Awesome! I’ve had issues pairing Walgreen’s coupons with manufacturer coupons, anyone else have this issue? The cashier always says that WAGS coupons state Manufacturer right on them….any advice?

    • Kiesha

I have the same problem. They will let me stack with “in ad” store coupons but not the “manufacturers'” coupons in the monthly booklet. 🙁

      • kathleen

My walgreens will not allow me to stack them either. I truly avoid walgreens as much as possible because the two closest are not coupon friendly, more like coupon rude!

    • MICHELLE

if you are using a manu coupon on a item buy a cheap filler to use the wags one also..(butterfinger candy bars are .39 cents)

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The idea of the filler was hard for me to figure out when
I was new. Now I sometimes spend to much time looking for a really inexpensive filler. So I really appreciate the heads up on fillers.

      • Coupon Princess

veggie seeds are 33c each and will probably be 10-15c each soon! I’m tired of buying caramels for fillers!

  2. Amy

these are big and bulk and do not work well…FYI

    • Craig

I got an email about using aternative stuff. methods on a whole bunch of things, and for this, it stated, putting a dryer sheet in your pocket to keep bugs away. Anybody know if this works??

      • LeAnna Shaw

I have used the dryer sheets in the spring when bees are very aggressive-It really seems to work. I always put one in my son’s pocket so when he is on playground, he won’t get stung. I have never tried for mosquitos…but it is worth a try I am thinking. They don’t bother me…guess I am not sweet enough…but hubby and boys get bit all the time.

        • Sadie

A good use for all of the free snuggle sheets I have.

          • Craig

Yeah, exactly what I was thinking!!!! lol plus they loooove me. Uuugh.

      • Anna

Maybe the mosquitoes get immune to it, because it seemed like it worked fine for awhile, but then they started biting again. Maybe it depends on the type/scent of the dryer sheet?

        • Jessica

I have used bounce sheets for years. When we go camping I rub them all over our arms and face to keep the bugs away and then keep it in my pocket- works wonders!! We love this trick!

  3. Monica

Anyone else have a problem with Walgreens not allowing the usage of a Buy One Get One coupon and a value coupon? They say that technically the BOGO coupon goes towards the item that is not free, so you cannot use a dollar value coupon as well since it’s only one coupon per item. Argh. I have this issue a few other places as well though.

    • Sabine

I don’t know why, but I agree with this reasoning.

In my mind, the free item IS the value coupon for buying the first item. So, you would not be able to use an additional coupon.

However, I have not had any problems redeeming a BOGO with a value coupon, so until someone tells me it’s not allowed in their store, I’ll continue to do it.

      • Sabine

And honestly, BOGO are not so common that it would put a huge dent in my savings anyway if I could not do it.

    • LeAnna Shaw

I always put my cents off coupon before my b1g1….and then the b1g1 a few back from that. That way when the register beeps…b/c it needs the price….hopefully the cashier will not deny it. I feel that if a store accepts one coupon per item, they should allow that. I am buying one after all. Who says I need to buy it at full price? just my humble opinion….lol

    • Mari

This BOGO coupon says “coupons cannot be combined”, so it seems to me we aren’t supposed to combine it with another coupon.

      • Olivia Smith

Buy One Get One Free Items: If there is a Buy One Get One Free or a Buy Get One 50% Off promotion, you can use 2 coupons for the items. You can also use a Buy One Get One Free coupon for items that are currently part of a Buy One Get One Free promotion-this essentially makes both items FREE! Some Walgreens cashiers will say NO. If that’s the case, then go to a different store or a different cashier. Most coupon friendly cashiers will allow you to do this since they know that the manufacturer will reimburse there store the full amount for the coupons used.

Hope this helps! 🙂 This is from Collin’s WAGS store guide.

  4. Renee

Even without the Wags coupons, the other coupons will work great other places. Thanks!

  5. Tara

target they would be 1.99 for two with two target 2.00, one 2.00 mani, and one bogo (7.99)

    • Ann Dee

      Thanks!

    • Robyn

I think I’ll do this at Target too. I have way too many problems with my Walgreen’s and coupons.

      • Nona

I just tried it at Target and got yelled at like I was stealing!! I almost started crying!

  6. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Off topic but Walgreens has BOGO for 50% off on the Cover Girl makeup. I have the BOGO free from the paper several weeks ago. Would I get one free and pay 50% off on the second item?
    Thanks for any help!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You would not. Just for example lets say that you are getting makeup that is reg. priced at $10
You buy two (one for $10 the other for $5 due to sale)
Then the coupon will take the lower amount off because the coupon says something like “of equal or lesser value”
So you will pay $10 after coupon and sale.
      HTH!

      • Betsy

the second item doesn’t “ring up” at %50 off. They both “ring up” full price and then when the items are totaled %50 is deducted from the lower price item. If you present your BOGO free coupon the cashier will enter the value manually. They enter the full price of the item. So, YES you will get one for %50 off and one for free.

  7. Lisa

I don’t understand why they care. They get reimbursed for them.

    • ali

actually, you wil be able to get one for free and the other for the 50% off price like you thought. At wags, the 50% savings rings up at the end of the transaction after all of the other coupons have gone through. So using the $10 example, both items would ring up at $10 each, then the cashier would take $10 off for the bogo coupon, then just as they push total the other $5 will come off from the bogo 50% sale. I have done transactions like this many times without problems. 🙂

    • Robyn

My sentiment too. Even when they adjust your coupon down…they still get reimbursed for the FULL coupon price. They’re the one’s making money – not us!!!!!

  8. robyn

THANK YOU!! i had found the BOGO coupon through google but it kept saying, “we are having technical difficulties, try again later” thanks again.

    • Robyn

I got that too…the print limit was probably reached for that day cause it let me print it today.:)

  9. amanda

Don’t forget about the $5 when you purchase 3 or more items. If you have enough computers to do this deal twice, you can submit for $5 refund as purchases do not need to be on one receipt. (I’ve done it, so I know). Makes it $1 for 4 or $.25 each!

  10. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

just did this, make sure you give the bogo first, otherwise they will take off less than 8.99, if you use the WAGS first – it makes them 6.99 so the bogo is price is 6.99.

my wags trys to make me use WAGS coupons first, idont even get them out until after i give over the manuQ’s.

i was told the other day i cant use both – WAGS and Manu Q’s – however i told the lady i just did the same deal and they let me use boht (it was the pulls – up, was stocking up.)

anyways thanks Collin for all your deals you post and your hard work

    • jess

hey.. i just did this deal a couple hours ago.. it worked like a charm.. (For once) i gave the cashier the coupon for the wags 2.00 off which automatically took off 4.00 cuz i was buying 2 i suppose..then i gave her my manufacturer coupon, and the BOGO… she called a manager over to ask how to do it.. he took the 8.99 off and then she took the 2 dollar man off.. woohoo.. i came home and printed the coupons again to try it again in the morning. thanks so much!

  11. Teressa

If you give the manufacturers coupon before the Walgreens coupon it will NOT beep and you dont have to worry about a manager coming over and doing anything. I found that out the first time I started stacking coupons at Walgreens. So now everytime I go there ALL of my Walgreens coupons are at the end. 🙂

    • Olivia Smith

This works unless you have a cashier that inspects each coupon with a fine tooth and comb. There is one that is just not nice to me about it…. I try to avoid her. 🙂 I will be sure to try it next time…. 🙂

  12. Bridget

The cashier told me the monthly book excludes OFF clips! I didn’t have my glasses on so i believed her when it beeped! I hate getting old!

    • Barbara

The coupon in the Walgreens May coupon book has a picture of the OFF Clip-On Starter on the coupon and the coupon states ” Raid Max Bug Barrier with Battery Operated Trigger Spray, 30 oz. or OFF! Clip on Starter”. I purchased 2 of the OFF Clip-On Starters at 2 different Walgreens today both Walgreens deducted $4 for the May coupon, $8.99 for the BOGO coupon and $2 off one coupon. Don’t give up try again with a different cashier or at another Walgreens. If you do the deal twice it will qualify for the SC Johnson $5 Rebate.

      Thanks Collin

    • Melinda

The cashier scanned the wrong coupon because I didn’t see the right one at first…the one at the top of the page for $2 off. The cashier pointed it out to me. The wrong one is only for $1 off and excludes the clip-on.

  13. Chantel R

i did this today…no problems. i used the $2 first, then the bygo, then the wags.

    • Olivia Smith

      AWESOME!

  14. Rei

I found a $2 OFF! any product rebate yesterday at Dick’s Sporting Goods…it’s a manufacturer rebate that’s good til 9/15/10.

  15. Jennifer

My Walgreens is STRICT…note the two printed coupons read “Limit one coupon per purchase”.

  16. mom2schneckens

I just printed the BOGO coupon and went back to print the $2 off … was DENIED! It said I already printed the number of times allowed (but it was two different coupons!) Maybe will try Target, but talk about NOT COUPON FRIENDLY … I hate going there. Oh well. Anyone else have that problem?

  17. Teressa

I shop at my Walgreens so much I’ve made friends w/ one of the cashiers (it helps that he’s a guy too) but he never gives me a hard time and he always jokes that Im get a lot of stuff for nothing…. of course the rest of the crew are VERY friendly too so it helps….

  18. Teressa

As far as Target….there are 2 Targets near me. The one that is closest to me is GREAT!! I normally do not have any problems there BUT the one that is not too far I ALWAYS have issues….it doesnt matter what kind of coupon it is…they inspect and double inspect and half of them are THEIR coupons…it was funny because I went yesterday to the one I dont like..I had a coupon for $1.00 off a product that was .97 cents…the cashier must have been new so she asked a manager to come over…they adjusted the coupon down…FINE..no big deal…my other target would have given me the full amount off…thats not my problem though…I had another coupon for a free item…the free coupon only took $1 off when it scanned but the item was $1.97…..the manager was not going to give it to me free because the coupon ONLY took off $1. I argued this because I would not be getting what the coupon said I was supposed to get….I told her just like you adjusted my last coupon down so i would not get overage you can adjust this too so I get it free like the coupon says…needless to say I will NEVER go to that Target again…I have issues w/ them price matching, using VALID coupons and EVERYTHING…the only reason i go to this Target is if I really wanted something and my regular Target it out but NEVER AGAIN….its not worth the drive and surely NOT the hassle.

  19. Teressa

oh forgot to add…I DID get my free item…LOL

  20. Lori Rimlinger

Just tried this deal at my Walgreen’s and they wouldn’t let me put the wags coupon on. The manager said it says you can’t combine with any other offer. I told them to take it off, that Target was running the same deal and I would go there. I really don’t understand, but they are forcing me to go elsewhere.

    • Lori Rimlinger

Update. I emailed Walgreen’s corporate asking what the coupon policy was. 3 hours later my local Wags store manager called me at home and asked me about the problem I had had that morning. lol. He then explained that I could use a store coupon and a manuf. coupon on each item. Therefore, I could not use the manu $2 off. They would also modify coupons down if the coupon was more than the item. I felt much better because I won. lol. Don’t know if the call was because of the corporate contact or just because of the incident that morning.

  21. Lisa Bettinger

Just did this at my Walgreens and it worked fine once they figured out what order to scan the coupons in. But my total was $2.99, not $1.99 or $1.50 like I have seen posted. But it was still a great deal. $8.50 after tax for 4 clip ons.

    • Lindsay

Do you remember the order that worked for you? I had trouble today!

Also, don’t forget to submit for the $5 SC Johnson rebate to make it even better!

  22. Erin

I just did this deal at my Walgreens. I gave her the $2.00 MQ, then the BOGO and of course it beeped. I just told the cashier that it wasn’t supposed to beep b/c all the Q’s were legit. She didn’t even question it. She just over rode the beep. Then I gave her the Wags and it took off the additional $8.00 (I bought 4). So YAY!! I had success. I hope everyone else does too.
