I tried to use the Office depot coupon last week at Staples for paper. They said they would accept it, but it would void the rebate.

    • Kim in OC

I had a similar experience where they said I could not use a competitors coupon on an item that already had a staples easy rebate. But Hey, $1 reams of paper and $1 packs of photo paper are still a really good deal!

    • Craig

I got mine with rebate. Does not say that on the q. tell them.

Staple’s, trying to make up their own rules compared to Corp. disguisting.
Following Collins advice here on Hip 2 Save…..PRICELESS.

      • Craig

Sorry, take that back, I just read it and I guess it does. Dough! Well, hope they dont read all the small print then! LOL. GL . Sorry for all the post Im on a H2S high from all the great deals from here today! lol

  2. Michelle

Usually with these limited items if you are a teacher and have the school savings card you can get 25 of the item. However, this doesn’t change the rebate limit. Great for the other items though.

  3. LegendsoftheFall

The Staples in Oxon Hill, MD didn’t have the scissors that were advertised, no rainchecks.

  4. Craig

Oh man! I was just there earlier before this posted.

Yeah I just picked up that Micro Cut shredder yesterday using the $10 ODq. Then saw it was on sale even farther today + $20 rebate!

Sooo if you buy this alone, Definately use that $10 q bringing down the price from $139.99 to $19.99 after all is said and done!

For those having issues with the $10q, I strongly suggest looking at last weeks thread. Someone posted the email they got from Staples HQ stating they do accept these. I suggest you print that and bring it in like I did so you can say, well Corp. says you do, this is an email from them stating this fact.
HTH! Worked for me, could’t say jack then! hahahaa Staple’s uninformed employee’s take that!

    • Craig

Oh and yes, I did take back my receipt and get the price adjustment/rebate too. Woot Woot.
Maybe Collin can add that part about using the $10q on the shredder up above showing the “better” deal available!! 🙂

Keep in mind the very small print reads, one per customer.per household. Might need 2 stores to go to, or a friend willing to help ya out! LOL

      • Craig

And I must add if you do have the Staples Rewards card, They are changing the amt you get back on Ink. Starting July 1st, 2010, you’ll will get back $2 compared to the current $3.

If you have any, do it now before this change to get that extra $1. I had 3 alone today so its worth it. HTH

        • Craig

sorry, thats on the ones you give them for recyle for those wondering.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Craig,
Can you or somone post the link ( or where to find ) to the email from Staple HQ.

anyone still got $1 off ang BIC stationary item? i used mine today for the BIC pens and got 2 for free.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

where was this found at? SS, RP, etc? what date?

      • margaret in seattle

it’s actually a online printable from BIC website. just checked and they already took it away.

  6. sivkah

I can’t find the $10/$25 coupon using the link. Where should I be looking?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Are you sure, I just clicked on it after reading your post and it worked.

Oh now that I have pulled this shredder out and have had time to inspect and use it. Its great for the price and the pieces are tiny!, the smallest Ive seen. Looove that part. But, if your used to wide-mounth openings this is not the one to get. The paper what? 8.5 x 11 goes in with no side play so in order to keep this from getting jam ups long term, make sure you get the sheet straight up n down before putting in bin. I thought this would also do cds to, but it dont say on the outside (normally would) but it does do credit cards (do in middle as per instructions) and staples. Great for credit cards! I did mine and they are un-reconizeable in this micro-cut size! And defiantely a good deal especially at this sale price.
It is made in China btw. Imagine that.

  7. Mr. Free

Also the Marcal paper towels singles are only 1.00 cha ching…

    • Nikki

There is a dollar off coupon in last sunday’s SS too for Marcal!!!

  8. Laurie W

I just tried to purchase several of the one dollar items but I guess you can’t buy them online for one dollar. It is a in-store deal. I dont have a Staples where I live. Does this sound right to anyone?

  9. nancy m

    quick question:
If I print out my rebate money from the staples site and it is more than what I am buying – how do you get the rest back?
Or if it is more than what you are buying and you use that recheck IP do you loose the rest of the money? I hope I am making sense asking this question.. I have $26 check that I have not printed yet from the staples site but I don’t want to blow it either.

Can you use a a $10/$30 card ( not gift card( it is like a cpn but not paper more like a card, at staples?

  10. hmolah

Hmmm….wonder why my Staples add in the newspaper didn’t have the $1 Days sale on it? Is this just regional!?!?

  11. Carrie

I wonder if they tax the first price $139.99 or the amount after the instant $90 savings?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      the later (final amt).

  12. susan

It was not in paper and it was not marked at the store. I had to ask and then they looked it up in their computer and gave me the sale price on the items I wanted.

  13. Lorine Edwards

I ordered mine..2 paper but when i look at my order summary because i’m trying to fill out the rebate and it is asking for rebate # and I can’t find that just the 10 digit order #..?

  14. Julie

Wow – thanks for this! I did take in the Office Depot $10/$25 coupon, and I just asked if they took competitor’s coupons and they said yes. They rang up my 2 pack of HP printer paper, and my 2 packs of HP photo paper, and the 2 packs of dry erase markers I got my husband (he’s a teacher), and the pack of colored straws I got my daughters. All together it was $24.40. I came home and filed for my rebate, and will be getting $25.96 back. So I actually made money by purchasing these 7 items. Amazing. And, I’d never have known about this deal if it weren’t for H2S – and the best part is, I actually needed everything I bought anyway, and would definitely have bought it at full price!

And about the tax – my store just charged me on the discounted amount (after coupons and instant rebates)…I’m in MA, not sure if it’s different on a state by state basis.

  15. STACEY M.

I went to Staples this morning and got the paper, 2 photo packs and the dollar pens came to 25 and change. I then used the 10 instant savings and spent 16.93. my reabtes in the mail r for 3.99 +17.98. I win thanks hippies!

  16. Lmorocco

I was just at my staples and they would not take the competitor coupon on items that have a rebate. I just got the deal on the paper last week, I think it depends on who is working 🙁

    • Craig

If I were you Id go to another one if you can, I did this twice this week and both “deals” had rebates!!! If not, ya might want to tell them, others are able to get this, Im going to call customer service!. Who knows, maybe that alone will do the trick. IDK HTH.

Went today and got the “other deal” the MM deal! She told me at this store, they did not accpet the but did price match if the item(s) were more than the coupon. Whatever I have the letter here (copied it) from CS stating you do accept them. Well what she was saying/did, since no items were over $10 each or more, she took (2) $5 off each of the photo paper prices since originally they are $9.99. So again, this store took em and got all the rebate(s) stuff too.

Did that deal all the same minus the 12pk of pens. Still over $25 worth, so no need to. (unless ya need them or any other items). So this was about a $7MM then! Woo hoooooo.

      Thanks again Collin!!!!

      • Craig

Last time I swear1 lol IF some of you are wondering about when you do the rebate online and you get all done and it only shows 1 of the 2 rebates you should get off this photo 4X6 paper, its how they word it/ present it. Those final statements just show the rebate(s) your entitled to not the amounts. Thats why its not showing $17.98 for the $8.99 rebate. HTH?!!

I too was concerned and went back to Staples today to verify this. IF your still concerned, keep the item and receipt(s). Return w/ rebate check (if wrong) to store and explained what happened. Return the 1 you didnt’ get a rebate on. End deal.

Im keeping one just incase this does happend. Other one is going out in a gift bag soon. lol
        HTH!!! GL 🙂

  17. Cheryl B.

http://www.hip2save.com rocks! I went to Staples earlier today using all these tips and got over $60 in goodies for FREE, not to mention another $2.57 in my pocket. Wow! My kids’ school will love to get all these supplies in the fall.
