Walgreens Mobile App = Exclusive Mobile Coupons (Available Beginning on Black Friday!)
Just in time for Black Friday, Walgreens will be adding scannable, mobile coupons to its mobile app. Yep, that’s right! Beginning at Midnight EST on Black Friday (11/25) and through December 24th, Walgreens will be offering up exclusive coupons to smartphone customers. Keep in mind that the Walgreens app is available for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad users, Android users, and Blackberry users!
These mobile coupons will be offered one at a time (changing every 2-3 days) and will range in value from 50¢ to $5 off. The coupons will be good toward a variety of products including beauty items, gifts, consumables and everyday essentials like diapers. Once you have downloaded the app on your phone, you’ll just need to tap the “coupons” button (which won’t be available until Midnight EST on Black Friday!) to access the exclusive coupons. See the picture at the top of the post as an example.
* I am assuming that these instant in-store mobile coupons can be stacked with manufacturer’s coupons for additional savings.
(Thanks, Dayna!)
Any way not to add your number?
Not sure what you mean. You want to download an app without providing your phone number?
It asked for my phone number to send texts when a new coupon is ready. I’d just rather save on my phone bill but I’m new at the whole app thing. 🙂
I don’t think you have to add your number. You will just have to check the app for coupons.
Thanks Collin for all that you do!
That’s awesome!! Im doing my shopping on thursday but I’ll have to buy more if I can get some great matchups!
I smell disaster. Their computers can’t properly scan paper coupons properly 90% of the time. I have no confidence that they’ll be able to scan a barcode on a screen….
I had the same thought
Manager at my store said that they were supposed to be getting new registers/scanners in order to scan mobile coupons. They were rewiring my store the other day. He wasn’t sure when it would be done but maybe it will be done by Black Friday??
Ive used my iPod for coupons and store cards (savings cards) numerous times and have NEVER had an issue with them being scanned. From stop & Shop to and Hallmark. I’m confident it’ll be successful. 🙂
I have troubles with mobile coupons at Target. I think cashier was able to scan them ONCE, after that- no luck, no matter how much they tried. I had them enter coupon codes manually, but sometimes it still does not work. I am not sure if it is their scanners or just the model of my phone 🙁
I think it depends on your phone. I have an HTC (its like 2 yrs old) and my mobile coupon can never scan at target (I always have to go to CS to get reimbursed) My sister has an IPhone and she never has a problem at the register with getting the mobile coupon to scan.
I told dh I want an upgrade for Christmas b/c I can’t do shopkick or download other cool shopping apps!!!
I’m thinking about getting an IPod Touch at a Black Friday sale this year. This might be one of my first apps. 🙂 Yes, I’m behind the technology curve, but I’m okay with it.
not to worry. I’m behind times as well. I don’t think i can even get this app…and if i can, i doubt the coupon feature would work on my phone =/
years ago, blackberry was THEE phone to have…now i feel ancient. lol
Whew!! thank goodness it works on blackberrys…yes i know i’m behind times but i just can’t seem to let go of my blackberry 🙁 i know i’m missing out on a lot =/
I don’t think you can use the ‘coupon feature’ on the blackberry. I think it’s only for the android and iphone/ipad users
Seeing as how they have trouble scanning their own RR, that were printed from the exact same register… I dont think my small town Walgreens could handle this. They will need to open up more than 1 register now since the line is always backed up already!
I wish I had a smartphone ='(
I have the first mytouch form t mobile apps work great even though phone is ancient…hope this app will work good too :~) Thanks Collin
