Use the $3/2 coupon found in the 12/4 RP
Final cost – 2 FREE lip balms!

* Note that as I’ve stated before, I am not a fan of Nivea Lip Care products. I was excited when their lip care line hit store shelves since I love their lotion products, but quickly realized the lip balm is definitely one of my least favorite products. I honestly feel like my lips become more chapped after putting this stuff on. Now this is just my opinion, but I thought I’d share.

This is off the current topic, but I have a question regarding troopswap, I bought the amazon gift cArd but i never got it or at least I don’t know where to find the information to use it. Did anyone get theirs?

    • Alicia

I never got mine either and I wrote them 3x and they kept insisting that Amazon sent a separate email containing the gift card. I checked my email inbox and spam and it was not in either.

  2. Kris

The reason for your lips becoming more chapped is because they become addicted to the lip balm. After using it for only a short while your lips stop producing lipids to keep your lips smooth and thus..when you stop using it on a regular basis become more chapped then they were before. It’s better to use a natural lip balm like burts bees that has bees wax in it.. better for your lips as they don’t become addicted to it.

    • MCouzens

I have tried the Burts Bees balm & it also did not work for me. I have found that a lip gloss works best for me, plus I love the added shine. Everyone’s body reacts to products differently, it must be our individual chemical makeups?

    • Kelly

I have heard this before too. I like to use Carmex lip balm (in the round tub, not the squeeze tube) before bed at night. That seems to help. During the day I like to wear gloss.

    • Shannon

The biggest issue is with any lip product containing petrolatum. Petrolatum coats lips & prevents your lips from having “cell turnover”. Just like the all of the rest of the skin on your body, the skin on your lips has to turn over in order to become smooth again. Therefore, any product with petrolatum will have this problem. That’s my nerdy science comment for the day! 🙂

      • Diane

I have heard that about petroleum-based ingredients too (including petrolatum, paraffin and mineral oils.) But what can you use that is a reasonable price that doesn’t have those ingredients in your lip balm? (Besides Burt’s Bees?)

        • ali

There is a fantastic company called Purple Prairie Botanicals that makes a natural lip balm that we use for our kids and ourselves. (purpleprairiebotanicals.com) My favorite kind is the orange smoothie lip balm, which is rated at a 0 hazard level by the EWG ( I think all of the P.P. Botanicals lip balms are a 0 or a 1 ). It only has a couple of ingredients (organic shea butter, organic olive oil, organic orange oil, etc), and it works wonders! I will never go back to conventional lip balm again after using this for over a year now. My lips are not chapped at all anymore, even through these vicious Midwest winters. It is priced around $2, and they offer free shipping at $40 and have sales often. I hope everyone gets away from the petroleum based products, especially for your children. You can research lip balm and all personal care product safety at the EWG site cosmeticsdatabase.com and I encourage everyone to do so. 🙂

    • cdawnt

That explains why I went through my tube in about 2 weeks! I was not happy with it at all.

  3. Kelly D

I agree with you- I got several when it was free- and was disappointed when my lips felt more dry.

  4. Emily G

Totally agree with you… I found out about this in the most painful way. My lips became so chapped and irritated after using their lipbalm(I looked like a duck). My doctor suggested aquafor and Ive never looked back since! Its a lifesaver! And theres a coupon out for it, too! hehehe

  5. Bonnie

How funny, theirs is one of my favorite lip balms! I only like the one in the blue tube tho – not the “flavored ones.”

    • Carr

One of my favorites too. I always have one on hand at work.

    • Stacey

Bonnie, funny it’s my favorite, too! The white one called “recovery” works best for me. Softlips, on the other hand, has the effect that Collin is talking about with me. One swipe, and my lips are dried out. My mother likes Softlips, though. Funny how everyone is different!

  6. Lor

I also don’t like their lip balms since they made my lips more chapped. I love blistex in the green tube. Not many coupons out there for it but when there are I am so excited!

  7. gu

    isn’t it 12/4 not 2/4 ?? 😀

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

LOL! Oopsie! Just fixed that. 🙂

  8. gu

great deal! I’ll go later on this week…Nivea is so rare to get for free

    • Christy

These are always free after coupon I think I have 20 still from last fall when they were $1 each at CVS. Then 2 months ago when they had these coupons out our local grocery Store Pick N Save had them on this same sale as Kmart $2.99 for 2 so free after coupon. Hope you get more deals 🙂

  9. ali s

I agree with you too, collin. For over the counter stuff, I like blistex best! Chapstick dries out my lips too.

  10. Crystal

I have only tried the blue tube and it’s okay. I won’t ever use Carmex again though. I found out it has small pieces of fiberglass in it. In other words, they want your lips to crack and stay dry so that you keep buying more. Therefore I only buy chapstick brand…..it helps for sure 🙂

    • bali

LOL that’s just an urban myth with the fiberglass.

      • Kristen

Yes, if you check out the snopes website you will see this is a rumor that they have determined is “false” 😉

  11. Adris ma

i agree my lips are more chappped than before also. The blistex that looks like the Nivea lip gloss is the same way !

  12. Bridget

Wow, though I was the only one! My lips got so dry using this stuff! Like Kris above said, its like I was addicted to it, and my lips were getting worse lol

  13. mrsevans78

Please refrain from posting ridiculous rumors if you aren’t going to take the time to research and see if it’s true. Carmex does NOT have fiberglass in it, and there is no proof that any lip balm is “addictive”.

  14. Melissa

I thought my daughter was crazy when she told me that Nivea made her lips more chapped but that was only one type in the line. We tried the one in the blue tube and liked it.

  15. Erin

It’s one of my favorites, too, but like someone else said only the blue kind!!

  16. Rachel

That’s so funny I am in LOVE with Nivea chapstick – I won’t use any other brand! Hopefully if half the people out there hate it there will still be some left on the shelves! : ) : ) : )

  17. Joy

I’m addicted to Soft Lips. I’ve tried everything else but keep going back to Soft Lips. I must have at least 20 stashed all around my house and car. If you wear long wearing lipstick and glosses they can dry out your lips, too despite the claim that they moisturize.

  18. Shirl

I like this product..but looked in my Kmart ad and couldn’t find the sale for B1G1 so..not sure about it

  19. Tara

I bought the 3 pk that came with the blue, yellow, and the lip gloss. I love the blue tube, but not a fan of the others. My lips were severely chapped and after one use with the blue tube they felt significantly better and completely healed in probably a week. I also do not need to use constantly since.

  20. amy

I LOVE the Nivea in the blue tubes! It’s the only product I’ve found that doesn’t make my lips wither up and peel away…and I used to suffer every winter. I guess everyone’s skin chemistry is different and react differently to these things…but this is definitely the one for me!! Thanks for noting the freebie for people like me!!! 🙂

  21. Erin

I don’t think it makes my lips worse, but then, again, I don’t really allow my lips to become chapped. I don’t particularly like it, though. I always got the flavored ones; I still have an unopened blue one that I’ll have to try.

  22. Rhonda Shaw

Is this sale in the ad this week? I can’t find it and wanted to price match at Walmart.

    • deidre

No this is a weekly “price drop” so there are blue tags up advertising it in-store, but it is not in the ad.

  23. Ashley Barroso

I did not get the RP insert in sundays paper 🙁 I really wanted to try this…

    • Mindy Marik

I didn’t get mine either and I am disappointed. Any chance that it can be printable on line?

    • cdawnt

      I didn’t get one either 🙁

  24. Carol_R

I love the Nivea Lip Balm. It’s probably my favorite out of all that I’ve tried.

  25. Michelle

FYI: The red ones leave your lips way too red! Yuck! The yellow one is okay. But the light blue one is fabulous!!!! Tons of moisture. Even my husband likes the blue one.

  26. Deedee

I don’t think it works wonders or anything. What I do like about it is that it doesn’t burn or sting chapped lips (maybe it’s missing an ingredient that would actually make it work better?). So, when my toddlers have chapped lips, this is what I use. Even plain chapstick they complain about burning.

  27. Laura

Thanks! I will keep my eye out on the blue ones.

  28. Jennifer

I like the pink one the best…just a hint of shimmer. Hoping to score this today. Thanks for the heads up

    • julieanne28

The pink shimmer is my favorite too! I use CoverGirl Outlast lipstick and it will dry out your lips if you don’t apply a lip gloss frequently but I love the fact that it lasts all day.

    • kate

Funny – I thought I would like the hint of shimmer one because of the shimmer, but it dried out my lips. Everyone’s different I guess. =]
But I like the milk and honey a lot! It smells so good!

  29. Melinda

Funny you should say that, Collin. A while back I was using their overnight repair in the tub every night. My lips got so chapped that I had to use an exfoliator on them a couple times a week. I decided my lips were “addicted” and quit using anything. After a couple weeks, they’re back to normal. I’ve gone back to carmex, VS lip gloss, and other lip products that don’t make my lips nearly as chapped.

  30. axhilli

I love the Nivea lip balm, that’s what I love about people how we are all unique it’s like when you post the I POOTED tshirt and read the reactions!! I think people should try it if they haven’t because you may like it.

  31. Elizabeth

Doing the deal at kmart, would they have to manually re-adjust the coupon to $2.99 or will the register do it automatically? I’ve never really shopped at kmart with coupons so I don’t know how they are towards overages or if the policy doesn’t allow it or says yo adjust it like many of the drugstores do. Anyone?

    • Melony

When I redeemed yesterday, I was told by a lady at the CS desk that they have to be manually adjusted to $2.99. I had issues yesterday with Kmart when I went to get the deal. The cashier told me that I had to buy 6 in order to be able to use the coupons. I tried telling her that the coupons needed adjusted and that per their coupon policy, I did not have to buy anything else besides the 4 (B1G1 deal) to use the coupon. Well, she wouldn’t let me check out until I bought another one to go with the 4 free ones. I bought 6 of them, used two coupons and went to the CS desk, told them what the cashier said and they said that they would talk to her and that I was right. They also refunded the extra 2 balms as well.

  32. Patty

I actually love the Nivea, all the other ones chap my lips except for this one

  33. everything couponing

    is this an advertised price?

  34. jsmith1978

I agree with you Collin! They do chap my lips more thought I was crazy!

  35. Shannon

The biggest issue is with any lip product containing petrolatum or certain other oils. Petrolatum coats lips & prevents your lips from having “cell turnover”. Just like the all of the rest of the skin on your body, the skin on your lips has to turn over in order to become smooth again. Therefore, any product with petrolatum will have this problem. That’s my nerdy science comment for the day!

  36. Jody

The only place I was able to find these was near the registers at my local KMart. They were not located with the other lip products. Hope this is helpful to someone as I had searched the store and given up until I was checking out 😉

  37. Nicole G.

I’m shocked at the number of people that dislike this lip balm. It is LITERALLY my favorite lip balm ever. My lips have never felt so smooth. I have no problems with chapped lips or my lips drying out from it. I’ve recommended it to many of the other nurses I work with (because the air is SO DRY in the hospital) & they all love it too. Interesting to hear so many people disliking what I think is an amazing product!

  38. mandy

I thought it was my imagination that my lips have no improvement after using the nivea, I too was excited too get it as I love the brand, but the lip balm adds no moisture to my lips. It’s nice to know it’s not just me 🙂

  39. Melony

For those asking about what to use for chapped lips, look for something with glycerin in it. Glycerin helps lock moisture in and draws moisture from the air as well. For my chapped hands in the winter time, I will only use two products: C.O. Bigelow chapped hands relief (think that’s the name of it) and C.O. Bigelow soap free cleanser. Both contain glycerin. Last year when I had chapped hands, I was told by a bath and body works associate about the C.O. Bigelow products (before some BBW stores near me stopped selling it) and bought it. It healed my hands in about two days (applying it several times a day and using the soap free cleanser all the time). I have been a fan ever since. 🙂

  40. Melony

Note that I had really painful chapped hands. I had cracks almost all over my hands. It hurt when I ran water on them to wash my hands, doing dishes was horrible! and the cracks were bleeding as well. Two days later using C.O. Bigelow products (expensive yes but totally worth it) my hands cleared right up. 🙂

  41. Lauren

Lifeguards Choice by Burts Bees is the only way to go, especially when you’re snowboarding.

  42. Abi

I also do not like any of the Nivea chapsticks. They really are low line. When I lived in Denmark, they were some of the more “affordable” lip balms (kind of like our dollar store chapsticks). They go on super nice, but in about 20 minutes, you’ll be thinking, “man, my lips feel dry”.

  43. Michele

I scanned through my Kmart ad twice and not seeing Nivea balms on sale. What page is it on?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Michelle,

It’s an unadvertised sale, so it’s not listed in the ad.

  44. Becky

I went to Kmart today and this coupon does not scan with their registers so try would not accept it because it does not have the correct UPC… How annoying… I even went to customer service. Anyone else have this problem?

    • Nat

Yes, I had the same problem. 🙁

    • hotmamacoupon

yes, My nivea coupons did not scan either, the cashier had to put them manually.

Why do those coupons only have 1 bar?

This is so annoying. same thing happened last week with the children’s advil, arghhhhh

  45. michelle

personally, i LOVE dct by blistex. it actually helps my lips, instead of using it more and more because my lips get addicted to it, i find myself using it less and less since it actually moistens my lips and keeps them that way. it’s the only lip balm i use.

  46. Holly

I could not find this at my local Kmart (not surprising). I was very frustrated.. until I went to Walmart today. Walmart had bonus packs of Nivea (2 tubes) for $2.79. I used my $3 off coupon on two packs ($5.58). I paid $2.58 for 4 tubes! Not free, but not too bad!

  47. Kristen

I totally love the Nivea line of lipbalms. I honestly find them comparable to a high end brand Fresh Sugar Lip Balms that are priced at around 22.00. It’s funny how everyone is different! =)
