Stephanie’s Experience:
Hey, Collin! I just wanted to let you know how awesome it is that you have introduced me to Restaurant.com. Since I first heard about this website, I’ve bought a few certificates for family members, since my town and the surrounding areas only have 4 restaurants available.
So, I never got to use any of these certificates for myself until recently.
We went on a family vacation to Anaheim, CA last week. (Well, we tagged along with my dad who was going to his union’s national convention.) I knew that we were going to be staying in a hotel without a kitchenette, so of course, there was going to be lots of eating out! I also knew that being that its a bigger city, food was definitely going to be more expensive for us. So, I signed onto Restaurant.com to see what was available. SOOO many choices within walking distance of our hotel. (I’m going to assume this is because we were only a block from Disneyland!) I was able to choose a different restaurant for each day! (Don’t you hate getting into the fast food rut on vacation?) I bought 5 $25 certificates and 3 $10 certificates. Dad was going to be in meetings on some days, so he wouldn’t be joining us for lunch, plus we had Disneyland to explore!
Every time we entered a restaurant, we gave them the certificate and they knew exactly what it was. Not one place made us felt uncomfortable to use them, unlike some experiences I’ve had with restaurants and coupons. Once we arrived home, we looked through receipts to see exactly how much we spent on food and how much we saved with Restaurants.com. With gratuity added, we only spent $152 for 5 dinners for 4 people, and 3 lunches for 3 people (including the price I paid for the certificate). Not too bad when we had budgeted over double that!!! Definitely a way for people to save money on vacation when they know they are going to be eating out.
Also, I found a favorite new restaurant. Fire+Ice Grill. Unfortunately, they don’t have one around here.
But if you are ever in a city where it is located, I’d MORE than recommend trying it out! Especially with a certificate from Restaurant.com.
Thanks to Restaurant.com, 4 lucky Hip2Save readers will each win a $50 Restaurant.com gift certificate!! Note that this is a $50 gift certificate that you can use to purchase $50 worth of Restaurant.com certificates!
