According to quite a few of you, select Goody hair bands are better than Free at Walgreens this week! There are supposedly a few varieties on clearance for only $1.79… or even $0.87! AND some of these clearance varieties are actually generating the $2 Register Reward that is available when you purchase select Goody Ouchless Elastics (27 ct) packs…

Goody Ouchless Elastics 27 ct packs on clearance for $1.79 or as low as $0.87

Pay $1.79 or as low as $0.87
Get back a $2 RR
Final cost – better than FREE Goody Ouchless Elastics! 🙂

**Please keep in mind that this may not work on all the clearance Goody elastic products. Make sure to only purchase the Goody elastics that are the 27 count. Also, do not be surprised if you don’t get a Register Reward back as I cannot guarantee that all the clearance varieties are included in the RR deal.

Oh the irony…I just bought some that weren’t on sale yesterday when I went shopping!

  2. Karen A

If someone gets the RR for the hair elastics, could you list the upc code?

  3. Heather

I’m not sure if mine generated a reward or not-will have to check…but my store had 3 different kinds for .75!!!!!! I’ll have to see if they were the 27 ct too.

i SERIOUSLY HATE WAGS.. went in there today with my 2.00 coupon for dove tried to use both in store and man couipon./..NOPE NO GO.. they wouldnt adjust the price.. it was for the deordorant..

    • Kristin Nicole

That is so strange, it worked fine for me.

      • Matt

Next time just grab a filler to throw in there – there won’t be any beepage.

worked for me fine this morning. Maybe you should return them and try again later. Im surrounded by Walgreens, luckily all of them are pretty good. Its CVS I have trouble with. I dont know how close yours is to you, but if you return maybe you could go to a different one.

      • stacy

i should of handed over the store q first and then teh man im guessing

        • Emily

No, actually hand over the man q, then the store q. You’re probably going to have to buy something though, to eat up that penny overage in a way. Buy one of hte rr items, or buy an item you were going to buy anyway! 😉

          • stacy

i like rite aid way better they are so much nicer and love that i get stuff for little to nothing.. youth code .19 cents!!! and i got my 20.00 winter rewards wooot woot!

    • Jan

It didnt work for me initially either. I went back inside after checking my receipt and the girl refunded the difference. She couldn’t figure out why it didn’t work.

I had problems with the Dove deal too!

I sent an e-mail and got a call from the store manager this morning. He’ll honor the sale price AND accept the now expired coupon, and the problem manager is going to get a talking to. But, here’s the real issue, Walgreens (corporate/regional) does a very poor job of making their employees aware of basic store policy.

During the conversation I mentioned that all I wanted was for the cashier to follow store policy. The manager who called this morning said he was not aware of the “new policy”. I told him it was not new, and it had been around for at least a year. I mentioned that this was just one of many in a long line of unpleasant experiences at 1100 Elysian Fields.

The manager was great, personable, professional, and shared some of his woes in revamping that location. I have noticed that it’s better stocked/cleaner. It’s his third stint as head manager at the Walgreens from hell. Send some good vibes his way, he’s going to need it. Cross your fingers and hope that when I’m done, there’ll be at least one more coupon friendly Orleans parish Walgreens. And, yes, I’ll send another e-mail commending his resolution of my issue.

If you gave the man q. first, that would be 2.99-2.00 which knocks it down to 0.99, and the the store q would cause it to go negative 1.00. Does that make sense? I think it’s ridiculous that they wouldn’t fix it for you regardless, but that’s Wags for you. Do the store coupon first, which will put it to 1.99, then tell them to adjust the coupon down to 1.99 so you don’t beep. I would print the store policy and take it with you. It clearly states they have to do this if there is a situation of the coupon being more than the price. You could always throw in a small filler, but that really defeats the whole purpose of the deodorant being free. HTH! 🙂

I meant a penny overage, sorry not 1.00! Either order you are going to get a penny overage so if you want it to really be free than push for them to adjust the coupon down to 1.99 🙂

    • Emily

That’s actually the harder way of going at it. Even though it says in wags’s policy to adjust the q, most stores won’t do that. Just buy an item (20 cent pencil , 10 cent candy) then use the manu q then the store q. There will be no beeps, and if you’re buying 4, then this is the better way to go. the .04 cent overage goes to the filler, no beeps, and you leave happy.

It didn’t register for me either and I had a filler. Gave the store first, then a visine one, then the dove one. It wouldn’t work but she called a manager and since the coupon stated ANY one dove deodorant, they forced it through.

Also, the Peanut Butter Snickers are 2 for $1, theres a B1G1 coupon that expires today. They also credited it by 85c instead of only 50c which I was suprised.

  8. JenFish19

The Dove deal worked for me, but I also bought Pepsi. Wags in Detroit area had Goody hair ties on clearance for $2.67, so not a great deal. Didn’t buy them, so not sure if it would have generated the reward or not.

  9. HondaBabe

How do you get register rewards at Walgreens? I went on Friday and while I was waiting for my sons prescription and asked, and they looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language.

    • Katie

Maybe you’re in the test area where Walgreens has a points rewards card. because everyone at Walgreens knows what a RR is!

      • HondaBabe

I live in McAlester, OK… Is the “Register Reward” a card that I swipe or is it just coupons that print out after you purchase something? They said there was something that I could buy for $25.00 a year, but before I spent my money, I wanted to know if I was supposed to spend money to get the Register Rewards or does my store really not know what I am talking about… (New to couponing)

        • Katie

Register Rewards are similar to CVS Extra Care Bucks. It’s a reward you get for purchasing an item. If you look through your ad, you should see products on sale. Some have a RR ad next to them. For example, “Pepsi 12 pk 2/$9 & $3 RR”. If there is nothing in your entire ad that mentions Register Rewards, then you might be in a test area. Register Rewards aren’t something you have to purchase a $25 card in order to receive. A machine prints out Register Rewards (just like they print out catalinas, which are just coupons you get for purchasing special items or money off on your next purchase) after you buy for example, those two Pepsi’s.

You can use it on ANYTHING in the store, think of it like a $3 gift card! However, if you go to purchase the Pepsi again and use the Pepsi RR, you will not get a RR again, so just watch out for that!

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask if you have any more questions!

        • andrea

That is for RX you dont need that 🙂

I also bought from Walgreens on Friday, a 2 Pack of Triaminic Fever reducer that was originally marked $9.99… Reduced to $5.99 (last chance deal) and had a $2.00 coupon from last Sunday’s paper. (First time I used a coupon).

  11. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The reason why the associates fuss about adjusting the prices, even for coupons, is that because at the end of every week a big sheet is printed and if your name is in the “price modifies too much” category you can get written up and so on so forth to terminated.

I’m not saying that’s for every store, but I know in my store especially they hound the poor employees about their price modifies, it all rolls from corporate.

  12. Beth

I did not get the RR for the goody! 🙁

    • Rachel

I didn’t either! I’m going to return the clearance ones and buy the full price instead.

      • Kate

I bought clearance 75 cent hair ties and they didn’t produce a reward, but they were cheaper than the 99 cents you would pay to get the reward. Still a good deal!)

  13. Deanna

I was in there yesterday and seen all the clearance stuff on the hair stuff. I didn’t know the Conair brushes were B1G1 FREE. I bought 2 brushes normally $9.99 ea on clearance for $2.59! So i scored two brushes for $2.59 after the B1G1 free which would have been $19.98 normally. Took my stuff to the car and went back in and got 2 more! =)

  14. laura

Only the Scunci elastics are on clearance at our store. 🙁

  15. Flomom

The 27 count was on sale for $2.69 at my store. I bought it and got $2 RR, so real cost was 69 cents — not free, but not bad! 🙂

  16. Craig

Goodys Ouchless No Metal elastic bands 17ct. UPC: 0-41457-15216-4 $2.99 reg. scored for .75c at my Walgreens but no RR. Not free + MM, but great price still and will be a great gift for my neice!.

    • Netter413

I was at Wags last night (in the middle of a snow storm..my husband thought I was nuts, but..) the elastic bands were .75 each too but not the 27 count… they also had other hair accessories for major clearance too… I didn’t get rr’s either but was excited about getting things so cheap!!

  17. r

If your store doesn’t have them discounted yet, just wait. My wags mgr said they are being discontinued. The prices will go lower.

  18. Shannon

I received the $2 RR on the Goody ouchless elastic bands (27 count), UPC 041457473689. They were priced at $2.99, so not free, but pretty cheap since I lose at least one elastic band a week! There were other Goody bands on sale/clearance that, according to the signs, would not generate a RR. So check the signs carefully!
