Awesome, Thanks! When you go to withdraw any money from your ING accounts, keep in mind it takes 2 full business days to process your request. So if I want to withdraw from my savings and moving to my local banks checking account, funds won’t be available until next Wednesday Monday & Tuesday being the business days.

  • Lilly says:

Does anyone know if I can open more than one (one for each kid) and get $25 for each kid’s account?

    • Heather says:

I was wondering the same thing…

      • LeeAnn says:

Yes, I believe you can. I logged back in and checked both kids accounts I created and each show the $25.00!

        • Lala Chin says:

does not work for new customer in ing. I manage to get just 1 kids in until ing verified your transfer from your bank checking account for $0.60 ;- (

          • Mandy says:

I just called ING Direct because I am new to ING and it would only let me open an accout for the first child. They said I am unable to open other accts at this time because I have not yet “confirmed” my checking account. Once I do this, in a couple of days, I can open accounts for my other three children. They gave me a promotional code to enter, in order to still recieve the $25 in each account. You might want to call for this code too so you don’t miss out! Good luck! :)

        • DP says:

How did you create both accounts? I created one and I just called them because it wouldn’t let me create another. They said the test deposit had to be verified first. 24-48 hours.

    • Lilly says:

Thank you!!! I called like you suggested and they gave me a code to use on my other kids after the promo is over tomorrow. I wonder if one can open an account for a baby that hasnt been born yet… Oh wait, prolly not, no SS

  • Cori says:

Also on the Black Friday deal page is $103 for any new checking account. It’s limited to one per household and only new ING Direct customers.

I did the Black Friday promotion last year and it was a little confusing because there is no promotional code and the account doesn’t mention a sign up bonus, but they did deposit the money after the fifty days.

    • Lala Chin says:

I believe u need to do this to qualify for the $103 cash:

      How it works
Open Electric Orange November 26th – 28th, and make a total of 7 purchases using your Electric Orange Card or Person2Person Payments (or any combination of the two) within 45 days.

For example: If you made 4 Card purchases and 3 Person2Person Payments within 45 days of opening your account, you’d receive the $103 bonus.
Card purchases can be either signature or PIN-based.

Your $103 bonus will be automatically deposited into your account on day 50.
Bonus only available for new Electric Orange checking. Only one bonus will be provided per household.

Oh, and no need to enter a Reference Code or anything when you open your Electric Orange. We’ll take care of everything.

    • cindi says:

that’s what I did. 7 card transactions is not hard! I transfered $103 into the account, and then I’ll use that to make my 7 transactions, and get it all back. Sweet!

    • cindi says:

hmmm…my husband and I both opened one under our permanent adresss, but I just changed my address to our secondary address online. Since the bank hasn’t verified info yet and nothing has been mailed, I’m hoping it will work for both of us still.

  • caroline hesse says:

yes you can do it with multiple kids. The money was available immediately in my daughters account.

    • LeeAnn says:

The money show’s in the account but its not available to withdrawal. Account balance shows $25.00 but the Amount available to withdraw is 0.00. That will change after 30 days.

  • ali s says:

yay, got both my kiddos set up :)

    • Christy D says:

Hi, Im new to ING and it is not letting me set up all of my kids because of not being a “confirmed” account. How were you able to get through that since you were able to set up both of your kids? Thanks

  • Melanie says:

I’m a little leary of submitting my social security number online. Are you sure this is legit?

    • LeeAnn says:

Totally legit. I have had an Ing direct account for about 5 years. LOVE the interest rates, though they aren’t as high as they have been in the past. If you feel unsure, call their customer service number 1-800-ing-direct. They should be able to help you over the phone.

    • Alyssa says:

Totally legit…I’ve been and ING online customer for 5 years now :)

  • Jessica says:

Dumb question….do you enter ADULT or CHILD as primary account holder??

  • Cyndie says:

I just did this and tried to put the .50 initial deposit. It would not let me proceed so I put $1 instead.

  • Natalie Z. says:

I added one of my kids successfully, but when I log into my account to add my other kids, I am not able to. Help?

    • Mandy says:

Mine is the same way. I am curious if I will not be able to set up for the other children until my checking account is confirmed. Does anyone know???

      • Mandy says:

I just responded to someone else above, because I had this problem too. Call them for a promotional code to enter once your acct has been verified in a couple of days. This code will still allow you to get the money for your other children. :)

  • Jill P says:

Same here.. account not confirmed yet so no $25 even showing as pending.

  • Natalie Z. says:

ING is also offering $2000 of a mortgage closing/refinance as part of the BF deals….Their fees are by far the cheapest. U would walk away without paying anything. However ur credit score has to be i believe at least 660 or 680.

    • Jill P says:

I saw that deal and thought man wish it was around two months ago when i started my refi process (close on monday). my Credit union was much cheaper than my bank so that is still a nice “perk”

  • Heather says:

Worked flawlessly for all three kids! We’ve been ING members for a few years now, and already had regular savings accounts set up for them. However, since they weren’t “kids” accounts and the kids names weren’t on the accounts, I just went through the link 3 times and set up new accounts for each of them, naming them as secondary account holders, and transferred their savings from their old accounts! The $25 already shows there and will be available in 30 days! Couldn’t have been quicker!

    Thanks, Collin!

  • Karen says:

I just did this last night, once of each of my kids. We’ve been wanting to open accounts for them and already have an ING account for ourselves. I like that I can add one for each of them and keep their money separate.

  • Alicia says:

I called and they also gave me the promo code to use since I will not be able to confirm the small deposits before this promotion ends. Signed up for my own new checking account and a savings account for each of my kids!

  • Nean says:

I have been an ING customer for a couple years and just set up my daughter with the savings account. I don’t see any $25 deposit. Is that because I am an existing customer and needed to set her up as a completely new customer not attached to me?

  • Jessica says:

I have 2 daughters. I opened an account for one daughter with no problem. I tried to open the account for my other daughter and they would not let me because it was not a confirmed account. I called the customer service number and they said that I would just have to wait for another promotion in order to open an account for my other daughter! I even asked specifically for a coupon code so I could still take advantage of this special once my account was confirmed and he said that he did not have a code and that they only “encourage” one account per household for each promotion they run. I think that is kind of lame since I read on here that someone received a code and I think the details of the promotion say that it is ok as long as each child is a new customer.

    • Lala Chin says:

You mostly got the bad rep grinch instead. ;- )
Try again and hopefully u get a nicer rep.
I got mine and i ask for a promo code directly and he gave me. But the promo code will expire on 15 Dec.

      • lifeinmommyland says:

That is what I thought too! He was super nice and friendly, but not willing to help much… I would think they would rather give me the code now to ensure that I do get an account for my younger daughter rather than just say “try next time” and risk losing my business!

  • Jill P says:

Seems I can’t open an electric orange account for myself to get teh $103 because my linked accoutn isn’t “confirmed” but i’ve yet to get a deposit from them to confirm it.. so we’llsee just hoping I can get DS’s account to pan out.

  • Ann says:

i have tried to do the other kids and i cant because i am a new customer and they have to verify the bank account w/in 2 days so thats after the special web deal.. I have called and they said they couldnt do anything about it. So bummer!! I wanted to do all 4 kids but i cant now!

  • Ann says:

after waiting for a few minutes, she did come back with reference code to put in when i can verify my account this week. She said it will work on all my kids and it will deposit the $25…Here’s hoping!

  • Kim says:

Make sure you ‘refer’ your kids so you get the $30 referral and they get $25. I did this last year. My older son ‘referred’ my youngest when he was born and we were $55 richer!! :) You can do this with your account too, if your other kids don’t already have one.

  • jen says:

Thank you! Customer service was very nice was able to get promo code for the rest of the children

  • Lynn B says:

I don’t show $25.00 as pending or anything either???

  • Ann says:

The refer a friend seems to only work if you already have a checking account. Not just savings!

  • Ann says:

Does anyone know where to enter the promotion code when we do the other kids? Will there be a box on one of pages?

  • LeaH says:

I am a new ING costumer, so after reading everyones replies I did one kids account in my name and my other kids account in my husbands name and it worked great

  • kelli says:

to do both of my kids I just use me with one child and my husband for the other child, I did call them a head of time to see if I could do both under me, and he said yes but when I was typing I though why screw it all up and used each of us .

  • TRACY J says:

i have 4 children , did 1 in my name ,1 under my husband and i called and they gave me a code to enter after i verify the checking accts to enter on my other 2 so i can get them the $25 bonus.

  • ellen says:

We’ve been ING customers since last year when they did a promotion for $50 when you opened a checking account, I think…they are a great company to deal with! I was so excited to see this promo, because I have 4 kids, and have always wanted to start savings accounts for them, but just never did it..now they each have an account, plus some seed money to help it grow! Probably will do better than their piggy banks, which are just TOO accessible..;) Plus, I love the fact that all I have to do to deposit money is use my checking account..btw, the 2 business day thing is kind of a drag, but if you have a debit card through them, you can always withdraw it at an ATM if you really need to..

I signed one of my kids up under my name and the other under my husband. It worked!

  • Kim says:

I was already an existing customer, and was able to add all the three kids no problem :) Thanks for sharing!

  • Lindsey says:

I’ve read through the posts, and I dont think this has been addressed- can I do both an account for myself, and one for my son? (so I can get the $103 for me and $25 for him ?!) :)

    • Lala Chin says:

Yes u can but u need to call the rep to ask them to give u a separate promo code one for u and the other for your son.
I did mine separately by calling twice since i wasn’t sure they will grant it to u.
It work for me by calling twice. ;- )
Hope this helps u as well

  • Kristen M. says:

Awesome! I just signed one boy up under me and the other under my husband! thanks!!!

  • Hopegirl66 says:

This is awesome!! I wanted to open accounts for my two older sons too, but they are 20 (just turned) and 18. But I was able to open one up for my 14 year old. :)

    Thanks Colin!!!!

  • Nicole McGee says:

This is awesome, thanks! My little boy is just turning 1 and I have been meaning to start him a savings account, this was perfect!

I HEART ING BIG TIME! We opened the accounts last year for the 50 dollar promo and dd our 3 kids this year!!!!

  • stephanie putnam says:

If it is in savings how do you withdraw it after 30 days? I’ve never heard of the bank before.

  • Sara says:

  • CORRINE says:

I just signed up and it said I have 2 make a $25 deposit to get the $25 bonus and I don’t get the bonus for 4-6 weeks….What did I do wrong??

  • maria says:

I was curious how do we actually do the withdraw? i havent seen one of these banks ever- I was able to set up one for one son,,, and called to get another one (code) for another son- Now im just wondering how to get the 50 bucks out?

    • Amy says:

You just transfer it back to the bank account that you linked to it for the initial deposit. It takes two days to transfer but is very easy.

  • Kim says:

I just tried to set up an account and a page popped up “Sale’s Over”.

  • KathyB says:

I set up a Saving’s Account for my son last night, but wasn’t able to confirm the deposits from my checking account until today. After all the confirmations, the $25 bonus wasn’t in the account. I called CS and was told she would make a note and was instructed to call back in 30 days to have the bonus manually put in. After reading various posts that other had their bonus immediately put in either automatically or manually, I’m following up with a letter asking why I’m being required to wait 30 days in addition to having to call back. I had ING for my 401K plan at one time and they were ok, but I’m not loving them with this promotion,

    • Alissa says:

I had to call today and get the $25 manually posted b/c it wasnt there when I verified my account. No 30-day wait period. I’d call back and see if you get a more understanding CS rep.

  • Tracy Harper says:

I just verified my account since the 2 small ING deposits posted today. But, the $25 is not showing up. This is crazy that some people are having so many issues, while others aren’t. It’s too late to call CS, so I’ll tackle this tomorrow.
