Free Amazon Price Check App (Instantly Compare In-Store & Online Amazon Prices)
Have you ever found yourself standing in an aisle at the store trying to decide whether to purchase something that seems to be a great deal while wondering if you’re later going to discover that it is offered for a cheaper price online? Or maybe you find an item in-store for a rock bottom price, but you wish you had instant access to the customer reviews to see if it will be money well spent?!
If this sounds like you, then you’ll definitely want to check out Amazon’s Price Check App available for iPhones (compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 devices, and camera-enabled iPod touch devices running iOS 4 or greater) and Androids (minimum operating system Android 2.1).

Um-This seems kind of like a way to use people to secret shop prices for them and then undercut a local merchant. I love Amazon, but I don’t like this idea. Stores have to pay taxes & power bills, & employees…..Remember that.
Why complain about an app that gives people the option to see better deals out there? Money doesn’t grow on trees. At least, me and my family’s don’t. I come to this site because Collin is generous enough to sacrifice her time and energy so WE can save a couple bucks. That’s pretty awesome and see nothing to complain about here. Definitely going to be downloading this app. Thanks Collin!
I try to frequent small local shops, but when it comes to the budget this is something that costs me and my bottom line. I am not well off enough to pay almost double for something.
Mom and pop shops are after all there for the convenience of being local not because they provide a service no one else can provide. And if the cost of that convenience is too high or cannot compete with the convenience of having something shipped to my door, then it is a sign of the times that they cannot make it anymore. They sell the same exact good for original price + cost + what they want to make in profit. They are not really producing anything. Now when it comes to the service sector, I think your argument is justified.
That’s the beautiful thing about living in America. We vote with our feet and/or money and will take our business where we can find the best deal. If a store has to jack up the price of a product to pay electric bills and a mortgage, that isn’t my problem. A free market allows for the weeding out of poorly run or managed businesses.
If you think for one moment that any of the stores you choose to shop at care about your budget or the costs your family incurs each month, you’re wrong. They are in business to make money. I’m in the business of keeping my money, and charity starts at home- my family comes first. Not theirs.
Awesome app. If a shop wants my business, they can give me an equal or better price than what Amazon offers. Otherwise, I will take my business elsewhere.
I use this app all the time to compare ink prices and such while I’m shopping!
LOVE IT!
I use the app, its great for the most part, the only issues I have run into is that sometimes depending on the package, it may quote a price of an item with fewer count in the package, therein making it seem cheaper. example – i went to the store, scanned a barcode for water filtration replacement cartridges (case of 6), it came back like $20 cheaper on amazon, then when I got home, to order it, it was actually only a package of 3….so back to the store I went and bought it from the store…but overall it is a good app.
Thank you for sharing this app. I dont know how many times I have been in a store and wonder if something is a great price. I spend several minutes afterwards searching internet or calling someone who may know. This will make my shopping easier thank you ๐
I use redlaser (iphone app) it not only finds you the best price anywhere online it also shows you the best price to buy it locally
Redlaser is also on android. I use it for average price range only; I’ve always been able to find a better price by searching for the product using different methods (amazon, costco, ebay, google). Local availability is a cool feature, but I have yet to have it come back with something available locally. ๐
