Well, I’ve heard from many of you that the magic coupon machine at CVS has printed out a couple of those awesome $0.99 Brach’s Candy Corn coupons over the course of the week. In fact, some of you have reported that this coupon has already printed 3 times for you– which means 3 FREE bags of candy corn!

If you’re looking for a creative idea to make use of all the Candy Corn without well, eating it :D, then check out this email I received from reader, Christi:

I want to send you a picture of what I did with the free candy corn that I got at CVS. I made a wreath out of it and it is very cool, thought your readers might enjoy it. You can find the directions in the October issue of Woman’s Day magazine (or here). I had a lot of fun making this with my kids.

I think this is such a creative idea and what a fun activity to do with the kiddos! Thanks for passing this along, Christi! 🙂

mmmm…I want to bite that wreath! LOL-(haven’t gotten my candy corn fix yet…)

  2. Jennifer G

cute! I’m not a huge fan of candy corn on it’s own, but if you mix it with salted peanuts it makes a little snack mix that tastes like a PayDay candy bar! Yum!!

    • Joy

OMG! I just tried this. So good. Now I have a new weakness. Peanuts and candy corn. 🙂 Good thing there is no CVS near me. LOL.

      • 417bmcatee

My boss makes a trail mix of candy corn, peanuts and bugles. Yum!

    • Cathy

If you melt 16 oz. of candy corn in the microwave and add 16 oz. of peanut butter and press in a lined 9 x 9 pan to harden, cut then dip into melted chocolate, you get homemade butter finger candy bars.

p.s…..for some reason the link to the coupon in this add takes me to a Sears Days coupon:(

    • Collin

Just fixed it… I haven’t had my coffee fix yet! 🙂

      • Jennifer G

        I totally understand! Thanks!

  4. Lana

I am having the same issue with the coupon link.

    • Collin

      Sorry… just fixed it! 🙂

  5. Kristie

I made this a few weeks ago! It was so easy and so cute!!! I sprayed mine with acrylic sealant to keep any bugs off of it.

    • Kristie

Forgot to add that I’m planning on making another for Christmastime with either gumdrops or peppermint candies.

      • Julieanne28

How fun! I had planned on doing a peppermint something? since this week at Publix the penny item was a bag of peppermint candy.

        • Kristie

Shoot, now I’m mad I didn’t go to Publix on Wednesday to get the penny item! Oh well, hope it will be the penny item again before the holidays.

          • Leigh

I used to get the penny item at Publix every week until they switched from Sunday and Monday to Thursday. Also you used to not have to have a coupon but now you do. I only get the Sunday paper and the coupon is in the Thursday paper. Oh, well! Does your Publix require a coupon?

          • Julieanne28

Our penny item is on Wed and our store does not require a coupon.

  6. Mayra Castaneda

that is a great idea because I don’t like candy corn personally I gave away a couple of bags but I still have some so I’ll use it to decorate something.. 😛

  7. Julieanne28

My son and I made the candy corn candle holder, a candy corn & leaf tree and a spooky tree from the All You & Woman’s Day mags. So much fun !

  8. Melissa D. H.

I made the same thing, that I saw in a free issue of Woman’s Day. I found that if you spray them with a high gloss, clear spray paint they look really nice! I have made 3 so far, one for me, one for my step mom and one for my mother in law. They both love them.

  9. Alicia

something I love to do with Candy Corn is mix it with peanuts and put it in mason jars and give to my neighbors as halloween treats. when you eat a handful of the two mixed together, it taste almost just like a snickers bar.

  10. Whitney

I am planning to make that this weekend. Love it!!

  11. Karin

This is so awesome idea!! I have Woman’s Day mag on hand but never thought to make this wreath, but I think I love to make it now. And I never be able to finish all the candy corn every year, so this is a great idea for me to save some wasted candy corn. Thanks for sharing the picture, Christi! 🙂

  12. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

very cute but i think im gonna eat mine!!!

  13. Liz

My CVS is all out of candy corn 🙁 It was all gone before I could get there.

    • Mari

Same here, went to 2 different ones (both on my way), both out, and since its seasonal couldn’t tell me when they would have more… oh well!

      • Tomoko

I just came back from 2 CVS and both are out of candy corn.My coupon expires today 🙁

  14. fran

    How cute is that!!!

  15. Erin

Too funny–this is exactly what I’m using my candy corn for. Can’t stand the stuff, but two cents tax is worth it for a fun kiddie craft.

  16. Rebecca

Looks awesome!!!!!!!! Would be great as a table-top centerpiece too – just stick a pillar candle in the center and Voila! Love it!!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Love the turkey cookies 🙂

  17. Jammie

My daughter and I also made this. We had soo much fun with it.

  18. DEBBIE

My daughter and I made this wreath also.
I am planning a Xmas one already.

  19. hsvmom3

I agree that this is a great coupon, unfortunately, my stores here in Huntsville, AL have been out since Sunday and since the coupons are only good for one day, waiting for the truck to come in is not an option. I wish if they are going to run items in ad and give coupons they would at least make sure the stores are amply stocked.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Which store do you go to? I’ll make sure to remember they are out of candy corns. Glad to know there is a neighbor close by shopping like me.

  20. Tara

It is cute, but I really think I couldn’t make one. I would be so busy eating them, I am not sure I would have some left for the wreath.

  21. vicki

I made the candy corn tree that was in Woman’s Day mag. I used a low temp glue gun and a few days later the candy started to get sticky and fell off. Just like a real tree!

  22. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My daughter watched a TV show this week called Spookly the Square Pumpkin. In it they have a candy corn crown. She asked me to make her one. So that is our goal for this weekend. I haven’t been able to find one online to follow so it should be a fun learning experiment.

  23. Jenn B.

wow how festive, does it attract bugs or anything?

  24. Heather T

I filled a square glass low-cut vase with candy corn and added silk flowers in fall colors for a center piece arrangement. Also do this at Easter with jelly beans and spring flowers. 🙂

  25. DP

What is that white ball in the middle?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I don’t think it’s a ball it looks like the glare from the flash. 🙂

  26. Lisa

thats so pretty, i got a free bag today, sorry i am eating it now I love, love candy corn.

  27. mamabear

I told my hubby to NEVER bring that cursed candy corn in the house again!! If he must have some to keep it locked in his truck. That is the only sweet treat I can’t resist!!! There can be chocolate, cookies, pies, cake whatever in the house and I won’t touch it- but if there is a bag in the house it will be gone by the end of the day!! OH – I am so sick at myself! I ate 2 bags in 2 days!!!!! He just laughs at me and I want to cry!! Oh U blasted candy corn- u have my heart!!!! It would never have reached wreath stage here….

    • Jenn

Haha! I completely understand! The wreath is cute, but . . . candy corn will never last long enough in my house!!

  28. fran

One year for Christmas, my girlfriend gave me a wreath with wrapped caramel creams all around it. When you want to eat one, you just slip it out of the wrapper, and leave the wrapper attached. I believe they were attached by string. This will be expensive to make, unless you get a good deal on the candy.
Here’s a pic of it (you can change that bow), third row down:

    • Julieanne28

If you have a Publix near they are b1g1 free this week.

      • Julieanne28

oops not the cream filled just the regular square kraft caramels like for caramel apples

  29. Qpon Saving Mommas

Very Cute! I plan on using my candy corn to fill glass vases and jars as part of my decorations.

  30. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

i was gonna get the candy corn but i can’t eat gelatin 🙁

  31. Denise

I am not a wreath-type person at all, but I LOVE this.

  32. Tallymomma

I went today and another candy corn coupon spit out and I still had my last one. My CVS has been out of candy corn for awhile and they told me today they won’t be getting any more in being it is so close to Halloween. I have to add though that the lady was super nice and gave us the option of getting the CVS $.99 candy corn bag or another $.99 CVS candy bag. My 3 yr old picked out the smarties for potty training and the lady put the coupons through for us.

  33. AC

How do you keep the ants away? We have so many ants lately from the heat outside. Thanks ladies!

  34. hsvmom3

I know neither the one at Carl T. Jones or the one on Whitesburg had them unless they came in today. We can only hope!

  35. sg

Mix candy corn with cocktail peanuts equal parts. YUMMY! Taste like a payday!

  36. Heather

ohhh my heart breaks… what a perfect waste of wonderful delicious candy corn… you fool! 😉 I kid… you are not a fool, but it is a waste!!!!

  37. mary

Every CVS in my area was sold out! I would rather enjoy eatting mine then to attract ants!!!

  38. Jessica

We loved this idea and decided to make it as well after seeing it in Woman’s Day magazine. Very easy to make…. doesn’t matter is you accidently make a mistake either.
