As most of you likely know, I lug a large binder around for couponing. Although I have been a long-time fan of the binder method, there are definitely some disadvantages…it’s clunky and can be hard to carry while also holding a little one. Well, Brandi from MyCouponKeeper.net sent me a sample of the MyCouponKeeper System to test out and it was such a nice change to my bulky and heavy binder!

Here’s what I really like about MyCouponKeeper in contrast to my binder: The box is sturdy, well-sized, and has a secure latch – helpful in the case of a spill or when curious little ones are around (i.e. my sweet 4 year-old Piper who is always trying to “help” me). It comes with durable dividers and pre-printed labels by category – very easy to see and use. I must admit that filing coupons into a box is a faster and simpler process than inserting coupons into baseball card sleeves. MyCouponKeeper also comes with two removable insert boxes for miscellaneous items, such as loose or soon-to-expire coupons, and a purse-sized folder – very useful while shopping. The folder is designed so that coupons that you plan to use while shopping are stored on the left-side of the folder and then they are moved to the right-side when items, corresponding to the coupon, are put into the cart. This folder makes checkout smooth and easy! The only disadvantage of the box method is the fact that it is more difficult to view lots of coupons at one time (as opposed to the binder which allows you to view a whole page of coupons at once).

Thanks MyCouponKeeper, 3 lucky readers will each win a MyCouponKeeper System (a $34.99 value). This kit comes with a Coupon Box 5.5″H x 7.4″W x 8.6″D, a folder, 2 insert boxes, and 40 durable PVC dividers with pre-printed labels by category. In addition, all Hip2Save readers who purchase the MyCouponKeeper System will snag a FREE purse sized shopping folder…just enter the promo code Hip2Save in the special instructions box when checking out.

I really like the idea of this system. I have tried the binder method and it is too bulky. I have also tried the envelope system and that is too flimsy. This looks like a good combination of both ๐Ÿ™‚

I just started a binder because I was tired of flipping through hard to see according coupon booklets but would love to try something new and different. Anything to make it easier! I am still trying to figure out my prefered method – even after a year and a half of couponing.

I would really love to get this system. It looks really neat and something that I would like to try. I use the binder system now and at times it is too bulky to use. And I have been looking for something that would be easier to use and this looks really neat.

This sounds like a very smart and easy system to use, I would love to use this. I currently use envelopes. I take an envelope to the store with the coupons I am going to use, but have always had the problem of trying to figure out which ones I did use and which ones I didn’t at the check out. This systems sounds like it would alleviate that problem. NICE!

You can make your own EXACT coupon box like this. I use a box, not a binder. I used to use a 4×6 notecard box with dividers, but needed to expand. So, I went to Office Depot and found a clear photo box with little boxes on the inside…It’s this same clear box! It was like 12 dollars or something. I cut dividers out of file folders to fit it and am using some of dividers from my old box. I used a sharpie to write the names of stores on the clear boxes and put the coupons for my weekly shopping trips in the little boxes (like using an envelope). The little boxes are also nice because I toss in my debit card and that’s all I have to take in the store. So, you can win…you can buy one…or you can make your own! Good luck! I wish I had thought to market my coupon box!

I bought the EXACT same box at OfficeMax. It’s made by Iris USA and comes with SIX of those removable insert boxes. I paid only $14.29 – and that wasn’t even a sale price! ๐Ÿ™‚

You can see a pic of it on the Iris USA website:
