It is not giving me the discount.

  • Rhonda Shaw says:

Mine keep saying $4.99 doesn’t go down to the 90% off. Anyone else having the same problem?

  • Rebecca says:

You do need a code, so don’t forget to use it. Once you get to Restaurants.com, it says,

    “Enter promo code: WOW
at the Checkout Page and hit
“Apply” to receive your discount. “

    • Rhonda Shaw says:

      I tried that and didn’t work :(

      • Rebecca says:

It worked for me. I got $40 for $4. (That’s $75 worth for $4! + plus I went through ShopAtHome)

Plus, during checkout it gave me an additional offer:
        “Add a $25.00 Restaurant.com Gift Certificate for only $4.99
Redeemable online for over 18,000 restaurants on Restaurant.com”

        • Rebecca says:

Code doesn’t apply to generic GC’s, but the offer of $4.99 for a generic $25 GC is still awesome.
          “$25 Restaurant.com Gift Certificates
Not eligible for Promo Codes – No discount applied”

Me too, having the same problem….

  • Dawn says:

    Will go try that code…thanks!

    • Dawn says:

Ok…got it! The code WOW worked perfectly. Can’t beat 2 $25 gift cards for 2 bucks plus $1 cash back! If only there were more restuarants in my area that I actually liked! Thanks for the posting…..and the code!

      • Victoria says:

I know, they have 3 restaurants for my area. I only like 1 of them and they are all sold out of the $25 dollar one. So I have to wait for another promo or hope they get some more before this one is up.

  • Linda says:

Paid $7.50 for five $25 gift certificates, awesome! Can’t wait to try some new places.

  • Kristen says:

Thanks, the code Wow worked for me on the restaurant I chose. Dropped the price to just $0.50. DID NOT work on the Restaurant.com GC, though.

  • Collin says:

Sorry for the confusion… just updated the post. You will need to use the coupon code WOW during checkout to get the 90% off discount.

  • Jamie says:

I would love to do these Restaurant.com deals but there are not any participating restaurants in my town and none that are worth driving to.

  • TIA says:

Just wondering how long they are going to do this but i am at work and can’t do it now

  • krista says:

Question: When it says “Minimum $35 purchase”, and I buy a $50 gift card, does that cover the $35 minimum, or am I going to have to pay an additional $35 on top of giving them my gift card? Thanks!

    • Linda says:

I’m confused about that to krista.

    • Rebecca says:

The $50 ones usually have a $100 minimum purchase. Click next to each option to see the details for that specific amount.

      • krista says:

No, no, that’s not what I’m asking. I am looking at a restaurant. It says that it has a $35 minimum. I am planning to buy a $50 gift card, because typically their entrees are fairly expensive (steak house). What I’m asking: Since it says $35 minimum purchase, does that mean they want and additional $35 on top of the gift card, or would the gift card cover the $35, meaning that I would not have anything out of pocket other than the tip? Thank you so much for any clarification! :)

    • Kate says:

You have to read rules under each one–you have to click on which amount you want to buy to see the rules underneath for each. If you buy a $25 GC and have to spend $35 (tip not included) then your $25 will be applied to the $35 and you still have to pay tip and tax. If you buy $50 GC then you usually have to spend $100 and still have to pay 18% gratuity and tax. I hope this helps.

  • Kate says:

The site is running so slow for me…might be a good idea to try later or I will be here all morning.

  • Rebecca says:

Great for gifts! We have a wedding to go to this weekend. We can’t afford much at all right now, & I couldn’t figure out what to get for them. This is perfect to give them a lovely dinner out together! :)
Thank you Collin, ShopAtHome, & Restaurants.com!

the site isn’t bringing my total down to a dollar for each one it is still charging 2.00 for each certificate?

      • Rebecca says:

Are you using the WOW code?

Also, check what the original price was. I had one $25 on that started at $10(so $1 after code), while another restaurant’s $25 one started at $20 (so $2 after code).

  • Salley Schwartz says:

I’m having trouble getting to the site. Maybe too busy right now?
If the small print on the cert say must spend $50 and I have a $50 cert do I have to just spend a total of $50 and then pay taxes and tip or do I have to spend 50 beyond the cert?
Also if my cert is for $100 can a spend $80 and forfit the other $20?

    • Linda says:

Read the fine print. With these certificates, most restaurants require your bill to be a certain amount BEFORE the certificate. You will end up paying some money out of pocket at the restaurant. The value that is required depends on the amount of your certificate.

  • nancy moreno says:

I got 4 to $25 cards to Game Works here in California. Does anyone know if i can use more than one at one time?

  • dixiedarlin79 says:

I have a Restaurant.com gift card for $50 that I would like to redeem to get some gift cards to some restaurants in my area. Does anyone know if I have to spend the entire $50 at one time?

    • Anonymous says:

You do not have to use it all at one time. I have had mine for a while – used it two separate times and still have a balance.

    • no1coco says:

You do not have to spend it all at once. I have used mine at separate times for purchases. It has always been very quick and easy to do so. They track the balance of your certificate for you.

  • no1coco says:

I went to check out this deal and there were 5 new restaurants within a 15 mile radius. I am so excited. Needless to say I bought the old standbys and one for each new one. Spent only $10 instead of $100. Got lots of new places to try. So happy……oh yeah, plus $5 back through Shop At Home.

  • Heather A. says:

It only works on specific restaurants. You cannot get a GC or mail a GC. It states so in the small print. You also do not need the code WOW to get the 90% discount, it automatically takes it off.

  • Indymom says:

Please beware if you are buying these. Just because you buy the coupons, doesn’t mean when you get to the restaurant that they’ll accept them. Even though the coupons say “No Expiration”, they do expire! I got scammed like this over the weekend. I bought a “Gift Certificate” from this site previously and went to an expensive restaurant that I normally wouldn’t go to….. I purposly over spent knowing I had to get my total over $35 to use…. THEN, when the tab came I handed over my “Gift Certificate”, they then said they no longer have an account with Restaurant.com and would not accept my coupon! I could not afford to spend much more then $20ish for dinner that night and yet got stuck with a $50 charge! Thankfully I had my bill money in my purse to spend.

    • Indymom says:

I’m not trying to rant, I just wanted to warn people to not purchase more of these then they’ll use in the next few weeks because at anytime the restaurant can choose to “cancel their contract” and not honor these. AND make sure to have the full balance on you in case you get dooped; Nothing more embarrassing then having dinner and not being able to afford your bill.

    • adrianna says:

Well, it DOES say on the certificate that you must present to server BEFORE you order. I ALWAYS give it to the server first off, to make sure they take it and if they don’t I leave. I have only had a problem once, and I have used these at least twice a month for 2 years!

    • Indymom says:

Where exactly does it say that you have to hand it over before ordering? I’ve been all over the site and read all the fine print on my coupon and nowhere does it say it on mine. If you’re required to hand it over before ordering then they shouldn’t call it a “Gift Certificate” which is what it says on mine! I was under the assumption that you just use it like a normal gift cert. (aka… at time of paying); also, I DID have mine sitting in the middle of the table the whole time I was there so it’s not like they didn’t know the whole time I was purposly racking up my bill……. they shouldn’t sale a coupon that they have no intentions of accepting anyway IMO.

I’m not trying to be confrontational,,, I’m just saying “proceed with caution” Restuarant.com only sales the coupons, it’s up to the restuarant to accept them and not all abide by the terms. You can buy one and use it as the gift cert. it claims to be and end up being stuck with a huge bill.

      • Melissa says:

I bought a restaurant.com coupon, printed it, and two days later my husband and I went on a date to the establishment and they didn’t want to accept it. I was completely flabbergasted since I had just purchased it exactly two days earlier. I explained this to our waiter, he then brought out the owner and she went on a little rant about how she would accept it as a goodwill gesture but that she was no longer doing business with restaurant.com. The whole thing was a nightmare. We drove out of our way to specifically go to this place and then felt really embarrassed when the tables around us were witness to the owner’s rant. It ruined our date night and I will never purchase from that site again. It’s not worth the trouble in my opinion.

  • Kate says:

I cannot checkout…everything in my cart and it will not let me check out. Even started a new ShopAtHome.com ticket and still nada! I’ll try again later. Really took alot of time reading menus and fine print. :(

  • Dianna says:

Thanks for the heads up on this. I just got a $25 cert for our favorite Italian restaurant, will be 75 cents after cashback!! CANNOT beat that, and we LOVE to go there.

Indymom, that stinks about your experience with the restaurant. I always check with the server before we’re even seated to make sure they take the gift certificates. Even though they are called GC, they are really more like coupons. I’ve never had a problem with a restaurant taking them, but I know that others have. I’m pretty sure that Restaurant.com will exchange the certificate for you if the restaurant won’t redeem it.

  • Shandra says:

I have tried it several times today & it is giving me partial discount but not .50 cents. Also, it will not let me proceed to checkout. It just stays on that screen. :(

  • Jane says:

Thanks for posting, Collin! I bought 2 certificates… $75 worth… for $2 after Cash Back! 1 of which we will be using on our girls weekend getaway, woohoo! :)

  • INDYMOM says:

LOLOLOLOL!!!! The exact restaurant I’ve been ranting about (that I feel purposly ripped people off through Rest.com’s site) is now listed as todays indianapolis Groupon deal!! They are now using Groupon to rip people off. I bet Creation Cafe doesn’t accept a single Groupon coupon!
