Rite Aid: Update on Weekend Warrior +Up Reward Offer: Limit has been Increased to 4

If you read my Rite Aid Weekend Warrior post yesterday, you may have noticed that I mentioned that Rite Aid corporate had informed me that the Weekend Warrior +Up Reward limit had been increased to 4 offers per household (regularly a limit of 2). As a result, many of you went to Rite Aid yesterday to take advantage of this increased limit and were disappointed to discover that the limit was still 2.

I read through the comments, felt your frustration, and emailed my Rite Aid contact who apologized and stated that he had been misinformed. I am happy to report that Rite Aid just contacted me, apologized for the error, and informed me that they are increasing the Weekend Warrior promotion to a cumulative limit of 4 +Up Rewards for the remainder of this week (through Saturday, May 28th). How awesome is that?! Please note that this means you can receive a total of 4 $10 +Up Rewards per Wellness card (if you have received Weekend Warrior +Up Rewards in the past weeks, these will count towards this total).

If you attempted to snag an additional 2 Weekend Warrior +Up Rewards yesterday or Sunday, you can contact customer service at 1-800-RITE-AID for a remedy.

As a reminder, here is a moneymaking deal scenario for this week (valid through May 28th):

Buy 1 Bengay Cream 2 oz. $5.49
Use the $3/1 coupon from the 5/22 RP
Use the $2/1 in-ad coupon
Pay $0.49*
* Do this transaction 5 separate times (since the Rite Aid coupon can only be used once per transaction). You’ll pay a total of $2.45 out of pocket after coupons and Get a $10 +Up Reward so your final cost will be FREE + a $7.55 moneymaker!

On a side note, did I mention how much I LOVE RITE AID!!! As you can tell from this incident, Rite Aid provides amazing customer service. If you want to drop them a note to let them know how much you appreciate the outstanding customer service that they provide, head on over here.

I started this deal last night after work-was only able to get 4 of them. And they were even lower in cost because of my 20%.

  2. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

This sale is not in our ad this week, there is no ad coupon on the ben gay.

  3. wrestlefan2

same in our area as well, but I’m curious about something…I have a coupon for B1G1 of an Item that is 5/$10 ($2 a piece). The store has a tear coupon by product for $1 off.

If get 2 of the items, can I use the B1G1 Free AND the $1 off or can only use the B1G1 Free?

    Not sure how these work

    • Jill

You will able to use (1) $/1 along with every B1G1 coupon BUT rumor has it the policy is changing tomorrow on B1G1 stuff….no one is sure what the change will be yet…

    • Jill

Now I’m curious, what is your coupon for?

      • wrestlefan2

my local store has lean pockets on sale for 5/$10. Also so does my local grocery stores like Winn-Dixie and Langenstine’s.

I don’t know if this is just a regional sale, but a manager at my local Rite-Aid told me that go so many in there wasn’t enough for the space the have so their store was told by the regional manager to put them n sale at this price.

Not sure if what he told me really happened or he was just just trying to make up a reason for it, but either way, I can’t pass up this deal…1 2-pack of Hot or Lean Pockets for .50 after savings

        • Jill

Gotcha! That is a good deal! *Most* stores will allow (1) $/off coupon along with a B1G1 (to be used on the one your buying 😉 )

        • Tawanda

Greetings wrestlefan2 from another NOLA couponer!

    • NolaGirl

Rite Aid’s coupon policy changed today https://content.riteaid.com/stores/CustomerCouponAcceptancePolicyAugust2010.pdf. The change does not permit the use of a manufacturer’s BOGO coupon and a manufacturer’s “cents off”coupon.

“Buy One, Get One Free  Rite Aid accepts Buy One, Get One Free coupons, however ONLY ONE COUPON CAN BE USED FOR EACH PAIR OF ITEMS PURCHASED. A customer can use one “cents off” coupon in conjunction with the item they are purchasing on a Buy One Get One Free promotion (or with a Buy One Get One Free coupon), although the value of the cents off coupon cannot exceed the selling price of the item.  Buy One Get One Free coupons cannot be used in conjunction with a Buy One Get One Free promotion.”

  4. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I purchased more BenGay this morning to see about the limit on the WW and I only got two $10 UPS and it says that my Weekend Worrior limit is reached. So looks like it did not increase for me 🙁 it is still 2.

    • Collin

      Hi Grace!

The limit was not increased to 4 until about 2 1/2 hours ago. Please contact customer service at 1-800-RITE-AID for a remedy. Thanks!

      • Jeremy

I must have just missed them changing the limit. I was at my Rite Aid today and did the Ben Gay deal trying to get my 3rd WW reward. However the reward did not print but said I have reached my maximum amount for this promo. I called Rite Aid around 12:30pm eastern time and they said the limit was 2. Should I wait 48 hours or so to call back to make sure my recent purchases show up in their system?

        • Collin

I would call them back first thing tomorrow as Eric with Rite Aid Public Relations assured me that all of the customer service reps were informed that the Weekend Warrior offer has been increased to a cumulative limit of 4 through Saturday.

  5. Annette

We didn’t get this coupon in the Rite Aid add either.

  6. Eric Harkreader, Rite Aid Public Relations

Thanks for relaying this update, Hip2Save, and for your patience — plus that of your readers — after the miscommunication on Rite Aid’s part. Eric Harkreader, Rite Aid Public Relations

    • Sarah B.

You guys are so awesome for listening & fixing it so quickly! thanks!!!

    • kristie

Thanks for clearing this up. Is it true that a new coupon policy is coming out?

  7. cathy

I’m in Michigan. And the bengay coupon is not in my Rite-aid ad. Michigan and Southern Cal, have two less pages of ads.

  8. jennifer

new to all of this. What’s the weekend warrior thing?

    • Collin

      Hi Jennifer!

Rite Aid is offering up a Weekend Warrior +Up Reward that is supposedly valid through June 25th. Simply purchase $25 worth of Motrin PM Caplets 20 ct., Aleve 80 ct. or Aleve PM 40 ct, Advil 80-100 ct, Excedrin 24 ct., Tylenol Precise patch or cream, or Bengay 2 oz. or Patch 4 ct. and Get a $10 +Up Reward. This promotion normally has a limit of 2 offers per Wellness Card, but as I explained in the post above, the limit has been increased to 4 offers per Wellness Card for the rest of this week only.

      • jennifer

so u dont have to buy $25 worth in one purchase?

        • Collin

No, this deal is tracking so you do not have to buy $25 worth in one transaction.

  9. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

What is a weekend warrior +up reward? i am familiar with +up rewards at Rite Aid but this is a new term for me. Thanks

  10. terri

It’s not just the customer service I love about Rite Aid, the entire shopping experience has always been positive. We have the cleanest store, the friendliest employees, most things in stock..I really love my Rite Aid and I always tell them on my surveys. Keep up the good work Rite Aid!

  11. Ashley

I’m confused..so in order to get the 4 $10 +UP’s you’d have to do this transaction over & over again? Can someone please help? I don’t understand how this works. I would like to do this, but I don’t want to be at Rite Aid doing a ton of transactions over & over again. 🙁

  12. Liz

do you know what happens if you go to the store and the bengay is out of stock and they give you a rain check for the product…. how can you get the +UPR?

    • Christine

The offer is good until June 25th, I believe.

  13. Denise

My Rite Aid did not get the in-ad Bengay coupon either. I live in California. This happens alot!

  14. erin

hi, i read this entire post and just went to rite aid to get the ben gay deal–i got 2 ben gays for under a dollar (which was great) but did not receive any +UPR. Please note that you need to purchase 25 dollars of particular products to get it. If you went rite aid shopping this weekend for the weekend warrior deal this money maker probably would work. I did not! I wish it was clear on the ben gay deal posted above that you still have to purchase $25 dollars first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • TW

Seems clear to me, it clearly states to “do this transaction 5 separate times” which would result in spending over $25 (before coupons) thus producing the $10 +UP, resulting in the money-maker.

      • erin

so you buy 5 ben gays in one transaction to equal 25 (with coupons so it would be much less), then you buy 4 more separately to get the 4 10 dollar up rewards? So you have to get 9 things of ben gay? Sorry I just am not getting it.

        • Christine

You have to do five separate transactions to get one $10 +up. In order to get 4-$10+ups, you would have to do 20 transactions total. Also, if you have a discount (10% or 20%), you would have to buy even more.

  15. mzbmwdream

I am in Ypsilanti, Michigan and I went to rite aid today and we did not have a $2 off in store coupon either.

  16. Leslie

Since I got so excited over this deal and went so far as to buy 20 Bengay coupons on Ebay for $2 only to realize that there is no in-ad coupon, I would love to get rid of them as soon as I get them. Let me know if you would like some of the $3/1 coupons!

    • erin

my rite aid did not have an in ad coupon either, however they had the product marked “2 dollars off with in ad coupon” lol. I had to take the cashier back to show her, since we couldnt find the coupon. She gave me the 2 dollars off!

    • Racquel

      Hi Leslie,
Where are you located? I am in NY so not sure how fast the coupons would get here.
      My email : lukei2000@msn.com

      Thanks
      Racquel

    • luba

i need some bengay coupons, email me at luba24 at ymail dot com

    • Teri

I would be interested in your coupons if you still have them!

  17. Jay

I get the “do the transaction 5 times” thing. But how is that different than just buying 5 in one order? The coupon states one per customer, and if they do review the coupons before sending them in, they will see your wellness number attached to 5 “one per customer” coupons. If your gonna do the 5 Ben gay deal, just be up front about it and do it in one transaction. Won’t hold up the line and it won’t look like your trying to work over the system…

    • Latasha

its because if you use the in-ad coupon, which you would need to make this the best deal possible, you can only use one per transaction. So, if you bought 5 in one go, you can only use one in-ad coupon. If you do 5 different transactions, you can use 5 in-ad coupons.

  18. kkennedy1976

While shopping tonight the most friendly store manager ever (I mean this) mentioned that tomorrow Rite Aid is changing their coupon policy tomorrow and that I should check their site in the afternoon for the changes. Anyone have any idea of what the changes are?

    • Joy

I heard the change was that you will no longer be able to get 2 items free when you use a B1G1 free coupon on a B1G1 sale. I could be wrong though. I don’t shop Rite Aid but read that on another blog.

      • kkennedy1976

        Thanks

    • rachel

you can no longer combine b1g1 coupons with a b1g1 sale items, also they are limiting it so you can only use 4 of the same coupons per person not transaction.

  19. Carol_R

I purchased 5 of the Bengays in 5 separate transactions and just got my $5 register reward. Not only that but I scored 3 more coupons from taking the survey so I’ve got 4 I need to use before they expire. I happened to have to go out of town on business and since I drove I hit every Rite Aid on the way. Since I had just got my other coupon/survey offer the day before there isn’t a 3 per month limit. Out of 4 transactions today, I got 3 offers. I’m guessing that it was due my shopping at Rite Aid stores that I don’t normally shop at.

  20. heather

if you have an ebt card you can use this to earn up rewards to use towards non food purchases just a thought ohhh and my rite aid b1g1 on the suave body wash took off three dollars instead of 2.50….ex… purchase the coke 3 for 9.99 get $2 up rewards then go back and purchase 4 for 10 body wash use two b1g1 coupons from paper and use $2 up reward from soda and you end up paying $3 for 4 body washes….if you have a 3 off fifteen from survey you can use that too and only pay out of pocket tax for the body wash Sweet!

  21. jata

My Rite Aid told me that I can no longer use the B1G1 free on B1G1 free also. I went to their coupon policy tonight and it’s still the old revision from 8/2010.

  22. kristie

Has anyone received more than 2 ww’s since Eric stated the limit has been raised? I purchased bengay at 8 and it did not track and it still says my limit has been reached. I would also like to know if anything would come out of calling Rite Aid. How can I call RA about the $10 up not printing when there is no confirmation from them that the limit has been raised?

  23. alicia

there’s a $2/1 in the 3/13 rp if you didn’t get the coupon in this week’s paper

  24. h2h2

I checked the weekly ad in several different states and did not find the $2.00 in-ad coupon. I read all the comments and no one responded on how to take advantage of this great extension if the in-ad coupon is now unavailable. 🙁

  25. diane

    new policy update today ……………..

    • melissa

Yep… Pretty bummed about the change in policy with the BOGO. I wonder why though?

  26. Nancy

Thanks Collin! I did the deal for the WW on Monday and did not get the UPs. I called corporate this morning, and they are mailing me the $10 in UPs. It really was increased and I really should have received the UPs, and the rep on the line was extremely friendly and helpful. I wrote a very nice “contact us” email to them saying how wonderful I think their customer service is. And just now tonight, after this policy update, I also wrote another email – however, somewhat recinding what I wrote this morning. I asked that they please instruct their cashiers, managers, supervisors, etc. to know that this is 4 LIKE coupons, not four coupons total. I also reminded them (nicely) that there are other drug stores if they continue to “downsize” on their coupon acceptance.
I also agree that much of what is being done is (no) thanks to the TLC show, which isn’t even a representation of what REAL couponers do. We’ll have to see how all this plays out. Keeping my fingers crossed that I’m able to score a free chocolate bar at least once a month 😉

  27. Adina

Sorry for the ignorance, but could someone explain to me what “weekend warriors” is?
