This stuff is amazing. Seriously! I use it every single day!

    • susanh

      What is this used for?

      • Whitney

I cook with it AND use it as a moisturizer! I use it instead of butter or oil in almost everything I cook or bake. I scramble eggs in it instead of butter – it makes them so fluffy and they taste sooooo yummy!

  2. Deb

I got in on the deal a while back when we got a jar free.
When it came I never could figure out what to do with it so I gave it away to a friend.

  3. TH

Yes, what all can it be used for? I am interested in it b/c I heard that it can be helpful for very itchy skin? But don’t want to buy so much of it unless I know I can use it all somehow.

It’s a great skin and hair moisturizer (My skin loves coconut oil but my hair doesn’t). It can also be used as a substitute for butter in some kinds of cookies. Much healthier.

My sister has gotten into the organic, free range, etc… eating because of her allergies to so much foods and such – She posts recipies on her facebook account from time to time and they almost always seem to include coconut of some sort – like coconut oil, coconut milk or coconut cream.

She says it is healthier and the meals are wonderful – I think I wills tart using coconut too. here is a post she made-

Misty: Experimental recipe number two- Free range organic Chicken in a crock pot simmering in Free range chicken broth, cconut cream and pureed tomatoes, garlic, parsley, kale, red onion, and green onion. Lets see how it turns out!

Misty: Turns out everyone loved it! I let it marinate overnight and the next day so tender it literally fell over the bones. Yummy.

It is used for all kinds of things..you can cook with it as a healthier cooking oil…you can ingest it orally for numerous health benefits..you can use it on your skin as lotion or in your hair as conditioner…check out the website for customer reviews of the product…there are so many uses for coconut oil…it is amazing!

Thanks for the heads up on this. I have been wanting to try it & FINALLY there is a deal that is reasonable!

Coconut oil is the best for popcorn. It gives you the authentic movie theater taste. These jars would last a long time because coconut oil is very thick so you only need a bit.

    • Natalie

You’re right, I worked at a movie theater groing up and we used coconut oil to pop the popcorn.

  7. TAMMY

I got the jar a while back also when they were offering a free jar. I used it once and I really didn’t care for it. I love coconut but didn’t care for the oil. I don’t like to throw things away so I will check the site and see if there are other ways to use the jar.

    • April

Tammy, where do you live? Maybe someone nearby would buy it from you or you could give it away.

  8. Robin Roach

Thank you! We use coconut oil everyday on my daughter’s skin for her eczema and I have been wanting to try the tropical traditions. What a great deal!

For those of you wondering what to do with coconut oil there is a really good book on the subject. I picked one up used on Amazon a while back for .01 although the shipping was 3.99 i think. You can bake with it and and my other jar is in the bathroom for my feet and hands. If you have a foot spa at home or just soak your feet afterwards rub some coconut oil into your feet and then I usually put vicks on them in the winter with socks and it makes my feet so soft without having to spend the money for a pedicure.

Coconut oil is wonderful, and this is such a terrific price for virgin oil. I use it on my skin and hair (leave it in for an hour or even overnight and then shampoo) daily.

For those unsure as to what to do with coconut oil, Tropical Traditions has a recipe section chock full of ideas on how to use coconut products. I use it all the time for sauteing (if I don’t want the coconut flavor I use expeller-pressed/refined coconut oil and not the virgin, which does have a slight coconut flavor). It’s one of the healthiest oils out there.

This is as good of a deal as it gets! I use this for cooking, my hair and skin.
At room temps it is hard. but when warm it is a smooth liquid. I love it!

  12. Laura

Cool! I got a free book awhile back about virgin coconut oil, all the health benefits and even recipes but without the oil I haven’t gotten to use my book.

  13. Tropical Traditions

Just a note that this offer is while supplies last! It won’t last much longer, as supplies are dwindling fast.

  14. ANDREA

Thanks!! I got 2 jars of peanut butter, 1 jar of coconut oil peanut butter and the jar of coconut oil for 25.00. I have wanted to try their coconut oil for a while. LOVE their peanut butter and we were out so good timing!!!!

  15. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yay! I often swap out olive oil for coconut oil due to the latter’s nutritional benefits. And it tastes good!

  16. Priscilla

Coconut oil is great for skin..massage ur hair and leave it overnite and u will the moisturising benefits after hairwash. In winter body massage with coconut oil before bath. It naturally moisturises ur skin. Think logically by using oil you are creating a protective layer so that the skin does not dry after exposing it to dry hot water. My baby is free of eczema ..i tried it after none of the creams worked for him and he had severe eczema. It is 100% natural..unlinke aveeno where it contains partially active naturals

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

next time a deal is offered, I will try it. my nearly 7 year old daughter was born wtih eczema from head to toe and it is apainful battle for her. we use medicines that are dangerous and have bad side affects, we have tried every cream on the planet,a nd though at times she has reprieve, in the winter or with too frequent bathing, she is in itchy dry cracked bloody skin hell!

      • Jane

Sorry to hear about your daughter’s eczema. After 7 years I’m sure you’ve tried just about everything under the sun! Eczema is typically a symptom of allergies. If you have not yet had her tested for food & other allergies I highly recommend it. Most pediatricians will only prescribe topical treatments, but if you ask for an allergy blood panel test they can run it then refer to allergist depending on insurance plan.

I wish I had acted on this as soon as I read the email. As of this morning the free jar is ‘sold out’. Thanks for sharing such a great deal. Merry Christmas!
