Where are the Vapo drops found? I looked by the cough drops and didn’t see them.
    Thanks

    • Collin

      Hi Tracy,

You should be able to locate these in the front of the store, near the cash register.

  2. jammie

Are the coupon inserts for the vicks drops from last year??

    • Collin

Sorry for the confusion. I wrote in the dates wrong. You can either use the $1/1 Vicks coupon found in the 12/26/10 PG or the 1/16/11 PG.

  3. Angela

what about new pg rules on coupons- 4 like coupons in same shopping trip,…..so using 5 vicks coupons in one transaction wouldnt work…

    • Collin

Yep… you are right. I forgot about the new wording on those coupons. I have updated the post.

  4. Mary W

Yep! I’ve gotten the coupon for the free Afrin, and already used it!!! It doesn’t get any better than FREE! Thanks for wealth of information you provide for all of us!!

  5. Eddie

Yes, I have gotten the free coupons before — recently I purchase a pack of Breathe Right strips (which was free with a coupon) and got a coupon from the register for another 10pk free along with the free Afrin coupon. Walgreens is the best place to shop and Collin I owe it all to you because without your wisdom and encouragement of Hip2Save, I wouldn’t be as good of a bargain shopper. I Love it and couldn’t function without Hip2Save. Thanks

can you please clarify for some newbies?

for the Dulcolax, i was able to print the coupon off the site, but then:

Use the $3/1 in ad coupon – which ad?
Plus, use the $2/1 flyer coupon – this is the walgreens flyer, im guessing

    thanks

    • fran

The in-ad coupon is found in their weekly sales circular, which you might get delivered in your mailbox, or you can pick it up in the front of the store.

    • Amber

The flyer is the Black and white 8.5 x 11 sheet of coupons that they sometimes have on a table near the entrance.

  7. brenda

I understand the in ad $3 off ,but what flyer $2?,what is this?

  8. Melissa R.

I didn’t get a coupon for free Afrin spray, but one for $5 off any Afrin. My Walgreens cashier even pointed out to me that it was on sale for $5 that week and offered to watch my cart that was full of already paid for items while I walked back to get the Afrin! My Walgreens has great employees!

  9. Melissa R.

If you buy the Vicks drops and do the (Vicks) Sinex deal together it won’t beep. Some how the extra penny or pennies depending on how many drops you buy gets applied to the Sinex items. It worked for me this week.

  10. RayAnne

Thanks for the info Collin!!! Just got back from Walgreens and was able to get a few of the Nivea Touch of Waterlily Body Washes!!! =] what an awesome deal!

    • couponmom

      Lowest price here was $4.49.

    • Renee H

The Nivea was on clearance at my store for $5.49- how is taking $1 off the regular price considered clearance?

  11. Heather

I got a coupon for the free Afrin! It was a nice surprise! 🙂

I was able to do the Vicks deal with the Sinex caplets in place of Dayquil / Nyquil. I ended up with 2 Sinex caplets, 1 Dayquil, and 1 Nyquil. I used one $3 / Dayquil + Nyquil purchase and 2 $4 off Sinex coupons. I paid $9.00 and got the $10 catalina.

This was my first shot at Walgreens and it was a huge success. Thank you SO MUCH for all your help to figure everything out.

Side note — While it’s not free, I also did the Gillette Fusion Razor deal, on sale for $9.99 with a $5 RR. I stacked with the $4 manu coupon and ended up paying $6.48 + the $5 RR. I’ll take it!

  13. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I purchased the vick’s when the coupons first came out about 3 weeks ago. It printed the catalina for afrin. When I tried to redeem it the next week I believe it was, the afrin was on sale for $5 and some change. The cashier wouldn’t let me get it even though the coupon specifically said ” Free up to $7, or $7 off” So I went in at a later date and used the coupon and had to pay .49 cent for it.

  14. Alyssa Barnes

had my first “run in” with the Walgreens manager today! I feel thoroughly initiated now! I bought 2 of the Vapodrops which brought the total to 1.79. The 2nd coupon beeped and when I suggested they should adjust it down per their coupon policy, they told me “it was illegal to accept the coupon for less than face value.” So I told them to take the item off. Well, they still gave me the 1st box (free after coupon) even though they said it was “illegal”–which made me laugh. I’ll just go to another Walgreens to get the other box…their inconsistencies from store to store frustrate me!

The one question I had was where in their coupon policy does it state they can adjust the coupon down? I was on the spot at the store and could not find this clause. Thanks!

    • Melissa S

re: The one question I had was where in their coupon policy does it state they can adjust the coupon down?

If you have the Walgreens coupon policy printed from the Walgreens website, it is clearly there. Take a second look. It is under the Multiple Coupon section: “The coupon amount must be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value).”

Meanwhile, the problem is that it is in the policy, but so many Walgreens employees don’t know how to adjust the coupon down because they have never been trained how to do it, and they are afraid of doing it wrong and getting in trouble.

I received a cpn for free breath right strips. I am not sure what triggered that but when I purchased my free strips the magic machine spit out another cpn for free breath right strips… go figure….LOL

  16. Jenny Super

I found the Sally Hansen items on clearance at CVS. The nail polish rang up at $.89 and the lip gloss at $1.89. So with the coupons, they were both a great deal. Thanks!

  17. Cindy

I did a few transactions today at 1 Walgreens and it went like this:

    4 Sinex & 1 Thermacare (plus $.25 filler): Used four $4/1 Sinex & one $1/1 Thermacare
    Used $5 RR & paid $.75 – got $10 & $2.50 RR’s

3 Sinex & 4 Vicks Drops (plus $.25 filler): Used three $4/1 Sinex & four $1/1 any Vicks
Used $2.50 RR – paid some change and got a $10 RR. Not sure why the $10. I thought I would get a $5?

Breathe Right Strips: Used free catalina but another one didn’t print 🙁 – tried this twice

Wondering why I got $10 on the 2nd one? Even with the Vicks drops it still didn’t come to $20.

    WHAT IS YMMV?

The coupon page that was left in the rack was most likely left behind by a customer. I’ve NEVER seen one lying around at our Walgreens. But, if it was a sheet w/about 8 or 10 nice coupons on it then it was printed from Walgreens.com Every week or month (not sure which) they have some pretty good coupons that you can printout and use in-store. Coupled w/manufacturers coupons and they often make for great deals.

Just incase there’s someone out there who didn’t know!

    • Cydne

our Wags copies them for us sometimes & leaves them up front.
