Mine came to $15.88 with tax and shipping ($1.97) but still a great deal…I couldn’t help myself. I had Samantha as a child and she is no longer available in the full size doll but still comes in the mini I guess. Hope my daughter loves her as much as I did!

  • Alicia says:

*Just an FYI because Walmart does not give a lot of detail on this, it is a 6-inch mini-doll with a doll sized book.

    • Melissa says:

Thanks. I was just getting ready to look that up.

      • Melissa says:

I just read on Amazon that the book only contains the first 3 chapters of the larger book. That would help to know if the child is interested in the book. I think I will pass on this though. My daughter loves to read and has another series she is interested in. If this had the full size book I would have tried it.

is the venus gift set (with allure subscription rebate
) still available on walmart with free shipping?

  • Barbara says:

My screen was locking up, so I went through my account AND then went into my shopping cart and that seemed to work. Thank you. My daughter loves to read anything so I am hoping she loves this and at 6 inches maybe it will fit in the stocking!

  • Sarah H. says:

omg, omg, omg… my daughter is going to flip when she gets her Felicity!!!!! (Nuts… Rebecca was already gone, but Felicity is a perennial favorite).
    Thanks SOOOOO much!

  • heather says:

got one for each of my girls. be a good stocking stuffer or a even up filler gift to make sure kids all have the same number of gifts

  • Laurie says:

some of the same dolls are on Amazon for $14.xx as well, just fyi. you just have to scroll thru the choices. they vary in price acc’ding to doll.
these are a cute idea tho. nice stocking stuffer.

On a side note, I would never pay for a full sized American girl doll! I can’t believe the crappy quality for which they charge premium prices… and I’m appalled that they call em Am Girl when they’re made in China. My sister got my daughter a bitty baby for $80-90 and she carried it around @ Christmas while she was wearing a black velour dress. The color stained the baby’s face, and no matter what I tried, it doesn’t come off…. but the painted hair and features sure do! Called the company and there is no sort of warranty or anything. They were nice, but told me it’d cost $20+ to have a new head put on the doll. needless to say, we didn’t.

Hmmm… we were at the store over the summer in Kansas City and were told the follow and it’s posted on their site as well. I would try again if I were you.

Just an fyi to anyone reading…bitty babies are only about $50 and are great quality. My DD got hers when she was 18 months and at 5 1/2, still plays with her EVERY SINGLE DAY. She also has the bitty twins and they go everywhere we go. I, too, find it sad that they are made in China, but I will argue that the quality for this doll (and the full size American Girl dolls) is way beyond what you can get at Target/Walmart for $10 more. Though I am very frugal, I will spend good money on a nice doll for my child to use daily. How many other toys do we spend $50 and they only keep our child’s attention for a few weeks?

And for the record, I had Samantha growing up and STILL have her. My daughter gets to play with her once in a while and will get to have her when she is a little older and more responsible with dolls hair. In this day and age of electronics ruling our children’s lives, I am grateful the toy my kindergartner begs to play with is her AG dolls. I do buy inexpensive clothing and accessories at places like Jo Ann’s/Michaels/Hobby Lobby with coupons, but the doll I pay full price for through AG.

I can’t say for the current dolls but the orginal dolls (prior to Mattel taking over) are VERY high quality and worth the $. I still have all 4 of my dolls, my oldest being the Samantha doll I got in 1989 and still looks amazing. Wonderful way to get girls excited about history.

      • ChristaK says:

I got my Samantha in 1989 too! Pleasant Company was definitely better quality than the current Mattel quality. (I believe the dolls were made in Germany when Pleas Co started out) However, of the people I know that have purchased the dolls under the current Mattel ownership, I still think they are probably among the best quality on the market. (I’ve neve heard of paint coming off the face before – yikes!)

        • ChristaK says:

Also re quality dolls — The Pleas Co dolls used to be made by Gotz, a German company. Just at a quick search, it looks like Gotz still makes dolls, though I can’t say what the quality is like today or if they are still made in Germany or are made in China now too. But it might be worth looking into if you’re look for a quality alternative. (I found reallygreattoys.com carries Gotz)

My youngest got the look-alike doll for her 5th birthday. The hair seemed to be falling out whenever we brushed it, so I called customer service. The woman was incredibly friendly, and said that though some hair loss is normal, if I was unhappy, they would replace it. The new doll arrived in a few days and I had a week to send back the original. We are really happy with this doll, customer service, and free games from the website. She plays with her doll every day and will be getting a second for Christmas.

    • Laura says:

I will argue about the quality of the dolls too! Santa bought my 3yo daughter the bitty twins set for Christmas last year and she had toted them around with her ever since! They have been thru everything! I would shell out the money in a heart beat, and more knowing the wonderful quality, durability, and the love she has for them. Do you think maybe the dress was to blame?

      • Kim says:

I was thinking it was probably the dress too. My oldest has an AG doll and my 4 year old has a bitty baby. Never had any problems, quality is there and worth every penny. And bitty babies aren not $80…they are $48

    • dana says:

we have purchased at least 8 AG dolls over the years. Happy with the quality, but not for how much the price has increased. We have 5 bitty babys – my 15y.o. even has her ‘twins’ (we bought her 2 for twins before there were twins…) boxed up and saved for her kids some day. We bought 2 of our littles b.b.s for last Christmas, and have always been happy with the doll quality (tho to be honest, we prefer Corolle). Accessories are way overpriced, but then again, you get what you pay for…

    • Melissa says:

My daughter has 2 bitty babies that we got 2nd hand (one on Craig’s list and the other at a garage sale for 25 cents!!!). Both dolls are fantastic quality. And just this past Saturday we went and bought Kit for her 6th birthday and Kit is wonderful!! She is high quality and my daughter LOVES her! This doll was expensive but well worth it!! She will last years to come.

  • Melinda says:

Thanks for the awesome deals Collin!!! What a cute little doll for my toddler and it’s just the right size!!! :) Can’t wait to see the smiles Christmas morning!

  • jill says:

I ordered 1 for my daughter but it would not allow me to select more. When I went back to the site I was able to order as many as I wanted for only .97 shipping for each one as opposed to the 2.00 shipping on the first one. The first doll was considered a “bundle” but I couldn’t find any difference between the the bundle and the other, except the shipping was an extra dollar and I could only order 1??? Unless I am misunderstanding something (very possible LOL) I think you are better off not going through the “bundle” deal.

  • beanoto4 says:

Can anyone tell me how big these doll are? Thanks

  • Marissa says:

It was nice that they had Samantha! she is no longer available in full size and was always my favorite growing up so I bought her for my niece! Thanks for posting this deal!

  • Becky says:

site must be slammed it is frozen on the shopping cart page saying “loading”

  • melani says:

Thanks! Ordered one as a stocking stuffer for my daughter :)

  • Debi says:

This works for me. My mom’s name is Kit (kinda rare ) and wanted to get the full sized Kit doll for my daughters 5th bday. I told her no. My daughter doesn’t know what American Girl is (we live in Utah, not so popular here). But this is the perfect compromise. I asked my Dad and he said “13 bucks, I’ll buy anything for 13 bucks!”

  • ChristaK says:

    Selling ou during checkout :(

  • Rosemary says:

I just ordered the Josefina Doll for my 13 year old…..yes she LOVES Anerican Girls Doll’s still at that age:) and accessories too! My oldest daughter (22 years old now) we bought her one of the larger dolls – Smanatha Doll when she was a lot younger – she still loves them too…..well, our oldest daughter passed her American Girl down to her sister and she played with it for years, very durable and great quality made.

Then i heard through hip2save – thank you Collin for more great offers! – that American Girl mini dolls were marked down on Walmart.

I was sooooo happy that they had the Josefina Doll left, because it goes great with our heritage as well, but she is so pretty and i just love here outfit too, she will be soooo happy come Christmas morning! She loves her heritage too!

Thank you again Collin and you have a great day!

I forgot to add that my shipping was $1.97……but i was reading that others paid only $0.97 for shipping….does anyone know why that is? Just curious is all, still a great deal. I only had one item and that was the American Girl Mini Doll and i went through Shopathome too.

  • Lynn Collins says:

    they added Cecile!

  • Heather J says:

    Thanks!!

  • Bridget says:

Do they look Barbie size or just a small baby doll type? Has anyone seen one?

  • Elizabeth Curtis says:

They are a little girl doll, not a Barbie or baby body. These mini dolls are only 6 inches tall.
