Collin, I am not sure if anyone else had this problem…but I went to Wags today. I know better than to go on Sunday if i am not there at the butt crack of dawn (and I don’t get up that early for deals) to go on Tuesday when they restock. So I was fortunate enough to have 4 of the Special K cereal bars on the shelf and bought 4. I tried to use two $1/2 coup and my store would not take it. It would not scan!!! Apparently it has to have the smaller barcode for the register to take it, this one does not. The cashier also tried to type in the numbers. Now if it had been my favorite cashier (where was she anyways???) she would have manually done it for me. So I walked out still with my cereal bars and still a good deal but not a great deal. I emailed Wags and told them my problem. What are the odds that I will get a response to the problem? I really do enjoy shopping there but have never had a problem like this before.

Hey I work at walgreens lol…did they have new scanners by chance we got news one and they suck big time we most of the time have type the bar code in but if it is for that product and it still wont take we punch it in we hate to punch it in cost the store does not get full credit…thats what i was told.

I know what you are talking about because there was a couppon before that was posted but did not have that smaller barcode as well! I guess its not valid without it but my store manually entered it in.

Okay, here is the deal! I have talked to an asst manager at the local store, customer service at the 800 number and a store in a local town (that is over my store???) who called the store manager at my store who called me. Yes, my store does take the longer code for scanning and yes the manager should have come up front and overrode the coupon to put it in manually. The asst manager told me that if it doesn’t scan then they can’t take it (not what it says in the coupon policy) but the store manager says that the manager should have come upfront to manually override the coupon and take off my $2. After all of that (and keeping a friendly, non-accusatory tone) I need to go in the store and they will take my $2 in coupons and BONUS: I am getting a $10 gift card. See another reason why I love wags!

Have the cashier fold the coupon in half and the have them scan the first half of the coupon, thats usally works,it always has for me when i scan it,. due to the new scanners

Had to share my “Cereal Steal Deal”!!! I went into walgreens today a little bummed because the only cereal coupons I had was for the Raisin Bran Crunch and of course there were no boxes left. So, I went ahead and got 4 boxes of cereal anyway with NO COUPON
I bought 2 boxes of Special K with berries, 1 box of Frosted Mini Wheats, and 1box of Smart Start. 4 for $10 with a $5 RR not bad. When I got home I noticed that the Smart Start had a Try if for free offer!!! My walgreens receipt rang up the box of cereal at $2.99! So, I got 4 boxes of cereal for $2.01!!! Keep your eyes peeled for those Try Free Kelloggs Smart Start boxes and if you have coupons you can do even better than I did! Happy shopping!

Yes, she tried to punch it in. I am not sure how accuarate since at this point a line started forming behind me. No they are still the same old scanners as far as I can tell and there is generally a problem with getting anything to scan. As of today, still no response from Wags! I hope they reply! I really do like shopping there!

I don’t think it was a misprint. I don’t carry them at my store anymore. We clearanced them all out because they just didn’t sell.. Not every store carries the same things.
