Keep checking Target for clearance. There is going to be a ton in every department-if not already. It’s the time of year when we do resets, so there will be great deals. Shop with your coupon binders because you are going to kick yourself if you have a coupon at home and you miss out!
Diana says:
Yep so true.. saw a bunch of red clearance today while shopping to see what coupons I need to bring on tomorrow’s visit. I came across axe, edge, mitchum and many others all under 2.00..so with coupons.. maybe .50 each? Good Luck to everyone
cjs says:
Thanks for the heads up!!!
Also, if anyone has the Rite Aid Video Values $3 off Pure & Natural coupon (I think from March), my store had them BOGO this week. If you use that plus the $2 mfr, might be free.
cjs says:
my store = Rite Aid (not Target)…just re-reading my post & wanted to clarify. Happy couponing!
Tanya Weltzin says:
Great advice!!! thanks..couponing is so fun!!! I know I am getting addicted….probably will have to cut myself off of buying things I think i need!! but who can pass up a good deal!! Although I will admit i needed a frame and went to kohls…felt like i didnt get a deal…knew i spent too much so went to walmart instead. I am being much frugular…even in things i have to buy but dont want to spend a lot on!!! I feel like i cant pay full price for anything!!
Chantel R says:
Next time you’re at Kohls fill out the thing at the register with you email and they will email you a coupon for $5 off. (My coupon went to my junkmail, thankfully I checked it!) It’s $5.00 off of anything. Even if it’s under $5. I bought a shirt for my daughter that was $4.80 and got it for free-can’t beat that. Also I got a coupon in the mail yesterday from Kohls for $10 off of any purchase between April 21-23. Kohls can be expensive sometimes, but you can get jeans for as low as $5 right now on the clearance racks. I got a pair of levis for my son for $6.20 this week, they had some even cheaper, but not his size. Bummer.
MommySpendsLess says:
I can often find great picture frame deals at Michael’s. They have them on sale frequently, plus they have their weekly 40% off coupons.

I found Degree Men’s deodorant on clearance for $1.17 today at Target. There is a $1/1 coupon for it in a Target home mailer, or there also (at least I still think) like $1.25/1 coupons online for them.
The 6 packs of Gatorade were on clearance for $2.94 or something like that, a pretty good deal. Too bad there aren’t coupons for that!
Also, I found some of the Energy Saver GE light bulbs on clearance for $2.78, FREE after the $2/1 Target coupon and the $1/1 manufacturer coupon (I think you can get this both from the paper and online).
Too bad I had such a bad experience today at Target or I might be tempted to go back tomorrow and see if I missed anything good.

I also had a bad experience with a cashier who questioned every single coupon + the manager was also picky. I was also doing the intuition razor with $5 g/c deal in two seperate transactions. Well my second transaction I noticed they overcharged me so I asked to check my transaction because I was pretty sure I had to pay less and maybe some coupons didnt get scanned. The manager gave me a face and said ” do you really want me to rering the items?, I was there I saw the cashier ring up all your coupons”. I said “yes, I do want you to rering every single item”. She looked pretty upset, but hey guess what?? from paying $18.99, my total ended up at $7.00! The only bad thing is that she gave me a wrong giftcard with no $5 amount from the razor deal which pissed me off the next time I shopped trying to use it. Target is such a pain but hey! I am not gonna let them ruin my shopping. Anyone know corporate #??? I totally misplaced the paper I wrote it on.
Nicole says:
1-800-440-0680. Target corp number. I have found it all depends on the cashier/manager you get! I have been told by different cashiers now that I shouldn’t shop with that many coupons on a Sunday morning, later at night, Saturday nights… hmmm, when do they want my business??? Good luck couponing!
Laurie says:
Hey, the’re all hourly waged people, so they shouldn’t care about re ringing up stuff! When I used to be a cashier, I would always say to people who apologized for taking so long “No problem…I get paid by the hour!”
Maria R. says:
Are these only sold at target or are these also sold at other stores like walmart?
Anonymous says:
im having troubles with coupons in targent every single time. today i have been told that they never seen so many coupons… i bought vaseline, light bulb, kelloggs cereal and beach towel.. obviously i had coupons for every items.
Chantel R says:
That was rude of them to say they never saw so many coupons! You can use a coupon for every item if you want! It’s not illegal! I would call corporate and complain!
Elizabeth says:
That must just be a local thing. The Target I frequent never makes a big deal about my coupons, and if it beeps they just push it through, no questions asked! The other day the cashier even called the register a liar because she knew I had bought an item it was saying was unavailable for the coupon. And I don’t have to look for a “good” cashier, they’re all very accommodating. Hopefully thing will get better at your location.
Annette says:
There are two Targets near me. One of them is extremely coupon friendly and has never even questioned a coupon I’ve handed them. I’ve given them a stack of 30+ coupons in one transaction and they don’t even bat an eye. 90% of their cashiers are very friendly and helpful. The other store near me is a pain in the patootie nearly every time. There is only one cashier I’ve been to that was smart enough to not just let the register tell her what to do. The other cashiers seem to think the register always knows best, or they’re scouring over the coupons like I’m trying to rob them.
Hollie says:
My local Target has started this new thing where you have to lay the coupon on the item as it’s on the belt so they can scan them together. This is a pain because as I’m sure you all know how hard it is to keep 3 kids contained while trying to pay! They don’t make it any easier with all the toys and candy right at their level. The other day the cashier told me that I needed to get a new printer because the coupon wouldn’t scan. OH POOR THING!!! I’ll get right on that!! I’m sure my husband will be thrilled when I tell him that the lady at target said I needed a new printer so I have to buy one! LOL He’s not going to be happy with the fact that I need to buy a new ink cartridge after only 2 weeks!! SHHH I’m not telling him!! LOL I know I’m not the only person using coupons like that in my target. Everytime I’m there I see a woman that has a baseball card binder filled with her coupons! Well off to do some shopping!! Happy deal hunting all!!!
Missy says:
I never had trouble with coupons at Target until yesterday. I was doing the scrubbing bubbles extend-a-clean deal. The internet coupons for “buy one cleaner get refill free” weren’t going through. The woman told me that if an internet coupon doesn’t go through right away, they can’t take it. I even went to customer service, but no help there. I ended up returning one of the refills. Can’t complain really, after the rebate, I’ll have gotten two cleaners and one refill for free!! But I am starting to have more trouble at all of my stores with internet coupons.
Katie says:
I am very careful about who I check out with. I pick young people. (not sure if it really works with young people but so it is working for me) So far I have never had any problems. Just be polite. They are only doing their job.
Kristin says:
Awesome coupon! Thanks for sharing.
Lindsy says:
Hey! I posted this in the ottoman post as well, but… My Target manager wouldn’t take my coupons that were over the price of the item. He said their coupon policy states that they only will do that if the price of the item is less than the coupon because of other discounts. Anyone know if that is correct? How is everyone else able to do this?
Chantel R says:
There are supposed to adjust the coupon down to the price of the item, but not all managers do that. They can use their own discretion. You have to find a coupon friendly Target…they do exist–I promise!
Jessica says:
I agree! I have had good luck with my Target lately!
I have even found a cashier or two that like to see how much I can save! Thank goodness – especially after the problems that I have had in the past!
Anonymous says:
Print out the Target coupon policy and keep it in your coupon binder. It specifically states that if the coupon exceeds the price of the item, the coupon can be adjusted to the price of the item. You can find the policy on this site, she has it linked up when you look up Target at the top of the blog.
Gina says:
Lindsy don’t feel bad, the target I go to everytime I must be the bad guy and whip out the old target “coupon policy” seems as though everytime I go I get different peeps but, when in reality it’s the same ones they just can’t learn what to do. They have to call over the supervisor and I will admitt it does get ugly sometimes and my eleven year old coupon buddy sometimes gets embarassed but, she’s gotten used to it and really enjoys gettin all the gooood deals we find thx to hip2save…….
Be tough the customer is always right….
And if you don’t like what’s going on ask for a store manager maybe even a number for corp. ;o)
Rosie says:
Unfortunately, Gina, I don’t believe the customer is always right. Yes there are testy cashiers, to be sure, and we have all had our share. But unfortunately, alot of the issues we are having is, IMHO, a result of coupon fraud, abuse of coupons, when people try to purchase items with the wrong coupon, etc.,(I am not suggesting that the comments above are a result of any of these practices) and simply checkers who are uneducated on coupons in general. I think alot of the stores will have no choice but to educate their cashiers on couponing and store policy as more and more people are couponing. Bottom line for me is as long as I match the right coupon to product, am educated myself on what may be considered a fraudulent cpn (not always easy to tell) and I watch my transaction CAREFULLY, most of these issues can be resolved. I wish more cashiers from some of the stores we frequent would comment on these blogs. It would be interesting to hear their perspective.
LeAnna Shaw says:
Rosie-you are correct. Consumers can be decietful and there is a lot of fraud. And I understand stores that are wary of that. However, IF we know we are using a reputable coupon(I.E printed from coupons.com) it should go through. I have had ALL types of coupons beep. Mostly the cashiers will just manually put them in. But today I was told at Walmart that they would only do that for a newspaper clipped coupon, but not an internet one. WTH? The front end manager said a beep is a beep! I said…well lets see what happens when I get to the checkout. Everything was beeping. The scotchbrite one that a lot of pple had trouble w/ being told it was fraudulent beeped. The head cashier said..’it is .98 and this is a $1 off coupon.” I asked her to adjust it down(walmarts policy does not clarify if they do this-so I was willing to back down until I knew). However when the other coupons beeped(from the sunday inserts)-then the manager came over. She saw my scotch brite sponge and asked if I was getting it-I told her it was .98 and the coupon was for $1-she said NO problem-we will adjust it down!! And to make it all even funnier-the cashier said to me ‘where do you get these coupons?’ I said internet-and she said she had never seen internet printed coupons…Where has she been????
Dana says:
I would print off a copy of Target’s coupon policy and take it with you. If the manager won’t adjust the coupon to less, pull out the policy and read it to them. I had to do that once.
Lolo says:
Lindsy,
Take the manager over to the kiosks that they have in the front of the stores the next time they try to tell you what the coupon policy is and pull it up right there for them. I did this and the manager HAD to reduce the coupon down. (be sure to check it out yourself first so you know where to navigate to, but it is on the target.com website that you can link to from their kiosks in the store.) HTH… I guarantee you will win and have a happier experience and feel more empowered the next time you shop because you will know you are right and have the resources to back it up and since it is in their store and not just some piece of paper you are bringing along, they can not deny you!
Nicole J says:
EMAIL CORPORATE PLEASE!!!! THEY WILL PUT THAT STORE IN CHECK!!!!
Mitchell Wischmann says:
I believe the Target coupons will automatically adjust down when they are scanned too.
Dwagnfly says:
I wish their corporate people would read the blogs about them. They can learn a lot about themselves.

Better deal at Rite Aid- Pure & Natural brand is bogo this week, and the liquid hand soap is $4.69, so you can do this:
Pure and Natural hand soap $4.69
Pure and Natural hand soap $0.00 (bogo)
-$2/1 mq x2
-$3/1 RA VVq from march
=$2.31 overage
(If your store will let you use more than one VV q in a transaction, use another one for an additional $3 overage. Note that Rite Aid’s “official” policy is they do not allow overage, but I get it at all my local stores with no problems)
HTH!!
Erin says:
Yah! Thanks for the tip! I love it when there’s a fun little surprise in past months’ Video Values!
Erin says:
Thanks so much, Brandy. I wanted to get the Tampax, but I wasn’t thrilled with my scenario (about $3 OOP, not including tax, which is before Qs in my state), but thanks to your tip, I scored 2 Tampax, 2 Pure and Natural, Puffs, Downey, and a Magnum 5 razor cartridge refill for $1.80! The subtotal was .65! The cashier was really impressed. I don’t know if she realized that I’ll also be getting a $2 Tampax rebate. Thanks so much! I thought today’s Old Navy 50 percent off stuff-and-save trip was going to be the bargain highlight of my day, but this was way more exciting!
BrandyK says:
You’re welcome!
I had to get cough medicine for my daughter who is sick…again, and needed the overage, so I was searching high and low. I had already done one transaction yesterday with just the VVqs and I was THRILLED when I saw this mq!
Carly says:
Found tons of the Flipper Pictureka games at my Target today (Las Vegas) for $4.77 down from almost $20! If you have any of the $5 coupons from the Monopoly/Scrabble/Pictureka card games they will be free (and I got overage)! Also got overage on a Battleship Expess game on clearance for $2.47 with my $4 off Q! woohoo!

My Target has several of these marked down to $3.77 !!

The Target in Lafayette, Indiana also has these items on clearance as well as many more in the hygiene area. Bring your coupon folder as you will need it. :O)
Paulette says:
Ohhh. I am ssooo MAD. I just got off the phone for targets daily deal..14.99 for a bed in a bag and they said it was a typo. I talked to a bunch of people on the phone”in charge” and they refused to give me the price!!!Now I’m late on top of that. Should have stayed in bed.gggrrrr
Anonymous says:
On the main page for the daily deals it lists it at $14.99, but when you click on it it says it’s $44.99 and up. Not too cool Target.
Anonymous says:
Wow that’s one heck of a typo!
Elizabeth says:
For the record that is illegal. It’s a bait and switch. They get you to want the product at one price and then they tell you oh no it’s actually more. They have to give it to you for the lowest published advertised price even if it’s their mistake and something as understandable as a typo. All growing up my dad ran a store and if something was published wrong it didn’t matter he had to honer it! You can report them to the Better Business Bureau or the Consumer protection agency. They will be fined for not working this out with you (and breaking the law). They will also have to take action to show the Consumer protection agency that this will not happen again. Then they will call you to find out when you would like come pick out your 14.99 bed in bag. The best part is the agency takes carer of everything for you. Most of time if I have a problem, I send a letter to the manager of the store telling them the problem and letting them know if they do not fix it I will be contacting theses agencies. I have only once had to go that far and actually report someone. Most of the time you will get an apologetic phone call within a week and the manager will make things right. I hate getting pushed around. You just have to keep going up until you find someone who knows you’re right. Good Luck!
For the record I am always very nice and polite, even if they get rude with me, I just stand my ground and make it clear to them that they can’t do this.
Paulette says:
Thank you for taking the time to let me know! I am going to write a letter and maybe my daughter will FINALLY get a real comforter.
Hollie says:
I did this a few years back when turkey deep fryers started to get popular. I was in our local Academy Sports and I was looking at the different kinds because I was going to buy my husband one for his birthday. I saw this one that had a sign hanging above a huge stack of fryers that said like $35. I picked one up and did the rest of my shopping but when I got to the front all my stuff came to like $200! I asked how much everything was and she told me that the fryer was $95. I told her I didn’t want it then went back and looked at them again. After thinking about it for a minute I went and asked for the manager. He had to give it to me for the price on the sign then had them moved before I was even out of the store!! LOL When I worked in retail if we marked something wrong or didn’t have the right information on the signs and somebody asked about it we had to give it to them for whatever it said. Most stores just do it but Toys R Us is the worst!! They never have good signs and I can never tell what’s on sale and what’s not until I get to the front to pay. I hate that store!!!
Renee says:
Where in the store are these Pure & Natural soaps? Anyone? THANKS!
Carrie says:
I have seen them with the body wash and bar soaps but they may be with the hand soaps too.

I found them on an end cap today at my Target – along with bottles of body wash marked down to $2.98 from $6.99. Scored 1 of each for only $.33 each after 2 MQ’s!

Thanks for the picture–it helps a lot. I wasn’t familiar with this item.
Natasha says:
I just got the Cherry Blossom Shower Gel for $2.98 minus coupon to $.98! This is a $7.99 larger size bottle and smells great
Made with Coconut Oil so very good for skin!
Christina says:
I was just @ Target ad couldn’t even locate this brand. I saw it in the past. I wonder if they discontinued it.
The ottaman’s were still full price too.
Oh well I did get 10 more Gillette Razors.
Danielle says:
WOW! This is a great coupon…at my Rite Aid, they have the Pure and Natural body wash for buy one get one free until Saturday, so you could use two $2/1 coupons, to get each body wash for $1.50 a piece. That’s a great deal compared to $6.99 each at normal price. Just a heads up, if you were wanting body wash and can’t find it at Target.
Anna Wibalda says:
Yeah, scored four bar packs today! Thanks for posting, got overage on all four!
Rachel says:
I found 2 bar soaps at my Target in Muskegon, MI and there were more left. All marked $1.68. Used both $2 q’s and got overage. The purple ottomans were all sold out. I did find lots of Snuggies on sale for $3.74!!! I thought about wiping them out, but decided to leave some for everyone else. I don’t think I have ever started my Christmas shopping this early.
Tallymomma says:
Looked all over that store and not a bar to be found. But did manage to find the Benadryl sticks and not one issue at the register!
Kristin says:
Excellent Attitude! Thank you!
Karen says:
I got the last two hand soaps at my Target priced at 1.98 so they were both free! Thanks!
melissa says:
My local Target had the liquid hand soaps marked down to $2.07 and they smell really great. I shop there all the time, sometimes have issues just like every other store. I do make a habit though of learning which cashiers seem to be easier to work with than others though and go to those lines, even if it’s longer.
Lis says:
Not sure if this is too off topic, but since people were posting their problems with Target, I wanted to ask if anyone had the same problem with Walgreen’s? Every time I go there it seems like they mess up my deal scenarios, and by the time I leave, I realize I spent more than I was supposed to. I think I even saw a manager just plain out not use one of my coupons once. I never get the same good deals at Walgreen’s that are advertised. It makes me really not want to go there…ever.
Bridget says:
Got 4 bars at rite aid today for .69 cents total. very nice soap!!
Denise says:
my target has the handsoap marked down to $1.98 so free with coupon!
Heather G says:
I usually have pretty good luck at my target.
I actually got a bottle of zyrtec that was marked wrong on the shelf. It was a 30 count and I got it for $1.94! I used $6 in coupons! They charged me way too much…as I was walking out I stopped at cust serv. The girl had an attitude, but she adjusted it. Just be patient and polite. I kept thinking to myself ” Hey, she’s very young…one day, she will understand how far a dollar really goes.”
Clearance is always hit or miss. and NEVER feel bad for having 100 coupons. My cashiers in Hurst,tx normally snap at the register and tell them to hush. LOL.
I LOVE to educate the cashiers about how I get such great deals….only when they ask though
You never know who might really benefit from your info. My friend taught me two tips about couponing and ever since then my whole has changed! Whoop! I;m a lot richer now!
