  1. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So we can get both the crest and the oral b? I thought it was a limit of two total for them.

  2. Carla

There is also the P&G coupon rebatebooklet that some people received & it has several $1.50 off Vicks product coupons in it that you could use.

    • Lisa

I was going to say the same thing 🙂

  3. Loretta

My Crest UP Rewards have been unlimited (so far). I have purchased multiple boxes of crest this week (maybe 5 or so). HTH, Loretta

  4. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Are all the Vicks vaporizers on sale this week? Does anyone know?

    • Jennifer Kirk

The sticker under the vaporizers said that all vicks and some other brand were 25% off and you get a $2 UP reward.

  5. Lauren

my rite aid had two different kinds of vaporizers on clearance! they were the ones for medium to large rooms and were orginially priced around $90. I got mine for $13! 🙂

  6. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Here’s a dumb question; what’s the difference between a vaporizer and a humidifier? Does anyone have feedback on this product?

    • Angela

I have this product and it’s great for putting steam into the air when someone is sick, similar to sitting in the bathroom with the shower running but less intense. You can also put the Vicks liquid in it to make a more mentholated steam. A humidifier add moisture to the air to make your sinuses and sky not so dry. I used the humidifier almost every day but the vaporizier is more for when someone has a cold. HTH!

    • Lauren

a humidifer doesn’t boil the water before putting it in the air, cool air
a vaporizer boils the water, steam

they both have their positive and negatives….humidifer can put minerals and dust into the air since water isn’t boiled, vaporizer is hot so has potential burning hazard

      hope that helps!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks Lauren and Angela! This helps a lot!

        • Susan

Humidifiers can also cause mold growth – we had tenants who ran theirs 24 hours a day in one room and caused quite a bit of mold growth under the wall paper. Most people wouldn’t have a problem with it because they would only run it occasionally. HTH!

  7. sam

No limit on the crest or oral b. I have done 35 of each so far at 12 different stores

    • Michelle

35? So that’s why when I go in they are all out of stock…

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

my store lets me pay for them even tho they don’t have them in stock. They order them for me and then they have them waitining for me on the next shipment date. This way I don’t clear the shelves.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That is really smart of you and considerate too! I wonder if other stores allow this?
Anybody know? I sure wish we had a rite aide. ..they always seem to have great deals!
          Happy Couponing!

Could someone please tell me what pg and rp stand for I am pretty new at this?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

pg is Proctor and Gamble. rp is Red Plum. Both are different types of coupon inserts packets received in the Sunday newspaper. Sometimes Red Plum comes in your mailbox.

  9. tilla ham

Hi, i Just wanted to say i have not experienced a limit on the toothpaste/brushes either. I purchased 5 toothpastes and 6 toothbrushes and all of them produced an up reward…which I think used on 4 large packages of cottonelle toilet paper!!! Phew, we were out:)

  10. Brenda

    Pg is Procter & Gamble
    Rp is Red Plum
They are referring to the coupon inserts normally found in Sunday newspapers.
In this case the 9/26 PG has a lady in pink on the front cover and the 10/3 RP has an advertisement for JCPenny Optical on it’s cover. You can find the dates to each insert on the spine, although I have a tough time reading them sometimes because they are sooo tiny!
Also, the other one mentioned frequently is SS. This one stands for Smart Source and is the other coupon insert commonly found in the Sunday newspaper.

  11. Heather

Couponing is very fun but also very frustrating. I work full time & certainly don’t have the time to go to 12 different stores to buy 35 toothpastes/toothbrushes. While I understand it is your right to buy as many as you want, I also find it pretty inconsiderate to those who just want to buy 1 or 2 & can’t because the shelves are wiped clean by Monday afternoon. I like to think maybe you are donating them to the troops or shelters that could certainly use them. I used to get excited to see the great deals available, but very rarely try to get them anymore because it’s not worth the hassle to go all the way to the store to find everything sold out.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

If she wants to buy that many, she can. Be nice.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

No anonymous. Heather is right!!!! I have met people that are just plain greedy and inconsiderate! If you think about it we all have families and we all have needs. I hate driving around different towns to find deals, just beacuse someone cleared the shelves out. Im not only wasting time, but Also gas. So please just get what your family needs. And leave somestuff for others. We are ALL going throught some difficult times. =D

    • Deb

Might I suggest you plan your shopping trips early on Sun. mornings? Less competition and the stock will be there for you to enjoy all the sales at your leisure.
I frequently stop at a RA and CVS on the way to church :0) HTH

  12. Heather

I wasn’t being mean, just truthful. I did say it was her right to buy as many as she wants, but it is frustrating for those of us who can’t take advantage of the deal because there are none left. Just a different way of thinking & it was expressed respectfully…no offense intended at all.

    • Norteasterner

you were respectful. Walgrees in great about rain checks, but you wont get the rewards if they are avail after the sale ends…have not tried Rite Aid with rain checks, but assume the same would apply for the Rewards there if you used the rain check after the sale was over.

      • Jo

I used two rainchecks this week on the Maxwell House instant coffee that was 4.99 with 1 up reward a couple weeks ago. The up rewards won’t print and RA doesn’t provide a way to do so, so what my manager said was they deduct the up reward off the price of the item. For example, the coffee was rung up for $3.99 instead of $4.99 and I just don’t get an up reward. Just make sure they write on the raincheck that it was supposed to print out the up rewards.

    • Renee

You weren’t offensive- just certain people get upset when they get called out for clearing shelves and then you can bet they are the first to complain if someone does it to them!

    • Michelle

I agree with you, very frustrating when someone completely clears the shelf before I can get there for the one or two I want, I also agree that the stores should stock up, it isn’t right.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Dont worry about Heather you are sooooo right. Couponing takes alot of time specially for us that work and have kids. It takes a long time and gas to plan the trips, so its not right to find the shelves empty. Not only that, it gets me mad to see one person walk out the door with 35 items. C’mon. seriously.

  13. Belle

I fault the store if they are not stocked for shoppers. *shrug* They have a big sale on a product that just had coupons in all the major papers, then shame on them for not preparing.
I know CVS has had problems with this. And they even limit the numbers based on your CVS card, but still run out, so I don’t think it is necessarily a few shoppers clearing it out. The stores need to realize that more people are shopping the bargains. Just my take on things.

But on the upside…:) I went into RIte Aid last night to just check stock, I didn’t have my coupons for purchase yet, and there were plenty of items on the shelf.
So it doesn’t seem to be a problem at Rite Aid for the crest toothpaste.

The other option is get a raincheck. This makes it available to you when it is in stock and at the same sale price.

Thanks to you Colin for all the great deals and scenarios you post. It really helps my frazzled brain at the end of the day. 🙂

    • Erica

I know at my rite aid I’ve gone in quite a few times and the workers are shocked at how fast things are flying off the shelf. You would think they would know by now that it would happen but most of the time, each store doesn’t know that the deals are happening until they start.

I think it would be really smart of each company to let the stores know what they should expect to stock up on due to coupons and sales.

  14. Lighthousefam

Thanks for this deal scenario Collin! I really wanted one of these for my little man and this works out great. I’m guessing then that since Vick’s is P&G that you can use this towards the $50 for the new rebate booklet right??

    • Tara S

It might be a better idea to look for a cool mist one for children. that way they wont get burnt accidentally. I know our ped. recommends it.

      • Lighthousefam

Thanks for the tip! Right now he’s only 6 months old, so he won’t be getting burned even accidently

  15. Deb

I did another deal this morn at RA and I can tell you from personal experience seems to be no limit on the Crest tpaste-I have bought 4 now, 2 of the tbrushes with the Flu Q’s and 6 Nivea.
I’m going again at lunch! Great mm’s!

  16. Niki

You are making me to go back to Rite Aid. 🙂 I need that Vaporizer. I just hope they still have 1 left for me.

  17. Stephanie

    Got it today!! Thanks!

  18. Candice

I did this exact transaction a minute ago. I paid $11.68 with tax (I had a few more coupons) received all of the UP and bought the vapor liquid on clearance for $3.49 used $1 off any Vicks and my up from the crest. I paid 5 cents out of pocket because I had a $25 gift card (that I accidentally left behind when my son dumped everything out of my pocketbook)lol they are holding it for me.

  19. Jennifer Kirk

My son has a nasty cough and JUST LAST NIGHT my husband and I were saying that we should get a vaporizer for his bedroom. So imagine my husband’s surprise when I came home from shopping today and told him that I got a vaporizer for FREE! Just like last week when he said he wanted the Iron Man 2 DVD so I went out and got it for practically nothing. He’s definitely seeing the benefits of my coupon obsession!

  20. Deb

Just got back from RA. Did the vaporizer deal. And it worked PERFECT!
My pretax total was .23 cents! I went to a diff store this time, as the mgr. at my usual RA wasn’t too happy this morning when I left his store doing the Crest/Nivea/Schick deal again LOL! His eyes got a bit large as the receipt kept coming and coming and coming. Hehehe.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I also went to RA tonight. I got the vaporizer, mine was $18.99 on sale for $14.24, a schick razor, one toothpaste and three nivea’s. I used the $5 off $25 and the $5 off vicks. I also used a $4 schick and a $2 video values for the razor, with a $1 cpn for the niveas and toothpaste. My total was $11 before tax. I then used up rewards paid $2.21 oop and got back $10.66 in up rewards. This will be great during cold season in the freezing midwest winter. These deals are so great and I love this blog with all the input from everyone. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. Deb

    We are MAGIC!!!!

  22. Jenn Johnson

My RiteAid had the vick’s machines on clearance. Reg. Price $41.99 clearance price was $20.99 used my $5 video reward from October and my $5/off $25 coupon with my nivea products and scored a sweet deal. Got back 2 UP rewards for nivea FREE! and $2 for my Vicks machine WOOT WOOT!!!

    I LOVE HIP2SAVE AND RITEAID 😉

  23. Nicole

Can someone help? I rarely shop at rite aid but some deals look really nice this week.

If the limit is 2, does that mean 2 per transaction (so you would get 2 ups in 1 transaction) or does that mean 2 per card (and then you can never get more than 2 ups for that product that week).

Thanks to anyone that can help. CVS is sooo easy for me to follow their rules and rite aid seems a little more confusing with the ups.

  24. Rhonda

I am so bummed that we don’t have a Rite Aid here!!! I was just talking about getting a vaporizer yesterday b/c our whole family is sick. Any other deals on these elsewhere?

  25. noelle

Ok was it this website that posted this deal:

Buy 9 Nivea chapsticks $2.99 each
    Total: $26.91
Use the $5/$25 coupon found here or here
Use the $1 off Wellness coupon found here (good when you spend $10 or more on beauty items)
Use 4 $2/2 Nivea lip care coupons from the 10/3 RP or found here or here
Plus, use the $1/1 Nivea lip care from the 10/3 RP or from the All You September or October Magazine
    Pay: $11.91
    Get back 9 $1.99 +UP Rewards
Final Cost FREE + $6 moneymaker!

I was just wondering if anyone is having any problems with it. are the 9 $1.99 up rewards all printing out????

    thanks

    • Cindy

Yes, there is no limit on the Nivea rewards.

      • Stacy

Cindy – when there is a limit, is it per transaction or per card? I just started getting into this and I was just wondering. Thanks.

  26. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Just got back from my second trip to Rite Aid this week, got the vaporiser, four Niveas and one Crest all free (+ overage). That makes my total UPRs 9 Crests (with plenty left on the shelf, thank you) and 5 Niveas. I also got 8 Niveas at Walgreens free too (Christmas gift baskets here I come!). Thanks for the heads up!

  27. Mo

Heads up – it looks like the $11.24 price for the vaporizer is not in every region. I am in Northern CO and ours are priced on the shelf at $14.99 and are ringing up at $14.99. You could still get an awesome deal if you purchase one with enough Up Rewards to make back what you’d pay out of pocket though.

    • Nikki

Yeah-I just paid14.99. Just realized it. Can you return items if you used coupons?

  28. tiffany

I was as happy as a clam when I went into my locan RA today and they were fully stocked with the Nivea. It seems either no one is going to RA to get these cause everyones going to Wags this week or maybe they just got another shipment in today. I got 8 on that trip but going back tomorrow to get more. Here’s what I did…
8 Nivea lips, 1 Schick razor, 1 Schick shave gel, 1 Crest w/scope, 2 Ace instant cold packs
    Subtotal= $38.67. Used $2/2 and $1/1 nivea q’s, $4 razor q, $2 razor VVQ, Free shave gel peelie q, $1 crest q, 2 Ace $1.50 ip q’s adjusted down, and $12 in Ups. Paid $.60 oop
    Received 8x$1.99 nivea ups, $2.69 crest ups= $6.01 MM!!!

  29. Nicole D

Thanks Collin! Going to try this later today 🙂

  30. sharon

  32. Suzy

The vaporizer is a great deal. I bought one for future use as a baby shower gift with other necessities that a new mother might not think about. Unfortunately, even the “Gerber baby” gets sick in the middle of the night!

  33. Jessica

Did this deal yesterday in NC and only paid $3.83, used UP Rewards from 10 Bags of Candy deal. Then got over $15 in Up R again! Love it! Plus I bought to extra Nivea Lip Care. My clerk was so nice but they didnt have the toothpaste in singles but they sold me a double pack and cut it open and sold them to me seperate so I could still get my deal! Love them!!!
