This Hip2Save.com Deal was hand-posted on Saturday, October 15th, 2011 at 5:55 pm.

If you are a newbie to CVS shopping, head on over here to check out the CVS Store Guide! And if you are new to all this coupon mumbo jumbo (huh?!), then check out our Coupon Newbie section.

As I mentioned previously, starting 10/16 through 12/25, you can earn $10 gift cards to Macy’s, Gap, Applebee’s, Shell Gas Stations, American Express, Barnes & Noble or CVS every week simply by spending $30 on participating products BEFORE coupons!  You will find participating items each week marked in the weekly ad and in-store as part of the “Earn Free Gift Cards” promotion.  Your coupon for a free gift card will print at the end of your receipt immediately following qualifying purchase of $30 or more.  AND, the limit is 5 free $10 gift cards per cardholder per week (as stated in the ad on page of ad)!

Want to create your own custom printable shopping list?!
Simply click on the printer icon to the right of the post title and then follow the instructions to easily remove portions of the weekly deals that do not interest you. Then print and take with you to the store!

  • Valerie says:

I was thinking of buying (8) Advil. (4) at 4.99 and (4) at 2.49. Is there a limit to how many you can purchase in one transaction?

  • Hannah says:

Would it be worth it to get 6 packs of Pampers, use 3 $1.50/2 coupons from 10/2, and get 1 $10.00 gift card. Then go back later in the week and get your free Pampers coupon from the machine and get another $10.00 gift card?

I think it would make it after coupons and gift cards about $4.20 per pack…are there any better coupons out there?

    • Kathy says:

The machine was spitting out $1 off Jumbo packs for me… if you got them, you could combine them with the $1.50/2 manu coupon.

    • Sarah says:

Does this deal have to be all in one transation or does it track?

    • Joanne says:

I think you would be better off splitting the 6 pks of diapers into 2 transactions. Buy 3 pks and something else to bring the total up to 30.00 and then buy the other 3 doing the same thing… this way you would get 2 gift cards instead of 1. Your free pk will print at the red coupon box within 48 hrs or so. You can then choose to do another 30.00 deal using the free coupon.

I was thinking the same thing and Joanne’s reply seems like the best route… working on a few combo ideas.

      • Stefanie says:

That is what I plan on doing — plus the coupon machine printed out $3 off 2 pampers for both my friend and myself making it an even better deal for me :)

  • Kathy says:

I got my free Pampers coupon (from buying 6 jumbo packs, get one free). Do you think I could use it and the $8.99 would still count toward the gas card promo? If it does, this would make for a sweet deal! If it doesn’t, I’d like to save it for a Pampers ECB deal…

Also… could I buy 2 packs and use the $1.50/2 AND the Free Pack coupon since one is a manu coupon and one is a CVS coupon. I know I couldn’t do that if they were both manu coupons… but since you can have one of each coupon per item I wasn’t sure.

    • Krystal says:

Yeah it should give it to you free and credit you the 8.99, and technically you should be able to use the manu coupon and the free store coupon, you may get trouble but it should work….just give them manu coupons first.

    • Andrea says:

I don’t know if it’s just my store, but when I’ve redeemed my free diaper coupon, the register took off the regular price of $11.99, even though the diapers were on sale that week for $8.99.

      • Misty says:

I did this at my CVS in south florida, and the cashier had to manually remove the amount – he only deducted 8.99 since that’s what they were on sale for. I think it depends on your area.

  • Kathy says:

oops… I know it’s not just a gas card that I can get — so used to that promo from the summer!

  • Dianne says:

I received an offer for a survey in my e-mail today worth $10 ECB, so it might show up for others too, especially those who fill prescriptions at CVS. Worth a look!

    • Ann says:

I did a survey last week for a $10 ECB. I only use Walgreens for my prescriptions and answered that way on my survey.

    • Nicole G. says:

That’s awesome. Hopefully I’m that lucky! :) Nothing yet though…although I can’t complain, because I seem to get deals that others dont sometimes.

  • Mitch says:

Thanks for the list. CVS has not emailed me a coupon in 2 weeks, they have me trained to wait for those if they want me to shop.
Hopefully by not shopping their computer system will generate a coupon for customers like me to get us in the store.
    thanks
    http://www.gaynycdad.com

    • Jennifer says:

It has been 2 long years since I have seen a coupon….they only send me e-mail offers…so frustrating:)!!

      • Rei says:

It’s been 2 year for me too…I think they stop sending them to customers that shop at cvs frequently.

        • Samantha Booker says:

Same here. I am at CVS at least once a week and only get deals sent to my email and no coupons even though my card is registered online.

        • Kc says:

I must be lucky I shop there frequently usually get any and all coupons they email and lots great qs crt machine. But I do shop there like major I’m the oldest of 11 kids 9 girls, my summer savings 7100.00. Spending like 291.00 all thanks to Collin .

          • Sherri says:

Wow that is amazing! $7100 for $291! Your quarterly awards must be huge( or whatever they are called summer, fall, spring rewards..etc. Nice!

          • elina says:

wholly moly 7100 you must live there
Love to hear people are saving usually when I get there everything is gone

          • Kathy says:

How do you know what your quarterly savings are? My receipt always shows my YEARLY savings, but my quarterly spending… very tricky to put it that way!

    • jmartcougar says:

maybe I should shop less lol

  • romy says:

are the cvs centrum coupons all gone?

  • Carrie says:

The Conair hair appliance ecb excludes clearance items.

  • lmwynn says:

Today I was at CVS and got an interesting coupon from the magic coupon machine. It said “Get a Med D brochure from the Pharmacy and get a $5 gift card.” I brought the coupon to the pharmacy and they had no idea what it was and said they didn’t have any of those. I asked the cashier at the front desk and the manager on duty, and neither one had any idea what the Med D brochure was or about the gift card. Has anyone else gotten this coupon and do you know what it’s for?

    • Tami says:

My bet is that it is a Medicare Part D information brochure….

    • Gio says:

My mother received the same coupon today at CVS. The pharmacy had no idea either, however I saw a bunch of red Medicare Part D brochures right in front of the pharmacy counter, so I assumed these were the ones. So my mom received her $5 gift card!

      • lmwynn says:

So how did she actually get the card? Did she have to scan the brochure at checkout, and did the cashier know to give her the card? Or did it print out? Thanks!

    • Stacy says:

Yep, I took the coupon and the brochure to the cashier (who happened to be a manager too) and he said he had never seen a Q like this, but scanned the coupon I showed him the brochure (Medicare Part D free pamphlet from pharmacy area) and he handed me a $5 gift card, used it to pay the taxes for the rest of my orders! Thanks CVS!

    • elina says:

i got one just go to your pharmacy and request a d pamphlet, they give you a 5 ecb right away no purchase needed

  • Janessa says:

I found these coupons by searching your data base. It will make the advil deal a little sweeter! https://www.wyethallbrands.com/special_offers.aspx

  • Sarah says:

Anyone have any Pampers you will not be using? I would love to have them!

  • guest says:

i have 4×1 almay coupons and would like to trade for 4×1 sally hansen nail colour coupons. if anyone intrested plz ping me at pelli.apa@gmail.com thank you. show more show less

  • woodru33 says:

I am new to CVS. If I buy the almay in one transaction and get the $4 ECB, can I roll that right away on another transaction to buy another Almay eye shadow or is it like Wags and the ECB cannot be rolled to purchase the same product?

    Thank you!

  • Thone says:

I incorporated 2 – Colgate toothpaste into my gift card deal. The limit is 2 and they are $1.99 each. I used 2 – 75 cent coupons (exp. 10/22), just in case anyone has these coupons.

  • darcy says:

I just started couponing this year and wonder when the holiday sales will start showing up and what are the best deals that come up? Thanks!

  • Nicole G. says:

Love this $10 GC promo. I’m somewhat new to CVS, but have fallen in love with the store. Their RRewards are so much better than WAGS & so many fewer restrictions. I have $27 in ECB’s to use, so I cant wait to put it towards this promo! The scenario I’ve come up with:

Buy 2 Wisk Laundry detergents 26-32 loads on sale $4.99
Buy 1 Bounty extra soft paper towels 12 pk $13
Buy 4 Charmin Freshmates flushable wipes 40 ct 2/$5= $10 total
    Total = $32.98
Use 2 $2/1 Wisk coupons found in the 10/16 SS
Use 2 $1/2 Charmin products coupon from 10/16 SS
    Use 1 $1/1 Bounty Coupon from 10/16 P&G
    Pay $25.98
    Get back $10 gift card
Final cost $15.98 for all 5 items!

I realize it’s not the most cost effective (being that the paper towel is pretty $$), but I’m tailoring to items we need & use. I don’t dislike Wisk, but it’s far from my favorite detergent, so I think 6 would be an overkill for me :) Maybe this scenario will work for someone else!

    • Misty says:

Love this! Thank you for posting! I also use the same items in our household and am not big on Wisk, but gotta go where the coupons take me :)

  • Kathryn says:

I got one of those $5 giftcard when you pick up a brochure at the pharmacy. It took them awhile to find it but they did – they were going to just give me the $5 giftcard but I got the brochure too – a thin pamplet – hope that helps.

  • KellyD says:

Just put up the halloween lights that I got free last year from coupons from the CVS machine-anyone remember that great give-away?

    • melissa says:

that was a killer deal!! I got 2 coupons that week!! 1 store I bought 2 tall spider candle holders and at the other store, bought the LED tea lights to put in the holders! They’re in my windowsill right now!

    • Amy says:

Oh yea!!! I was remembering last year’s killer deals too as I was unpacking my Halloween decorations and thinking “oh, this is the free light up pumpkin I got last year at CVS, and the free light up skull, and free spider web, and free spider candle holder, and free boo to you sign”. Hope they do a deal that again this year!!!

  • Love the CVS deals! Thanks, Collin :)

  • nira says:

I’m very wary of these ten dollar gift cards because I went yesterday to mine and saw nooooot one ten dollar gift card for any of the participating cards

  • Carol_R says:

Thanks for the match ups Collin!

  • sara says:

On the Almay coupon, what does ‘color cosmetic product’ mean? Can we use it for any of the items on sale? (eye shadow, mascara, or eye liner?)

  • Amanda S. says:

Here’s my plan for the gift card deal. It’s a little higher but we are low on some things:
    1 bounty $13 – $1 coupon = $12
    2 charmin freshmates $5 – 2 $1 coupons from books inside charmin tp = $3
    2 Motts $4 – $2/2 coupon = $2
    1 Pampers diapers $8.99 – $1 cvs coupon and $1.50 MF coupon = $6.49
    total before coupons: $30.99 after coupons: $23.49 -$10GF = $13.49 for all 6 items. :)

  • Brie N. says:

I can’t seem to remember, when you purchase a BOGO item, like the Nature’s Bounty do both bottles count towards the $30.00 total or just the bottle you are paying for? Thanks!

  • irene says:

Heads up… found some seasonal items at 90% off at my CVS. Garden tools $.19, pocket folders $.13, doggie wipes $.12. Wheeee!

  • sandra says:

Are cosmetics, nail polish, I am thinking i can use 3/10 coupon on the sally hansen and get the 5 off 15 ecb? There is a bogo on orbits, i got bogo from the coupon machine, can i get free gum? i have been doing the shaw general mills catalina and my brain is fried.

    • lmwynn says:

Yes, nail products qualify for the cosmetics coupon. For the bogo on orbit, it really depends on your store/cashier and whether or not the register will take.

  • sandra says:

I got leggs trouser socks for 15 cent each at cvs today, so keep an eye out for them

    • lmwynn says:

I found some for 37 cents last week, which was great because the magic coupon machine gave me a coupon for $1 off hoisery purchase, so I snagged 3 for 11 cents total!

  • Sue L says:

If you want to buy Kellogg cereals, I found there is MIR with 10 cereal purchase. http://www2.kelloggs.com/AARP/rewards/

  • miguel says:

im going to e hont, im running out of detergent so can i buy 3 boxes of powder gain and get the $10 gift card???

  • Amy says:

How does Wisk compare to Purex? (I’ve never used Wisk.) You guys have converted me into a Purex user because of all the fabulous sales on it!

    • Amanda says:

I think its comparable to the purex. I use all kinds of detergent and I like the wisk. The only one that I dont really like is xtra.

    • elina says:

wisk is great for stains and doesnt use alot use the coupon and get the card it is well worth it, I also use the purex but I am not picky gotta have the stain remover and fabric softener but free is always good.

      • Amy says:

I always pretreat stains with Shout and still have Snuggle softener from a deal awhile back so I’m sure this detergent will be fine. I used to use nothing but Tide before getting into couponing (boy was I overpaying for detergent!). I ended up getting 3 Wisk as part of my $30 deal. Thanks for making me feel better about my decision to go ahead and buy some. :0)

  • darcy says:

    I am going to buy:
    2 wisk 4.99
    2 pampers 8.99
    2 raisin bran $4
    total: 31.98

    -10.00 GC
    15.48 for all 6 items
plus I get a free pack of pampers since I needed to buy 2 more for the promo

  • Stella says:

what if they are out of wisk? do you get a raincheck how does that work getting a 10.00 gift card??

  • Christa says:

    Thanks!
    I bought $30
    6 – 8.99 pampers $53.94
    3 – $3 mars candy $9.00
    = 62.94
    - $1 coupon machine candy, $.50 coupon machine candy, 3 $1.50/2 pampers diapers, $1.50/3 mars candy.
=$55.40+tax, get $20 in gift cards, and later a coupon machine free diaper.

  • Maria says:

I just got back from CVS and bought 6 Wicks and 1 Snickers 8-pack.

I used $14 ECB from last week ($3 ECB from American Greetings deal, $1 ECB from Dial moneymaker, and $10 from CVS survey on Friday).

So total was $11.50 (tax included) OOP and got $10 Giftcard!

Basically it only costs me $1.50 for 7 items! WOO HOO!!

  • Maria says:

Oops I meant Wisks! not Wicks! LOL

  • Zoey says:

I just got back from CVS.

    First I purchased,
    2 almay eyeshadows 11.98 -2.00 coupons = 9.98 .
    Got $8 ECB
    The purchased
    4 wisks $20
    1 Bounty $13
That totaled $33 , then after $8 whisk coupons , $1 bounty coupon and $8 ECB
I paid $16 plus tax and got $10 gift card.

Altogether I spent about $17 for 7 items ..great deal!

  • Lisa says:

I can’t find the Wisk coupon, was it regional?

  • sanah says:

for the crest complete deal u can’t get the 6.2 oz toothpast the toothpaste needs to be around 4-5.8oz and there 2 for 5.50 so 2.75 for each toothpaste get 4 toothpast for $11 use 4 $1off crest toothpast in the p&g insert of the begin of the month and ull end up paying $7 or if u have $5 ecb ull pay $2 so .50cents for each toothpast and also pay attention when u get ur ecb cause for some reason the ecb is printing so be carefull nd if it doesn’t print tell the cashier ur $5ecb didn’t print for the crest deal and they should print u $5 ecb if u bought the things ur supposed to buy to get the ecb

    • Carrie says:

I had trouble with the ECB printing on this deal a few weeks ago. I’ve dicided it’s not worth the hassle when there are plenty of other deals on toothpaste.

    • jmartcougar says:

yeah I think Colin should change that since the I was told the 6.2 oz was not part of the sale only the 4-5.8 oz. I made this mistake of buying 3 and the ECB did not print oh well

  • Jenn says:

    Hey Collin!
Do you know if CVS tracks items towards ECB? I went to buy the crest complete toothpaste but it was on sale for 2/$5 so I bought 3 bc that’s how many coupons I had with me. Will I be able to purchase one more and have my $5 ECB print? Thanks

    • jmartcougar says:

You have to spend a total of $10 for the 5 ecb to print I did the same thing today and bought three but I did not get the ECB and it did not track on my receipt :(

    • melissa says:

CVS ecb deals do track on your receipt. You probably bought the wrong size. The one for the ecb deal are the smaller tubes 4 – 5.8 oz, not the 6.2 oz Collin has listed. I’d go back and do an exchange.

  • edy says:

I’m heading to cvs now!! Hopefully they have wisk left if not I’m getting the pampers and lumene cream and everything I can get bucks and I have 34bucks to spend from last week and rain check for the pur-absorb iron 15.99 bucks back 15.99 and I’m doing all the limit (5) gift cards love all my cosmetics $5 from beauty enrollment!!

  • Cindy G says:

ANyone know if there is an expiration on the gift cards? Would be great to give for Christmas or to shop for Christmas!!!

    • Kathy says:

I asked that same question to the cashier. He said no there is no expiration on the gift card. I had the same thought as to giving it for Christmas as anyone can use it, not just me.

  • Ze says:

If you need Q10 vitamins, this will be a good item to get up to the $30 mark. It is on sale for buy one get one free, and I am estimating the price of one is $20. There is a $2 off manufacture coupon on redplum.com. Also, last week there was a $4 off $20 vitamin purchase from the magic coupon machine. Your total for two Q10 vitamins that was originally $40 would be $14.

  • Kelsey says:

Just FYI, in the past the smaller sized Nexxus did not count towards the deal.

  • misty says:

I bought 2 advil sunday, but my question is will that count towards the $30 deal? B/c i didnt get everything in one transaction? (if that makes since) I tried to look at my account on cvs and didnt see anything, so im not really sure. Do i just keep the receipt? Help please!! ty in advance

    • Andrea says:

This deal is being kept track of on the bottom of your receipt. You should see
“Gift Card, Spend 30 Get Card”
      “Amount Toward this Reward” ??.??
“Amount Needed to Earn Reward 30.00″

Your advil purchases should show up where I have put the question marks. Just subtract that from $30 and you’ll know how much more you need to spend to get a card! Hope that Helps!

  • Lisa says:

The coupon machine just gave me a b1g1 Theraflu coupon. They are 2/$11 this week and then you get $3ECB for buying 2. I also had a $2 mq and $3 CVS q for the one I bought, so it ended up being a $2.50 moneymaker. A nice surprise!

  • jareds_butterfly says:

I got some awesome coupons today at the magic coupon machine. $3 off any $15 baby purchase, $3 off a $15 Pampers diapers purchase, and BOGO Starburst coupon!!! I was already buying Pampers for the gift card promo so my deal got $6 better since I could combine the 2 coupons. And next week I will be getting free Starbursts with the other BOGO coupon that is available to print online!!!

  • rh says:

    Deal Scenario:
Buy 3 Crest Complete toothpastes 6.2 oz $3.89 (estimated price)
    Total = $11.67
Use 3 $2/1 coupons found in the 9/11 SS
—–Am I missing something. The coupon in the 9/11 SS is for Colgate. I need a good toothpaste deal, and really wanted to get this. We’re out…I thought I would keep a good stock but I gave all my extras to family. ———–

    • Yadi says:

it is in the 9/11 SS,I have noticed that there are always different coupons on the inserts depending on where u live, i get the worst of them all, lol, so i have to work with them. But, if u don’t have them wich is wierd, u can still score 4 toothpaste for 2 dollars. I used the deal that Sanah posted above:

or the crest complete deal u can’t get the 6.2 oz toothpast the toothpaste needs to be around 4-5.8oz and there 2 for 5.50 so 2.75 for each toothpaste get 4 toothpast for $11 use 4 $1off crest toothpast in the p&g insert of the begin of the month and ull end up paying $7 or if u have $5 ecb ull pay $2 so .50cents for each toothpast and also pay attention when u get ur ecb cause for some reason the ecb is printing so be carefull nd if it doesn’t print tell the cashier ur $5ecb didn’t print for the crest deal and they should print u $5 ecb if u bought the things ur supposed to buy to get the ecb.

hope this is helpful and good luck!!! :-)

  • cassiesoren says:

Has anyone done the GC deal and redeemed it for a CVS GC? Then “rolled” the GC to do another spend $30 get $10 GC transaction? I’m assuming it will work but just checking if anyone has had any problems with this. TIA!
