If you are in the market for a large TV, check out the following email I received from reader, Anna:

Hi Collin,

I was going to buy the 51″ plasma TV at Walmart for $498 tonight. Oh but the idea of the line made me shudder! However, I logged on to Walmart (thru Shopathome.com) and found that the tv was already at the Black Friday price online!!! I bought it with free shipping to the store and a 3yr warranty and it came out to $593!(CA sales tax 🙁 ) I hope this makes someones day!

So, just head on over here to score this awesome deal! And as a price comparison, Amazon has what appears to be the same TV discounted to $649, so you are savings yourself basically $150 with this Walmart.com deal! …And to check out even more TV deals, head on over here!

** Also, you can score lots of great Thanksgiving Day only specials! Just go here to browse through all of the 1-day sale items. I spotted a deal to score 4 Blu-ray movies for just $20 and more!

Well when you buy an item that is discontinued sometimes it isnt such a great deal because most companies dont honor their warrantys on discontinued items. Ive ran into that many many times. We have a very elite high end tv retailer here in town and I just bought a 42″ 1080 with hd and everything for $598 after tax and that was after doing extensive research on the tv prior. Always shop around – the best price isnt always the best quality.

I have never heard of a sale price affecting a warranty. I always buy my TVs on sale. I do not think your information is correct. I just looked at an open item that was on clearance at Best Buy and asked if it affected the warranty and they told me of course not!

She said the warranty is sometimes not valid on DISCONTINUED items which means they are no longer making the product. Clearance is a sale and the items are not always discontinued. Best to doublecheck on the warranty when you purchase an item. thanks for the good word Jessica.

I bought this same TV Last night at Sam’s club and it has amazing picture quality for the price. It is 720p instead of 1080p. However after doing research I found that cable companies hd programming is delivered in 720p so it doesnt make a difference. Great Tv Excellent Price.
it’s model number is Samsung pn51d450 check the reviews at amazon.

We got ours on Tuesday from Sam’s Club too! Awesome price!

Cable might be in 720, but the quality of hd DVDs is quite a difference. we have a 1080 and my sister has a 720. We can watch the exact DVD and there is a tremendous difference. If you have a blu-ray player you will immediately notice the difference.

Samsungs are great tvs all around though. I think i would buy a 720 Samsung before i bought a 1080 cheap brand.

Thanks Collin.. I just bought it 🙂

Another good deal…IPads NEVER go on sale. I just snagged the 32g for $579 (regular price $599)…with a free car charging kit, and 4% cash back at Ebates, for another $23 off…and free ship to store. Not bad for an item that is never discounted 🙂

    All gone 🙁

I saw the $27 razor ripster thing in the walmart flyer — the only thing that made me want to actually go to the store for black friday. But it was on Amazon.com for the same price! W00t!

Got the #51D430 (wondering how this one is different from the 51D450???) from Sears.
    Online price was $499.99.
Went thru Ebates and will get 6% back (about $30?)!!
Then saw a code for 5% off on Ebates and got $25 off the price!!! WHAT???!!!???
It’s a gift for my daughter & boyfriend (I’m paying for it and they are paying me for half).
Great shopping day from my computer 🙂 🙂 🙂

Andddddddd….put it on my Visa for sky miles! Woooo hoooooo!!

if you missed this, COMP USA has a 55 inch for $499. I know because my boyfriend got it! 🙂 yes it is a movie theater in the bedroom lol.

bought the last one available at my local sam’s at around noon today and didn’t have to worry with the crowds; sam’s offered 24 mo. interest free financing with the opening of a discovery cc and knocked an additional $40 off the purchase price making it $458 before tax…hard to beat at that price and happy with the purchase

Is this really a deal? I know 720p is much cheaper than 1080p, and I know a Panasonic Viera middle of the range (best you can get without going 3D) would be about $900 for 50″, so this seems like maybe a $150 discount or so?
