Wow! Check out the email and picture above that I recently received from reader, Brook…

I went to Walmart today where they were marking down children’s clothes between $1-$3.00. I purchased $315.00 worth of clothing for $36.00, with my greatest find being a 12 pack of girls panties for $1.00!!

So, how about you?! Have you scored any great clearance finds at Walmart lately?! (…And please keep in mind that clearance prices do vary from store to store.)

(Thanks, Brook!)

I think that’s awesome!! What a deal!!! Can’t wait to check out my Walmart – even though they grumble at me when I try to use my coupons!! Ha 😉

  2. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

  3. Shaina

I found some toddler track pants for $1.00 and some GA Bulldogs 2-piece warm up sets for $1.00 and Toddler sized GA Bulldogs reversible jackets for $3.00

  4. Barbara

I went to Wags yesterday and bought 37 bottles of GOOD wine ($12 each) for $150. Which is about $4 each. My head does hurt a bit today!

    • Susie

How did you DO that? Tell me your secrets! 🙂

  5. Brandi

2 weeks ago, my Walmart had a lot of onesies and sleepers marked down for a dollar!
Perfect for making my diaper cakes!

  6. nicole

summer dresses… cute ones.. marked down to $1.00 nothing in big girls yet:(

    • Amber R.

My store is the exact opposite tons of big girls stuff on clearance and no toddler or infant clearance yet 🙁

  7. Mary

Awesome!! I love when Walmart does this with the clothes! I am just making out my list right now for Walmart and now I will be sure to check through the clothing as well! Thanks for sharing 🙂

  8. Angelina

I went to Walmart yesterday and found Jell-o Tempations pudding mixes on clearance for 1.74…I had two $1.00 coupons, so I was excited to only spend .74 on them…when they were rung up, they were really only $1.00, so I got them for free!

(here comes a big, whiny complaint…)
while I applaud the person who scored all these great deals for a little girl – I truly wish it was easier to find boy clothes but for a teen.
Its so easy to find little kid clothes for next to nothing, but when it comes to finding boy clothes that are cute – not walmart style w/ monster trucks on them or something like that – its next to impossible most of the time.
Sure here and there I can score some great finds a Old Navy but nothing like that above posts finds.
    *sigh*
    I’m done.

    • Laura

Same for tween/teen girls! Even the stuff at Old Navy is too short and boxy for my girls! It used to be so easy when they were little haha…

    • momof2boys17

Stores lack in the boys department in general. That’s always been one of my biggest complaints having two boys. I would go shopping and find these giant sections for girls clothing and one to two racks for boys- from birth till now, I just dont find the greatest clothes- no matter what store I shop at. If I ever hit it big- that is going to be what Im doing – opening a BOYS clothing store! lol

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I 100% agree. There just isn’t as many cute things for boys. My oldest two are girls and it never crossed my mind until I had twin boys. Clothes shopping for the boys isn’t nearly as fun.

And shopping for tweens/teens is harder because now you have to worry about the fit as well as a style they like. lol

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I agree. I have a 6 (almost 7) year old son and while some stores have larger sections (target usually does).. I still find it hard to find much of anything that fits him. He is big for 6-7, so the smaller sizes are too small, but when i go to the “big boys” in a size 8-10, they are too big! When I find something that fits, we usually buy multiple in different colors. The girls areas have tons of clothing and styles.. the boys have 1 style of shorts in 5 different colors.. but if they don’t fit, we are out of luck.. doesnt make sense to me. He always ends up with more shirts than shorts.. and when we find shorts to fit him, they are always too long.. i mean, why are boy’s shorts long as capris now?! they are practically pants.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Not sure where you are from so don’t know what stores you have to pick from but I seem to have good luck hitting clearance sales in store and online with Kohls and JCPenney. I have good luck at Kmart to but the quality and selection is not as good.

      • patti

yes, I agree. I also have 3 boys and then my baby girl. Finding boys clothes is so hard. So when I shop for my daughter I”m completely in heaven! However, I do have fairly decent luck at Kohls and JCP, seems the be the only two places i have any such luck for my boys and if you go after season, like at the end of summer or close to end, they usually have super clearance and you can buy for the next summer! That is how i shop most of the time for all my kids, one year in advance.

    • Laura C

My boys are 9 and 7 (and I have a little girl too, so yes I can commiserate), but I think I’ve still done pretty well finding lots of good bargains for them. The key for me has been to regularly look (no “back to school shopping” or “summer shopping” for me) and buy far in advance – as long as it’s a bigger size, good quality, and a good deal, I will buy it ahead. I can afford to “miss” here and there given that I pay so little for things (and usually younger brother will wear it if older won’d).

I use a combination of thrift stores (e.g. from Goodwill, I just found 2 pairs of Columbia brand hiking pants for $2 in size 12 and I’ve got a stockpile that I’ve accumulated of the next 4 sizes of rainboots that they can wear @ $1.50 apiece – I’m really picky about what I’ll buy, but you can find nice stuff in good shape if you’re willing to check in regularly and dig through stuff, and no I don’t live in a particularly wealthy area or anything), consignment sales (these were better when they were younger, harder to find bigger sizes, but I still find things occasionally, like dress clothes and dress shoes), and bargain shopping in-store and on-line – in fact I just found nice Champion track pants for $2.50 in size 10 and 2 t-shirts at $3 at Target the other day. All these items are too big for my boys now, but they will eventually fit them! It probably helps that my oldest son has a fairly clear established notion of what he does and doesn’t like to wear that I can work with. And I did get the nod of approval when I showed oldest the t-shirts 🙂

      • Karen

I used to buy ahead for my two sons as well (and was really good at it!), but was not prepared for my son to reject what we bought for him when he was in 7th grade. He developed his own style and he wanted to fit in with his peers, so now we help him budget his money for what he thinks is important to wear. I’m happy that he is now becoming a discerning buyer! I’m so proud of him for not putting his money toward the brand names and waiting for sales, coupons, birthdays, etc. Anyway, just be careful you don’t buy too far ahead!

    • Joy

As a Mom of three boys who are 9 (twins) and 12, I feel you pain. And no it’s not a big whiny complaint either. 😉 Don’t even get me started on how hard it is to find comfortable non-denim pants for boys that don’t have annoying adjustable waistbands. Or, pants and shorts that snap and don’t button. Hello, boys don’t like fussing with buttons!?! And why does everything for boys have skulls on it? Who designs this stuff for boys anyway?

That said, I did score some Yankee long sleeve Ts for $3 last month at Walmart (one was a 3 piece layer one for the boy who doesn’t like long sleeves). And a couple of months ago I found some long sleeve Lego Star Wars shirts for $1 at Walmart. Whenever I’m in Walmart, Target, Kohl’s, SEARs, etc. I always look in clearance for boys. Even if I’m not in the store to buy something for them in particular, I look anyway.

      • Amy

“And why does everything for boys have skulls on it?”
        LOL, I SOOOO agree!!

      • A

I agree with the skulls comment. I needed a white rashguard, and the only one at Target had a red skull on it!!!

      • Cathy BB

LOL – the skulls! A-men! Oh that is one trend I am so ready to see leave. It’s all over stuff in the girls’ section, too. Tee hee – it really made my day to see that. =)

But about the adjustable waistbands… my boys NEED them. Maybe you and I should just trade kids’ pants! 😉

    • Sarah

I totally agree that boys are harder to shop for!! Stores just don’t have as much cute stuff for boys, but LOADS of stuff for little girls. I have 2 boys (22 months old and 4 months old), and finding cute dress clothes for them in next to impossible. Dresses for girls are EVERYWHERE, but dress clothes for boys, NOTHING!! Thankfully my husband and I both have cousins that have boys that are older than ours, so we get lots of hand-me-down playclothes and the occassional set of dress clothes. (I have had some luck finding some dress clothes for them on clearance at Kohls and when I can go to the outlet mall near my parents house.)

    • Ashley

Gap and Old Navy (mixture of outlet and regular)… Patience, planning ahead, and having a store card helps me outfit my boys (toddler) and my nephews (teens/tweens) with NICE shirts for around 2.50 and jeans between $5-8. I think it’s easier to find girls deals at the regular store, but I find more boys deals at the outlet, especially Gap! Girls will be picked over, but they always have racks and racks of boys clearance at my outlet. Be sure to sign up for regular and outlet emails to get all the coupons and extra sale codes.

  10. Nicole

I was able to pick up a few 5T t shirts on Saturday for a $1 each to 2 Texas Longhorn shirts for a $1 at Walmart. Bought 5 shirts & spent $5, cheaper than a thrift store!!

  11. NYCSingleMom

Impressive – Darn, I was finally near a Wal-Mart over the weekend. Oh well, will check it out in a couple of weeks. But will have to buy ahead for next year. I am completely stocked for the summer.

    https://www.nycsinglemom.com

  12. Rachel

our walmart has a whole isle full of clearance and they just keep putting new stuff out there. i love it, i go once a week to check it out, i have gotten so many items for $1 and $2. last night i got underwear for myself for $.75 each!

  13. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I found a pair of women’s skinny jeans for $3.00! I also found a beautiful gray knit sweater for $3.00. All their fall/winter stuff was dramatically marked down.

  14. Melanie

I found packs of 2 uniform shirts for my kids for next school year for $1! You can’t buy shirts for .50 at a yard sale!

    • Bonnie

I found those too! What a super deal. The girls shirts are cute with a little feminine gathering at the top of the sleeve. I bought enough to get my girls through until they are teens. They are 3 and 6 now, but are in private school where the shirts need to be modest, so these are perfect. They also extend the life of summer dresses quite nicely when put underneath!

  15. Tonya

Great score! I picked up a lot of long sleeve shirts for my daughter that were on clearance for $3 and plan to make them into short sleeves since the short sleeve shirts were more money. Since jersey knit doesn’t fray or unravel, you can cut the sleeves and it will roll a little for a no sew solution or you can zigzag it on your sewing machine to give it what is called a lettuce edge. Love getting a bargain! Congrats on your stash!

    • Laura

I wish I could sew – I love the “lettuce edge” look! What a great idea!

  16. megan

i have been picking up some nice clothes from walmart for a buck a piece, and they have a ton of gerber stuff at my walmart for only 3.94, with the 2.00 facebook coupon, they come out to 1.94 which i ususally use my overage to stock up on many diff sizes, colors, styles of gerber clothing and bedding to use for gifts for future baby showers. i love giving gifts to new moms, but am extremely low on money. got several for my own baby as well.

  17. Heidi Zapolski

I was able to get two long sleeved t-shirts for me and a super cute sweater for my son for this coming fall/winter for $1.50 total!! I was looking at their clearance which was marked down to a dollar when they came up and marked it all down again to 50 cents. I wish they had more items in my family’s sizes or I would’ve bought more.

  18. Eve

My store NEVER does this. $4-5 bux is as good as it gets. I read these posts (thanks guys) and make a trip to Walliemart to find that my store doesn’t mark down this well…My sister’s store does but not close enuf for me.

  19. Amy R

I got $70 Better Home & Garden wooden bar stools for $10 each! and $129 Rock Star Wii game for $10!

  20. Sheila

found some cute faded glory onesies and pants but I”m returning the onesies since BRU had a b1g1 sale on the Gerber 5 packs that were marked down to $6.xx so $6.xx for 10 cute oneises are hard to beat. Got several packs for size 12months-24months since they do run small.

  21. Judith

there is a Just My Size $5 Coupon in the May All You magazine. if you find JMS on Clearance you can get a great Deal or even Overage!

    • Jessica

The Walmart by me has the JMS tank tops for $5.00 regular price so I got 2 for free.

      • Bonnie

I found a bunch of long sleeved shirts marked down to $1, so I enjoyed the $4 overage!

  22. Ann Dee

Wow! That is great! Which WalMart do you shop at? Utah is pretty picked over with so many large families with kids. Oh well…(o:

  23. Diane

About 3 weeks ago at our Walmart I scored a $150.00 BUNN commercial style coffee maker for only $37.50!!…………And I’ve also gotten lots of childrens & babies clothes for as little as 50 cents!…………..LOVE Walmart!

  24. Tara

Why are there always good deals when money is tight? Hope I can get better at budgeting so if it happens again I can be prepared. Love hearing about other people’s finds though!

  25. Kimberly Harris

Went to Target yesterday and did a price match with the Toys-r-us ad for the buy one get one free kids cloths clearance. Targets clearance prices are 1.00- 6.00 so some sweet deals was found.

    • meryl

love it- thx for the deal idea!

    • Cathy BB

I never would have thought of that! Did they do it with no trouble or grumbling?!?!?! WOW!

  26. Sara Hill

I found clearance baby stuff at my New Port Richey, FL Walmart this morning thanks to this post!! Garanimals 0-18 months stuff was on a table near the electronics area and alot of their stuff was $1-$2.00…score! Plenty of girls stuff too in sizes larger than infant.

  27. Ashley

Walmart had a blacked striped Corelle 16 piece set on clearance for just $15, the regular white set for $20, and a modern square plates set with flowers on it for $27 (which is still an excellent deal because the square plate sets are regularly $40-$60 while the circular plate sets start at $25). Plus you can use the $5.00 off printable coupon that was available awhile back (only valid on SQUARE sets) and get the square set for just $22!

  28. Megan♥

My WM didn’t have this deal but my mom’s did and she brought us a trash bag full of assorted clothing. What a great deal!

  29. Anna Beck

Our Walmart had this deal too!I I got stocked up in all sizes for my little boy and got him 4 complete Sunday outfits (shirt, vest and pants), 2 sweat suits (pants, zip-up hoodie and a shirt), and 3 shirts and 3 pants all for ten dollars! Sweetness!

    • Sheila

      WOW!!!

  30. Laura Larsen

my WM never clearances below $4-5. I live in Austin, TX..anyone know one that does near here? what gives? 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Try other areas that have fewer families and more older people. I have 2 walmarts 10 miles apart and one had dresses for $1 and the other had the exact same dresses for $5.

  31. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

These are great prices for donations to the tornado victims.

  32. Kristin

I scored size 6 Garanimal little boy shoes for 0.50 cents at our local Wal-Mart!

  33. Brook G.

Thanks everyone for the compliments on my “score”. I have 8 yr old twins & a 5 yr old, all girls as you can tell, so finding deals like these are HUGE for me. I purchased things for summer, back to school, birthday & Christmas presents. It’s very unusual for our WalMart to do this but glad to see that others are finding such great deals as well! Def going to go back & check out some of the other deals that were mentioned. Thanks again & hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

  34. Jamie H.

I went to Walmart (I live in Utah) about a week ago and bought a JMS t-shirt that was on clearance for $1. I had the $5/1 coupon from the All You mag, so I made 4 bucks! Pretty awesome…and the best is that Walmart actually gives you change. The cashier was new and couldn’t believe it! Woo hoo! I didn’t need the shirt, but gave it away 🙂

  35. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

They are remodeling a local Walmart, so they had a ton of clearance items. I found a Leapster Batman game for $1.00!! As for clothes I have 2 boys and I never have any luck at Walmart for them 🙁

  36. Niki

I never see deals like this at the Walmart in my town, a densly populated immigrant town. But, a lady from my church lives in the expensve retirement community up the highway. Because there are no kids in that area the kids clothes and toys are always on clearance in the 1-3 dollar range. Check around with other folks to see if their neighborhood Walmart has better deals.
Wlamart scrupulously watches their inventory and sales store by store.

  37. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

lol….i agree w/ all of you about not being able to find cute boys clothes on clearance! I have 3 boys and its very frustrating especially as they get older. And yeah whats w/ the skulls? Did they ran of creativity in designing clothes? The skulls just reminds me of poison or something negative…..geez………….

    • Cathy BB

LOL my kids say that, too: “Isn’t that the poison sign?” =) Cannot tell you how happy I am to see I’m not the only one!

  38. Lara

I willbe going to Walmart this afternoon thanks to all these deals mentioned above. I sure hope my Walmart has clearance items as well. I have 9 month old twin boys, a 3 year old boy and 5 year old daughter. I need to shop ahead.

  39. Anne

I’ve been to Walmart twice to check out their clearance. I got 3 piece Disney track suits (Jacket, T-Shirt and pants) for my boys for $1, they were marked $9. I ended up getting approximately 25 clothing items for about $10. All of the clearance items were tagged at $9 but were ringing up $1-$3. My boys are set for the winter.

  40. Cathy BB

Brook and Collin, thanks so much for sharing this. I love hearing about these deals! My Walmart occasionally has the $1 sales too – last summer it was shoes and this spring they had racks and racks of clothes for $1. My best score was school polos (my kids wear uniforms) in a 2-pack for $1!!!! I stocked up and even bought some for friends who I knew needed some, too.

Now I just wish I knew when the next sale was coming! =)
