other then popcorn – can you use this on other stuff to?

    • Jamie Pelaez says:

@Stacy, you can use virgin coconut oil for sooooo many things. Use it anywhere a recipe calls for another oil or even butter. You can use it on your skin & hair. Add a scoop to your smoothies.

I could go on and on. It helps speed up your metabolism, give you more energy and so much more. I have been out for a good while & I can tell you there is a huge difference between when we have/use it and do not. It’s some amazing stuff.

U can use it in ur hair, on your skin ( i love it..and the smell is great), and I fry vegetables and sometimes chicken in it…lots of uses! I bought it the last time available…its awesome on kettle corn popcorn!

I make a chocolate coconut milk shake w/it! Just add to my shake & it’s super yummy. I use is as my moisturizer, in small amounts & just give it to the kids & myself on a spoon for health reasons, just search it for the health benefits!!

I use this on my veggies, pour a little of this over broccoli, add garlic powder/salt, then bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees. My kids gobble it up EVERY TIME!! I also add this instead of veggie oil when making brownies, it creates the best tasting desserts. I have used this in my hair in the past, and it calms fly-aways. I don’t like this on the skin, as it’s not moisturizing enough.

yeah!! been waiting for this : )

  • Liz says:

Anyone else besides me break out with acne when they cook using this stuff?

    • Jamie Pelaez says:

@Liz, it is possible you are allergic to it or your body is purging out toxins.

I have oily/combo skin and can use it on my face and cook with it & not have any break outs.

When you add something really healthy to your diet that provides minerals/vitamins, etc. that your body is lacking it will help purge out toxins. This can take anywhere from a few weeks to 2 months for your body to purge. When this happens you will see breakouts and other ailments as your body excretes the toxins it is removing.

I’ve read that coconut is very healthy.

  • punkyb82 says:

I put it in smoothies for my triplets. It helped them gain weight, and I felt good about it because it is such a healthy source of fat. I use it as a lotion sometimes too, love this stuff. And what a great price, thanks Collin! :)

  • Marie says:

I bought them a few weeks ago for 15.10 with the subscription. I actually like these containers much better than the other ones. It’s much easier to reach the bottom :)

We cook a lot of things with coconut oil, but grilled cheese sandwiches are really great if you spread some coconut oil before grilling. We make them in the panini maker and they get really really crispy. Yumm.

  • Linda says:

Awesome! We use it as an oil substitute (1:1 – use same amt of coconut oil as recipe calls for oil) when making cookies, brownies, etc. and it’s delicious! Also, use it when frying something on the stove, I think coconut oil holds up to heat better and won’t burn like butter or evaporate as easily as other oils.

  • Julie says:

YAY!!! Got this one and it worked even for Alaska shipping! I can’t wait to use it to do all sorts of things! This is my favorite site! Thanks again Collin!

  • starfish5 says:

Great Price but… if you bought the 2-29oz pkg you would pay .41/oz this deal is .44/oz. The 10% does not apply to the 2-29oz pkg and it is still cheaper.

I know TMI, but it makes a great personal lubricant as well. All natural product!

  • christina says:

i actually eat a tablespoon of raw coconut oil a day!( since i cannot swallow pills) its a natural energize and really works for me..

i also used it as a makeup remover for around my eyes. And deep condition treatment for my hair with it too.

  • Kimberly says:

It concerns me to see so many using and some even taking spoonfuls of coconut oil! If you have high cholesterol or a family history of high cholesterol this is NOT a healthy choice for you. Coconut oil contains a large proportion of lauric acid, a saturated fat that significantly raises blood cholesterol. You are better off eating a spoonful of lard or crisco than this stuff! Please be careful about consuming too much of this!

    • Kim says:

On the contrary, Kimberly, coconut oil is shown to help raise HDL and lower LDL. Coconut oil is not the villain it has been made out to be for the last several decades. Take a look at a book called Real Food by Nina Planck – it will give you all the latest studies and most recent thinking on this good fat, in particular a study by Mary Eng, from 1996. I am trying to wrap my head around these concepts myself, because they’re so foreign to everything we’ve been taught for 30 years!

  • I love this stuff. I use it to make the best homemade popcorn. I have the recipe here: http://cheapsinglechick.blogspot.com/2011/08/my-new-fave-food-obsession-homemade.html

Soooo good! And it’s great in sweet breads and baking, too. Gives it just the SLIGHTEST coconut flavor. So yummy!

  • Melinda P says:

I love extra virgin coconut oil, and it is SOOOO good for you, and it tastes like coconuts. I use it to cook chicken breasts, makes them brown up beautifully. I use it along with extra virgin olive oil to make homemade mayo. I sometimes use it in recipes that call for butter. I use it to add a little fat when cooking extra lean meats. I use it to saute veggies and/or garlic and onions. If I’m out of lipbalm and my lips are chapped, a little tiny dab of coconut oil does the trick (plus it smells good). And sometimes, I lick the spoon after I’m done scooping it out of the jar(and done with the spoon, of course). Cuz, yeah, it’s that delicious and that good for you. Suprisingly enough I’ve never popped popcorn with it. I might have to buy some popcorn to try that. :)
