Everyone who needs a refund – call the catalog department at 800-221-8019, hit prompt one for manifacturer shipped items and speak with someone there. They went ahead and processed my refund (which was 11.81) and I was told to expect it in a week or so. They said there were over 13k of these ordered, so they are slammed. Very nice representative (where they had a lot of orders, it doesn’t excuse rudeness!)

I had called CS about the problem Monday and was told I would get 1/2 my money back as a refund on my CC….just checked my account and the refend for 1/2 price is there. Took them a while, but they did follow through. Dissapointed that they didn’t e-mail everyone to let them know what was going on, but I am thankful to have one set for the $11.75 it cost.

UPDATE: I called JC Penney the day I received 1 set of blocks instead of 2. I was told that I would be getting credit back to my card. Instead, I received a check in the mail for $11.89 on Monday. Very pleased with the outcome.

I finally got around to calling today about the other half of my two set order. The service rep was very nice and told me I was refunded $11.86 to my credit card on 11/18, and I logged into my credit card account and confirmed. I was glad to hear that, however I went on to explain my predicament (these were supposed to be birthday party gifts for a friend’s twins! How can I give them one set?!) More importantly, JCPenney’s handling of the situation (or lack thereof) put the responsibility on the customer, which was unacceptable.
She explained that some customers ordered 99 sets – 99 sets! And that’s when they caught the error and decided to ship one to everyone. She passed along the name and direct phone number of one of the “leads” who is handling this situation. I will give her a call on Monday to politely share my feedback

I just found out my order was cancelled. Silly me — I was trying to be patient and didn’t check on here! So, I ordered the 100 piece sets from Amazon for $15.99, and free shipping as I ordered 4….Some things fall through, but glad I’m still able to get Doug & Melissa blocks at a great price. (and actually, the JC Penny sale was for the 60 piece sets, and Amazon has the 100 piece sets…)

so i just got my order- well 1 order of blocks and she said they were priced wrong and i was only getting 1 set, and getting refunded for the other. i was upset since the only reason i ordered some was to have double the blocks- i have 4 little boys! she was apologetic and assured me it was still a good deal wince they were supposed to be 59.99, but boo!

We only got one set, called JCPenney and they said there was such a rush on them that everyone was only getting one and will be credited for the other set, but it’s been over a week and my card hasn’t been credited…has anyone else recieved the credit??

I called today and I will only get the one set (I ordered two) I received in the mail last week. My credit card will be credited in 10-14 business days.

I bought mine using my Amex, so I contacted them regarding the situation rather than JCP, and the credit was approved and in my account within days.
I am glad we all got one instead of none, you know? It wasn’t a total waste of our time, and we got one set of blocks for an awesome price!

Just an update–JCP charged my cc for the full amount (for 2 sets) even after I called them about receiving 1 set only, so I called again. This time, they told me they would only be refunding me half of my total purchase, which would be $12.03, not the $12.99 for 1 set. They didn’t offer me any additional compensation for my inconvenience as I’ve seen some other people receive. They said if I had only bought 1 set at $12.99, I wouldn’t have been able to use the $10 off coupon, so they have allowed that discount even though I’ve only purchased 1. How frustrating!
