Woo! What a great coupon. Thank you for sharing!

  2. Deb

    Hmmm…must give this a little thought 🙂

  3. Ashley

wow! that is awesome! I’ll print one for me and one for my grandma (i visit her every weekend and we go deal shopping 🙂 ) my mom says we are both cheapskates 😉

    • Amy

      You’re not cheapskates—you’re SMART!!!

  4. Pinky

Do you just print the page?

    • Julia

I pasted it into a word file so I didn’t have to print the whole page

  5. wendy

    WOO HOO!!

  6. jill

    thanks!

    • Suszy

Woohoo!!! Thanks for the scenario! Also, thanks Collin (hope you never get tired of hearing that because I don’t think I can stop!) 🙂

  7. Deb @ Frugal Living And Having Fun

You can get FREE Paper with the current rebate deal going on.

    It look like this:
Here is how to get FREE Paper:

    Staples 8.5′ x1″ Copy Paper – 500 Sheets/Ream – $5.99
    Earn $3 Easy Rebate
    $2.99 after Rebate
    Use $3/3 or more
    FREE!!

    VALID 6/7 ~ 6/11

    • Angie

There is a stipulation that it can’t be used on things where other savings apply – would you still be able to use it on this?

      • Deb @ Frugal Living And Having Fun

I have always used coupons for the FREE Paper. You will know if it does not apply if your rebate form does not print out. If your rebate form prints out, you are set to go.

If your rebate form does not print out. Cancel the transaction, and ask for your coupon back and buy something $3 and under to maximize your savings.

      • Dayna

The stipulation I read is: “Which no other coupon or instant savings offer applies”. Easy Rebate doesn’t = instant savings or a coupon, right? It’s a rebate….so I think it should work! woohoo!!!

        • Deb @ Frugal Living And Having Fun

Right, an instant savings is different than a coupon. 😉

      • Suszy

IMHO – you should be able to use it because it’s a rebate on the paper, not an instant savings, but I am going today so I will post back and say if it worked 🙂

        • Dee

In many instances, the cost of the coupon will be deducted from the rebate. This has happened to me when I purchased items with an easy rebate and used a coupon. It’s in the easy rebate fine print.

    • Julia

It says can’t be used with other “instant savings”

  8. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I sometimes have a problem with things like this. It sure seems like it was intended for a certain person, not mass distributation. Esp. Since it says to Federal Government customers in the top corner.

    • Collin

      Hi Susan,

This is a legit coupon… it’s actually advertised in the weekly ad and on the Staples Facebook page. If you go the Staples Facebook page and click on the “Weekly Ad” tab (left side), you will be able to see the $3 off any purchase coupon. Hope that helps! 🙂

      https://www.facebook.com/staples?sk=app_114435945256632

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thank you for being so through. I just hate to take advantage of stores. You are the best!!!!!

    • Kathy

I just received the same coupon directly from Staples in an email, so I think you are totally good to go with this one. Woo-hoo!

    • Zack

      I’m a Federal Government customer, I pay taxes! 🙂

  9. Melissa

I got a link in my email that takes me to my weekly ad. To the left is a red box with the link to a coupon. It looks different than the one above (still for $3 off but has coupon code 97199). I know the coupon above is off the Staples facebook page. I guess my question is, can I use both in different transactions?

  10. Pamela

Same question as Melissa ask and wonder if we could use in different transcations? If we can do that, that will be great for me to stock up back to school supplies and donate the extras to my son’s school. 🙂 Thanks for head up on this great coupon!

  11. Diane

of COURSE they have to say “no” to HP Ink!!! the only thing i really need! 🙁 boooo! lol
    still a good coupon though!

    • Dee

Staples still has a great HP Ink deal now with 20% back in rewards and $4 per cartridge when you recycle empties the same day you purchase.

      • Shannon

Exactly the reason why I have a Canon printer! Got tired of always being excluded from these coupon deals! I love my Canon!

  12. Heather

off subject, i got the free card from cardstore.com to work just now.

  13. STEPHANIE

I printed mine out and it has the code 97199 as well…

    • Michelle

It looks like the one on Staples FB is the 62898 code, while the one linked to their website online weekly ad is the 97199 code.

  14. Kelley

Perfect!!! I leave for a mission trip to Kenya to build and stock a school with school supplies. This is the perfect FREE jump start 😉

***Does anyone know of a way to stock up on SUPER cheap school supplies?

Thanks in advance ladies. So glad to have a “coupon family” You all make me smile 😉

    • Becky

When do you leave, Kelley, and what kind of stuff do you need? I can check my stash for you (my cousin taught in Kenya for a couple of years, so it’s near and dear to me!)…There are really good school supplies deals around August, but that may be too late for you. Let me know! 🙂

      • Kelley

We are not actually leaving until May of next year…so i have quite awhile, but i figure its never to early to stalk up. 🙂 My heart has been in Kenya for years now…although I have never been. I can hardly wait! It is a group of college students (21-25) that are going. We were each asked to choose a “prjoect” to work on and take over. My project is pillow case dresses. I will be making 150 pillow case dresses. Yikes!! 🙂 We will be taking everything from pencils, to crayons, paper, tooth brushes, paints, ect!

Thank you for your kind heart Becky 🙂 Be Blessed!!!!

        • Becky

Very cool! Then you do have time to get in on the deals that will no doubt pop up around August and September. Please email me your address (rmhermann@gmail.com)–I would love to donate to your group!

        • Jessica

Pillow case dresses? I think I may have seen those before…. Do you already have all the pillow cases you need? It sounds like you all are doing a great thing good luck, Kelly!! =)

    • Mo

I would start keeping your eyes peeled/check in on here regularly if you don’t. I know that our Target here in No CO is getting ready to start setting their back to school stuff (yes, at the beginning of June) and I know once school supplies started to come out at stores that Collin had several deals on here for free or very cheap supplies. HTH!

    • KDS

Walmart had some school supplies on clearance a couple of weeks ago. It might not be anything you are interested in but it’s worth checking out! 🙂 They had notebooks, folders, gem clips, etc… on sale in Georgia. 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You girls are amazing 😉

I have not gotten all of the pillow case dresses yet. I have about 40 right now. I live in Indiana and so far I have not seen any supplies yet. I did however, just run to Staples on my lunch and I got 32 No. 2 pencils for 1.07. Thank you guys for all of the kind words. Usually being so young we are frowned upon. Its nice to know that so many really are willing to support us!!

      • Niki

If you’ve got until next May, then I suggest waiting until the end of “Back to School” sales. At our local target I got boxes of crayons, glue, notebooks, and scissors for 10-25 cents! CENTS!!!

      • lynneweeks

Hi. I plan service crafts for my mothers of preschoolers group and we would love to help you make some pillow case dresses. Please contact me and we can talk about us making some of the dresses for you. I am certain my moms would really like to help with this and would love impacting lives in kenya.
        Thanks,
        Lynne lynneweeks@yahoo.com

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

When you get all your pillow case dresses made you should send a pic to Collin for her to post would love to see them all!! =)))))))

  15. Missie B.

Actually, the one on the facebook page has the same 97199 code. I am not sure about the one listed in the description with the 62898 code. Can you please help explain Collin?

    • Michelle

To me it looks like the one on Staples FB is the 62898 code, while the one linked to their website online weekly ad is the 97199 code. It’s probably just to track and see if it’s more popular on FB or on their website…?

  16. Erin

This is awesome! Thanks so much!

  17. Jennifer

Fun! I printed one for me and one for my neighbor. We both got $10 off $10 from JCP in the mail yesterday so I am going to take her on a freebie shopping trip this week! She is on a fixed income and learning to score the deals. I fill her mailbox with freebies which she really enjoys. It’s fun to share the savings with others! 🙂

    • Kelley

What a kind heart 🙂 this makes me smile!

  18. Brianna

You can score free tape this week without using this coupon (using Scotch coupons). So save this coupon for other free things, not tape! 😉

    • deb

Wow-last thing for the office was the cases of invisible tape a few weeks ago for $1. something! Did everyone receive theirs? We sure did! LOL

  19. Wendy

So anybody have any input on whether the two different codes can be used at the same time?

  20. GrocerryMom

So Q for scotch tapes is $1 I guess & they are on sale for 0.99 cents, can I still use the Q???? never done Q shopping at staples, so please help & can I use more then one tape Q in one transaction.

    • Brianna

I went yesterday and purchased 3 tapes using 3 $1/1 coupons, in the same transaction, and only paid tax. Cashier was more than happy accepting my coupons, I hope you have a similar experience!

    • Mo

Ours are on sale for $1 – normally $1.99 – so you save $0.99 – hopefully this is the same case at your store!

  21. Mysterious

    Collin-
I’m also wondering if you can use this coupon many times if you are doing separate transactions. It might just depend on each store? It seems like they wouldn’t let you keep using it because one person could clean out the entire store of all $3 items. I’m still wondering though.

    Thanks!

    Me

    • coupon_chicas

I went today and used 9 coupons in 9 different transactions, I got a few things I neeeded and didn’t empty the store…..the things I got were 1 pack of purified pure water $2.99, 1 tub of glass wipes from the dollar section, 1 Ajax dish soap 34 oz $ 1.99, 1 soft soap 7.5 oz $1.59, 1 box of bags sandwich zipper seal $1.00, 1 box of 100 tablespoons $2.79, i1 box of gallon freezer storage bags $1.00, 1 box of 30 gallon trash bags $1.00, 1 glass cleaner bottle 22 oz $1.00, 5 hand soaps from the dollar section, 1 three pk pink containers $2.00, 1 blue pk round containers $2.00, 1 mini 8pk containers $2.00, 1 6 pk of facial tissues $1.00, and 1 dust microfiber duster $1.00!!!! my out of pocket expense $2.48!!!! not bad ….and again didn’t clean out the store, the associate that handle my transactions didn’t have any problem and was very nice and patient with my purchases!!!!

      • jami

My Staples as of this am has posted everywhere that the coupon reading is in error: should have disclaimer of 1 per person per day. I was still able to do 6 transactions today as it was not posted when I first got there and since I did 4 orders yesterday the store manager said to let it go today. I told her I would know then for the rest of the week….2 tomorrow with my 5 y/o!!

    • Erica

I read the fine print and it doesn’t say anything about one per customer. I have a Staples on my way home from work so I figure I’ll just drop in everyday until the coupon expires and get $3 worth of stuff. I’ll probably only make 5 transactions and in my experience, Staples is usually very well stocked on the inexpensive things since that’s what businesses go through the most.

  22. Rebekah

at first mine printed with the wrong location at top so I redid it with my location. Now I have two. Can I use both?

  23. LaTonya

    Thanks Collin,

I just got a case of water for .99. I need it for Vacation Bible School. Every little bit helps!

  24. Wendy

I have to get more printer ink, sadly HP, but was planning on going this week and returning a few empties. What I’m wondering is, can I use both the $3 off coupons with different codes to also purchase $6 of something else or can I only use 1 of them for the transaction??

  25. Tara

Just wanted to let you guys know that even though I don’t have a Staples in my town I was able to use the coupon at Office Max because they accept competitor’s coupons. : )

    • Sheila

Do all Office Max, accept compet. Qs?

      • Brittany

Thank you for posting that Tara! I just called my store to make sure and they do 🙂 I wasn’t sure if it would be a YMMV sort of thing because I couldn’t find a policy online. I also called Office Depot since it’s close to our house, and they do as well. I’m happy I can use the coupon now! I wasn’t going to drive across town to Staples with gas being so high.

    • Amy

I went to Office Max and took my son so he could be his own customer. The cashier would only let me use one coupon. Phooey on them! I just picked up 2 boxes of Puff”s facial tissues and paid .62 total including tax. The good news is that Staples selection was a lot better and they are close by as well.

  26. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How do you print the coupon?

    • Michelle

You print the whole page, there is no specific coupon extra link. Hope this helps!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

        Thanks!!!

  27. Valerie

Just did a quick Staples run. 2 scotch tapes and 3 nice kitchen hand towels. All FREE. Used the scotch tape coupons and $3 off $3.

  28. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hey guys! So I just want to be clear, we can’t use any coupons for the item we’re using for $3 off $3 coupon–e.g. that HP coupon for paper from coupons.com…

  29. jmartcougar

Just printed mine didn’t realize it was a whole page lol

  30. Brianna

FYI- Just got back from Staples and multiple coupons have to be in seperate transactions. Just picked up some cheap school supplies for the teacher!

  31. jESSICA

hey you guys, I am a teacher and I just printed this out for all of my co-teachers and it worked grrrrrreat!!!!!! man I love coupons!!!! going back for a couple more things tonight!!!!! love this site!!!!! THANKS COLLIN!!

  32. margaret in seattle

how can we print the $3 coupon from facebook? i can’t find the print bottom

  33. ali

It looks like the one coded with 97199 says limit one per customer per day, but the one with 62898 doesn’t say anything about it. Soooo, since my Staples is really close, I think my hubby and I can each go once a day for the next 5 days…that is $30 worth of free stuff! Am I reading this wrong or something? And what about the 62898 that doesn’t list a restriction…it would be a lot easier to just do a few different transactions than to have to keep coming back every day. Thoughts?

    • guest

I went to Staples tonight with 1 from the site and one from Facebook (both different offer codes). The manager at my local Staples was rather rude. He wouldn’t even let me use my legitimate Scotch tape coupons that I printed. He told me that it wasn’t for the right tape (which I knew wasn’t the case because it says any scotch tape). He told me I was only allowed to use 1 for the entire week. I told him how they were both different codes. Then he said that it’s the same coupon. He made some statement that corporate released a memo informing people not to take the tape coupon followed by a statement about the $3 off coupon. I think he was just giving me the run around and I was rather annoyed because he already assumed that I had a $3 off coupon without even asking me.

  34. Rebekah

They have 2 packs of Kleenex (200 ct ea box x 2) at our Staples for 2.99! one penny shy of the coupon requirement, but I got some paperclips. It’s a great deal!

  35. Shelly

Please be courteous to others while using this coupon. Some woman tried to use 40, yes you read that right – 40, of these coupons at my store just after it came out today. Consequently, the store put up a sign to limit the coupon to one per person. One bad egg can spoil things for everyone very quickly. I am sure it was an oversight on the store’s part to not state on the coupon that it was one per person.

    • Wendy

That’s so sad that someone would act that way. Of course, you would think by now companies would know that they have to put limits on a coupon or it will be abused by a few. I can’t imagine standing at the register asking the cashier to ring up 40 separate transactions! I hope they don’t pull the coupon completely.

      • guest

I agree. Here I was trying to use 1 of each of the codes and was already getting a hard time. If they don’t want people to use both codes or use it more than once during the course of the week, they ought to just limit and make the code specific instead of generic. I just don’t understand. I don’t support people doing 40 transactions. That’s just ridiculous. Then there’s folks like me who is trying to do things right and I get labeled. The extreme couponing show isn’t helping either.

  36. Kate Miller

Was able to get a 12 pk. of pens for $2 and a notebook off the $1 rack for free!! Thanks Hip2save

  37. Doa

I went to Staples and got some packing tape, we actually found a scotch tape coupon for $1 off and ended up spending $4.99 +tax, for $8.99 tape!!

  38. jennifer

too fun! I just got 3 notebooks (two w/ pens) for 11 cents! Awesome to go with teacher gifts….I think I may go back.

  39. Mo

I’m hoping to wrap up my kiddos supplies for Kindergarten in the fall. Between the dollardays.com deal, some things we already had around the house, and this coupon, we should be good to go. The only thing I had a hard time with at the store was trying to keep it as close to $3 as possible (I’m uber cheap, I know LOL). The two items I need end in 0.49 – so then I’m not seeing a whole lot, even in clearance, that I can make USE of that will get me to $3 without going like $0.50 or more over. Did anyone find great fillers for this? Even the candy up front is 0.99.

  40. olymama

FYI – They changed the wording on both coupons to one per customer per day.

  41. Nina

had no problems using 2 coupons. did a trans. for dixie forks 100 ct @ 2.79 and filler .50 crystal light packet and trans#2 dixie spoons 100 ct same price and same filler. total OOP @ $ 1.04. going back friday with my kids and let them pick from the learning area.

  42. Roger

Our store posted a sign that said something to the effect of due to an overwhelming response, the limit on these coupons is one per person, per day. Works for me.

    • Wendy

Love the wording “overwhelming response” ……meaning people trying to use 40 coupons at one time and people who think that their 2 year old counts as another paying customer so that they can use 2 coupons etc…..

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I think my 5 year old counts – she handed over her coupon and her item.

  43. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Just bought a case of Deer Park water that retailed for $3.99 at Staples. After using my $3 coupon, I paid just 99 cents! My husband printed a coupon at work and will stop on the way home and grab another case. With the record breaking heat we’re having here (100 degrees), I really value the bargain!

  44. valerie

Just wanted to say thanks a million Collin for this coupon!! You do an excellent job!! Got alot of nice stuff for free!

  45. Sharon Stone

Thank You So Much! Great Coupon. I went today and bought the paper towels. Great Deal!!!
