    Thank You!

This is just the 16MB and not 32MB like the regular Tag Readers. Just a heads up!

    • Danielle

ughhhh thanks! wish i read comments first, i already ordered it 🙁
PS If you go through Ebates it is 6% cash back!

      • Jennifer

FYI, ShopAtHome has a 110% price match guarantee on cash back. So ShopAtHome will actually give you 6.6% back if you tell them you found a better cash back rate at Ebates.

        • Danielle

          THANKS!!!!!!!! good to know!

  3. Melissa

Just a heads up… this isn’t the Tag system that is originally $47.99. It doesn’t cost that any where anymore. This is the small version that only holds 5 books and was clearanced from the leapfrog.com site for $19.99 and they have save an extra 20% off right now. I don’t know if they have any left though. I bought my daughter the version that holds 10 books for $28 on rollback from walmart.com with free shipping 🙂

  4. Julie G

    Awesome deal – thank you!

  5. Bethaney

I have been wanting one of these for my daughters, but kept thinking I didn’t need to spend as much as they were going for. I know this is a smaller 16MB one, but I think they will love the National Geographic Animal cards!

  6. Christina

Thanks! I got this to go with my free Tag books I got with my coupons for my home daycare:) They are going to be so happy.

  7. Stacy

There is 10% back from Shopathome!! Just click through from the “Free Shipping Event” Icon!

    • Erin

I can’t see where to get the 10% back. Where did you click on the shopathome homepage?

      • Stacy

You’ve probably found it by now but if not…it’s in the middle of the homepage, it says “Free Shipping Extra Cash Back Event” or you can click on the red “Holiday Deals” box in the upper righthand corner and then on “Toys Online Extra Cash Back Event”.

DARN IT! Just ordered the Tag pen and 2 books from amazon last nite, after searching for deals on it, for $48 and it’s too late to cancel. Oh well….I think it has the larger storage space and it evened up the amount spent on each kid. Win some, lose some.

    • marci

you can refuse the order when it arrives and you will get reimbursed for everything-including any shipping. go and order it with the better deal and refuse the pkg from amazon. it gets returned to sender

  9. Satish

My total is still 19.99 + tax = $21+…its not taking the 30% off. Anyone else having the same problem?

Promotion code CSLEAP15 will be applied only if your order qualifies.

    • marci

I had to go thru firefox instead of safari for the coupon to work. try a different browser and see if it works

  10. Satish

    Subtotal $19.99
Free Shipping on all Gift Packs Promotion Discount -$4.95
    Shipping: $4.95
    Tax $1.65
    Total: $21.64

  11. Lisa

Just wanted to say the one that holds 10 books in on amazon for 25.99 free shipping with Amazon prime but not additional books….. humm just something to consider

  12. Angel

****16 MB***** That means it only stores the equivalent of 5 books at a time. I am new to all of this TAG stuff and over Black Friday bought my son a TAG pen for the first time. I spent $25 (after coupons) and it came with a 32 MB pen (stores 10 books) and a free book. Target had them on sale as well for $25 without the book. This is still a good deal Collin has posted and I ALMOST jumped to purchase it with plans to return the set I have sitting under the tree until I saw the memory storage difference. Just want to give readers a heads up incase that part of it is important enough to them.

    • Yvette

wow i just ordered it but did not think about how many books it could hold. Thanks for the heads up.

    • april

I did the same deal at Target and was going to purchase this and return Target’s before reading this post! Thanks!

  13. Mare

Oh well! I ordered it before reading the comments. Thanks for the deal notice. The price was right for my budget. I got it for 18.16

  14. Leslie

I can’t get it to accept the coupon code either. Any thoughts??

    • Stacy

I ordered yesterday with this coupon code and copy and paste would not work, I had to key in the code. Hope this helps.

    • Michele

I just had to clear it out and go back in to have it accept it. But also, if you have used the coupon already once, it will not allow you to use it again. I needed to ship mine to another address, so I just didn’t log into my account and did it that way. It then accepted the coupon code. Got mine for 17.39 including tax. Even if it only holds 5 books at time, for the price it is worth it.

  15. Leslie

Well, I took the code out, deleted the item from my cart and did it all over again. The second time, it took it. Yay! Thanks for posting the great deal, Collin!

  16. Niki

Kind of dump question cause I never own it before. What year is it for? I have a 4 yrs old, will be it be suitable for her. I don’t want the one that is too babyis for her.

    • Kesha

my 4 year old has been begging for 1. she has the vtech bugsby, but i think she’s kind of over it (i guess a little childish for her, or so she thinks). i’m sure your daughter will love it.

    • Michele

It says it is for 4-8 year olds.. and you can choose the books that are read for the appropriate age group

    • Megan♥

My almost 4 year old and 2 year old both use the Tag Reader with no problems. There are lots of books available for different age ranges, from 4 – 6 and 5 – 7 usually.

      • Niki

Cool thank you for answer. I think I am going to order one. My daugther love to read and I don’t. Lolz….

  17. Anna West

We cant afford a lot this year and I want to say Thank You because I would have never gotten her one at the other prices, I kow its small storage space but better than nothing . I really appreciate you posting this.

    • Megan♥

You know, the small storage is not really that big of a deal. We have the bigger one, but even then it’s not “big” enough. Just only have the books out and available that are loaded and put the others up. Switching books on it is really quick, no big deal.

    • Kesha

my daughter has the vtech bugsby (it takes the cartridges, no memory) and i have found them really cheap and we still don’t even have but 5 books and she still reads the same ones and never complains. i did order her this one, knowing about the smaller storage, but i think since it was under $20 it was worth it. hope your daughter enjoys it 🙂

  18. M

ANY DEALS ON THE BOOKS???? I think there $9-14.. i got 2 free a couple weeks back from target w/ 2 manf cq and the bogo sale. But 2 books is not enough! ANY DEALS OUT THERE ANYONE HAS SPOTTED OR IS COMING SOON??????

update: FREE TAG BOOK OR TAG JR BOOK.. THANK U COUPON GODS!!! LOL

  19. Olena Steinmetz

Thank you Collin, just ordered one for my daughter. I know she’ll love it. And smaller storage is not bog deal for us since changing the books is easy, as someone wrote on here. Great deal.

  20. Olena Steinmetz

oh, and did go through ebates

  21. Amanda C

Bought some tag junior books earlier today for $7.99 because for whatever reason they never seem to go on sale. Frustrated though that the free shipping coupon for ordering a tag book is not applied to the tag junior books. What do they have against people using the Junior version?

    • Chelsea Vincent

The Jr will not read TAG regular books but the regular TAG pen will read Tag Jr books.

  22. Erin

The regular tag is on sale for 29.99. If the 15% off code and then the 10% off from shopathome it should work out to less than $23. Is that good for the 10 book holding version? I”m trying to decide if its worth it just to buy the bigger one and spend the extra $8 for double the book memory.

  23. Heather Olson Becker

I just got this for my 5 year old son, before I read the reviews. He’s getting several of the books for Christmas, but I hadn’t bought the tag system just yet. Is it a real pain to switch the books since this one only holds 5? I’m regretting my purchase now…And what is ebates??

    • Kristina

IMO, it is a royal pain. I picked up the 32MB pink one at Toys R Us for under $18 this past summer .. including the 1 year replacement option. (Our first 32MB pink one only lasted 5 months – we didn’t have a replacement plan and LeapFrog was less than helpful.) We still have our old green 16MB Tag pen so I leave 15 or 16 of the books out at any given time (whatever fits on the pens). The kids have to remember which book is on which pen. After a while, I rotate the books…I haven’t done that in a while. lol

    Thanks SO MUCH!!
