    Dang I love this site!

  • Carolyn says:

Yay, I need stuff to use all my extra ECB’s on. :) For rainchecks, though, does it matter which store I got them at in terms of what store I redeem them? I guess what I’m asking is if I got a raincheck at CVS store A, can I redeem it at CVS store B? I’ve just never tried before. :)

  • tosha says:

for the suave coupon is it for $0.75/1 or $0.50/1. I bought 4 News and Observers that week and all my coupons are for $0.50/1. Which is still a great deal at $0.39 each!!!!

Thanks for all you do to help us save in this economy!!!!! Be Bless!!!!!

  • Therese says:

Does anyone know if it’s ok to print online coupons in black and white? Do the stores except them like that? All of the internet coupons really eat up the expensive color ink.

    • melissa says:

i print them in black and white and choose “draft” in your printer properties and it’s like half the ink. I’ve never had a problem with stores accepting them.

    • Julie says:

Yes you can!!! I print mine in black and white and have done for years. The stores have never said anything about it:)

    • Allison says:

I haven’t had a color cartridge in my printer in a year and have had NO problems!

    • Brianna says:

I do the same thing. I click on “Economical” and also change the ink to B&W.

    • Alicia says:

It’s the only way I have ever printed them, I have a laser printer I can’t print in color. No one has ever said anything. Though I have to admit I was a little nervous about it at first, too!

      • Therese says:

Thank you all VERY much! :D

      • fran says:

You know, I have my printer set to black ink only and grayscale, and it still prints in color.
When my computer was under warranty, I called HP and they didn’t know what to do. They told me that maybe, where I was printing the coupon from, wouldn’t allow me to print in black ink only. Have you ever heard of such a thing?

        • Allison says:

I have the same problem, even though it’s set to grayscale, it still prints in color. If i’m printing a smartsource coupon it will print in black and white, but if it’s like a bricks coupon it’ll print in color. I don’t know how to change it either.

          • Lauren G. says:

I have the same problem. Do you have an epson printer like me? I wonder if it is the brand of printer or just the coupon site.

          • Shirley says:

Same problem when I print from my new computer (Window Vista) but will print B&W just fine from my old computer (Window XP). I use Epson printer also. Wish I knew how to fix it.

          • maria says:

I had that same problem.. only printing from coupons.com (or bricks style coupons). It lasted for well over 2 months, then just recently I was prompted when I logged on to “upgrade” and now the printing is back to B&W, I know not much to help but just wanted to let you know it does go away. There are a lot of others with the same problem, I googled several blogs about it.

        • Denise says:

          Fran, Allison, Laurine, Shirley,
I have a HP Photosmart and I had problems trying to print b/w, the bricks q’s would always print in color, I tried everything but nothing seemed to work, so I simply took out the color cartridge and now it prints b/w.

          • fran says:

Denise, I will try that, but I heard the printer will not print without both cartridges, or even if one cartridge is empty. As a matter of fact, I recently wasn’t able to print anything because I needed black ink. I didn’t think it was the ink cartridge even though the light was on because I can usually print many more prints after the light comes on. I think it must be because I had XL cartridge in the printer, and it must really be out of ink when the light comes on.

            Lauren, my printer is HP.

          • Jill Strauss says:

maria denise and others. i had the same problem with my hp printer i did fix it. there are two places you have to set the printer properties for the bricks coupons to print out in black in white. go to start then printers then when you see the icon for your printer right click on that. click on printer properties, then advanced, then printer defaults, then click all the options you want for black fast draft and then ok or save. the printer prints out the bricks coupons under this setting and your documents and other pdf coupons under the printing preferences setting. let me know if this works for you.

        • anna says:

I ALSO HAVE AN HP PRINTER AND I HAVE MINES SET ON GRAY SCALE AND MY COUPONS PRINTS WITHOUTCOLOR.

    • Stephany says:

I’ve taken BOTH a color and B&W coupon before (my husband’s printer is automatically in B&W and mine is in color) – and have only had one person question it. But he did find the “secret code” and took them both. When I have several like that I try to give either all color or all B&W. Not a huge deal though.

      • Melissa says:

I have an Epson and if it was a PDF type coupon or such, I could change to print in Greyscale (and draft if needed), but for coupons.com or bricks coupons would still print in color. I figured out you need to change the printer setting properties from the windows menu. So when you go to Devices and click on your printer, a new box will open, then click on Adjust Options, then the Advanced Tab to change the setting to greyscale (or b/w). Ever since I’ve done that, all my coupons have printed in b/w.

        • fran says:

Jill, thank you soooo much, that worked! You are a doll! All this time, and I can finally print in black ink only :D

Melissa, thank you for your help too.

It warms my heart that so many hipsters are willing to help out each other. I think Collin is a reflection of this.Thank you, Collin, for all that you do, and for so many amazing hipsters :D

    • Amy says:

I don’t even own a color printer and they’ve never said a word at any store :)

  • Therese says:

Does anyone know if it’s ok to print online coupons in black and white? Will the stores take them without problems? They really eat up the color ink.

    • Therese says:

      Sorry for the double post….

    • Kellee Hatch says:

I used to print mine using draft mode to save ink, but most of the time they wouldn’t scan, so some cashiers wouldn’t take them. Too much of a hassle so I just use regular printing settings. I have to buy ink about every 4-5 months, so not a huge deal.

  • Lorine Edwards says:

Glad I have some things to use my $49 ecb’s on !!

    • Elle says:

quick question I don’t shop CVS very much, but when you earn a ecb it puts it on the card that they scan at the beginning of checkout correct? When they scan it at the first of a transaction does it tell the register how much you have in ecb’s and use that up before asking you for out of pocket? Or do you have to tell them when you want to use it?

      • Amy L says:

you have to hand the ECB to them when you want to use it and it has to match the card you earned it on and scanned at purchase time.

      • Jen says:

ECB are not stored on the card. They are printed at the bottom of your receipt. You have to tear those off and hand them over when you are ready to use them, like you would with other coupons.

  • Lorine Edwards says:

oh and can you use the manufacturer coupon with target logo at CVS? I’ve never tried..just don’t want to print a coupon and then not be able to use it..I never have problems at CVS..it’s usually wags that gives me a hard time about everything.

    • KatieBee says:

As long as the coupon clearly states Manufacturer’s Coupon at the top (as opposed to Target Coupon), any retailer that carries the product is supposed to take it, even if another retailer’s logo or “can be redeemed at” wording is listed on it. All the CVS stores around me have taken them with no problem; they scan just fine.

    • Amanda says:

I tried this @ my CVS and the manager would NOT accept a q with another stores logo on it ….. even when it stated that it was a man. q and the barcode started with a 5. Good Luck, it never hurts to try!

  • N says:

Am I missing something… how does the Prilosec end up being $1 each? Thank you Collin for everything you do!

  • Lindsay says:

Here is a $1/2 Nestle Bags or Wonka Bags Printable coupon at http://www.nestlefamily.com/coupons/exclusiveoffers/Default.aspx?step=SelectCoupons

  • Melissa says:

Have any of you ever tried to return something at CVS that costs more than the total you paid? Tonight I purchased some Starbucks instant coffee sticks that I *thought* were on sale for $3.99, along with a few other things. My total oop was $6.XX after coupons and ecb’s, which I thought was high & I knew my math couldn’t be *that* off! I went ahead and paid and then checked my receipt….the coffee sticks were $9.XX! Turns out they were only on sale Sun-Weds this week due to the BF Thurs-Sat sale. So I went back in and tried to return them (I’m NOT paying almost $10 for instant coffee!). The less-than-thrilled cashier tried a few times to process the return with no success. He said he had no idea how to do it since the item I was returning costs more than my total. He said it wasn’t letting him refund more than I paid to begin with, the max he could refund was the $6.XX I paid, and told me to come back on Monday so a manager could do it. Anyone have this issue before? Were you able to make the return? Just not sure how they handle these sort of scenerios when our ecb’s and coupons take our total so low but then we need to return something. ???

    • Emily says:

NO, at every single store i ever go to to return items, they always give me back my total BEFORE coupons. But they do need manager approval at most stores, maybe that was why.

    • Lolo says:

yes you can return them for the fullo price, however I have found at CVS if your total back is more than the amount you paid out, then they can only return the amount to a giftcard. If you are OK with that then go back again and tell them that is what you want to do. They are getting reimbursed for the coupons and can not double dip by redeeming a coupon for a product and then getting back the item to sell again. HTH

    • I have returned pampers (wrong size) My total was 1.72 because I used ecbs to pay for them and they would not let me swap sizes so they game me back 1.72 in cash and the rest on a cvs money card.

      • KP says:

That happened to me yesterday – I bought the wrong Herbal Essences for the ECB deal and looked at my reciept when I got in my car. My cashier was very nice and returned the shampoo and put then money on a gift card, then rang up the correct one and just used the gift card to pay for it.

    • Melissa says:

Yes, a manager is needed b/c the rest of the refund will be given to you on a CVS Gift Card.
Or you could have asked to do a return w/o receipt then let him have your original to attach to the slip you sign (if you didn’t need it anymore)

    • Linda Phelps says:

If I’ve used a coupon and they don’t want to give me the full price I tell them that would be fine if they give me back my coupon. :-) Of course, I say it VERY SWEETLY and, if necessary, explain that they will be reimbursed for the coupon. With ECB it makes sense to get it on a GC.

      • melissinglink says:

Totally agree… tell them you want your coupon if they only want to give you what you paid after the coupons were deducted.

    • anna says:

THEY CAN GIVE YOU BACK THE CASH YOU’D PAID MINUS THE TAX AND GIVE YOU A GIFT CARD FOR THE REST OR GIVE YOU A GIFT CARD FOR THE TOTA LAMOUNT OF YOUR RETURN WHEN THEY DO THE RETURN THEY HAVE TO DO IT WITHOUT A RECIEPT.IF YOU SHOP AT CVS ALL THE TIME TAKE THE GIFT CARD,YOU CAN USE IT ON YOUR PURCHASES.

  • Emily says:

    wow! this is amazing!

  • allie says:

Collin, Maybe you already posted something about this, but I was in CVS today and they had a Christmas booklet at the checkout. Inside, it has a $4.00 off any $20 purchase. They will probably go fast and they have lots of Christmas presents pictured inside. Anyway, shoppers should take advantage.

  • allie says:

Hey Collin, There is a free CVS gift guide at checkouts. It has a $4 off $20 purchase in it. Probably won’t last long!

  • Lolo says:

Just FYI if anyone is interested on doing the blink tears and you have Rite Aid nearby, they have $4 peelies on them at Rite Aid. HTH

  • lightheart7200 says:

I got the gift guide and the coupon says “Present this voucher with your purchase. Spend $20 Get $4 Extra Bucks.” So it’s not the same as a $ off of $$ coupon. Also, it says “Voucher expires 11/28/10. Geez!

How does the Dove bar coupon work? Do you get one more bar if using a coupon for buy 2 get one free with the buy 2 get one free deal?

    • MommySpendsLess says:

You should be able to just buy three bars. Two will ring up at full price, say $1.50 each. The third one rings up for $0.00. Your current total is $3.00. When prompted, the cashier should enter $1.50 for the coupon value. You end up paying just $1.50 for three bars.

I find it easiest to view the BXG1Free coupons as being worth the value of the item, as long as X number of items cross the scanner. However, a lot of cashiers get confused with regular BOGO coupons/BOGO sale so I don’t know if I’m even going to try the B2G1/B2G1 scenario.

I can’t seem to find that Target Revlon beauty tools coupon… have they taken it off?

  • Tessa says:

For the deal with Benefiber and Gas-X…does it matter that after coupons it does not add up to over $20?? I noticed that you get $10 ECBs for $20 purchased. Just want to make sure before I get to the register…

    • nika says:

      no.
the ECB is automatically triggered when the items are scanned.
it will print at the end even after qs.
also, the q machine/price scanner is printing a $10 off $50. so i combined it with items listed.

I found a $2 off Complete Multi-Purpose Solution Coupon at ww.completecomfort.ca/certificate.php. I had to provide my name and email, but it makes this a $2 MM!!!

  • Amy says:

I don’t know if the whole address copied so I will put it again for the $2 Q to Complete.

The $2 off Complete Multi-Purpose Solution Coupon did not scan for me because it is a Canadian coupon. See how it is in metric instead of whatever we use? I tried it several times and no one accepted it.

Question for the CVS Pantene sale:

Pantene $3.33 I can use my b1g1 free coupon from 11/28 PG but can I also use a MQ of $2.00 off any two pantene? I get so confused on these b1g1 and how you can use coupons! Thanks for any assistance :)

    • Collin says:

      Hi Toni,

You will not be able to use both coupons… you’ll have to choose one or the other. I would choose the B1G1 coupon since you’ll get more deducted than with the money off coupon. I hope this helps! :)

      • Toni says:

VERY helpful!! I will def. use the b1g1 since it’s only $3.33 :) I appreciate you helping me out with this and every week with all the cash I save!

Thanks for the scenario on the pampers diapers and dish soap! I inserted a $3.00 and $1.75 off pampers to bring my total for 2 packs of diapers & 3 dish soaps down to $9.67!!

  • Kandy Duncan says:

How do I prove to the cashier that even though it has a target logo it still says manufacture and I can use it.

    • Collin says:

I just try to explain that the coupon is in fact a manufacturer’s coupon and NOT a store coupon. I also mention that the store will get reimbursed the full value of the coupon + a handling fee. Also, I’m not quite sure what Target manufacturer coupon you’re talking about, but you may be able to print it here:
      http://www.couponnetwork.com/
This site has almost all of the same manufacturer’s coupons the Target site has– just without the Target logo! :)

I just did the P&G deal and got the $5 ECB and a coupon for 25% off a purchase between now and December 1st! Gotta go look at the ad and see what I can score with my 25% off now. That was a pleasant surprise.

    • Melissa says:

the 25% off is for non-sale items, which to me is pretty useless since I hardly buy anything regular priced at CVS (unless its milk from time to time)

      • jen says:

I just read the fine print and you’re right it does say not applicable to sale items so I’ll have to see if there are any non sale items that make the 25% off worth purchasing. Thanks for the heads up!

Don’t forge that Pantene Pro V shampoo and conditioners are on sale @ CVS right now. 3.33 for each. Buy 3 shampoo and 3 conditioners, use 3 B1G1 free from 11/28 P&G coupons and 1 1.00/off 2 pantene products and you qualify for the $ 5 ECB of $ 20 P&G Products. So after the coupons you pay 9.73. Plus your on your way to the spend 50 and get 20 rebate from P&G.
    :)

  • Jo-Ann says:

You might want to know that there is another option for a Duracell battery deal at Rite Aid, just in case you have both CVS and Rite Aid nearby, and depending upon what store rewards you have. They are sale priced at $7.99 at my store for a 20 pack of AA & AAA (these are mega packs, which usually contain 16 batteries). Use (2) $1.50 coupons, then there is a $5 SCR. Roughly that’s ($8 x 2) – $3 coupons – $5 SCR = $8 for 40 batteries (not including sales tax). You can then also register your receipt for the Holiday Gift of Savings Program.

I did the oral-b rechargeable toothbrush for 69.99 w/$10 off coupon PLUS oral b is offering a 50% off rebate on specially marked toothbrushes and mine was one of those! So by the time I’ll get my rebate I’ll have spent $30 out of pocket but I got $20 ecb! Woohoo! Plus I did a deal with make-up, olay, & secret, got that for free after ecb and there is a rebate program spend $50 (before coupons) on select items get $20 back (musthaveits.com). So I made money!

  • Leslie says:

I just got a prescription filled at CVS and with the coupons at the bottom of the receipt was a 3 day coupon for 25% off a total order. It also gave me $4 off a Revlon product and $4 off pullups. Should be able to pair this with some of these great deals! Thanks for all you do Collin!

    • Kate says:

Wow! You can make that into a big MM with the ‘Get $5 ECB back when you buy 2 Revlon Beauty items’ deal.

I bought 2 Revlon Nail Clippers @ 2.99 each today and used 2 of the IP’s from Target’s site and it worked out just fine.
No beeps and I received the $5ECB (and a $1ECB from Green Tag!)
      My OOP was $0.17 (NY)

    Hey everyone!
I know that a lot of people use diaper coupons and I have no need for them. I’d rather give them to someone who really needs them, then let them expire. I get about 4 papers every week. So if you are interested in me mailing them to you, e-mail me at Sierra_Cutchin@hotmail.com.
