This is great! I am going to give them to my husband you just got a ticket for using his phone while driving. Thank you
That’s too funny! I have a teenage cousin who needs those. 😉
AWESOME! I have a 16 yo daughter. While I don’t think she would text and drive, it can be a funny reminder without Mom saying something!
thanks! I will give to my fiance because he always on iphone while drive. I hate it!
Glue on 2 wiggly eyes and it’s an instant finger puppet for your kiddos!
Really cute gift idea to spread a good message…Check out this web site: https://zerofatalities.com/ in case you need a reminder why texting and driving is so dangerous!
I can’t seem to get it to work- I registered with the site, but after I click order socks, the field for School/Group Name keeps being rejected. What did you guys put in this field?
I put in Zannes Safety Club … it worked…
I put Hip2Save as my group! Worked fine. 🙂
That is one of the strangest things Ive seen in a long time. Whatever works!
Crazy but great if it works.
Michigan is passing a new law next month for no texting while driving so these are great. A little different but hey they will remind us. We can still use the phone while driving here but there will be some big fines for texting!!!
We have had that law in TN, but honestly, how easy it is to determine if someone is texting while driving? They could have their hands lowered or not have sent the message when they see the police officer. Very hard to make it stick.
My Dad was t-boned by a girl who was texting and ran a redlight. She admitted it but still I don’t think she was cited.
I dont uderstand how they can tell. Will they be pulling everyone over that has a cell phone in their hand. I honestly love to talk on my phone but in all honesty I think that both should be banned. When I was younger we didnt have cell phones and what kids dont understand is the fact that you know what I lived. I would actually sometimes have to take turns on the home phone with my brother…lol
Thanks! Great way to spread the message!
Thanks for this link!
I’ve gotta say that I only recently began reading your blog, on the advice of my favorite grocery store cashier, and I have to tell you that I am VERY impressed! A lot of couponing sites repeat information from other sites, but you never fail to come through on unique offers.
Thank you for what you do!!
what a fun idea. . . . . . . . I wonder what they look like. I wonder if one could take some old knit gloves they don’t want anymore and cut the finger ends off (if you wanted to give a bunch to some texting teens . . . . . or adults). I wonder if they would work as well. I guess it is the message that counts (not the text message, the thumb sock message).
Or use them to get your kids to stop sucking their thumb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like that idea!
I wonder if they would fit over a pacifier I am trying to break my 2 yr old!
I actually used a kid thumb guard to break both my boys (one was 6 and one was 3 at the time) of this habit. It worked like a gem. You can just search the internet by thumb sucking guard and it will pop up. It is expensive though. My younger one needed a bit more time to break the habit and I had run out of the wrist strips for the thumb guard so I put the white athletic tape on his thumb day and night and that did the trick but a lot less expensive. It took about 40 days though to break them of the habit. Good luck
My sister cut the tip off the pacifier and her 1 year old wouldn’t have anything to do with it after that. He said it was “yucky”!
This is what I’m thinking! 🙂 I can hope it’s a reminder in some way at least 😉
Now THAT is a GREAT idea!! 🙂
That’s exactly what I told my 4 year old that keeps sucking her two middle fingers I was getting them for. I felt guilty posting that I was going to use it for a purpose other than what it was intended for. I feel much better now knowing I’m not the only one out there.
I worked in Orthodontics for 9 years and we used to tell mom’s to take tube socks and put them on your child’s hands like a glove and then safety pin the socks to the sleeves of their jammies so they couldn’t take them off in the middle of the night. Most of the time the finger habit happens when they are tired, so this a great way to eliminate the habit! And it doesn’t cost a fortune! Good luck everyone!!!!!
Thanks for the great idea Christy. I hadn’t heard of the tube sock idea.
Interesting idea. Unfortunately, unless they are permanent I don’t think is going to stop people from texting.
I’m sure they would be good for other uses, though.
weird. lol
what is the group name?
Got a pair for my boss who occasionally texts me while he’s driving to tell me when he just ran a stop sign. (true story)
Even if you don’t plan on using them for yourselves, get them and pass them on to someone you love. One of my best friends from high school was recently killed because she was texting while driving. She was 22. She had a head on collision. What a silly reason to lose such a wonderful and valuable life. Whatever you have to say can wait. : ) I used to do it all the time too….no more. Spread the word ladies…and gentlemen. : )
So sorry for your loss.
My 15 year old daughter is starting drivers ed, next monday. What a perfect thing to give to her.
I have to say never before had I seen people doing so many other things but driving , when behind the wheel, then here in America. You will not see people eating, putting their make-up on, texting, reading and other things in Europe and driving is way faster then here. Normal roads are 100 km/hr not 55 miles/hr and yet there are statistically many, many less accidents. Because when you drive, you drive, that’s simple as that, no other mumbo jumbo, going on. Good for the states implementing the laws and heavy fines. Bravo on that!
This is great message!! I got a pair for a cousin of mine.
Now for use for the sucking the thumb I like that idea. I have a six year old that I could yet break of that.
I really fail to see how these will stop people from texting while driving.
can you order those even if you don’t live in the VS ?
(I live in Europe)
