As most of you know, Walgreens released a corporate coupon policy a couple months ago… finally! You can view the policy here. Be sure to print a copy and bring it with you when you shop in case any issues should arise. You can also now print Walgreens Instant Value Coupons online here. *NOTE: If you can find the monthly coupon booklet in-store, save your printer ink. (Thanks, Rose Knows Coupons!)

Emily says:
Woo Hoo! so much free stuff! This week is awesome, looks like i’m gonna have a good place to roll my RR’s! Thanks a million Collin!!!
Collin says:
You’re very welcome and I do apologize for posting the deals so late. I just got back home from visiting family in Idaho, so I am trying to play catch up. Stay tuned for the CVS and Rite Aid deals shortly!
Emily says:
Emily says:
No problem, your matchups are amazing!
Fabi says:
Thanks Collin!
I am so grateful for you. You help us make so much out of every dollar. Thank you. I can’t thank you enough. You’ve changed my life.
Lindsay says:
You are truly awesome! You do all of this work finding and posting deals all while raising kids. I know that I couldn’t save as much money as I do without your website. I have 4 kids myself and I can’t imagine doing all that you do. Thank you so much for helping me to make our money stretch!!
tammy says:
Does anyone have any info on the BIC lighters? I just visited my Walgreens and they are 4.99 – 1 q from booklet = 3.99. I heard a rumor that a 4 day sale starts tomorrow.
Tricia says:
There are some great items this week for me to use the $25 in “jingle bucks” from the last few days. Thank you Collin for EVERYTHING you do and all of the money you save us each week! I know I speak for all the readers when I say you are truly appreciated.
Tricia says:
oops….There not Tthere. I’m going to bed.
Collin says:
Thanks, Tricia!!
Selene says:
Hi! Question: For the Neoteric Cream Healing 4 oz $7.99 mail-in rebate deal, if I used an RR to buy it, say, if I used a $5 RR and only paid $2.99 + tax, will I still get the full $7.99 rebate check?
Thanks!!! I really need to find creative ways to used up the $60+ RRs I collected in the last 3 days.
diana says:
For future planning, I always buy my stuff in batches of about 15 dollars (i have them well planned out before getting to the registrar) and then use the RR from batch 1 on batch 2, etc. My first batch has the most expensive items or items with coupons, then I can usually come out OK. I did 5 batches on Friday afternoon and ended up with 10 out of pocket and 5 in RR
I also check out in cosmetics-they are usually much nicer there
Erin says:
I’m right there w/u! I did 7 transactions Fri. spent <$6 and came out w/$9.50 in RR got my bathroom pretty well stocked too
Lilly says:
Not all stores allow this. Mine does not allow you to use the RR (jingle bucks) in the same visit where you earned them. You have to leave and come back again a while later (when I asked they suggested I wait an hour if I want to come back and use them the same day). RR expire faster than ECBs too… if my store allowed what your store does I would shop at Wags more often!
Laura says:
Weird….I have been to lots of different wags and never had a problem rolling my RR’s in the same trip on different transactions. I have had alot of cashiers/people roll their eyes but I just try to look at that like “they are jealous I am saving so much money” lol
Rachel Durfee says:
It is definitely a store thing. None of them in utah do that. The manager at wags the other night was excited to see my stack of coupons. I was thrilled!!! He said to come back anytime! No more riteaid for me where they grumble about coupons etc. Bonus some of the employees r couponers and they understand. Try a different wags if they are both a pain just hope for a great riteaid I guess. I did 50 transactions this weekend and had no problems. I did it in four trips.
Lolo says:
That sucks for you… my wags manager encouraged me to do as many transactions as I wanted. LOL she must have told me that at least 5 or 6 times when she would pass me the other day. She knows it is a sale for her store and she is happy for the business. She does not care how I pay or if I just got that RR and turned around and used on the very next transaction. Even one of the cashiers whom I turned onto shopping with RR sat in front of me and did several transactions that way before he went home for the day. I LOVE my WAGS! They are so awesome!!! (2 of them at least)
Steph says:
Did anyone actually answer Selene’s question? I’m curious too! Thanks!
Terrie says:
Selene-I don’t know for sure about this product or manufacturer, but can tell you I have used RR and ECB before to help pay for products and still have received back the full rebate without any problems! Hope this helps-Go for it!!
MA says:
That should not affect your rebate because you had to have the full means to pay for it, (you used RR and cash). Just circle the retail price, date purchased, store name, whatever they ask for on the rebate; and ignore that you received it with RR. Just my .02 worth.
Renee B says:
I received a SalonPas sample in the mail recently and it included a $1.00 coupon so this will not only be free but a money maker if you have it!
Lisa Dawson says:
#3 Vicks scenario:
You can also do the Puffs deal with the Vicks Cough drops. 2 Cough drops AND the Puffs free after $1.50 off 1 Vicks product and free Puffs coupon. I stocked up last year when this deal was around.
I loooooooooooooove the Puffs with Vicks in them.
Rachel Durfee says:
how much r the cough drops and do u have a coupon to use on them?
Kahra says:
I did this last year, too. You can use the $1.50 off any Vick’s product coupon. The cough drops are about $.99 each, and at my WAGS, they were by the registers, with the gum. I stocked up on Puff’s, and I agree, the ones with Vick’s are the best when you’re stuffy!
Lorine Edwards says:
Thanks Renee! I got the sample too, so I must have that coupon somewhere!
Jennifer says:
Awesome as always Collin! I am going to put together a gift basket with all those Olay freebies! Thank you!
louisa says:
If it’s bogo (like the lysol), can we use 1 MQ for each item? or since the other is free, we can only use 1 MQ?
Brianna says:
You CAN use 2 MQ’s, however, the ones Collin has posted are $1/2 so in this case you can only use that one MQ on the B1G1. If you have 2 $1/1 MQ’s, then you may use those. Some stores have issues with this but the new Walgreens Coupon Policy clearly states you may do this. HTH
Michelle says:
I am excited about the Olay rebate offer, I had enough stuff I bought last week, when combined with this week. I can get the rebate offer for myself, and one for my mother. That will make her day when she received a check in the mail in a few weeks. She spent 2 hours today helping me buy things at 3 different stores. We are using the free things in baskets for her to give to people for christmas. She lives on a very small income from her Social security, and this will enable her to give great presents to all her grandchildren. Thank you colin for having this site which is helping me provide great things for my mother to give for christmas. I could not afford to help her without all you do.
Brianna says:
I think the Ritter chocolate at $1 each is an awesome price!!!
Brianna says:
I have the $8/1 Dulcolax coupon. Which do I hand over first, the MQ or the December Wags coupon?
Amanda H. says:
Brianna, This is the order for wags : 1) RR (if you have)
2) Manufacturer coupon
3) store coupon
Walgreens computers are so finicky! Ugh!!
Hope that helps
farmvet says:
Why RR first? I always use them at the end so my total doesn’t go negative.
Rachel Durfee says:
I never ever do that. I use the man coupons first. IF u did rr first u could run into issues of paying to much and how do u know how much to pay in rr with doing the man coupons first. In the last few days I did 50 transactionat walgreens and had no problems.
MA says:
My understanding is Manufacturer Q 1st
Wags In Ad Next
RR Last, Just Before Paying
Please someone correct me if I am wrong.
Some cashiers want them all at once and they will do them in the order they choose, however, but this is the preferred order.
Anonymous says:
Yep- I ALWAYS do Manu Q first, in/ad or store coupons, and LAST RR
Nicole says:
You are right!
mindy says:
me too- RR last
Angelia says:
I found a coupon attached to the Dulcolax for $2 off water. No size restrictions. I found a case of water on sale for $2.24 so I got a free Dulcolax and a case of water for $0.24 plus tax. So keep your eyes open.
Palmer Watson says:
Someone posted “somewhere” (I can’t remember where) that they do the MQ’s last because the MQ’s will apply to tax but RR, +UPS, and ECB’s will not apply to tax. I have not been brave enough to test this out yet. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it true?
I did go to Walgreen’s today and purchased the Natrol melatonin. I had my $3/1 coupon. The cashier scanned the product and the total was $3.19. I gave her my $3/1 coupon and the total was $0, so the tax was not charged!!!!!!! Then I received my $3 RR, yipee! So, I don’t know what this means in terms of tax and Q’s.
Megan says:
F.Y.I. December 1st is friends and family day! 15 % off Great day to shop!! Text “HOLIDAY” TO 21525 or print the offer at
http://www.walgreens.com/topic/promotion/friendsandfamily.jsp
Lolo says:
This will be great to use any $3 off $15 RR I get…. my Wags Manager told me I can use expired RR and coupons
within reason of like 2-3weeks. They know they are still getting reimbursed and know that I probably wouldn’t make the purchase otherwise. So I will try to use these RR on the special day.
lisa w says:
I was told tonight that if a coupon is $X/2 that it counts as two coupons when counting number of coupons vs number of items. Does this sound right to anyone? I thought the policy was one coupon PER item in my cart.
Anonymous says:
Some cashier used that excuse on me a few weeks ago – I really, really, really do NOT like shopping at Wags at.all. They always have an excuse to make shopping as unpleasant as humanly possible.
Christa says:
Me too, I’m only going now because the Black Friday deals were so good I have RR’s to use. After that it’s back to Rite Aid and CVS for me.
Sandy says:
That happened to me a last week on the M&Ms deal. The store manager told me that I couldn’t use a RR with a manufacture’s coupon when the register beeped just to get me out of the store. But, I later figured out it was the MMs coupon which as a $X/2…whcih was attaching itself to two items (and throwing off my coupon to item ratio). I did the same deal (at another Walgreens) and added a pack of gum and it went through w/o problem. I agree w/ the other poster’s comment that often Walgreens is more trouble than it’s worth.
Nicole says:
That same thing happened to me Sunday on the M&M’s deal. They called the manager & he explained it was because of the way that coupon was coded. So he then voided the transaction and did it again using the RR 1st (something I’ve NEVER done) and then the exact same coupons and it went through without adding another item. Strange, but worked!
Rachel Durfee says:
Happened to me two I bought 6 kleenex and used to qs but since the q was for 50 cents off 3 I had to get filler. I think it is a corporate thing not the store picking on u. Dumb though.
Lolo says:
It is right in most cases. It depends on how the coupon is coded. I can’t ever remember what code goes to what so I just always assume it will attach to 2 of my items, however I pushed it this last week with the buy 2 secret get $5 off BW q and found it did not attach to all the items. If it beeped, I was just going to throw on my little $.10 snickers filler. So you can try it and if it beeps throw on a small filler and it should go through.
Meridith says:
Keep your eyes peeled for coupons on the back of 3 packs of tape. In my store, they were on a cardboard display, and the tape was near the bottom. I found them trying to find the correct tape for the 99 cent coupon that was in their ad last week.
Deanna says:
My Bic Luminere coupon was for 1.50, making it even a better deal
Stephanie Werner says:
I had that, too, and they wouldn’t take the coupon
Lorine Edwards says:
I tried to use the $1 off ANY vaseline on the .99 travel size. and the register beeped and the woman wouldn’t let me because it was one penny over. I asked her to just adjust it down to .99 off…and she laughed at me and said, “I want to keep my job ma’am..I’m not getting fired over that!” Doesn’t it say in the new coupon policy that they can adjust down coupons??? I guess I need to look it over again and print it out/keep it with me.
Erin says:
I tried to do this also and the cashier asked “how do other cashiers handle that?” I told her they just get adjusted down and she did not know how to do it so I just cancelled the transaction…if you threw in another filler item it would likely work w/out a problem
Lolo says:
some do not know how to do it and/or my wags prefers not to have it marked down due to grufff from P&L so they will adjust the price up of the item instead. i.e. if the travel size is $.99 ask them to charge you $1 for it. All the cashiers I have encountered know how to do this. HTH
Mitch says:
I was browsing through thinking how I do so much beter at CVS and then saw the Sambucol deal!
I had those coupons and threw them away!
I will have to get more booklets.
Sambucol is black elderberry extract, it helps fight the flu!
We take it all Winter in my house, especially my 7 year old.

Anna says:
I went to Wags and did 4 deals early this am. I got 3 coupons for $3 off $15 (that printed out from the catalina machine). I used one but not sure I did it right. It is only good for one day. I was wondering if anyone else got these? The one I used beeped but the manager put it through anyway. I made out big time this Black Friday. I usually have NO MONEY to spend on any extras and I got nice gifts and have almost done all my monthly shopping AND it is not even pay day until 12/1. PLUS, I have probably close to $100 in RR and ECB!
THANK YOU, Colin and HTS readers! Happy shopping and belated Happy Thanksgiving!
Anna says:
PS. There are Betty Crocker muffin mixes on sale for 89 cents with WG coupon and there are several internet MC coupons on SS and coupon.com and Target for 50 cents off/1 item making the muffin mix 39 cents plus tax. I tried it and got 6 muffin mixes!
Rachel Durfee says:
if u do it at riteaid u can get them for free. Look at collins post. Still a great deal though.
Anna says:
Thanks! I don’t have a Riteaid
. Better deal for sure.
Nalu says:
If you got the Huggies diaper deal last week, you should’ve gotten a $2 off Pamper MQ catalina, making this a pretty god deal for Pampers this week.
Rachel Durfee says:
wait until wednesday or when the 4 day sale is for pamers. There is a pdf file floating around for the natrol 3=3rr product is 3 off. So a 3mm. My plan is to buy 2 natrol to make 1mm on pampers. pampers=8-2catalina=6 -3-3 from natrol need 3 filler total is your filler and tax get a 1rr making a tiny bit back.
Sue Lieberg says:
I did not find any BIC lighters for $2.99, couldnt find it in the ad either. Anyone find the $2.99 lighters?
Kim T says:
I need to know that answer too. I was just at Wags bought a Bic Luminere and they charged me $6.29, when I told them they were on sale they told me to show them in the ad. I couldn’t find it Help! Thanks
klink says:
At my local Wags they keep the lighters behind the main register by the cigarettes.
heleng says:
Not all stores carry this item as a basic item at my store they had it on a clip strip & there was only 1.
Deanna says:
Bic Lighters including Multi Purpose, Lumine Candle Lighter $2.99
Use the $1/1 coupon found in 11/7 SS
Plus, use the $1/1 coupon found in the December Coupon Booklet
Final cost $0.99!
I’m not seeing this in the ad? Can someone clarify this deal?!? I use these for the fireplace and candle jars so i’d love to get some. TIA
Michelle says:
Its in the Dec walgreens book
Reitha Stevenson says:
The manager at my local walgreens scanned the both lighters ….. one rang up for $4.99 and the other for $6.29….. needless to say I didn’t buy one even with my coupons
Tami says:
There’s a command product coupon on their website for $1 off.

Mo says:
Hey all – I think the 2.99 Bic lighter deal is regional. I’m in No CO & ours are on sale (saw that a yellow tag was hanging on them in the store), but for 5.29; there’s no sign of them in the ad though. So 2.79 after the coupons IF you had the $1.50/1 mfr, which I did (must’ve also been a regional thing). I’m bummed b/c I totally didn’t realize that until I got home; so now even if I return it, I’m out my $1.50 coupon so I guess I’ll keep it. On the up side, I’m hoping to get my $3 back from the Bufferin rebate (bought the Bufferin in the same purchase as lighter), so I’ll come out even anyways.
Mo says:
And… I’m wrong. The rebate promo period is over. So… I guess I’ll be forfeiting the $3/1 mfr Bufferin q (and the Wags one too) when I return it to the store. I can’t take aspirin, and was just snagging it to put it in our emergency kit – but I’ll find another deal on it somewhere else another time.
Samantha Booker says:
I have some questions about the Olay deal… On the $5 coupons, won’t one of them have to be adjusted down to $2.50 for the one that is 50% off? Also, won’t the $5 coupons attach to the body wash and make the Free lotion w/body wash purchase coupon beep? I have been couponing for awhile, but hesitant to “overlap” coupons like this….would love an explanation!!!
Olay/Secret money-maker
Buy 2 Secret Trial Size deodorants $0.99 each = $1.98
Buy 2 Olay Ribbons Body Wash on sale B1G1 50% Off $4.99 each = $7.49
Buy 2 Olay Quench 8.4oz Lotion on sale B1G1 50% Off $4.99 each = $7.49
Total = $16.95
Use 2 $5 off 1 select Olay product with Secret purchase coupon from the 10/31 PG (Exp 11/30)
Use 2 FREE Olay lotion with body wash purchase coupon from the 11/28 PG
(the cashier will deduct $2.50 for one lotion and $4.99 for the other lotion)
Final cost FREE + possible $0.54 in overage to go towards other items!
**Do this deal 3 times and you can submit for this $20 rebate which will turn this deal into a serious moneymaker!
Shaheena says:
I did this deal today and had no problems!
Lolo says:
Samantha, I did this deal over BF and did not need a filler for the extra RR i was using so it does not attatch to all the items. And the Q will come off in its entirety regardless of the price being less cause there is other stuff to absorb it, HTH
Jen says:
Do I have to buy 2 of everything? Can I just buy one and get it all free? I just can figure it out this morning!
Jen says:
Nevermind. Doesn’t work unless you buy 2. Coffee kicked in and I figured it out
TH says:
can I buy one of everything (secret, olay body wash and olay lotion) and use one of each coupon? It seems like I could. I don’t have 2 of the B1secretG1body wash coupons. The only downside is that I’m not taking advantage of the second item being 50percent off.
JennyB says:
Actually, scratch my last comment. I was wrong. You can get an awesome deal if you only have one of each coupon. You will get to take advantage of the 50% off because you are buying 2 Olay products – they do not have to be the same product.
Buy 1 Secret Trial Size deodorant $0.99
Buy 1 Olay Ribbons Body Wash $4.99
Buy 1 Olay Quench 8.4oz Lotion $4.99
Total = $10.97
Use 1 $5 off 1 select Olay product w/ Secret purchase coupon (-$5.00)
Use 1 FREE Olay lotion with body wash purchase coupon (-$4.99)
Then the register applies the B1G1-50% off (-$2.50)
Total = $1.52 money maker!
Make sure you buy something else in the same transaction so you can use the overage.
BTW, my computer is having issues so I was “Jen” above and “JennyB” here. Same person

I like my neighborhood WG’s staff, the only big turn off for me is their policy of forfeiting your RR privilege once you return the item (regardless of the reason) it’s almost like saying no you can’t have your money back. Just for comparison, CVS will give you an in-store credit to reuse your EBR for the porduct you are satisfied with. For a loyal shopper like me, that is just fair.
These Register Rewards, Extra Bucks, and Up Rewards are just their way of making you come back to shop more and sometime more than what you need, really. Just my two cents.
Lolo says:
They MUST return your full price (minus any Wags Q’s) if they can not provide you with the RR back. (I never have an issue with this at my stores.) If they fail to give it back to you, they are committing fraud as they are getting reimbursed from the Manufacturer AND getting the product back to resell. Tell them you will contact the Dept of weights and measures if you have a problem with them. Also call corporate and let them know if it does not change that you will be contacting the Dept of weights and measures. They can be seriously fined.
dekya7 says:
Thanks for the reply. I did, however, read the policy regarding RR & coupons, there’s no clear explanation about returns.
Kathryn says:
I printed off the Goody brush coupon and it says “available at Wal-Mart stores” on the coupon. Can we still use it at a Walgreens?
Thanks!
Mary says:
I used my at Target yesterday without a problem – no beeps.
Tisha in SC says:
My store did not have the 2 ct breathe right strips however I will tray another one later in the week. If anyone found them at their store, where were they located? Were they located with the rest of breathe right strips?
Anonymous says:
i saw them up by the cash registers. HTH
Lisa says:
According to Walgreens coupon policy, they should take 2 coupons on B1G1….So the Lysol toilet cleaner @ B1G1 or two for $ 2.99…use two coupons for $1 off, makes this two for $.99. I went there today to do 2 coupons, and did not know the coupon policy. When the cash register beeped & the cashier rejected the 2nd coupon I did not argue.
Melissa R. says:
If your coupons were the ones Collins mentioned, they are for $1 off of 2. That’s why you couldn’t use 2 coupons on 2 items.
Tammy York says:
Confusing myself here. Can I use olay P&G RR on the gillete razor since it is a P&G product also and still get the RR for the razor? Thanks for your help
Angie says:
Yes you can since it’s not the same product. I rolled PG RR’s this last Thurs – Sat and had no problems receiving them.
mindy says:
I did not get a P&G RR when I used a RR from P&G and it was on a different product
noelle says:
i looked at the try me free for the bufferin and you had to purchase it by the 11/13/10 for us here on the west coast. The coupon hasn’t expired yet though so you can still get free bufferin, if you’d like.
Rachel Durfee says:
Breathe Right Advanced 2 pack trial size $0.49 with in ad coupon
Use the $1.50/1 12 ct or smaller coupon from the 10/17 RP
Final cost FREE!
**This coupon may need to be adjusted down. And on another note, this is definitely going in my hubby.
What page is this on in the ad. I can’t find it. Thanks
alyn7737 says:
It sure would be nice to be able to go to Walgreens on a Monday night and actually get a few product deals. I just want a couple products! Couponing can be great, but why do you have to buy the store out?? UGH!!
Kahra says:
I don’t think most people ‘buy out the store’, but WAGS doesn’t stock a lot of the products. I can go in at like 10:00 AM on Sunday, and they’ll be out of something that has a great sale attached to it. It’s like they only keep what will fit on the shelf and that’s it.
Lighthousefam says:
Even though I strongly despise Wags, they’ve been having some pretty amazing deals lately. I’ll defiantly have to take advantage of some of these while I’m where the sales tax is quite a bit lower than home in NC. lol. Thanks for all you do Collin!!
Dayami says:
Im new to this couponing thing but so far loving it!!! I went to walgreens yesterday and got great deals. I bought the following for ONLY $12.83 originally would of been $40.94.
2 lysol diseffecting wipes
2 lysol toilet bowl cleaner
1 colgate toothpaste
1 gillete fusion shavers
1 dawn dish soap
2 scoop mouthwash
FOR ONLY $12.83 YEY ME!!!! lol I cant wait to do more…
Thanks HIP2SAVE for making it easy and showing me direction.
Mechele says:
you can go ahead and use your RR on a purchase and still get full price on the rebate. i have done this a few other times and you might just end up with a moneymaker!! i also did the Vicks and Puffs deal yesterday twice and got 10 RR and used that on Charmin on sale, plus my cpn and RR and had to get a candy bar to make up the difference. my husband was amazed!:) i love saving$$$
Rockporter says:
Collin, the Haagen Daz coupon in the November All You magazine is for $1/2, not $1/1, so the deal will be $2.00 each after Q’s.. : )
Carri says:
I cant seem to find the $2 manufacturers coup for the Viactiv calcium chew, the post states that it is in the 10/24 ss. This is for a Walgreens deal. Can anyone help. Thanks.
Melissa R. says:
Must be regional. I didn’t have it either.
Melissa R. says:
My coupon states that the warmer is free, not the refill…so you would have to pay $2.50 for both items. Not a great deal.
Air Wick Scenario:
Buy 1 Air Wick scented oil refill $2.50
Buy 1 Air Wick scented oil warmer $0.99
Use the buy warmer get refill free coupon (up to $2.19 value) from the 11/14 SS
Final cost only $0.65 each!
