificate to pay for the batteries and paper, can you still get the rewards certificate for those items? I have a certificate that expires 4/30 so this would be great to use it on. Thanks!

    • Jessica says:

I was wondering the same thing. Hopefully someone will come along and we’ll get an answer! Mine is actually from the free batteries back in November!

    • Tina says:

I asked staples employees about that a few months ago about that and the assured me I would. I can’t remember the deal, but I did get rewards after using rewards to pay for it! Nice way to roll rewards!

    • RM says:

yes you can pay for items that will give you rewards with the rewards that you have. It’s great I do it all the time it’s just like cvs and walgreens.

  • Janice says:

Great Staples deals, I have 4 cartridges to turn in so this will make it worth the trip! I haven’t paid full price for paper in a LONG time thanks to Staples! Yea!

  • Jessica says:

I did the battery deal online in November, not sure if you can still do it online.

  • Marquisha says:

I don’t really see how these items are considered free. I mean you have to pay for them, and then you basically get a card to buy something else of the same or less value for free. So it’s not like you can go into Staples with a dollar and come out the batteries and paper. It seems like we ought to come up with a different way to describe it rather than saying its free. That’s just my opinion.

    • jen says:

I see what you mean Marquisha… one thing i do is use my staples rewards to pay for more things that will produce rewards, like like Cvs or Walgreens programs… just another way to look at it.

    • Jessica says:

well, it’s kinda like Walgreens, or CVS. You have to pay for the item the first time, but then you “roll” the reward to keep getting more items for free. Just like at CVS or Wags, you do pay real money the first time, but then you just use your rewards. I already have a staples reward from recycling ink cartridges last month (a GREAT way to start out, since you don’t have to spend any money and you will get $3 in staples rewards sent to you the following month for each cartridge you recycle). So the batteries will end up being free for me- I will get all my rewards money back again, and will “roll it” to do the next free deal that comes along :)

    • RM says:

well I understand what you are saying but let me explain how you CAN get them for free.
OK I have a staples rewards card I go to the store and bring 4 empty ink cartridges with me. They in turn scan my card take my empty ink cartridges and about 1 month later I get a $12.00 dollar rewards check! Now I can take that $12.00 and roll it. wahoo it’s free! I did this last week I used my 12.00 to buy a ream of paper and a memory card. I paid with my rewards and will get 15.00 in rewards back . So you see you CAN get the stuff for free. I hope you’ll give it a try.And remember staples accepts manufacturer coupons so I always keep my eyes open for clearance .

  • RM says:

remember you can use manufacturer coupons at staples . also last week I found some single rolls of marcel paper towels for 1.00 and so they were free with coupons ! I know there is a 1.00 marcel printable available online.

  • shelly says:

I looked on the staples website and it looks like your rewards that you earn will be offset by your coupons used. This is what they had as a definition of coupons.
** Coupons Used includes Rewards, manufacturer coupons, Staples coupons and instant savings that are redeemed at the time of sale. Reward balances are calculated after coupon redemption.
So it seems as though you could not “roll” the rewards but would need to use the rewards in a different transaction such as a rebate.

I think this time to be safe I will buy my paper with my rewards and try to get the rebate and then do a seperate transaction for the batteries to see if it will work.

  • Hawkeye Scott says:

The Hammerhill is a $5.49 Staples easy rebate not a Staples reward, a big difference worth highlighting. For those unaware, easy rebates can be entered online instead of by mail making the process quicker and easier. Rebate checks come in 6-8 weeks. A more attractive deal for anyone not wanting to pursue the Staples reward program’s initial start up cost (if not recycling ink cartridges).
