I have to say, this is a great deal for the CHI! It is a great flat iron! I have had mine for almost 4 years. They are pricey, but I was buying a new flat iron every 6 months and paying $30 -$40 each time, so this saves me money! If you have ever thought about buying one, I encourage you to do so, you won’t regret it! I have VERY (naturally) curly hair, and this is awesome! (especially if you use the CHI silk unfusion with it!!) 🙂
lol. I was just logging in to say I have tried this exact Chi (the purple-y one to be specific) and it was awful. I have tried other Chi’s though that worked great but this one I got rid of after a few months. My hair would always frizz up again after a few hours.
I have thick, course hair so maybe for someone with finer hair it would work? Hope so!
I purchased the original CHI less than 2 years ago and the performance has diminished substantially. It has lost its ability to stay hot, and I don’t even have curly/thick hair! I will not repurchase…going to save up and buy the GHD instead.
I agree! I think it depends on what you’re used to. These will definately be better than one from Target or Sally’s but my old Chi is on it’s last leg. Want a GHD soooo bad but of course waiting for a deal! 🙂
It says “Fixed temperature 370 degrees Fahrenheit.” I’ve never had a CHI. Isn’t that a bit low? I have very curly hair and need over 400 degree heat with other irons.
Hmm, I have a Solia that I’ve had for years and it goes to 450 I believe. 370 would be fine for hair not too curly but for mine I need all the heat, lol
had my chi for 1 yr and it would only stay hot if i placed in a certain direction. The swivel cords on these fail pretty fast if you are used to wrapping the cord around which who doesn’t wrap the cord its the easiest way to store. anyhow purchased a $30 conair have had it for over 4 yrs and its never given my curly hair any issues.
I have tried Chi (I have VERY curly hair) along with many other flat irons, and I’m not a fan of Chi. If you have hair like mine, Sedu is the best way to go- I LOVE that flat iron. They are expensive, but if you wait for a deal to snag one, you won’t regret it. Collin posted a deal for one a few weeks ago, so they do come. Hope this helps someone!!
I ordered those children’s books from shopathome the other day and got a phone call that the order was canceled because they were out of stock!!!! BUMMER!
I have coarse wavy hair. I have used CHI on my hair for three years, and I love it! I always use a hair product when I straighten my hair to protect it from the heat, and it helps hold my hair until my next shampoo. HTH.
I have an original Chi for almost a year now. So far, so good. My only comment has to do with buying a Chi online. I have heard several times that the warranty is no good if you buy a Chi online. Maybe I’m wrong on this, but if you’re concerned about it, you may want to check into that?
