If you click Buy it has another cute message. You can’t actually buy this Groupon, it’s just his proposal.

    • Lori

Ok, good to hear. I was gonna say.We all should start our own groupon! 😉

  12. Lori

Yes, I wish it explained what the money was for. Very cute. They could make a pretty penny from this.

    • Jennifer

I don’t think they are actually raising money nor can you actually buy the groupon. It is just a cute way of proposing. She must check Groupon everyday! 🙂

  13. Laura

That is awesome. And there is not money being made off it. If you hit the buy it button it says: Congratulations Dana or Stranger, You are now unofficially obliged to marry Greg!

  14. Carla

What a fun, creative way for a proposal. 🙂

  15. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Lol, looks cute, but I am confused! 🙂

    • emaline

  18. Suzanne Hunsley Knisley

I’d say yes! I got goosebumps!

  19. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I was at the Blue Man Group in Boston with my family and friends during the winter break, when someone in the audience planned with the theater to broadcast it on the screen to ask his girlfriend to marry him. Too funny! What next. Never heard her answer though, as they were towards the back.

  20. Xenia

haha I seriously dont get it 🙂
if I am reading that right Greg is asking everybody to give him a dollar?

if it is so I find it sad rather than cute

    • Betsy

No, if you click it just says “congrats, Dana or stranger, you are now unofficially obligated to marry greg!”

    • Sara

No, if you click on the $1 link, it just says a cute message. He isn’t panhandling for money.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

click on the $1 thing it says congrats dana or stranger you are now unofficially obligated to marry greg!

    • Melinda P

No, you can’t actually buy it, LOL! It has another funny message when you hit “Buy.”

  21. Melinda P

Cute, I just hope he was with her when she read it! 🙂 I’m so glad I wasn’t drinking my coffee when I read this line or I would have had coffee out my nose: ” A lifetime with Greg H. also comes with such perks as… IT support, and a continued willingness to pretend to enjoy theater.” That’s totally why I married my husband, LOL! 😉

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

if you go into the discussion she wrote there that he was behind her and got down on one knee…he actually showed her the website

      • Melinda P

        Awwwwwwwww! 🙂

      • Karin

OMG, so romantic! So, the only person already purchased this deal was she, right?

  22. Betsy

How cute! She must be a couponer if he put his proposal on groupon 🙂

  23. Mary L. Bankhead

    very cute indeed!
off topic–how do we change our h2s avatar? i’m Black with an afro and my avatar is a White woman with blonde hair…LOL 🙂

    • crystal

Me too..I always wanted to ask but was afraid .. But yea can we change that Collin..lol

    • Melinda P

I think it changes all the time, like you randomly get whatever avatar from a group of similar, yet different avatars of women’s heads. You can use an actual picture of whatever you want, if you go to gravatar.com and upload a picture there. The email you use there has to match the email you used to register here.

    • Mallory Davis

      Mary,

It changes. Like to me, your avatar is tan with black hair.

    • anna15nc

Go to the site listed for comment #23.3 to upload a pic. You can go to (Yahoo)avatar.com and make an avatar first or use a real photo. The pic will link to the email you use. Make sure you select the “G” rating otherwise it will not show up – on this site anyway.

  24. Beverly Carr

Obviously he appreciates his woman’s love for a deal!!!

  25. Jakie Mundell

    I don’t get it.

  26. Ambo N

  27. Karin

Oh wow! After I read these comments, finally I could understand what was going on.lol I understood it was a proposal for a marriage, but I was wondering what the people buy $1 for. It’s so sweet!!!

  28. Maggie M.

    I love it!

  29. Melissa S

This is very sweet and clever, but I have to say that public proposals always make me nervous! Even in the movies when I know they are totally fake. Best wishes for Greg & Dana!

  30. Mary

OMG, this is so cute. And I LOL’d when you click on buy and it says “congratulations Dana or stranger, you are now obliged to marry greg! LMAO!!!!!!!!

  31. Amy

She’s a cheerleader for the Bengals!! LOL It says so if you read “the deal”. Too funny. 🙂

  32. Dana B.

    I’m a Dana B. Guess I can marry Greg for a $1!!!

  33. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How sweet and what a Romantic Surprise! It is also totally disappointing as it is just another reminder to me how far off base I am with my guy….lol.

  34. Dmkapotsy

Collin I want to thank you for posting this. It was such a great thing to read today and I got a little teary eyed. It sounds like something my sweet husband would have done for me. He is very thoughtful like that. 🙂 I love to read good things online!

  35. Tika

So cute, I live in Cincinnati so saw this first thing 🙂

  36. Shannon

WOW! Absolutely perfect! Wish my hubby was this creative :0) I love it!

  37. Smitha

  38. Kari

I didnt find that cute … A little weird if ya ask me!

    • Xenia

yeah same here. IMO proposal should be personal, but I hope she enjoyed it

      • Cindy

I agree. Public proposals always have an attention whore element to them.

        Congrats to the couple though

        • Carla

Public proposals though can be just as good.

I was on a business trip and came back from El Salvador and the next thing I know, I got to the top of the escalators in the airport and there is my now husband, holding a big sign while his brother is video taping it. One side of the sign said ‘welcome back’ and the other side of the sign he flipped over and it said ‘will you marry me?’ Everyone around us was watching the whole thing and once I said yes, everyone was shouting ‘Congratulations!!!’ 🙂

I definitely give him kudos for creativity. It’s something I will never forget, and since it’s on tape, we will be able to show our daughter.

          • bri

that’s so sweet! and very creative of him! i’m sure your daughter will enjoy watching it when she’s older 🙂

  39. rebeccafer

  44. kelli

wow, that made my day. If she doesn’t take him, I’ll buy him for that $1 🙂

  45. Elaine

From reading the comments, I’m guessing that maybe he’s an IT who works for Groupon? It would totally make sense if that is his job.

    • Kate E

He doesn’t work for Groupon, just contacted them to see what they could do, and if they would work with him.

  46. shan f

    awwwww
