Went with my Sis tonite to CVS for Gas Card deals,bought all products Spent $30.82 and gas card didnt print off. I asked cahsier about it we went over recipt and everything was right. She was as bumfuzzled as i was so she called manager and i will take recipt up there in am so she can call corprate about it , Manager said they Had that happen a few times earlier today to. They were all very nice about it and im sure they will fix it.

I had the John frieda deal buy 20 and get 10 ecb and it didn’t print. I asked the manager and he just went into account and printed the ecb for me.. It’s rare to find a manager that understands and knows what to do.

Just wanted to report a great trip to CVS, where everything I bought was either something would have bought at the grocery store down the street, or FREE. I don’t aim to grow a stock pile with the couponing I do…just reign in our grocery/household spending while my husband goes to grad school! Last week, my husband tells me he’s out of razor blades. Of course, he waits until the last minute to tell me this. He only uses Shick titanium razor blades. So I did that crazy ECB deal on Shick/skintimate and ended up spending $8 OOP for a 4 pack of schick razor blades (reg price $12.49) plus 4 varieties of shaving cream/creame shave/shave gel. I then went to another CVS on another day and used those 10 ECBs to pick up Renu contact solution, the Kotex tampons and the bic pens, used the 10ECBs and $1.12 OOP, got $9.99 back in ECB.
This week, I used my $9.99 ECB from last week’s deal plus the $5/$25 in my email to get 2 dozen eggs, a gallon of milk, 2 rolls of scotch packing tape (all of this was on my shopping list anyway), 2 skinny cow bars, and another pack of schick razors (this one was also a 4 pack but had 2 bonus razors). Total OOP on that trip was $8, plus 3 back in ECB (I also use the Green Bag Tag).
So, in three transactions, I spent $17.10 to get ALL that stuff, and have 3 ECBs left for my next adventure…and the sticker price on 2 packs of Schick razors is $24.98 ($12.49 x2). Not to mention the eggs, milk, and tape that I would have had to buy anyway, bringing my “would-have-spent” total way over $30…that’s what we had been paying until I started all this couponing, so I’m super psyched to both save over 50% OOP and get a whole bunch of freebies!!
I couldn’t have done it without this site!! Thanks, guys, for all your help and comments. DH was so impressed that we made a deal that as long as I can track how much I save on stuff we actually need and would have bought anyway, we’ll apply 50% of the savings to a newly created “post grad school vacation fund” to celebrate thriftiness!

I have a question about combining coupons. I have a coupon for a free Swiffer refill with the purchase of a starter kit and I also have a coupon for $1 off a starter kit. Does anyone know if both will be accepted since they are discounting different items? Just wanted to know before I went to the store. Thanks!

This issue came up months ago. Collin will no longer promote the use of both of those coupons together. Some people are fine with using both and some people think it is wrong. YMMV at the store you’re using it at.

I would normally say CVS allows it, but I’ve had inconsistent results recently. I’m hearing rumblings that CVS is changing their cpn policy and will no longer allow a $$ off w/ a BOGO and will not allow 2 cpns on a BOGO sale, but I’ve heard nothing officially from CVS. I wish they would address this, I try to follow the policy, but when they don’t give us one..
BTW, I’d decide ahead of time whether you want to pay the price w/out the extra $1, and try it. If they say no, you’ll know whether you want to still buy it or you want to politely ask them to remove the items.

In June I submitted the Renpure shampoo “Try ME Free” rebate from the hangtag on the bottle. Today, I got a post card saying it was denied because it was “void with all other offers including coupons and store reward programs.” My receipt clearly shows 1 coupon toward a candy bar and 2 CVS ECB from a previous transaction. None of the three were tied to this shampoo. I’m confused, and therefore wrote a complaint letter. Anyone else get the same raw deal?

Do you need to spend $30 on gas card qualifying purchases and use $5 coupon or do I have to spend $30 on gas card qualifying purchases and at least $5 more for anything else?

Susan, you just have to spend $30 in qualifying items BEFORE any coupons – that includes the $5/$25 coupon. We’ve waited to get the $5/$25 coupon each week (it usually comes on Thursday) before doing the $30 gas card purchases – makes the deal even better. Good luck!
