    Thanks, will start looking!

Last year we got a great deal on the FINISH QUANTUMATIC Detergent Dispenser System at Target, so I bought several. I tried using it and it would “clog” up and not turn after a few uses. I thought maybe it was just a problem with the first one so I tried another and it did the same thing! I finally gave the remaining to my sister and they seem to work for her. I do not run my dishwasher but a couple of times a week and I don’t know if that is why I had issues (she runs hers almost daily). Has anyone else experienced problems with it?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I had the same problem, the last two slots just would not dispense. I called CS and they sent me out some q’s but I would never pay for the system again! I did get today due to it being free though!

    • Erin

I have the same problem. I have to manually move the insert each time I want to use it because it doesn’t do it itself. It does a great job cleaning my dishes though so I still use it.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I used them & never had a problem. I cann’t find just the refills without buying the starter set.

    • Mel

I did and then I realized I had to run the machine on the ‘regular’ cycle and not the ‘speed’ cycle which I had been doing. Since then I have had no problems.

    • coralie

      just watched it.

  5. Jessie

I was there today and yesterday. They also have lots of toothpaste, toothbrushes and mouthwash for 75% off. With my P&G booklet I was able to get 4 Crest sensitive toothpastes, 4 Oral-B toothbrushes and 2 large bottles of Scope for 64 cents!! Lots of stuff on the make-up isle on clearance too! Definitely worth checking out even if you don’t have coupons!

  6. Re: RA Erie Shopper

I would like to thank the woman who cleared an entire city of J & J baby toiletries this morning. I must have been right behind you as every Rite Aid I went to was just cleared out by one customer as the cashiers stated. I beat you to 6th st. and actually got a few and then I saw you arrive behind me at the register with an entire cart full of baby wash. Maybe you donate the items, as you didn’t look the proper age to have babies, but it ceases to be a noble cause if you take items away from individuals like myself who work hard but still need a deal on butt wash to make ends meet. I am not likely to hold my tongue twice, If I come across you again clearing out all of a deal item. You should be ashamed of yourself.

    • AL

i agree our store opens at 8am. we did not get there till 9am, but the cashier said there was a line of 5 and each person wanted 20 JJ products. they decided to limit it to 2. the people were very upset and told the cashier that they couldn’t limit enless it is in the ad.

      • Kathryn

We must live in the same city hhahahahahah

i was the first customer at my rite aid today bought 4 disten 14 j&j 2 q tips ,it worked fine but they run out of diesten and i had one more coupon ,i have 3 KIDS that they use it ,plus i gave some to my sis in law ,i will be going tomorrow for the diesten and to get 5 morej &j ,love rite aid .

    • LEIGH ANNE

      You go girl!!!

    • Cassie

I hear you! I only had a $3/3 coupon and my store only had 3 bottles. They were all the way at the front of the shelf like that was all the inventory they ever had. So I bought all 3 and essentially cleared the shelf. I didn’t have a choice though because of my coupon! I think my store must be one of the smaller stores or something because they only ever have 2 or 3 of everything! Maybe some stores are bigger and have more inventory.

I feel bad saying this too but I am about an inch away from needing charity (quit my job to be a SAHM)! The only thing keeping me from it is my ability to get these great deals. I love that people donate so much stuff but at the same time I wish they would let us poor people get some deals first! That sounds so mean!! I don’t want to feel that way but its true. If I wasn’t able to get so much free cheese at Target I might have look to the government for it…just sayin’!

      • robin

        Cassie,
Buying three of something is not clearing the shelf. That is just low stock. To all of us here, clearing the shelf is filling the cart, and we have all seen those people.
At 7 pm tonight my store had at least 20 of everything sitting on the 1st shelf as you walk in the door. I have no need for this type of product and I am tired of donating things.
People can get mad at me but I have spent 10 years serving at shelters and food banks.
Things have changed dramatically since I started donating my time and cheap finds. Last week I had enough. When 99% of the people come into the food bank to get free food, and they are busy texting and talking on their cell phone (even i phones), then drive off in a nicer car than I have ever owned. They don’t need anything free, they just don’t know how to do without what they can’t afford. I’m done venting and donating.

        • andrea

no, you don’t sound bad. My husband sells bread for a living and we donate all out returns to the food bank. The lady who runs the place said that they have a big problem with ppl calling crying that they have no food, so she gets an order ready for them and then they don’t bother coming to pick it up. And around Christmas, they were giving out special food baskets with gifts for each of the family’s children. Some ppl never came to get theirs, and one lady even traveled out of state for the holidays. I have to agree with the lady who wrote the comment about not being able to get the deals she needs b/c ppl donate so much. I mean, it’s a good thing, but please be reasonable about it. There are many ppl who rely on these deals to make ends meet. Please, even when you intend to donate the stuff, be reasonable about the amounts you buy.

    • Ashley

not to be negative, but I know someone who complains about shelf clearers and she was in line at rite aid before me this morning leaving the store with 6 grocery bags full of J&J its usually people who complain that’ll be the first to clear a shelf when given thechance

      • AL

muskegon had lots of JJ products but when 5 people want 20 JJ items each the rest of us who want 5 or more can’t get any. 🙁 also there were no kits here. the workers couldn’t find any either!!!

        • aysha

what was this deal all about!?!? some one please explain! thanks!

          • AL

there was one deal that was JJ products for $2.99 and you get a $2 up. also there are many links for $1 off coupons, so this makes theses free. and origanally there was no limit so people were going crazy and getting 20 each which means i don’t get any!! also there was a loreal youth code kit you could get for free this week.

      • Re: RA Erie Shopper

Your friend smells funny and has bad hair. I am truly kidding and we have all over indulged on a great deal at some point, but what this woman was doing was out of control. I simply don’t have the computers, coupons, storage space or desire to come home with 80 baby products. Just needed to vent a little of my frustration. 🙂

    • Miriam

The baby hasn’t given me a chance to check out the deals but isn’t this something you can just get a rain check for?

      • Sarah

I can’t say for all ra’s but ours do not account for the up rewards, so the raincheck would be for 2.99 each.

        • Mika

My store allows rain checks on UP reward items but not on SCR items. My store also limits all their steals of a deals to one or two per person which I think is appropriate. I think buying 20 of an item is extreme, no matter how many kids you have. Leave some for others, please!

          • Dee

You CAN get rainchecks on SCRs. It requires more work on your part than it usually would. There is a number to fax it to. Call 1-800-RITE AID to get the fax number and instructions.

          • momwhocares

I bought 20 speed stick 24/7 deoderants yesterday – not extream, but needed. My husband works outside and uses a lot of deoderant. However, my riteaid allows us to place orders, so instead of taking the items off the shelves and leaving none or little for toeths, I just placed an order for their next shipment that week and then came back to pick them up. So, I never caused any effect on anyone else – my point is sometimes people do need to get many of one item on a sale. I always try to find ways not to clear the shelves if I can, sometimes if there are only 5 or less left, then I may just pick them up (if I need them)

            • AL

that a great idea to order them speccial. i like your view, you arn’t clearing the shelves for everyone else but you’re still getting what you need!

            • ge

our store saysthey have no rite to place an order and will not adn states its rite aid polilcy.. and you knwo aswellas i do that rite aid isnt goin to send only 3 items to be put on teh shelf

            • rachel

so agreeded we all know that a free baby item is going to be extra hot. Most times during diaper deals my riteaid is sold out of huggies! I ordered in 22 items for my family. I use the baby lotion and we all use vapor bath when sick. Plus i have two kids and I know lots of people are getting these for baby shower rgifts. It is frustrating to not get what u wanted but blaming it on one person isn’t very nice. Plus baby magic is 3=3 rr next wee kat wags so its not like your screwed in a way. Rainchecks people

        • Dee

NOOOOOOO MAAM, they do have to give you a rain check subtracting the up reward! That means its .99 cents. That is the policy! Go get your .99 cent raincheck! Call 1-800-RITE AID to check that before you go if you dont believe me.

          • Sarah

Believing you is not an issue, getting the store to believe me and give a .99 raincheck however….

          • Jan

Thats why sometimes I hope they ran out. Then I don’t have to put the money out upfront. I have gotten rainchecks a few times.

            • Elizabeth

I have gotten rainchecks as well and they just subtract the up amount off the raincheck. They were out of Dove last week so “I got a raincheck for 2/$2 not the same money maker deal I was interested in but still a decent deal.

        • coralie

if your store does not write the raincheck for the price after the ups call 1800RITEAID. i called on friday questioning their raincheck policy. they said they are to write the raincheck for the price after the ups. give them the store number, and they will immediately send them a notice telling them of the correct way to do it.

        • Kate

You might want to ask if they will just deduct the Ups reward from the item price on the Rain Check. That is how my Rite Aid and Walgreens writes out their Rain Checks. It seems to be just common sense, you get a discounted price to match what you would have received had the Ups or RR printed.

    • Jennifer

Our RA opens at 8 and I was there at 10. 5 spaces were already cleaned out and I was able to get 6 various bottles. I had the $3/3 coupon as well as 3 of the $1 coupons. I had 3 other couponers rudely reach in front of me grabbing bottles. I have a 20mo old and use this stuff like crazy since my hubby thinks it takes so much to wash the kid LOL

      • Julie

LOL, at least your husband will give the baby a bath. Mine is afraid he will break something off!

        • Amanda

I guess there is one advantage to living out in the sitcks, no one does rite aid deals and there is always more than enough to choose from! We dont have a target in the whole state though haha

    • ali mae

lol. I’m from Erie. Guess I won’t worry about putting that into my deal scenarios. Oh well. Glad I didn’t print any coupons :D.

    • SaraJC

I shopped for me and my aunt (we both have baby and toddler) and bought like 6 desitins and the rest were different baby johnson items, my total came around to 20 items. I was planning on buying 3 more of the desitin but then the cashier started telling me how another lady had come in before me and had gotten alot of baby products (basically making it sound like she had the same amount as I) and stating that if corporate finds out that their shelves are running out that they may set a limit. Anyways, I felt bad because I realized that I had gotten the last of the desitin so I told her I wanted to return three of the desitin so that others can get a chance to purchase them, she’s like ” thats so nice of you to do that”. Rite Aid did have alot of the johnson baby products but not enough of the desitin. I did ask the cashier if I was able to call in for more items whenever theres a sale like this and she was like “no the store doesnt do that”. So I guess this store doesnt allow that…. hmmm

    • rachel

I was reading in the comments for riteaid that alot of people were complaining that they didn’t get the johnsons items. At my riteaid they were substituting riteaid brand for johnsons. Maybe other stores do that too. Last week they did it when the cookie mix was sold out substituted for brownie mix. U still can use your johnson coupons and get your ups. I thought I would tell u directly so it dosen’t get lost i nthe comments. Also if this is a regular occurance at your store (cleared ) special order or pick a different store. I have to do that because the riteaid by my house is sold out on most things by monday and I don’t shop sunday I still had to get two rainchecks at my new riteaid but I got most of what I wanted.

  7. Amy

Went to RA @ 11am Sunday. First RA didn’t even carry Youth Code, 2nd RA was already sold out of the kits. Gah! Do they restock the shelves or am I out of luck? (They were too busy for me to ask at the store).

    • preethi

i dont wana be mean here but i seriously think riteaid MUST impose limits on quantities per card like how cvs does-else we are gona be seeing more hoarders!

      • Amy

Preethi – I was only looking to get my hands on ONE of the kits! I think they only keep a couple on the shelves and the hoarders had already beat me to it. 🙁

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My store only had two and they were on a endcap, luckily I was able to get one!

      • Catherine

I wish Publix would impose limits. We went grocery shopping Saturday night and everything that was on sale that we had good coupons for was sold out. How can an entire Publix be out of Green Giant canned veggies? Coupon hoarders-that’s how.

        • Julieanne28

I don’t know where you are but our Publix (Chatt, TN) does impose limits for lots of items. The crazy thing is if you want “tons” of a sale item all you have to do is ask the manager early in the week and he will order whatever quantity you want as long as it is available to him. I ordered 3 cases of 8 oclock coffee last time it was B1G1. Luckily, Publix is great with rainchecks and I think the Italian Days runs two weeks so maybe they will restock soon. Our store gets a truck on Mondays, ask when they restock.

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Who expects something to be in stock Saturday night?

      • Kelly

I totally agree. Maybe a nice limit, like maybe 5 per card, but to let these people clear the shelves so someone who just wants a few can’t get some is wrong. It’s very frusterating when you take the time to get your coupons printed, cut, and sorted, to only go to the store and have them be sold out because someone just bought them all. Or maybe they could limit each card on a “per day” basis (like limit of 2 per day). At least that way everyone would get a chance to get a few at the beginning of the sale.

        • annnon

lol now I’m terrified to ever go to RA! I managed to start shopping at Walgreens, but every time I go there all the orange “Last Chance” slots and shelves and hooks are cleared out. So I don’t know what its like to “catch a great deal” with my coupons. But I heard the RA closer to me in a small town doesn’t have a whole lot of couponers like the bigger town I drive to. So maybe I’ll try that out someday. But I do agree. I know there are deals out there that can virtually have your closet stocked to the ceiling with a certain item for free. But just take time to think about the others who would like some too. Treat others like you would like to be treated. We’d all like to see deals available for more then just the first 5 minutes the store is open,

          Just my 2 cents!

      • Jennifer

I agree with the limits but the other problem with RA on items like Youth Code is each store probably doesn’t have more than 2-4 on the shelf at a time. And the odds of more coming on delivery day the week of the sale of an item like that is slim. You would like by now RA would see how many couponers shop there and would order extra for great sale items. I lose out often on items because no limits are put in place.

        • Dana

Rite Aid doesnt know when they order for the ad that there is going to be all those coupons out there to make it a great deal,, if the item was just on sale and you didnt have a coupons would you really go in and buy 2,3,4 or more of these items,,, usually no one does,,, so it is hard for them to order for these situations, these stores are small and dont have a lot of space

      • Kate

I would hate to have Rite Aid impose limits like CVS. I barely go there as I can’t find enough items to take advantage of ECBs. I would rather the manager set in store limits. I shop on Saturday nights and seem to be able to most items and then get rain checks for what they are out of. It works pretty well and if I empty shelves, it is the end of the sale. I’m not a hoarder, so I’m happy with 1 to 4 items depending on the product.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That they probably only ever had one of in stock, they rarely carry many of those kit type things

  8. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    Hi guys,
I read in several blogs that u can pre order with the store manager…as i am new to this world of coupons and pre order thing. I did go to one Rite aid and spoke to the store manager and placed my order. I went on Thursday and he said to me he was going to place the order for next week sale on SUnday and he said delivery truck comes on Wednesday. So most likely if u do go when the sale starts ( on Sunday) they probably would have very a few times to begin with….long story short if u know if its a hot deal at rite aid or anyother store and if they dont have any limit you are better off doing a pre order. I was sick of going to couple of stores to find Dove deal so i decided its better to just do pre order. The manager was so nice. He asked me if i was going to do this all the time lol. I am not a rich women lol. I did have a big order for the johnson and johnson ( have 20 coupons for desitin and 20 for baby wash). I’ll pay him when i go to the store on Thursday. Hope that helps other people.

    • Cassie

I think this must vary buy location or my manager doesn’t know how to make a special order. I was told that they couldn’t do special orders but they could give me rain checks when an item was out of stock. The only problem is that they seldom get items back in stock before a coupon expires. Sigh…

      • momwhocares

Cassie-you’re right, some areas may not be able to do special orders, especially large ones. The reason is they are having to order from a warehouse, not a manufacturer, so they are limited on what they can order. Basically, several riteaids in certain areas order from one warehouse – that warehouse grants orders based on what they have instock – So, some warehouses are smaller than others and never have a huge selection available, because they are limited on space and order what they are used to needing in stock. If a special order would have to come in at least 2-3 weeks before it is needed to be avilable at the store for it to work in those cases. Then, those managers deal with people not coming in and picking them up – that causes issues with the ware house space and the store space and then they are stuck with to much stock.

So, in some cases where they have small warehouses, speical orders are not allowed.

I tried to explain that the best I can remember it being explained to me.

        • Dana

          well said

    • Amber

I special ordered 12 dove and 20 JJ products. None of them came in…I have talked to several managers in my area that told me they are having difficulty getting special orders from headquarters because Rite Aid is having financial trouble and they don’t keep so much in stock anymore. Frustrating, we could be making more money for them if they would get it together.

  9. vanessa

Dear Rite aid and CVS please come to Colorado Springs, we are stuck with only Walgreens.
Good luck to you guys that got a pillow pet 75% off.

  10. pattil24

Ask for a Raincheck! My RA is great about giving me a raincheck that doesn’t expire and will deduct the UP from the price.

  11. Kelly

I am not able to get video values to play lately- does anyone else have this problem?

    • robin

I have had that problem. What I did was to change Internet browsers from Internet Explorer to Firefox. I only use FF for watching RA video’s and that solved my problem. HTH

  12. Nicole

I have found that in order to get deals for Sunday’s ads, that sometimes I need to “hide” certain items within the store.

    • Deb

      Yikes! Bad move 🙁

    • Amber

That made me laugh, it’s sad that we even have these thoughts, but funny 🙂

  13. Stefany

My RA is very good about rain checks with no expiry also. I personally picked up 8 J&J products, and I did not clear the shelf. There was plenty left for others. I plan on using the products for my child, and also to give as baby shower gifts. Early birds in this case, usually do get the goods, but that’s just the way it is. I’ve learned to cope with it. Sometimes I luck out and get a great deal, and sometime not. It’s not life and death. If I spent my time judging others based on what the buy, I would be doing myself an injustice. I simply am not entitled to judge others AND I don’t have the time! All I can keep in check are my own motives. I make sure I’m not being greedy and that’s that. Happy shopping all!

    • Ashley

      love this!

    • Nicole

I have to agree. I was the 3rd one in my store at 8:15 this morning and luckily there was enough on the shelves for all of us. I got 8 JnJs and 3 Desitin. Lots of babies in our family.

I know that 2 of my RAs rarely have stock of anything. But the other ones do..if you get there early enough. You just gotta do your homework and hope things go your way. If not…you’ll get the next one. But I do know how frustrating it is to never have anything in stock. Rainchecks suck…but they have em for reason!

    • ali mae

So true. Better to just move on, but also pretty frustrating if you really had your eye on something.

  14. Stefany

The $3 coupon on the first link is for the Quantum system, not the tabs, and I can’t seem to open the second link 🙁

  15. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Is there a way to get 2 4off 20 coupons, I am unable to another one. HELP

    • Emily

You are only allowed one account per household, and there’s pretty much only 1 $4 off 20 a month.

    • anonymous

open a second video account in a family members name and email address and watch the video’s

    • Jennifer

I talked to customer service one day, and they said it is okay for me and my husband to each have an account, but you only get one when it comes to the SCR’s cause that does actually go by address.

  16. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Im new to rite aid, how and where can I get a wellness card and does it cost anything. Thanks inadvance

    • asma

at the register just ask any one who works there ,and its free .

      • annnon

I applied online and it came in the mail 🙂

  17. Mom of 3

No RA’s near by and Walgreens still has this Pillow Pet for $19.99. 🙁 Good luck to the rest of you!

    • laura

Don’t feel bad. I scoped out 3 of the pillow pets at our store and thought “YAY!” until I had them price checked. Ours are all REGULAR PRICE (yes, the red dogs with the hearts on them). Not cool!!

      • Summer

I tried 3 local Rite Aid’s (Lansing, MI area) before I found the dog with the heart nose – which rang up at $19.99. I was so annoyed. Because of the snow I had all three of my kids with me and the 3 year old was being less than cooperative during our afternoon travels 🙂

        • Jody

I live in east Lansing. My manager said that the heart nose pet was never suppose to be marked down, so maybe someone just got lucky somewhere with a deal that doesn’t really exist.

        • Casey

Another Lansing, MI Hip2Saver?!?! And here I thought I was the only one!

    • Carrie Fry

Our Rite Aid had the Valentine pillow pet at regular price too! 🙁

  18. Megan

Our RiteAid had a limit of 3 J&J products, which I think is great!! If there are items left after they get more shipment on Thursdays then they take away the limits for those wanting more. Everyone wins this way, everyone gets some, if there are more left then those who want more get that too!

  19. Laura

Megan- I couldn’t agree with you more. Everyone wins that way. Too many trips to R.A., CVS, Wags, etc., and nothing left!!! 🙁

  20. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I was in riteaid this afternoon. The one I went to didn’t carry the loreal youth kit. I was disappointed since i had all my print outs ready. Valentines stuff are 50% off, i bought two boxes of valentines’ card for my daughters next year.

  21. SenoraE

If you have the 20% discount you can get free Secret and Old Spice deoderant in the travel section with the P&G coupons from the booklet. Herbal Essences travel shampp & conditioner are already only 99 cents, so free with the P&G coupon (or better than free if you get a Wellness discount). It’s a good way to make sure not to waste the ones that exp 2-28!

  22. Brianna

just went and they had the valentine pillow pet under teh 75% off section but said they were in the wrong place and wouldn’t ring up on sale 🙁 sad!

  23. Amanda

What is the J&J deal? I think I may be the only one that missed this deal. 🙂

    • Dani

Johnson & Johnson baby toiletry products. They had all 14-15oz products on sale for 2.99 with a 2.00 up. Then there are 1.00 coupons on the net making it a valuable freebie!

  24. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Has anyone seen the valentine pillow set on sale at any Walgreens? My duaghter us dieing for one but we have no Rit-aids in Miami.

  25. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I called 5 local RAs – I think the pillow pet was a fluke. I had 2 RAs tell me that they just scanned that exact pillow pet (red dog heart nose) and it rang up at full price. I’d consider yourself lucky if you got it. 🙂 As for the “hoarding” – I get some deals and miss others. If the shelves are empty I ask if they are getting a shipment in and/or for a raincheck. Love a good deal but not going to get huffy puffy about it.

  26. coralie

i tell the manager the good deals ahead of time and ask him to order extra. i had him order 50 j & j and some desitin. it came in on friday’s truck. when i went in on sat he had it right on the front endcap with the huggies. my store has only one other serious coupon shopper, but his theory is why not let everyone know about the great deals! (if i get some great, if not, they’ll have to price modify for my raincheck.) he has already ordered in extra tgif and lays stax for next week’s sale.

  27. Curious

If you have the 20% off and purchase the Youth Code kit for 28.00 (34.99-20%), will the receipt say 28 or 35? Won’t this pose a problem with the mail in rebate for purchasing 30.00 worth of Loreal?

  28. Becky

I have to brag about my husband for a second. :o) He volunteered himself to go to Rite Aid for me today for the J&J products and to look for a Pillow Pet for our niece. The shelves were cleared of J&J so he asked for a raincheck. They said they might have some in the back so he lucked out! I only wanted 1 of each thing and 2 Desitin but he ended up buying 8 things. :o) He also found 1 Pillow Pet, but it was 50% off, not 75%. After all the coupons he spent $22 but got $16 Ups back, and that’s for 8 J&J products and a Pillow Pet! I’m so proud of my couponing hubby. :o)

    • Elizabeth

      So am I!

      • Becky

I think he was quite proud of himself as well. :o) It was so sweet. I really didn’t expect him to find anything, I was just thrilled that he was trying to save me time since he was already going to be out (I’m a SAHM). Can’t wait for him to come home so I can give him a big smooch!

    • Racquel

Awww. Very sweet. My hubby would have said “Huh, no way that’s too difficult for me to do. And if I mess up I won’t hear the end of it.” So he wouldn’t even attempt. LOL.

      • Becky

I have been seriously couponing for about 2 years, and this is the very first time he’s went shopping for me. I’ve heard all of the excuses-takes too much time, he’ll mess up, he doesn’t want to deal with it… So when he volunteered himself I was thrilled. And he did SO good! I might have another couponer in the house. :o)

  29. Ellie

I went to Rite Aid yesterday and they probably had about 50 J & J products between the soap and lotion and only 6 Desitin. I had six coupons of each however I only bought 6 different types of body wash (have two toddlers) and 1 Desitin. Sure I may have used the Desitin one day or given to one of my many preggo friends but I asked myself….Do I truly need all six butt creams? The answer was No!

  30. Dorinne

My niece works at a supermarket. She had a lady in her line yesterday with, I kid you not, $640 worth of items and her total after coupons was $3. Yes, three dollars. For over six hundred dollars worth of stuff. I thought that was amazing…then I’m told that it was all deodorant and pasta. She cleared them out of deodorant and pasta and that was all she bought. I forget how many of each my niece said the lady bought but, wow, way more than I can imagine even a family that eats a lot of pasta and sweats a lot could possibly use! LOL

It is frustrating sometimes to see people “taking advantage” of the deals…but you never know their situation. If we had the room to store a year’s worth of pasta, you bet I’d buy it all at once if I were getting it nearly free! We eat lots of pasta because we got used to it when we were totally broke and now that we’re trying to save our pennies to buy a house next year…well, we’re living like we’re totally broke again. (Though, truth be told, we’re really not that far off from it…saving up for a house is actually going to lower our living expenses–rents here are so high and houses are so cheap we’ll end up paying less to own!)

I’ve been known to buy a dozen toothbrushes at once if I can get them cheap. People give me “looks” for it. But it’s really not an outrageous number to have on hand (for us, anyway). Replace the two we’re using, now I have 10. Replace the two in our travel bags, now there’s 8. Guests come for the night and forgot theirs, there’s a few over the course of the year. Down to 5. Well, it’s been six months and it’s time to replace those toothbrushes we’ve been using daily. Now we have 3 left over. One of those will be for when the cat knocks mine onto the floor in the middle of the night and bats it around the house and I need to replace it again. Then we have two left until I find another great sale to stock back up. I buy them about once a year so that we have enough to get through the year without running out and spending $3 or more on a single toothbrush. I usually try to pay no more than .50 each. 🙂

Or your child gets strep…again. Her doctor tells us to get her a new toothbrush after she starts antibiotics.

  31. Missy

Since everyone was at rite aid yesterday was the valentine’s day stuff still at 50%?

  32. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Me and my 2 sisters went yesterday to 4 differant riteaids and we got a lot of the J&J products with 5 new babies coming this year ,(1 my grandchild) we need to get quiet a few but they had plenty, I also called my riteaid in our town and ask about the betty crocker cake mixes, frosting and the cookies I have a rain check for them but they did,nt seem to be getting any in so she told me that they are trying to get them in but the ware house does’nt always send stuff that they order, I guess due to lack of stock, she said their ware house service’s 300 rite aids, but she did make a special note to try and get them in and I ask her about ordering lots of the stax and tgif potato skins and she is going to try and made a note of it. but she said they dont always send what she orders, but at least she is trying, and I appreciate that. Like she said they are there so sale stuff.

  33. lps229

My Rite Aid in VA didn’t have the valentine pillow pets on clearance. I asked for a price check and they rang up at 19.99.

    • jen

They were full price at my RA in OH, too, but I asked the manager if they’d go on sale with the rest of the Valentine’s things soon. He said that they’re actually pulling the V-day Pillow Pets off the shelves to send them back, but that they’d sell me one for 50% off since I wasn’t pushy and didn’t try to buy all of them. So I’m happy with that 🙂

The J&J thing is another story. My store was wiped out by, of course, one woman who bought 40 J&J items yesterday morning. The cashier told me about it as he was writing my raincheck. He said something along the lines of: “It’s one thing to get a deal, it’s another thing to take advantage.” I couldn’t agree more. My store put a limit of 4 J&J items per customer now, and I think that’s a great idea!

  34. AL

  35. Rebecca Larimore

Anyone in Ohio finding the pillow pets on sale at RA? They are still ringing up $19.99 and Walgreens is not honoring the 1/2 off (they said it was in error).

  36. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

All the rite aids in metro detroit are still charging 19.99 for the red dog pet pillow.

    • ge

im in kentucky adn teh pet pillowsare still19.99 🙁

  37. Carrie Fry

Great deal on the Oral B battery operated Dual Health Pro Clean toothbrushes. At the stores around me, they are regularly marked at 13.49 and they are marked 75% off. They ring up $3.37 each and you can use the B1G1 coupon and with tax I spent $3.78 for both!! $1.89 each…christmas stocking gifts. Only one Rite Aid had them marked. There were two colors, a darker blue and a light blue. The darker one was the one on sale. UPC ends with 4914.

  38. Dana

My rite aid has Johnson and Johnson limit 2 per househould,,,, 🙂

  39. Anonymous

its better to stock up because you never know youll get a good deal like that again its not taking advantage of it. Its kind of you snooze you lose situation. Just be quicker then the next person. If you have five kids that all use J&J then of course your going to buy 50 items if they are going to be that cheap. J&J is never that cheap so why wouldnt you get all that you could it while it was? I understand its fustrating but if you really wanted it that bad then you should have gotten there right when the doors opened like they did. im not trying to be mean at all i just hate seeing all these comments and knowing someone else is reading them that did that thinking they commited a horrible crime when really they did not they just simply were quicker(:

    • jak

There is no state or federal crime, but society requests that you do not conduct yourself like a complete douche bag. The stores will end up putting limits on everything because people think they deserve or need 50 bottles of product. In the end it will hurt them the most and not the typical consumer who wanted six or so bottles. Under your logic, it won’t be long until women are lined up in front of the store, battling each other with purses, and running through the store acting like total idiots.

  40. Sandra

I’m so bummed :(. I found the dog with the heart nose and hearts on his body and the store said it was regular price and wouldn’t honor the 75% off

    • me

It’s not actually supposed to be 75% off. If a store made it 75% off it was either a manager who decided to mark them down manually because they wanted to get rid of them or because they forgot to take them out of the valentines clearance section and felt they needed to honor the 75% off because they messed up and had them mixed in with the stuff that is clearance.

  41. Kim

All RA’s in Dayton, OH have the Valentine Pillow Pets still priced at $19.99 🙁 I was very excited about this deal since my 4 YO loves pillow pets! I will keep checking back to see if they go on clearance.

  42. terri

In MA they are all 19.99 too.

  43. Mt

Not all Riteaid have these pillow pet mark 75% off, they said it is not part of the valentine’s sale !!!!!!!!!!!!!:(
