Side note, I did have issues using the Walgreens Beauty Guide coupon… however, the Walgreens cosmetic cashier knew about this issue and was able to input a special code to get it to work. And one more note – if you want your local Walgreens cosmetics cashier to really like you 🙂 , buy some of the Promotional items. These Promotional items help them to earn additional bonus money! This is also an awesome way to show your coupon friendly cashier some appreciation!
The current promotional item (at least at my store) are Revlon lip glosses. These should be displayed near the cosmetic register. They are on sale buy one at $4.99 get one 50%. Plus, when you buy 2, you can use 2 $1/1 Revlon coupons found in the 2/13 SS and stack with the $1/1 Walgreens Revlon coupon found in the Walgreens Spring Beauty Guide Coupon Booklet (will deduct $2). Your final cost should be just $3.49 for 2 lip glosses and on top of that, you’ll make you cashier very happy!
I have a few favorite cashiers at various stores and I always try to be as nice and polite as possible. I’ve previously even given a couple cashiers some of my freebies as a thank you for their patience with me and my coupons! Once you find a super coupon friendly cashier, make sure to let them know how awesome they are. Most cashiers are so appreciative of this and will go above and behind to help you out.
I was told at my Walgreens that I could not use more coupons then amount of product. Therefore they would not let me use a Walgreens coupon and a manufac. coupon. Is this Walgreen’s policy or just that store’s? I was disappointed. I see that you were able to use both at your Walgreens.
u were told wrong u can use both just the mfg coupon cant go below the price of item so it would be price adjusted but with almay there is no need for adjustment it dosent go below value call coprate because they were wrong
I am a Beauty Advisor at a Walgreen’s in Florida and I’m sorry you ran into this problem, she obviously does not know that you can stack a Walgreen’s coupon with a manufacture coupon. I did this deal myself and love the money-maker deals. This is not Walgreen’s policy.
were ur almay beauty book coupons working ares are not and i am having to price modify all of them kind of a pain or do u know a code to enter it in it has no numbers on coupon
I’m not sure of a code but when we removed the coupon from the book we were able to scan it just fine. It is a bit of a pain when you have to price modify.
no this is not true Jennifer! I am a beauty cashier @ Walgreens, and it’s even stated in our corporate coupon policy. I advise you to tell the cashier or manager of this store to become more educated on the corporate coupon policy. Thanks

Were you told that you can’t have more coupons than products?…In other words, if you have 1 product and 2 coupons, then you can only use one coupon. It was very confusing to me, also. That is what “fillers” are for. It you have one item with a manufacturers AND Wags coupon….then you need another item (to make it 2 items that your are buying) …buy an item ($0.25 carmel at the counter)…then you have 2 items and 2 coupons..
.2 items + 2 coupons = happy you and happy cashier!
And we all like happy cashiers!
where are you all finding your almay coupons? I have triple checked my 3/6 ss and it’s not there! Ugh any suggestions?
This all sounds very complicated. Sigh. This is why I don’t do the drugstore games. They make my head spin.
I did buy a couple of things last week at Walgreens though -the B1G1 Right Guard deodorant (thanks to tip from co-worker) and the new ProSkin razor. Got my first RR ever from the razor. But it just seems like a lot of hassle and work. Plus, the closet Walgreens is about 12 miles out of my way. I just happened to be on that side of town doing another errand so I stopped in.
If I didn’t live close, I wouldn’t do it either, but I have to say, shopping the drugstores has saved me an absolute bundle. I don’t have any hard figures on it, but I would estimate that last year Walgreens and CVS’s deals (ie games) saved me around $30-40 a week over what I would have paid at Walmart. Plus I don’t have to go to Walmart as often! (Whew!) So, yes, it is a hassle especially at first when you’re just learning all the ins and outs, but in the end, it could certainly pay off!!!
Yes I agree…it has paid off for me as well. I used to go to Walmart…which I do not like very well :), once a week and spend around $20 or more a week. I now rarely go to Walmart maybe just for cat litter (any tips on getting that cheaper would be appreciated). So by my calculations at $20 a week that is $1,040 and I now maybe spend $3 or so a week at the drugstores. So savings of $884 dollars in one year. And this doesn’t account for all the extra stuff I now get for free that I would not of bought before.
thanks for posting that if they do the almay deal at cos we get 1.00 for each eye shadow and the revlon lip gloss we get 3 dollars for each one so thanks for the love cuz that how most ba are able to make good paychecks and we are more then happy to take all ur items and do seprate trans so u get all your rr and deals and if the beauty book isnt working we are just price adjusting them for you
Has anyone contacted Walgreens corporate to find the reasoning as to why the beauty guide almay coupon beeps and if it is indeed a manufacturer’s coupon?
I went to two different Wags today and at the first they were told to do the beauty booklet coupon as a mfg coupon so I couldn’t stack my mfg coupon with the purchase…and they kept the beauty booklet q as well.
At the second store the wags almay beeped yet again, but they adjusted the price of the almay item and I was able to use my mfg q on that transaction.
It is a roll of the dice it seems as to whether the store will let you stack coupons on this deal and the beeping coupon should have be an easy programming fix, no?
It is up to individual stores to program the beauty book q’s into their registers. If they haven’t, the q’s will beep. Also, you should be able to point out that the beauty q looks just like the q’s from the IVC coupon booklet, and they never take those ones. It worked for me.
ours were working last week but my mgr told me there is a glitch on some of our ivc coupons that they are working to fix we were told to price adjust intill it is fixed yes you can stack with mfg as it is a store coupon that we do not keep or mail in im sad to say alot of wags employees dont know what the hell they are doing half the time i blame it on the fact we only train new hires 1 day then they on there own if you ever have probs ask to speak to a store mgr or better yet the store mgr if that dont work call corprate trust me they care and call the stores back asap
I try to be friendly to the Walgreen cashiers and managers in NW IN – but it seems there is always a problem. Last week with the BOGO deodorant they wouldn’t let me use a coupon – the clerk said you can’t get two items free. I tried another Walgreens and the clerk said she couldn’t check out herself and use a coupon on BOGO items. This week it was the Almay coupons – the clerk said the booklet coupon was mfg coupon so you could only use one coupon. I went to another Walgreens and was told the same thing – also they wouldn’t take a mfg coupon on the makeup toweletes as it wasn’t a cosmetic. I bought it anyway since it was free with the 30% and the $5 RR. I would much rather deal with CVS even with the limit of 1 item. I don’t have coupon problems with them.
again wags employess that have no idea what they are talking about if something is bogo and u have a bogo coupon u can use it and u pay tax if your state requires it and the almay beauty book is a store coupon but the problem is it is not ringing righ now so we have to modify price i think some are hitting the 1.00 mfg coupon instead which we are not supposed to do cause it is not one id say maybe try another wags were employees know what they are doing or speak to a store mgr or corprate also i would have taken ur almay mfg coupon cause guidelines are to vauge on it

Since we’re all questioning Walgreens… I understand their policy about not using more coupons than the number of items you’re checking out, but do most stores count RR that you use to pay for the transaction as a coupon? For example, if I’m buying two items and I use a store coupon and a mfg coupon, I can’t use RR to pay for the transaction because that would count as a third coupon. That’s the way my store interprets the policy.
u can store coupons dont count only mfg
You can use 1 store coupon and 1 manufacturer coupon per item but if you then try to use an rr on top you can’t because an rr is a manufacturer coupon.
I bought 2 almay makeup remover towellette’s $4.19 for one the other 50% off. so estimate: $6 total used the $2 off wags almay coupon (deducted $4 since I bought 2) and used 2 $1/1 almay manf. q. so free plus $5 RR. I was soo happy! no beepage, no problems. Only Prob I had was the titanium razor would not print out my register reward so I had to return it. I had the right kind and right coupon..Manager agreed with me, but said all I could do was mail out a form to the catalina company, but I said not thanks give me back my money and coupon.
I’ve done the almay deal at different walgreens in my area. Some of them kept the coupon, some didn’t. I think I have picked up eyeshadow for every adult female in my family! 🙂 Even with only using the wags coupon, it’s still a slight MM.
Thanks for this deal update! I was able to score the Almay eye makeup remover for .19 plus tax! I then used the $5 RR to do the Plackers and the Method soap deal. Then I took the Method soap and Plackers deal and did the Almay deal again! This turned out to be a great week at Walgreens. I love ending with way more money than I started with.
I accidentally used my 5 RR for the same Almay deal and figured it out after she scanned it and the 5 RR STILL PRINTED I THNK IF THE RR DOSENT STATE A BRAND IT WILL STILL PRINT :d 😀 😀
Can we get 5 rr for those almay products which are bot 30% off today I found lipsticks for bogo free at 6.99 can I buy them and get $5 rr. Can some one confirm this
wow i was also told i had to have items for each coupon… also, these products are much more expensive here in So California.
You do need an item for each manufacture coupon, RR are considered manufacture coupons.
You can use as many Walgreens coupons as you want. In my transactions I am adding “filler items” using the easter candy walgreens in-ad coupon. Perfect for my kids easter basket.
My manufacturer coupon was beeping all day no problem with the wags Q. Anyone else have this issue? The wags near my house where the devil works gave me sass and tried to tell me that mess about only using 1 Q per item and whipped out my coupon policy faster then I whip my hair back and fourth! I have $ 40.00 in RR!!
I didn’t get the $2 from the SS, but did find the booklet. Added a filler, used the $2 coupon from the booklet, and rolled my $4 RR from the toothbrushes (free after using 2 – $2 coupons plus the in-ad coupon) for a decent moneymaker on the $5.94 Almay eyeshadow (yes, things are more expense in CA), then rolled the $5 RR into a Plackers & a Method, and a filler. I went to Walgreens and was able to do the deal Collin posted. My cosmetic cashier is so nice and let me do two separate transactions. I only bought 1 Almay makeup remover each time for a grand total of .48 each time. She was so happy for me when the $5 register rewards print each time. I asked her about the promotional items they get commission on and they get a new list each month. This month it is Revlon, Maybelline, Loreal and a few others but she says it will change for April. I told her I would try to buy some of those things next time and she was very grateful. I love my Walgreens and Cosmetic girl 🙂
Collin…Regarding the receipt you show above and my own nearly identical one today on the Almay for $4.19. Why do we get charged sales tax on the original or sale price before the coupon? I always thought we paid sales tax on what we actually purchase but that isn’t the case.. Any others with thoughts as well I would appreciate..
