I got the Fabreeze deal at one Walgreens this morning they only had one left…then when I stopped by the one by my house to get 2 more the Walgreens manager wouldn’t lower the coupon. I even showed them the coupon policy, and they said well their “big boss” won’t allow it…THEN I wanted to use my $1 off any Reach toothbrush or floss coupon on some $1.79 floss and the manager said that I could only use it on the one that was in the picture…and i’m NOT kidding when I tell you this, she said my floss was the wrong “shape” HAHA Needless to say by this point there was a long line and peeps were gettin a little annoyed so I wrapped up leaving behind my floss and luminary kit 🙁 BUT i scored cheap Sensodyne I used my $1 off 2 coupons on some travel sizes and got some free Gain soap…POOO on Walgreens in Ringgold, GA!

P.S. I called corporate when I got home and they said I was totally right! Go figure! Thanks Collin for always telling us to stand up for ourselves! I NEVER would have whipped out a coupon policy before but I KNEW I was right…too bad it didn’t work, but I did it and now I feel way more confident!

    • Nicki

Kari, did you get the managers name and report the store #. Obviously that store needs a recap on their policies. Just makes them look bad as a company. It’s even more frustrating knowing you were right but had to leave without your product.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Good for you Kari for standing your ground! Also I would go along with what Nicki said about reporting them. That’s not the right way to do business. What ever happened to the customer being right?? Seriously!

      • Kari

Oh I totally did! Your both right they looked really stupid because they were so uneducated about coupons! Corporate said that the manager should be contacting me to “resolve” the issue…I can’t see her doing that cuz she was really mean…but I would like to see her eat her own words (: and BTW when she kept denying my coupons I wanted to say what Collin always says in her video blogs “I feel bad for you because you are SO jealous of my savings!” lol

        • Craig

Great job Kari for standing your ground. Ya did the right thing!. So glad you know you were in the right, had the rules to back it up too. Cant believe after you pulled that out the manager still questioned/denied you. Glad you didn’t buy the items at that time!. You right about Collins statement! LOL!!!!

        • bergen

I was having the same issues with my nearest walgreens. I emailed corporate two weeks ago and never heard back from them. I was even more frustrated cause I had hoped they would straighten it out, So I could start shopping there again!

          • Amber

I had a terrible experience at Walgreen awhile back too — manager was very rude to me when the machine didn’t print my RR. I contacted corporate and did the survey listed on the receipt. I didn’t ever hear anything back — which made me even more mad!

          • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Bergen… As silly as this seems, try social networking (twitter, facebook) to reach corporate. It’s worked for me on a few occasions!

            • Livvy

Yes, if you post on their facebook page, you’re likely to get results. At least this worked for me when I had a problem with another company. Companies usually have someone designated to respond to customers posts and email them directly to resolve complaints.

          • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Call them, I did! I was suprised at how quickly they answered the phone.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Walgreens has been problematic for me, too – the manager at my local store acting like I was stealing by using coupons to get free items that THEY ADVERTISED! Very frustrating.

      • annie

        same here! walgreens sucks

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You go girl.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Same thing just happened to me. I called corporate and the will be taking care of this issue. She said I was not the 1st person to call. Management really need to know their own policies; I know the policies better then most.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Believe it or not the manager from the store I reported just called to aplogize. He called within 1 hour of my complaint to corporate!!!!He offered to put the item on the side and I could come back and buy it. NO THANKS, I will NEVER go back to that Wags! He really made me feel stupid!

  2. Jenny

Thanks! I’ll keep my eye out!

Looking forward to your next video to!!!!

  3. sara

I got about 75 boxes of gum all different kinds for 32 and 37 cents each! They all had a big yellow circle sticker on them with the price!!

    • Britt

I got 18 packs of gum for that price. I was pretty excited.

    • RH

That is what I am gonna look for! LOL 🙂

    • bergen

      Yummmmmyyyyy.

      • Craig

Darn! My Walgreens doesnt sell alcohol! That would be some good yums’ in deed! lol

    • Michelle

I bought 6 bottles of Berringer. When you buy 4 or more, you get another 10% off. I’m really wishing I would have bought more… 🙂 I paid $10 for 6 bottles of wine!!

  4. Trinity

I found a camp suggie on sale for 5.59 at my wags Saturday morning and bought one for a funny gift to my hubby. Went back two hours later to buy several more as fun gag gifts and they had pulled all of them! There had been at least 20.

  5. feliciaramirez

ATLANTA: Hi all, funny you should post this Collin – I lingered in the store this evening and came across the Febreeze item only it’s $8.99. Guess it would still be a good deal after the $5 coupon…but, having never used this…I’ll wait it out. Thanks for everything, looking forward to more Coffee with Colleen — I LOOOOOVE coffee, day or night.

  6. Donna

There is also a $4/1 febreze luminary starter kit coupon in the Organize in Style coupon booklet if you received yours!

    • Tracie

Thank you for posting that! I forgot about that coupon!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!

      • Donna

You are so welcome, Tracie! 🙂

    • annie

could you tell me where i can get this booklet from? Thanks

  7. Donna

I wonder if the P&G booklets are different by region, because my $1/1 Pantene coupon says Buy any one shampoo, get $1/1 any conditioner. Am I missing something? Thanks.

  8. Nikki

I too was shot down on a sunday at Walgreens in Tacoma, WA with this deal a few weeks ago I had stumbled on it. The candle was $3.79 I put 2 in my cart, I used one $5 which worked and the second one wouldn’t. The worker tried to void it and put it under a second transaction, and it STILL wouldn’t work. She called the assistant manager over and he insisted he couldn’t lower the coupon value and that I couldn’t buy the item. I even pulled out the corporate policy and he still would not help me and said i had to “come back tomorrow and talk to the manager” I even called corporate who pretended to “assist” me in the matter, they even called the store and talked to the assist manager to try to set him straight and tell him to lower the coupon value and after a little time came back on the phone and said sorry, they couldn’t help me and someone would get back to me. THAT never happened.

    good luck getting this deal.

    • Miriam

I don’t understand Walgreens. There are complaints from couponers everywhere. I know most people do t use coupons but it should be an enormous amount of money they’re losing on business regardless. Why don’t they get their managers up to speed? Every coupon purchase only adds to the store’s revenue and the managers’ bonus depends on store revenue!

    • Megan

I’ve stopped shopping at Walgreens because of situations like this. The Walgreens around here are AWFUL! There are a ton of them around here (northern metro-Detroit) and they’re all seemingly anti-coupon. Although I’m tempted to try the Febreze deal ’cause I received the free Valentine’s day things from the P&G deal but don’t have the base! Lol! Really, it’s not that bad, it’s for my MIL, we can’t have smelly things ’cause of the kids’ allergies.

    • Tina

At one walgreens near me, they will not modify coupons, but they will price modify items. So if the item is less than the coupon value, they can increase the item value to match the coupon. No beeps and I get my free item. Do I think this is cheating the manufacturer? Yes. But some battles are too hard to fight.

  9. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I got the last two of the febreeze green tea at walgreens today when I did my weekly sunday afternoon bargin hunting. I do prefer riteaid to any of the other stores. Except for one assistant manager they are so very nice and friendly and have no problem with my coupons. I scored there today also Got a ton of baby stuff, tampons, panty liners, halls and other things ended up paying .96 out of pocket used my 20 dollar winter rewards and came out with 18 more RR…the girls are our riteaid are just amazed at watching how we do it. I always have to explain why I am buying each and every product…

  10. JLP

I don’t shop at Walgreens anymore because I have been REJECTED too many times. I don’t even look at their sale flyer.

    • Lyndsey

      Same here!

  11. Shannon

I bought the last 2 Febreeze luminaires in my local Walgreens marked down to 3.59 Saturday. I had bought one a few weeks ago for 7.59 and used a 5.00 coupon. I was so excited to finally get one of these because I think they are pretty. I was very dissapointed by the scent…I think it stunk and gave me a headache. I bought them anyway because I’m going to give them for gifts. My mom and my husband thought it smelled good. LOL! I wish some of the refills would go on clearance so I can get another scent. I put mine in the hall closet so some of the scent could wear off.

  12. Emily

I’m going out in around half an hour to see if I have these clearance items. Most of the time, my store DOES have them, so here’s what i’m going to do:
    Trans #1
    Buy 2 Pantene – $3.57
    Use (2) $1 off q’s
    Pay 1.57
    Get back $5
    Trans #2
    Buy 1 Neuragen PN – $14.99
    Buy 1 Small Filler – .20
    Use $10 off neuragen q
Use $5 RR from last trans.
    Pay .19 + tax
    Get back $10
    Trans #3
    Buy 1 Arnicare – 5.99
    Buy 2 Pantene – 3.57
    Buy 1 Arizona – .50
    Use $10 RR
Get back $6 (arnicare ) and $5 (pantene)
    Trans #4
Buy 1 Lysol no touch hand system – 11.99
Buy 2 Things for $1 (sorry, minds kind of numb xD) – $2
    Use $3 off lysol coupon
Use $11 RR from last trans
    Pay tax
    Get back $7!! 😉

  13. Britt

I’m not sure if this deal was posted, but Dove Deodorant is $2.99-1.00 wg coupon, making it $1.99. There was a $2.00 off of dove deodorant within the past couple of weeks, so you get it free. I also found Kraft Ranch dressing on clearance for .87. Also, if you have any $1.00 off Always products, you can get liners for .49, and I got always pads for $1.50 i think. A lot of the feminine products are last chance items. All in All, I spent $12.89 and saved $43.35.

  14. smirky

My Walgreens did not have the Goody elastic bands on clearence I paid 2.99 for them and got $2 RR and what I did see was a giant green sign saying the MacNCheese 7.25 oz was on sale for .69 but when I got home I checked the receipt and it had rang up as 1.49.
That makes me so mad. I should have checked it when I was there but aI was ina hurry.
Walgreens is not my favorite place to shop. They make it so hard with their coupons and you have to have 1 for each item so you need fillers then you have to give them the coupons in a certain order or it will beep it’s frustrating. CVS is better. 🙁

  15. Melony

I went today and they had their Wonka Nerds Jelly Beans for .22 cents. I bought a whole box for party favors for my daughter’s birthday next month. I also go the Luminary for Free and Free Dove Deoderant. At first the cashier gave me a hard time because the coupons exceeded the price, but the manager came over and apologized and pushed everything through. You gotta love good management!

Also, when I went to RA I got long valentines day socks for my daughter that I am going to turn into leggings for only .74!

DETROIT AREA: I was able to score two of the the Febreeze luminaries for free today! They were $4.19 at our Walgreens and the manager had no problem adjusting the price of the coupon to reflect that. So sorry to hear that so many people are having trouble with their Walgreens, the ones around here are pretty good.

  17. Nikki

alright alright, i’m going to try a dif walgreens to see if i can get the deal.

meanwhile, margaret, what’s the free tampons at rite aid deal?

    cheers

  18. Connie

I was not able to use the Febreze luminary coupon at 3 different stores. ALL of them insisted to manually reduce the coupon value was coupon fraud – I’ve NEVER had a problem at any of the 4 stores I stopped out, so its starting to sound like there was a memo or a crackdown of some sort?

At the 4th store I found one for $8.49, which got me the base I needed, so I went for it, took the $5 coupon off and got it for $3.49. Now to use the free scented shades I got with the estore deal Collin found awhile back! 😀

  19. Brittany

The first store I went to was out, but I found the Frebreeze at the second for 4.19. I had the $4 off coupon from the Organize in Style coupon booklet. $0.19? I think so! Thanks for posting!

    • Jeri

I went to two stores today about five miles apart on the same road. The first store had one left but it was still priced at 14.99 so after pricing it, I left. The second store had one clearanced for $3.79 and the clerk price adjusted my $5/1 q just fine. I have two more q’s but it doesn’t appear those will be used before they expire on the 28th. I did just get my organize in style booklet today though so if I manage to find anymore after the 28th, I should still be good to go.

I actually love the citrus smell and the colors go great in my bathroom!

  20. babymama1205

I REFUSE to shop at walgreens I don’t care if half my stuff is free I just don’t want the hassle. Past that I have asked several times about the coupon booklet and they are clueless in both the stores here. I won’t go back in that store and I absolutely forbid my husband to go. We get sweet deals at CVS and way more often.

  21. Bella

the dumb girl at walgreens would NOT let me use the $5 off coupon for the luminary thing that was priced at $3.79 ! there was NOTHING on the coupon saying the product had to be over the coupon amount..she even called the manager and he said to do a price adjustment but she didnt know how so i left with out it

  22. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

had the same problem with the luminary candles, CLUELESS!! I even had the coupon policy in black and white and still would not adjust the coupon down. I am so frustrated with that store. They finally have a policy and its still not being followed!
