Final Cost
In the end (if you do all 4 transactions), you’ll have paid a total of $13.39 out of pocket for 15 items…and that includes 24 rolls of toilet paper, several razors, hair/body products, and more! …AND you’ll walk out with a $3 RR to use next time!
Please note that these scenarios do not contain ALL of my favorite deals this week, so be sure to go here for the full list of Walgreens deals available! Also, if you’ve cooked up any great scenarios, please feel free to share in the comments!
…And one more note, these scenarios are just to get ya thinkin’, so don’t feel like I am telling you to go buy the exact items I have listed. I also am not stating that you need to do all 4 transactions at once. In fact, I would suggest not doing that. Instead, pick a couple days during the week to stop by Walgreens to complete all transactions OR if you have a few Walgreens stores near you, then make a point to stop at a couple different stores to roll your Register Rewards. Enough rambling… basically, figure out what works best for you! π
Most of the readers of this blog are probably younger than me, but if there are other readers over 50, you might want to read this. I recently turned 50 and signed up for AARP. Membership was $16 for the year. This month at Walgreens, you can earn a $5 RR each week of the month when you spend $20 before coupons. I earned my first one today and my total out of pocket was $18. All you do is scan the card. This will more than pay for itself just this month. Every month there is a different promotion, but this is the second month I’ve seen them run this particular promotion. I’m hoping they do it every other month. This may be the only good thing about turning 50.
Thanks sooo much! My husband just turned 50…I’m not far behind. I’m signing him up today.
My walgreens had the Renpure on clearance for $4.19. I then received at $4 RR which made it only 19 cents!
My RR for the Noxzema razors, herbal essences, GUM, BIc did not print. Did anyone else have this problem? I wasn’t sure what to say.
no all of mine printed. the only thing that didnt print was my $2 rr for the dedorant and thats because my husband grabbed the wrong ones π
I haven’t tried the deal yet, but I’ve had this issue before. I just take in my products, the flyer, and my receipt ask to speak to a manager, and see what he/she says. I’ve called in advance too, just to let them know what happened, and got a name for when I went into the store. Usually what they will do is put the RR amount onto a Walgreens gift card for you. Good luck!
arent you allowed to use a bogo coupon if the item is already on sale for bogo?
The manager at my walgreens said no. Since the item was free. He didn’t care about the corporate policy. I’m going to try another walgreens tomorrow, they’re much coupon friendlier there!
I had that problem too. Then i got a call from the manager to tell me sorry that he would have a talk with his asst. manager. The assit said he didnt care about the policy. and he didnt want to see it.
yes you are. the manager that called me today said it wasnt allowed before but walgreens allows it now.
All these problems you all are having makes me scared to try! I don’t shop on Sundays, and can’t get over to Wags until about 4 pm tomorrow to try all this after work. I’m new and feel lucky that I have all the coupons for the scenarios, but what if the stuff is all gone?
Can someone please explain to me what the fillers are? Why do i need them? I’m kinda lost?
” Fillers” are items needed to full fill the item to coupon ratio at Walgreen’s. Here’s the deal , at Walgreen’s you CANNOT have more coupons than items. So, sometimes you nee a cheap “filler” item to complete your transaction. Also, remember. R.R.’s count as a coupon. Good Luck, hope that helps.
Are you allowed to purchase milk with your RR? I know the coupon policy says you can’t use them on dairy products but last week my Walgreen’s let me buy bread and milk with them, was this a cashier mistake or is it generally accepted? Thanks!
I have used RR to purchase milk..Mmmm..didn’t know you couldn’t and haven’t had a cashier tell me different!
Maybe it just differs from store to store…thanks!
no u cant it says on the rr not good on dairy smokes alchol giftcards phonecards postage stamps and prescriptions pandg are not good on p and g items other then that u can use them on anything prolly a cashier not paying attention

I had issues with the Clear Eyes printing the RR. Went in again today and it still wasn’t printing. (Which is kind of good, since it shows I’m not lying.) The cashier told me that she was going to put in a request for it to be fixed. I think I’ll go back later in the week to try to get it again. But here’s the thing: I used a $1 coupon when I bought it the other day, but they credited me the full amount. It’s not right at all to keep that dollar, but if I go in later this week and buy it without a coupon (even though I could technically use a 0.75 printable) that makes it even, right?
Brittany, this is actually a grey area to me. When a store takes a coupon, they will redeem it with the manufacturer whether you keep the item or return it. If they were to take your return item and give you $1 less than the retail price, they would be earning $1 since they get a product back that they put back on the shelf and sell at retail value PLUS $1 from the manufacturer. In sum, you’re not cheating the retailer, the manufacturer absorbs the $1 (which is generally built into their decision to put out a coupon).
I’m VERY new to couponing. Can someone look this over and tell me if I’ve got things figured out correctly? It would be greatly appreciated.

I realize I have the luxury of double coupons as my mother in-law gives me her leftovers…. i am a first timer… so I am pretty proud of myself!! Hope I did it all right!!!! Also, my area did not have bogo deodorant coupon, and my Walgreens does not have the RR for the Cottonelle toliet paper.
Wow…thank you Collin! You have helped my family get through the roughest of times this year!! I tried to print the Cottonelle and it said that I printed my maximum allowed. Mmmmm! I haven’t printed..actually, my printer has been out of ink for about 3 months and I went today to purchase ink…36.00, wowza! anyway, just to print specific coupons, including this Cottonelle! Anyone else have this trouble? I thought coupons were renewed at the first of the month anyway! π ???
i went to walgreens yesterday and for 37.00 i bought,
8 sticks of right gaurd deodorant
8 sticks of dri idea deodorant
4 bottles of head and shoulders shampoo
4 bottles of head and shoulders conditioner
4 gilletter pro fusion starter kits
1 nail file
1 chapstick.
That makes it less than .75 per item…
I think i did good im new to this whole thing….
Yes, i just started out with couponing, but it seems that walgreens are not very friendly with coupons.
Today I went to Walgreens after the truck unloaded, and I was able to complete the whole scenario, minus the tylenol (that I really want and will try for again). Everything went well, and I really learned something! Glad I gave it a try. I figure out the bottom line on each item – WITH tax (cuz that’s how I roll) and write it in perm. marker on the bottom so I can recognize a good deal again. And you’d be so proud of me. There were only 5 packages of TP, so I took four ( to do the deal 2x) but a fellow couponer with a list similar to mine approached, I gave her some tp! lol, I don’t wanna be the greedy one!
Good for you! π I’m sure she appreciated it!
I had a good trip! I’m finally getting the hang of rolling RR’s.

I did have to break these out into seperate trips but luckily I live and work near two different Walgreens.
I purchased two Gillette Razors in separate transactions and have two $5 RR, can I use both of these RR and get $10 off my next transaction? Also if you use a RR against the same offer will another RR print?
No you can not use the a gillette RR on the next Gilletter purchase because it will not give you a new RR.
Thank you so much! Can I use the 2 Gillette RR’s that I have on my next purchase (not a Gillette purchase). I didnt know if I could use both of them on one transaction since they are alike.
yes you can use them both in the same future transaction.
Can you use the RR from Pantene on the Head and Shoulders? They are both P&G products. I forgot when i sent my mom. She is knew to couponing… so I feel bad…
nope p n g is real picky with theres u cant use them on other p and g items all other brands u can though
