I went to Kmart today – the only paper towels for $5.49 was the six roll and the only toilet paper for $5.49 was the 12 roll – there were lots of other Scott products but not at this price. I purchased one paper towel and two toilet paper, used my three $1 off coupons and got the $2 off Catalina!
QUESTION: can you do this deal more than once with the same rewards card??

The instant savings deals just say one per transaction, not one per rewards card, so you should be able to do it more than once.

ohh, watch for the coupon amount, its like walgreens, 1 q per item count! so if you are using q’s for each itme and gonna use the cat, grab the .35 pack of wrigleys as your filler!

thanks for the heads up… looks like a good deal, headed out to try…. also we like to buy our paper products on a sq. ft. basis. there’s so many ways the manufacturer is now trying to trick you with there packaging that it’s hard to tell if you’re really getting a good deal unless you calculate by sq. ft. there’s been a lot of paper product deals lately that are not really that good after looking at the sq ft cost.. vs the cost per roll. just a suggestion for the future. thanks

Does anyone know what to do if the catalina doesn’t print? Like I was at kmart earlier to get some of the other deals and there was red paper sticking out of the catalina machine saying ATTENTION THIS CATALINA IS OFFLINE. im just wondering if I go back to do the deal and it doestn print what my next step should be

Colin, I saw where you posted that 18 cents per Tp roll was a great price. What’s your idea (or anyone else who would like to respond) of a great price per roll for double rolls or do these count for the same ?

Make sure to grab one of the Kmart savings guide inserts when you enter the store because there is a coupon on the front for free items WYB $25+ each week….this week it is a free package of Kraft cheese slices (priced at $2.50). If you do the Scott deal and a few other double coupon deals (nabisco, bogo cat food, floss, etc) it’s easy to get your pre-coupon total to over $25.(excluding the price of the cheese slices). Then scan your rewards card and hand over the Kmart savings coupon for the free cheese FIRST while your total is still over $25 and it will take off the $2.50 instantly, then do all of your other double coupon deals. Works like a charm! If you are already getting the other stuff, you might as well get some free cheese while you are there!

i just got back from kmart. i bought 3 scott paper towels and 3 toilet paper. but i did two transactions and bought the paper towels separate from the toilet paper and i didn’t get the catalina. i wish i saw this first. oh well, i dont shop at kmart too often anyways

what a great deal thanks for posting! i did the the deal a little different and got not only a $2 catalina but ALSO a $3 off my next grocery purchase. i purchased two of the paper towels (6 mega) and 1 bath tissue (1000 sheet/1 ply / 8 roll).used 3($1/1). $0.15 towels/ $0.15 tpaper per roll. i did a second transaction for 2 paper towels (6 mega) and 1 toilet paper(12/double) used 3($1/1) was able to use the $3 and the $2 catalina i received the transaction before and got a $2 catalina. second trans. $0.27 towels/ $0.18 tpaper per roll. did the $3 off your next grocery purchase catalina have a purchase requirement? (i.e. save $3 OYNO of $30 or more) I get those from Kmart occasionally…or was it just simply a $3 OYNO catalina you can use on anything?

it was a coupon that printed at the end of my receipt. i don’t think there was an amount requirement, just that it was $3 off my next “grocery” purchase. i was able to use it on my next purchase and the items i purchased were two papertowel 6 packs, a pack of toilet paper and a few toys.

I purchased Scott towels on the gas deal last week at CVS
When I was putting them away there was a bunch of coupons on Scott products stuck on the inside on one of the paper towel rolls (it was a 6 pack that I bought)

It is rolling. I did this earlier. The cashier looked at me like I was crazy. She tried telling me I could not use the cat for my next purchase, because it came from the same deal. I asked her politely to try it, so she did, and she was amazed that it worked. And I got another $3 cat and paid for oil with it

I tried yesterday & no cat printed {machine was working} so I went to customer service. Customer Service had no idea what I was talking about {I didn’t expect them to}, but when I showed them your post on my smartphone, the manager authorized the rep to give me a $3.00 gift card! Just got back and NO catalina for me. Urg..
Purchased 2 TP and 1 towel and then 1 TP and 2 Towel and nothing printed. I even asked her to check the machine and she said it was fine.
I did clean up on a bunch of boys clearance $2.39 polo type shirts for next year. There was a big selection left.

So I just bought some toilet paper and paper towels…. it worked fine and the $2 cat printed then I went to use it and it wouldn’t let me!!! On ANYTHING in the store! Tried it on my next purchase of Scott products, tried it on gum and candy, tried it on some storage bins, you name it. The manager said I wasn’t purchasing the right things and then he said it was because I was using coupons…. anyone having this problem with the cat not working when you go to use it?

YES!!! I was so frustrated today when handed the cashier my $2 Catalina coupon (to pay for my package of Reynolds Wrap) and they would not take it. The cashier AND THE MANAGER tried to tell me that I could only use the coupon if I bought 2 different SCOTT products (the wording on the side of the coupon that explains how I got the catalina in the first place). I tried to explain that to them, and showed them where the coupon says save $2.00 on your next shopping order, but I was not successful. I may call Kmart corp. office and see what they say.

Totally what happened to me!!! The manager kept saying I needed to buy more Scotts tp and paper towels but I couldn’t use any of my coupons!! I called the Catalina company and they said it is a problem with Kmart and that my cat should have gone through…. I called Kmart’s customer service and reported the problem and then I called the Kmart store I shopped at and told a different manager about the problem. He said they should have just pushed it through as a manufacturer coupon (but I think the system was rejecting it?) I have no idea what was happening but I know I don’t want to drive 20 minutes to the store again just to TRY to use my $2 cat….

In the fine print below the picture of the catalina, Collin says you have to buy different products, so I don’t think you will get the cat if you only buy 3 TP’s.

I did your above 2 scenarios this morning for the Scott products. I got the instant $5 on both orders, but neither of the cats printed. I am new to Kmart and couponing in general, so I wanted to come home and read your post again before I confronted the customer service lady. She was already kindof frustrated with me. Where did you get the phrase about the catalina deal above, is it only from the actual catalina????? Or is there somewhere on the Kmart site that I can print off the deal and bring it back in to them with my receipt??

Hey not sure if anyone posted this or not, but I did the deal once and got one of the six rolls of paper towels. Well, there was a little coupon booklet taped inside the package and it had these q’s:
.75/1 – 8 rolls or more Extra Soft Bath Tissue
.75/1 – 4 rolls or more of paper towels
.50/1 – 1 flushable wipes tub or refill
So, if your store is doubling and you happen to find one of these, you will get an extra $4 off if you get these three items and get the $3 cat back! Awesome!!!!!

Went to K-mart the other day and bought the Scott products. I ended up getting two paper twoels one large pack of tp and one lg refill of wipes. The $5 instantly came off and I did get the three dollars off next purchase cat but several of my manf cpns didn’t double. I could see at the time they weren’t doubling, but the cashier was young and just kept telling me she didn’t know why. She also didn’t know about the dbl event either. It was really silly and I finally got sick of the whole process so I just left. I had an awesome catalina cpn for $6 OFF $60 purchase along with an bygo axe which I found deodorant with a free body spray. Those all went ok so I figured I still saved alot of money. Has anyone had this happened before, and if so what have you done? I realized later she didn’t scan some of my cpns at all. K-mart has these weird screens that come up when they scan the cpn and then they have to choose what item it is. She just kept scanning and none of them were going through, until I told her. She then replied “oh great”. Such is the routine of a cpn cutter I guess. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose huh?
