If you’re not a MaxPerk member, no worries…head over here to sign up or sign up at your local OfficeMax store or by calling 1-866-MAXPERKS. The MaxPerks program is open to teachers and businesses. However, ANY one is eligible for a MaxPerk’s business membership…you do NOT have to own a business to choose this option (I did verify this fact and was told by customer service that it was completely fine to sign up for a business membership even as a stay-at-home mom). As I mentioned yesterday, OfficeMax no longer allows you to use MaxPerks Rewards to purchase gift cards….darn!

Can you use rewards to purchase ink?
Jennifer says:
Yes.
Collin says:
Hi Katie!
According to the MaxPerks Rewards terms & conditions, you can use MaxPerks Rewards to purchase any merchandise in retail stores, online or in catalogs except for: computers, gift cards, general-use prepaid cards, phone cards, Sprint service plans, purchases with a Retail ConnectSM pricing, sales tax and purchases made prior to the date of enrollment. So yes, you can purchase ink with the Rewards!
Katie says:
Thank you very much! I was just making sure, as that’s what I buy the most from there!
cynthia says:
How do you get a max perk id? Is there a place to sign up online and does it cost anything? thanks!
Anna m says:
Oh wow we need a new printer! Anyone knOw if this one is any good? What would be the best printer to print my coupons from 3 computers?
Collin says:
Hi Anna!
I am not familiar with this specific printer, but it did receive 5 star reviews from 2 reviewers on the OfficeMax site.
Sharon says:
Personally, I have never liked Lexmark. Just don’t give good performance.
Casey says:
You can join online or in the store and it is free to join. I bought some ink on my first purchase and I received a 10 perks bucks. It really is a great program.
Katie says:
Do the binders not have a limit?
Collin says:
I couldn’t find any sort of limit noted in the fine print?!
Katie says:
I couldn’t either, thanks for your reply Collin!
Karin says:

Do you have to pay s&h?
Collin says:
Spend $50 or more and you’ll snag FREE shipping!
Kara says:
Can someone help me out with this? There is a limit of 6 for mechanical pencils. Does that mean you can only buy 4, get 2 more for free and then get the cost of 4 back in max perks? Or can I buy 6, get 3 for free and get the cost of 6 back in max perks.
Brandy says:
Was just wondering the same thing!
Jamie says:
I think the pencils is 6 total so 4 that you pay for and the 2 free
Anonymous says:
I had checked the fine print and it stated Mechanical Pencils without Grip (items# 21041855 or 21041864), available online only, limit 6, maximum $18.60 Bonus Reward per member; 100% Bonus Reward does not apply to free item. This should mean that you can buy 6 and still get three more for free since the total for nine (6 purchased and 3 free) is $18.60
Bonnie says:
Can anyone sign up for the Max Perks rewards for teachers or do I have to be employed at a school?
Bonnie says:
Oops, one other question, if I purchase these products as a Max Perks member, when will the dollar amounts be returned to me?
Paula says:
Things purchased this week will be returned to you Sept 20th as an office max gift card.
Brandy says:
promo code “FREEPEN1″ takes a $1 off the papermate pens. Only takes one dollar off regardless of the number you buy, but it’s still $1! Must use all caps.
Collin says:
Thanks Brandy! Just updated the post.
kim says:
Having trouble with the cart correctly deducting a Buy2get1 free item.. it charged me for all 3 boxes of pens…..
Anonymous says:
If you get the pencils with the pens, it takes off the pencils instead of the pens. I removed the pencils and the pens worked fine.
Leslie says:
Now you use to be able to buy gift cards with the rewards, is that still true. I use to be able to buy non officemax gift cards. Does anyone know???
Leslie says:
Nevermind my question. I just read my answer in the post.
That Frugal Girl says:
The 1 cent deals etc are not available at my store her in SW Florida
Bama says:
I’ve been waiting for the printer deals to start rolling around. Does anyone know if this printer is good for printing coupons? That is mainly what I print but like most of you I print TONS all the printable ones so I am curious how it handles ink? I have found good reviews but they all talk about scanning not ink!
farmvet says:
On the printer deal, I ordered mine online and received it on Wednesday. Went to the store today to recycle my old printer, and they were clueless how to do the transaction. First, they tried to tell me that I had to spend $199 on a printer to get the $50 back. I told them that the deal was listed with this printer for 159.99 on the front of their website which they did look up and see. I had also printed out one of the pages associated with this printer when I ordered it with the info on recycling. They finally ended up doing an exchange where they “exchanged” the one I ordered and sold me a new one. I was assured that this wouldn’t affect the Max Perks of $70. I don’t know if it will affect ebates – that had already posted, so we’ll see. All in all, it took about 30 minutes.
