Laurie, this happened to me the last time they had a big sale. I had to remove about 1/3 of the items from my cart as they had apparently sold out before I officially checked out. Very frustrating. It would be nice if they allowed you to keep your selections in the cart for 20 minutes while you finish up shopping.
This just happened to me. The things I really wanted were gone by the time I went to check out and the shopping only took me about 5-10 mins. I only had a few things left in my cart. So well, I’ll just shop elsewhere on actually go to the store. There is an outlet store near me that always has great prices.

yay! i got matching sweaters for my 7 and 2 year old. a pullover, a down vest and a long sleeved shirt!! i was going to call the store but in the past the things i wanted sold out in minutes so it was worth the $5 shipping to know i would get it. i already lost out on the satin shirt pictured above and a cute sweater dress while i was ordering. bummer. excited about what i got though!

Still a great deal, my daughter school does informal uniforms, so blue/white, etc–so I was able to get a bunch of blue and white shirts for next year in a bigger size.

Thanks. I called the store to get a free shipping code and bought all three of my boys belts for their school uniforms for 1.69 each after the 15% discount! One less thing to find for next year.
Which store did you call? Mine wouldn’t give me a code unless I come in. The nearest store is 30minutes away.
If you call the corporate number…customer service…and just tell them the store told you to call them for the code, they will give you it!

my gosh people in this area where I live are so rude and nasty.
I called the local store a lady with a heavy country (if you can call it that) accent answered the phone,and said something like ” thank u fa’ cawlin chil’rens place where {sumn’ sumn’ } 4.99 can i help you?”
I asked if she had a free shipping code because I wanted to order some things online since they didnt have the right sizes in the store, after asking me to repeat myself about 3 times she said “we dont got no codes fo’ dis stoe’ we awl out”…AARGH!!!

Was so disappointed that items that were available to add to your bag ended up having to be removed once you went to pay. So frustrating!!! I think I’m going to send them a complaint. I was so excited about four items that I had to remove. Ended up getting 8 items for $24.57 with shipping and tax but I wish I could have gotten those other items!!
Complete waste of time – Just added a ton of things in various sizes to the cart and as I went to check it out it removed everything except 4 items – by the time I entered my payment info a few moments later, it started to remove more. So, I just scrapped it. I wouldn’t bother….

I was able to get my daughter 9 items including 5 sweaters, 3 long sleeve shirts and a pair of knit pants for $29.51 shipped. I was pretty pleased. I was a little disappointed because there was a super adorable dress that I really really wanted to get her, but I had to remove it from my cart as well as two other shirts. Oh well. I got her all stock up for NEXT winter. 🙂

Why are people on here PURPOSELY giving wrong information?!?
First of all..you CANNOT stack the codes. 15% off is UPROMISE1C, 25% (only if subtotal is $50+) is chillout
Second, Children’s Place cannot give you a code over the phone. Those are only for when you purchase something IN the store or if you ask while you are there sometimes they are nice and will just give you one.
I would not call the store because some of them can be very rude (just imagine how many people actually call trying to do this).
I would suggest to just add a TON of stuff in your cart. Put WAY more than you actually want because during checkout you will be removing things and constantly going back and forth. That is what I did…I seriously had over $80 worth in my cart and by the time I checked out I wound up with only $29. (I bought 5 pants and 6 shirts).
I still have not received confirmation. Hopefully that is just because it is backed up. I hope everyone was able to get at least something!!

That is probably because you ordered more expensive things. I am talking about the $2.99 items that are on sale.
If you are able to read, most of the items say LIMITED QUANTITIES.
I did not advise everyone to NOT place an order…I was trying to help by saying “IN CASE” your items go out of stock WHILE you are shopping..add a bunch in your cart so you don’t have to GO BACK.

I did not find Mary’s first comment to be rude. Actually I believe your response to her was rude since all she was doing was trying to help others. It seems to me like you just may be the only person on this blog that ordered a bunch of clothes and were lucky enough that they were in stock. I find your gloating to be annoying.
FYI just b/c u add it to your cart does not mean it will not sell out while in the cart as this happened to me with a pair of pants. I had the size in my cart but some others were quicker with that size evidently and it was sold by the time I checked out so I had to remove.

Good for you! I wasn’t as lucky..I called to get a code and the lady was snotty towards me and put me on hold for almost 10 minutes! Just to tell me that in order to use the free shipping code I need to buy something in the store first. Ugh.
Don’t hold your breath on orders placed today! I have placed quite a few orders with CP and I have always had pretty good success – until the one mid Jan – I bought sleepers for all 3 girls and then just found out this morning that my order had been canceled. When I called they couldn’t tell me why! I still placed one today but stuff was going so fast that I won’t be surprised if it gets canceled too.
I just ordered a bunch of stuff for my older girl – size 10! And it is almost impossible to find good deals at her size. I’m so excited and I didn’t even have to leave the house. Thank goodness! I spent just over 50.00 and used the chillout code. Can’t wait for her to see what she got. Hope the order doesn’t get cancelled….

I just called my store and they are always so polite! I just told them due to the weather and my kids being home from school due to a snow day if I could have a free ship code and he was more than happy to help!! My store has very friendly staff!!

Sounds good but when I add my items and then go to check out it says “The item highlighted below is not available in the updated quantity you requested, or may have sold out since you placed the item in your shopping bag. Please enter a lesser quantity or remove the item. ” Even though I just added the Items and when I go back they are still listed and I can re add them to the shopping cart but get the same message when I go to purchase them 🙁
