Guest Post By Nicole from Nicole’s Nickels:
This is month number 8 of ways YOU can make some money from home! I know many of you are on your way to becoming survey and mystery shopping experts!
1. Surveys
Surveys help me pay for my gas each month. I never expected to get rich from doing surveys, so anything I make is a nice surprise and supplement to my income! Use a separate email address for surveys – I don’t get spam from the companies, but I do get a lot of survey invitations since I’m signed up with so many companies! You can also read more about all of the survey companies I am signed up with and my experiences with them. This month I wrote a Top 10 FAQ’s post for surveys you may want to check out.
A. The first company for this week is Ipsos I-Say. They were one of the first companies I signed up with and I enjoy the surveys I receive from them. I get a large variety of survey invites from them for varying rewards and have gotten some great product tests. They pay timely upon cash-out request. Sign up HERE.
B. The second survey company I wanted to bring you today is Survey Savvy. I only receive about 3 invitations per week for this company but enjoy the thoughtful and high quality surveys they send me. I have always been paid timely by Survey Savvy – they send a check on your request and the payout minimum is reasonable. Sign up HERE.
2. Mystery Shopping
If you’re new to mystery shopping, you’ll want to read my Mystery Shopping 101 post. If you are an experienced mystery shopper please be aware that it is a violation of your ICA with each company to reveal what places you shop with each company so please don’t jeopardize your shopper status in the comments of this post! You can also read more about what companies I shop for and my experiences with them. This month I wrote a Top 10 Mystery Shopping FAQ’s post you may want to check out. Make sure to take mystery shopping seriously – if you get an assignment, do it! There are emergencies of course, but I think it’s important to consider it as a job and treat your assignments accordingly. Read directions carefully and follow them!
A. The first mystery shopping company I wanted to tell you about today is Service Intelligence! I have shopped with them from the beginning and they shop a large chain in my area. The form is extensive but I find it doesn’t take me too long. Assignments are posted frequently and while they do email assignments out at times, I find it best to check the site frequently before the best shops are take by others! Sign up HERE.
B. The second mystery shopping company I wanted to tell you about is Ritter Associates. Ritter is great about sending daily emails with open assignments. I find their assignment system a little confusing when I log on to search so I rely on their daily emails to find out what’s out there. The shop reports were straightforward and payment was timely. Sign up HERE.
Remember, it’s FREE to sign up for the mystery shopping companies I discuss here. No legit mystery shopping company will ever make you pay to sign up. Sign up, get some assignments and earn some extra money today!

Jesi says:

have started mystery shopping primarily because of these monthly posts of Nicole’s
So far, I’ve enjoyed my assignments, although I have yet to be actually paid for anything (and I started in mid-July). I may hold off taking anything else – I’ve been shopping for two different mystery shopping companies – until I understand the pay schedule a little better.
Anyway, thank you to Nicole for providing all this great info!
fairydust says:
LOL! Bizarre – as I was typing my first post about not getting payment, the one company I did that mid-July first shop for put that payment in my paypal account. So Yay on mystery shopping!
Nichole says:
fairydust, I have used all of the ones Nicole has recommended and never had a problem. Most of them will pay the following month, only a few take 2 months. Maybe you can check to make sure the survey was accepted. I am not sure if you can tell me the company via these site but I could probably give you some insight. Not the name of the place you shopped but the name of the mystery shopping company.

i still dont understand what mystery shopping is. can someone please clue me in? are we testing the stores?
Nicole @ Nicole's Nickels says:
Shannon: Have you read my mystery shopping 101 post that I link to in the post? Mystery shopping is evaluating a store or a service. It’s pretty wide ranging and there is everything from secret shops to revealed audits.

Opinion Outpost seems to work pretty well so far. Minimum payout limit etc. Im waiting till I have more to cash in for an Amazon Gift Card.
E-Rewards was the first one I tried. Some of the surveys are super boring & somewhat tedious but they all end in 15mins or less even if they say more. I have cashed in my rewards right away and gotten LOTS of free great subscriptions to magazines I love, ones that usually arent found free in other places, and I can send them as gifts to friends. Ive also gotten gift cards to florists and once a year can get a $15 credit added to my Borders Rewards card to use for whatever I want for $15!! I usually hold off and cash that in around xmas time each year.
Im not active enough in searching for Swagbucks and had to take down my toolbar when my compy kept fritzing out, or Im sure Id be making more. I earned one Amazon card just for searching alone, so not too bad.
Mypoints went nowhere, as did Ipos etc.
I finally got in to Pinecone Research and I LOVE IT!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! The surveys are great and things Im actually interested in. The product surveys are the best. They ask you if you like this label better than that.. this price better than that etc etc. I love companies who listen to their consumers! And all surveys are chosen for my demographic and likes. Plus I get a check for almost every survey I complete… and this week I am being sent a large sample of something to try that isnt on the market! yay!
Suellyn says:
I just signed up for surveysavvy and ipsos. I am looking forward to these. Every little bit of money definitely helps! I use mypoints and have enough to get some gift cards for my kids for Christmas so I am pleased with that. I would love to know of other ones as well that are honest and legitimate. While I’m not expecting a lot, every little bit helps especially in today’s world. Thanks to all in advance for assistance.!
Renee says:
Hey All- I signed up for a free sample yesterday and am being hit with all these companies that say they pay for taking surveys. Are these companies legit?….Inboxdollars, Snapbox, ArcaMax, Lightspeed Panel……
Thanks for your time…
